Making the data file visible as the vi runs and writes to it

This is a rather simple question but I want to make sure I that I know how to do it and do it right. I am writing to a text file and would like to make it visible as the vi runs and updates it. Thanks.

If you are using this for the purpose of de-bugging your program, I like the idea Tomoya wrote about using a probe to see what is going to the text file. It's very simple.
If you are trying to do this at runtime, I would handle it this way : In a loop seperate from the one that does the writing, use a file properties vi to get file size and compare it to the last file size query (use a shift register for this). If the file size has changed, re-read and display the contents of the file to a front panel text box. Otherwise do nothing.
For a more programatically correct method, use a semaphore or queue to tell the update loop that its time to re-read. The writing loop would (after write) set the queue element (or semaphore). The reading loop would wait on this trigg
er to know when to read.

One Possibility is by making manual entry for that employee from FI side.. (this will give you soln..) Take the help of FI consultant...
Another possibility is in IT0003 "Payroll Status".. You can opt mention next month date "Run Payroll up to" & execute Off cycle payroll for that employee...
Just try this hope this may sort your issue....
If it still it doesn't give you soln.. You may need to reverse the posting of that employee & change employment status.. Run Bonus & finally terminate the employee & do the posting..

I am trying to write a VI that gets the current time and writes it to an XML file in this format. YYYY-MM-DDThh:mm:ss[.s][Z|(+|-)hh:mm]
I cant seem to get the operators on the format date/time string vi to work for concatenating the "-" between the year and month
Anybody know how to do this one?

You should not need to use special operaors for the format date/time string, the format should simply be"%Y-%m-%d"

IBooks - PDF Files that a reader can highlight and write notes in?

I would like to create a PDF file in Adobe Acrobat in Windows that a reader can highlight the text in and write notes. Is this possible? I can get it to show bookmarks and such, but the other two things would be great to be able to do.

The point is to be able to use the iBooks functionality.

I used "Get Waveform Components" to separate waveform data. I need to get the time stamp and write it on file as an header.

I am not able to solve the problem because I can't find an I/O vi that writes on file time stamp data. An error occurs, because of connecting different data types. How can I convert time stamp data so that I can use it as input in a write on file vi? Please, help me!

The problem with the selection seems to be that you are using two different indexing tunnels on the for loop. One of them loops over every value of the first incoming waveform, the other one over all waveforms in the incoming array. The value you wire to the N terminal will be ignored, the number of loop executions will be the minimum of your indexes. Anyway, the loop doesn't seem to do what you wanted:
- If you want to store the complete waveform: loop over all waveforms, check for the maximum of each of them and write it just like you do now.
- If you want to store only the values of each waveform that actually exceeded the threshold: You can either use 2 nested for loops to iterate over each value of each waveform. Use shift registers t
o create new arrays of timestamps / values for the values you want to store. You need to either convert the waveform to x-y-pairs (VI on analog waveform palette) or calculate your own timestamps. You might as well want to check out the "Search waveform" VI. Configure it so that value+-tolerance covers the band between your expected minimum value and your threshold value. The VI will give you the indices and timestamps of all fits.

How to advoid Pdf attached files turning into winmail.dat file causing incovinience opening them? And why does the phone automatically changes the file???

The first time i opened the mail, the mail loaded the attactment as pdf file and i was able to open it without any problems. But then when i tried to open it again, i watched the phone automatically turned the pdf file into winmail.dat without any of my control. Since then, i werent able to open the file anymore! And this was lucky that i was able to see it as pdf file - all other attachments i have recieved since using my new ip6 all turn into winmail.dat
this is really incovinient and frustrating for work. i cant believe i cannot just open a pdf file as a pdf file on my ip6 in the emails i recieve. I was on ip4 before this and never have anything like this happened.
Solution needed asap please.

Firefox web pages often print with many extra spaces between letters, making the printout illegible and useless..

When I try to print e-mails in Thunderbird and web pages in Firefox, the individual letters usually print (either to my laser printer or to Acrobat Distiller) with many spaces between each letter, making the printout nearly illegible and useless. Any thoughts? And settings that would correct this? (I never had this problem before the last few months, using earlier versions of Firefox and Thunderbird.

about:config has many listings for each of my printers, but instead of starting with "print.print_printer" [naming the printer], most listings that name a printer start with "print_printer" or simply printer_[printer name]. I don't want to reset all the listings, not knowing beforehand if that would be advisable.

