Manage DocumentAbstract Search result property

Hello,
I have develop a 3° party index using KM documentation "Integrating 3rd-Party Search Engines into KM Index Management"
The index is well working.
But I do not want to change the renderer of existing result search screen.
This mean that i need to map my data with the properties that are defined for the StandardSearchResultRenderer.
(See
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/79/a1d23e6b2c3d67e10000000a114084/frameset.htm document to understand the display of search result properties)
I manage to map my data with the following properties: lastmodified,  lastmodifiedby, description, displayname, contentlink
Example of code implementation:
new Property(new PropertyName(IWcmConst.SAP_WCM_NAMESPACE, IWcmConst.PROP_DISPLAYNAME), "Display Name")
But I did not manage to map my data with the following properties : documentabstract, rankvalue, rating
Has someone alreadey manage to map his data with the property documentabstract ?
How can we do it ?
Thanks,
Fabien

I have tried to set the value of documentAbstract using <b>searchResult.setContentSnippet("XXX");</b>
where searchResult is of type <b>com.sapportals.wcm.service.indexmanagement.retrieval.search.ISearchResult</b>
But I always have the abstract: "No document excerpt available" for all  my result.
How can I set the value of the abstract (or contentSnippet) for each of my result ?
Thanks,
Fabien

  • No search result using managed property from a column of a published infopath form

    Hi,
    I'm trying to use a managed property in the advanced search to retrieve only words from a column of a published InfoPath form. We are using FAST Search and verify that the column are being crawled by checking the crawled property in Central Admin but still
    cannot retrieve search result for the managed property. We also do a full crawl before testing the search. Thank you..

    Hi Rommel,
    When we create a column from a list (not site column), then we need create list item with this column value, then we need to full crawl, then the the crawled propery ows_listColumnName will be generated, then create a managed property to map this
    crawled property(start a full crawl again if needed), then add the custom managed property in advance search web part property, then check again.
    Here is an article about how to add the custom managed proerpty in advanced search web part, you can take a look.

  • Weird character in search result for HitHighlightedSummary property

    We have a INTEG search center and display managed property 'HitHighlightedSummary', which is a out of box managed property
    One of the results display as below in search result page:
    "Issue 9 brings us the latest news from the Home Oxygen Service team … Don't forget to read CorpNEWS next week to get the latest Home Oxygen Service update.  "
    Noticed that the last weird character? how does that happen? we have same setup in DEV env, but we don't get this issue, how to track down this issue.

    The Ascii code 8203 stands for line break :
    http://www.fileformat.info/info/unicode/char/200b/index.htm
    commonly abbreviated ZWSP ;  this character is intended for invisible word separation and for line break control; it has no width, but its presence between two characters does not prevent increased letter spacing in justification
    A third party editor may be adding them , if they are not originally present in your script/code.
    Are you using any such editor tools?
    It will be helpful to open a troubleshooting ticket with Microsoft so that we can look at the issue in more depth.

  • Managed custom properties at site collection level when used as refiner returns no value in search result web part

    I have created certain crawled properties and mapped them to the OOB managed properties( refineable active )  in search schema at site collection level and tried to use them as refiner in the search
    site at farm level but it returns no value.
    But when i use the same crawled property and map it to a service level OOB metadata property ( refineable active ) and use it in search as refiner it returns result , Can you help as to why this difference is there.
    What steps should i do so that site level refiners also work in the enterprise search
    Thanks in advance

    Hi  Dextar,
    According to your description, my understanding is that you want to create a site level refiner in SharePoint 2013.
    Here is a detailed blog you can refer to:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/tothesharepoint/archive/2013/11/11/how-to-add-refiners-to-your-search-results-page-for-sharepoint-2013.aspx
    Be aware that any changes in the manage property required full crawl.

  • Search results showing ID of Managed metadata field

    Our output of the search function in our Sharepoint 2010 intranet shows the id of the managed metadata field (see image).
    Every time a managed metadata field is shown in the result, it is followed by it's ID. Does anyone know the solution to this problem? Does this have something to do with the crawl settings of these managed metadata fields? Thx in advance.

