Making presentation column fields visible / editable at runtime

Hi,
I am new to presenation.
In my presentation, suppose if i have 3 fields
First one is combo.. and other two are text fields.. Depending upon the value selected, i like to enable second text box ,disable thrid one..and vice-versa..
How can i enable / disable or change the editable property at runtime
Can any one help on this. Thanks in Advance

Hi,
There are three steps to doing this.
1. You first have to find out the names of the fields on the presentation you want to make visible or invisible. To do this, go into the BPM Object Presentation -> click the field -> look at the Properties tab on the right and see the name in the "Name" field. It is normally "text1" or "text2", etc.. This is the field name you will want to use in the logic in the next step. A very common mistake is to use the attributes name (e.g. "customerName") in the logic in the next step. This will not work - you must always use the field's name instead.
2. Create a method in the BPM Object with logic similar to this:
// see which value was picked from the combo dropdown
if valueInCombo = "A" then
// make the attribute associated with the "text1" field on the presentation
//   not visible
setVisible this
using componentId = “text1”, // the field name
visible = false, // “true” to make visible
collapsed = true // removes the space vacated
// make the attribute associated with the "text2" field on the presentation
//     visible
setVisible this
using componentId = “text2”, // the field name
visible = true,
collapsed = false
elseif valueInCombo = "B" then
// make the attribute associated with the "text1" field on the presentation
//    visible
setVisible this
using componentId = “text1”, // the field name
visible = true,
collapsed = false
// make the attribute associated with the "text2" field on the presentation
//     not visible
setVisible this
using componentId = “text2”, // the field name
visible = false,
collapsed = true
end 3. On the presentation, click the combo dropdown. Once again look at the Properties tab on the right and click the "On Change Invoke" property. Once clicked, pick the method you just created in the above step.
Hope this helps,
Dan

Be so kind and stay polite. Our community users try to help you. By the way: the question from Noel wasn't that bad. Why do you write the same stuff a second time instead of trying to explain in a better way?

• SOLAR01 / 02 Administration tab - making 'Plan Data' fields non-editable

For the SOLAR01 / 02 t-codes, and under the Administration tab, how can one make the 'Plan Data' non-editable for the users. This is required so that the planned data is controlled only by the Admin / Mgmt team and the functional and technical team can update only the 'Actual Data' fields.
Thanks very much,
Varun Narula

Hi Prakhar,
I would like to create a project plan similar to MS Project with tasks, activities etc. and having planned and actual dates. The ASAP roadmap structure is more suitable for this kind of thing, but it does not provide a tab to add the planned and actual dates.
The SOLAR01 provides the Admin tab for the planned and actual dates, but it has a constraint that the structure it creates is only 2 levels deep. Besides, I don't want the Org Structure, Master Data and Business Processes sub-folders to appear under each task / activity.
Any ideas if any of the above can be achieved?

• Making a single field editable with certain conditions

Hi,
We have an requirement wherein only a single field in an read only BC should be editable(with a certain condition).
Kindly help me on this.
Thanks and Regards,
Priya

Hi,
The only way is put the "condition" in a calculated field. Create one more applet (clone of the read only applet). Make all the other fields read only at "applet level" and leave the one field as editable. Use the calculated field to toggle the cloned applet. Thats it. Any query revert back.

• Making the Business Area field as editable

Hi
We have business area field as compulsory field for document splitting. The same is picking up on the Business Area assignment in SD. However, the field for the same is seen as greyed out field in Sales Order at line item level. we would like to make the same field as editable. How can the same be done?
Regards
Rahul Sharma

Hi
The fields in a sales order can be made optional / mandatory by following this menu path - IMG - S&D-> Basic > Functions-> Log of incomplete Procedures => select the fields > from the tables and the system will check for them (OVA2/VUA2)
To make a filed entry enabled or grey (non-entry allowed):
User exits in the program MV45AFZZ-USEREXIT_FIELD_MODIFICATION
This user exit can be used to modify the attributes of the screen fields. To do this, the screen fields are allocated to so-called modification groups 1 - 4 and can be edited together during a modification in ABAP.
If a field has no field name, it cannot be allocated to a group. The usage of the field groups (modification group 1-4) is as follows:
Modification group 1: Automatic modification with transaction MFAW
Modification group 2: It contains ‘LOO’ for step loop fields
Modification group 3: For modifications which depend on check tables or on other fixed information
Modification group 4: is not used
The FORM routine is called up for every field of a screen. If you require changes to be made, you must make them in this user exit. This FORM routine is called up by the module FELDAUSWAHL.
Actually suppressing fielding sales orders userwise is quite easy. We are doing it in our company. For this we use userexit FORM USEREXIT_FIELD_MODIFICATION in MV45AFZZ.
Below is the sample code
IF SCREEN-NAME = ‘VBKD-ABSSC’.
AUTHORITY-CHECK OBJECT ‘ZMV45AFZZ’ ID ‘SCRFNAME’ FIELD SCREEN-NAME.
IF sy-subrc = 0.
SCREEN-INPUT = 1.
else.
SCREEN-INPUT = 0.
ENDIF.
endif.
You place the authority check object in authorization profile in the role of the users, who should have access to the field (in this case it is VBKD-ABSSC), and there assign the corresponding fields that are to be accessed via this userexit.