That usually means the hard drive has failed. You might be able to find a repair shop who can replace the drive or you may be able to do it yourself depending on the model.
It may just be better in the long run to just buy a new iPod. You can get a new 160GB Classic for around $200 or so at some online retailers.

How to delete the dunning run and dunning notice?

If I created a dunning run with a future date and this has been printed, then I can not delete this dunning, so I just delete the job. But when I try to create a new dunning for the same customer, the system do not allowed me to dunned again. Is there anyone can help me on this issue?

Hi,
if you have executed a dunning run up to the Dunning selection executed, then you can delete the run from the menu path Dunning notices -> Delete dunning run. This will not delete the parameters, only the selection run. customers will be released from dunning block.
However, if you have executed the print, i.e. your dunning run has the status, dunning notice printed, then you will not be able to delete it using this route. The customers block is released when the print out is taken.
If you want to delete the run, then you can try re-organising the run, using the menu path Environment - Reorganisation. I am not sure whether this will release cusomers, try it on a test system and see.

How can I disable the 'First Run' and 'Whats New' pages from showing after updating Firefox for all users that log onto a system.

I am a system administrator and need a way to set a global preference to not open the Whats New and first run pages. I found the browser.startup.homepage_override.mstone preference in the user profile but want to be able to set this globally.

Use a mozilla.cfg file in the Firefox program folder to lock prefs or specify default values.
Place a file local-settings.js in the defaults\pref folder where you also find the file channel-prefs.js to specify using mozilla.cfg.

I s there any oracle dictionary view which captures the queries being run by users on the database and time taken to execute those queries?
We need to find out the OS user not the database user since we have to identify the users who are executing long running queries.
We require this basically to monitor the long running queries on the database.

Oracle doesn't store information about individual executions of SQL queries (that would've been too expensive), but you can find cumulative query execution stats in V$SQL. If you are interested in queries by a specific OS user, then Active Session History can help you (provided you have the Diagnostic Pack License).

Why does the fan run and the bottom of the computer get very hot?

The computer didn't used to do this (it is only about 15 months old). Lately the fan will run and the computer will get hot on the bottom of the case. Any suggestions as to cause and what I should do about it?

Script to set all files in a folder to "Read and Write" permissions? Please

In advance my most abject apologies for posting such a simple question. I couldn't script my way out of a paper bag, and searching and googling have failed, no doubt because I don't even have the proper keywords. :-/
The script I need is so simple that it most likely exists somewhere already. Whenever I copy image files from a DVD-ROM or CD-ROM burned on a Windows laptop to my desktop Mac, the files and folders therein are "Read Only" on my Mac. If there are many files in the folder, it's very easy to Select All and do a Get Info on multiple items, so I can rectify the situation by changing the whole set in a single step. But if I have ten files or less in a folder, each file opens an Info dialog box and that can become very tedious when I have scores of folders with nine or so files in each.
Any guidance will be much appreciated.

Making the internal drive and external drive

My G5 died last week and I got a new macbook pro. I just got an external closure for the internal hard drives. Can The same be done for the burner. I upgraded the burner last year and it is very nice. Please let me know if this is possible and what some good options would be.

Making the French grave and the Euro symbol

On previous Mac computers I've been able to make the euro symbol, using shift/option 2. Now, on a new iMac, using Leopard, I can't find a way to do it. And I've never ever been able to make the grave symbol. I have various printouts of all the different symbols available on the Mac but none of their suggestions for the grave and the euro will work. Can somebody suggest a way around this problem?

Enable "Keyboard Viewer" in the "Input Menu" tab of "International" system preference, and check "Show input menu in menu bar" at the bottom of the window. You can then select "Keyboard Viewer" from the flag in the menu bar. If you press Option, Shift-Option, or Command-Option, you will see the special characters. If an accent shows with a coloured background, it will be put over the next character you type. On my keyboard, Euro is Shift-Option-2 €, accent grave is left of "1". Option-` puts ` over the next character. è à ò ù
I am using the Australian keyboard layout, but interestingly enough, though it's ticked it's greyed out in the system preferences.
If you only have one keyboard checked, the check-mark will be greyed out, since you would have no keyboard if you unchecked it.