    Hi,
    what needs to be done is to add a new managed property to your search configuration and map it the field in your search result.
    You will find a detailed how to on the following page:
    http://www.insidesharepoint.net/post/Using-taxonomy-fields-in-SharePoint-2010-Part-III.aspx
    Whenever you create a new taxonomy field instead of one field two will be created one contain the TermValue|<GUID of Term> and a another one with
    with term value itself.
    If you create a field named "color" then you will find the following fields in the crawled property "ows_color" and "ows_taxid_color". The first field "ows_color" is the one you need to use.
    If you are more interested in how Taxonomy Fields work you should check out my blog post:

  • Cannot see managed properties values in search result webpart- Sharepoint online

    Hi,
    Cannot see custom managed properties at site collection level in ResultScriptWebPart for SharePoint online. where as it is visible when i create managed properties @SSA (Search Service Application) level.
    Below are the steps which I followed:
    1) I have added few custom managed properties at Search Site collection level in SharePoint online.
    2) Mapped those properties to user profile crawled properties
    3) We are using those custom managed properties in ResultScriptWebPart(People Search Core Results) by using ItemTemplate
    I cannot see those managed properties in search result.When I debug it in browser it comes as null.
    But when I add these managed properties @SSA (Search Service Application) level I can see the value in search result webpart.
      What is the reason value doesn't get populated  at Site Collection level?
    Thanks,
    Prashant A

    Hi Prashant,
    Based on your description, the site collection managed property cannot work in SharePoint Online.
    For troubleshooting this issue, I recommend to verify the things below:
    Please make sure that the full crawl has been run after creating the managed property.
    Please check if the managed property is set to be searchable.
    Please search with this managed property to see if the results can be returned.
    Thanks,

  • Unable to filter people search results by managed properties

    I am in a strange situation. If I do not specify any filters, my people search works fine. However, if I filter it by a managed property, it does not return any results.
    How can I verify the search crawl is crawling these properties?
    Any pointers?

    Hi,
    According to your description, my understanding is that when you filter managed properties in People search results, then it doesn't return any results.
    Something needs to clarify. Does all the properties not return results or some specific properties ?
    If just some properties not return results, then I suggest you can check if you have set indexed for these properties and if there are valid data in the properties.
    If all the properties can't be filtered, I suggest you can check if there are something wrong in the ULS logs and check if you have set up People search correctly.

  • SharePoint 2010 - People Search Results - About Me Property

    Hi,
    Currently, we have About Me showing in our People Search Results page.
    About Me is a User Profile Property that allows Users to specify information about themselves. This Profile Property is an HTML property and therefore may contain links/URLs. When About Me contains links/URLs, they appear as proper links in the User Profile.
    However, in the People Search Results page, they just appear as plain text. We would like them to appear as actual links similar to the User Profile.
    Is there a way to do this?
    Thanks!

    Hi Seth,
    I do know it uses XSLT and have modified this XSLT before for Business requirements.
    However, I'm not even sure if my question is something that can be fixed thru XSLT.
    In XSLT, it is only 1 line that shows the About Me text:
    <xsl:value-of select='substring(hithighlightedproperties/aboutme,1,350)' />
    So I'm not sure if there's any way else to achieve what we want.

  • Search Results Web Part, Managed Navigation and Paging

    I am using managed navigation and have a search results web part that uses the Term.IdWithChildren as the query to filter the results by the selected navigation term. This works nicely until you need to us the paging. As soon as you go to the next page there are
    no results.
    It would appear that as soon as the URL has the #k=#s=11 added it looses the navigation term. This is a core part of the Sharepoint solution that I'm delivering and I cannot progress this any further and I'm going round in circles. I have another results
    page that has the search results webpart on but doesn't use the navigation term filtering and the paging works fine.
    As an alternative I was looking at writing my own search results web part, can I do this and render the sharepoint display templates somehow?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Stuart

    Hi Stuart,
    i suppose you may need to check your design regarding this custom coding,
    as i know, when i tried previously, i didn't take any attention on the query result, so that it appear as no result.
    please have a check this links, it helped me once,