• ALV grid field editable/non editable at runtime

Hi All,
I am working on alv grid using containers. I have to make few cells in grid to editable and few othres to non editable which I did using styles by defining table type lvc_t_styl and updating my main internal table. Now once grid is displayed for first time (using set_table_for_first_display) it has required fields in editable and non editable as required. But now on triggering of data_changed event I have to change the editable cells to non editable and the non editable cells to editable. I tried doing this as same way as I have done before calling set_table_for_first_display method i.e. by defining table of type lvc_t_styl in data_changed event and modifying my main internal table but this time the editable fields are changed to non editable and again becomes editable. Same problem with non editable cells also. They become editable and again becomes non ediatble of there own. Can anyone suggest any solution.

Currently i am using the REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY where in the fieldcatalog if i use the edit=X then the whole column is editable...
But instead i want the particular field or the entire row to be editable...
Also let me know if it is possible using the SALV classes(Alv using classes? if so provide the releavant class and method)
Can anyone provide the solution regarding this...
Thanks
Shiva

Hi,
The fields you want editable just set the fieldcatlog parameter edit = 'X' for that field.
This will make that field only editable .
Below is the sample code where only specific fields are editable .
This code will also help you in many aspects.

• Drop Column Field and Drop Row Fields in the Details Field area in the Cube Browser of BIDS/SSDT 2012

Hello. When I right click a cube in the solution explorer and click browse, I am presented with a Details field area which doesn't have "Drop Row Fields" area like in BIDS 2008, and doesn't have "Drop Column Fields" area like in BIDS. It just has one details
area with the message "Drag levels or measures here to add to the query".
How do I include the "Drop Row Fields" area and the "Drop Column Fields" area in this Details area so it can be like 2008?

I am using MDX query to build SSRS report.
How do i get MDX query from Excel ?
Hi Vishal,
We can use "OLAP PivotTable Extension" to get MDX query in Excel, please download it from:
http://olappivottableextend.codeplex.com/
In addition, I would suggest you open a new case if you have any more questiosn.

• How to add columns (fields) to header section of an alert e-mail?

Hi all,
In a standard out of the box alert template, I want to add custom fields (e.g. Notes, Value p.a.) to the body of an alert e-mail, see photo:
These cannot be any list/library built-in columns like 'Created', 'Created By' etc.
The class responsible for those column in 'Alerttemplate.xml' is:

$Resources:Alerts_event_title;

$Resources:Alerts_event_modified;

$Resources:Alerts_event_modifiedby;

How can I add additional fields to that?

Since there was no input from anyone on the forum, I have come up with a following workaround:
I could not add any more columns to the alert e-mail body for edited items so I used a 'Title' column to combine all the columns a wanted to display in the e-mail alert.
These were the 'Prefix' - 'Suffix' 'Product' columns. On 'Edit' and 'New' forms, there is a piece of jquery to combine those 3 columns and store the value in a 'Title' column which is appropriately hidden from the views and forms. There is no 'Quick Edit'
switched on in the list so jquery will always run setting a 'Title' column correctly.
Users can see the relevant information right in their inbox so they won't have to log in to SP remotely to look up this information.

• Hiding columns/fields in the response portfolio after you distribute your form

I have a 10 page from that has about 100 radio buttons (yes/no) in it. After someone submits the form and I open my response portfolio the only columns/fields I want to see is the name, date, age and exclude all the radio buttons. Can you set an option LC ES before you distribute the form?
I have found I can do this within the portfolio pdf, but only going to modify---view-then unchecking what I do not want to see…………BUT it is ONLY one at a time. If there is another way of doing it LET ME KNOW!!
Thanks
mike

The response file is a collection. But unfortunately it can't be edited, at least not easily. You can remove a column with a script run in the console window.
this.collection.removeField("FieldName");
The field name is typically the name displayed at the top of the column.