  • Display 'Modified By' property in search results

    Hello All,
    Can anybody help us to display the modified by information on search results.
    Current search results displaying 'Author'. But I want to display the user name who last modified the document.
    Please suggest.
    Thanks & Regards

    Hi,
    You will need to create a new 'metadata property' through search and map it as below (though there is 1 OOTB property but you cannot use it) -
    1) Create metadata property, say 'Modified By User' (text)
    2) Map it to - ows_Modified_x0020_By(Text) , ows_ModifiedBy(Text) , Office:8(Text)
    3) Run a full crawl
    4) After this, you need to modify the search results XSLT to add 'Modified By' in the results page. You will find good articles on this on MSDN/Technet (check here - https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/ms560074(v=office.14).aspx)

  • RH10: Snippets from resource manager show in search results

    I'm new to using the resource manager, so there's a good chance I've done something stupid here... but...
    I have 2 projects (I am the only tech writer, so running off one PC, no version control). I want to share snippets between the projects, so I'm using the resource manager to keep them synched up. Both are compiled as CHMs.
    When I search, I'm getting search results that appear to be the snippets in the results. When you double click them, they don't open.
    Here's a screenshot of what I'm seeing.
    Has anyone else seen this before? I'm using RH10.

    I have set up a test and cannot get snippets to show in search results.
    I am a little puzzled by the fact that you say they appear to be snippets, thus casting some doubt.
    Do you have snippets with those names and do the snippets contain the term being searched.
    Do you have topics with those names?
    Does it happen in a new project?
    Try creating a new SSL, not a duplicate.

  • IronPort Security Management Appliance - Directory Search Results Size

    I'm creating an access policy for a web security appliance that is applied to an authorized group within an idenity.  My question is in regards to the number of returned results when using the Directory search function to find and add the group.  Only the first 500 matching entries are shown and attempting to search for the group fails if it isn't part of that first 500.  How do I increase the amount of results returned when searching for groups?

    Hello Alex,
    By default, Active Directory does not respond to LDAP based queries which return more than 1000 results. If you have more than 1000 groups configured in Active Directory, it is necessary to increase the maximum page size (MaxPageSize) using the Ntdsutil.exe tool.
    http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;315071&sd=tech
    MaxPageSize - This value controls the maximum number of objects that are returned in a single search result, independent of how large each returned object is. To perform a search where the result might exceed this number of objects, the client must specify the paged search control. This is to group the returned results in groups that are no larger than the MaxPageSize value. To summarize, MaxPageSize controls the number of objects that are returned in a single search result.
    Default value: 1,000
    You can also simply input the group name and then click "Add" to manually add it as a workaround.
    Hope it helps.

  • How to change search result list entries?

    Hi together,
    I'd like to fit the TREX search result list to my own requirements. I've edit the Search Result Renderer Settings, Search Result Layout Set, Search Component Set and the Search Option Set. But that's not enough.
    1.) I would like to display the relevant index name, in which the document was found.
    2.) For special indexes (not for all!) I want to change the content link:
    For example: if TREX is finding an xml-File in index "abc_index" I would like to change the content link from
    "https://portalserver/irj/go/km/docs/folder/p76.xml" to
    "https://portalserver/irj/go/km/docs/folder/p76.htm"
    and from
    "https://portalserver/irj/go/km/docs/folder/p76_data.xml" to
    "https://portalserver/irj/go/km/docs/folder/p76.htm"
    3.) I'd like to display a special part of the document as a explanatory text in the result list.
    I think point 1 and 3 are possible with properties and HTML-extractors. But point 2 I'm afraid I have to create my own component.
    But how to manage this? I cannot find any code snippets or tutorials or pattern to copy and develop further.
    Is it possible or advised to write a WebDynpro? Are there other possibilities? I don't know how to start.
    I would be pretty delighted to get any idea...
    Thanks a lot
    Steffi

    Hi Stefanie
    1) If you want to be able to show the name instead, you should write your own property renderer. Heres the link for the documentation: https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/c739e546-0701-0010-53a9-a370e39a5a20 -> How to Implement Flexible UI
    Components -> Property Renderer
    2) Documentation will be send in a matter of minutes.
    3) I also think the web property extractors only work with the web repository manager, because as far as I know that is the only repository manager, where you can select a web property extractor upon creation. I guess you could open an OSS to SAP and ask if its not possible to extract properties in your scenario just to be sure if its not possible. But my guess is that you either have to develop your own repository manager or publish your files on a web server in order to meet your requirements.
    Best regards,
    Martin

  • Display Like and Share functionality in SharePoint 2013 search result

    Hello Experts,
    I dont Know whether i am asking a good question or bad one . but i am not very much expert in search.
    I have to display No of Likes , Share functionality in SharePoint Search Results.
    i know little basic about how display templates works. i want to implement these like and share functionality as actions  in Item_common_hoverpanel_Actions template. show that i can see in preview.
    please if any body can help me . i will be highly thankful to you.
    Mukesh

    This will be difficult. The number of likes has a managed property called LikesCount but it is not populated by the search crawler. So your JavaScript will have to read the "LikesCount" field of the corresponding list item. That would be a
    lot of code to execute in the item display template just to display the number of likes. You could have a button that displayed a callout that would get the information and display it. The Sharing could be done via JavaScript in your item display template
    using a REST call. You can see an example of code to do that here:
    http://sharepointfieldnotes.blogspot.com/2014/09/sharing-documents-with-sharepoint-rest.html?showComment=1428595550241#c3227376854590814312
    Just remember the user must have permission to share these documents, so your code will have to handle this.

  • How to create a Display template for people search results

    Hi,
    I've just installed Sharepoint 2013 and started to play around with it. Seems to be many improvements - among these are the ability to create Display templates.
    On my publishing page there is a default "employee lookup" app which returns prefferred name, title and department as default when I try to search.
    I would love to return mobile number aswell so I have tried to do the following:
    I made a copy of Display _Catalogs/Masterpages/Display Templates/Search/Item_Person.html
    Edited that one with the following:
    1. Added 'MobilePhone':'MobilePhone' to the "Managed Property mapping" in the top of the html   document:
    <mso:ManagedPropertyMapping msdt:dt="string">'AboutMe':'AboutMe','AccountName':'AccountName','BaseOfficeLocation':'BaseOfficeLocation','Department':'Department','HitHighlightedProperties':'HitHighlightedProperties','Interests':'Interests','JobTitle':'JobTitle','LastModifiedTime':'LastModifiedTime','Memberships':'Memberships','MobilePhone':'MobilePhone','PastProjects':'PastProjects','Path':'Path','PictureURL':'PictureURL','PreferredName':'PreferredName','Responsibilities':'Responsibilities','Schools':'Schools','ServiceApplicationID':'ServiceApplicationID','SipAddress':'SipAddress','Skills':'Skills','UserProfile_GUID':'UserProfile_GUID','WorkEmail':'WorkEmail','WorkId':'WorkId','YomiDisplayName':'YomiDisplayName'</mso:ManagedPropertyMapping>
    2. Set a var in the <body> with:
    var has_MobilePhone = !$isEmptyString(ctx.CurrentItem.MobilePhone);
    Created the following based on "DepartmentField":
    if(has_MobilePhone == true) {
    _#-->
    <div id="MobilephoneField">
    <!--#_
    var encodedMobilePhone = $htmlEncode(ctx.CurrentItem.MobilePhone);
    var displayMobilePhone = Srch.U.getSingleHHXMLNodeValue(hhProps, "MobilePhone");
    if ($isEmptyString(displayMobilePhone)) { displayMobilePhone = encodedMobilePhone}
    _#-->
    <div id="MobilePhoneValue" class="ms-srch-ellipsis" title="_#= encodedMobilePhone =#_"> _#= displayMobilePhone =#_ </div>
    </div>
    <!--#_
    Saved the document to the masterpage galary and edited the search result page to (people search core results webpart) to "use a single template to display items" and selected my display template.
    Now the search result is still working but I get no mobile numbers to show up in the user info (only in the details which is default).
    Anyone has some bright ideas of what i'm missing?. I'm not used to code (which might be the cause :-)). If you also have an idea on how to make the value of the number = Mobile: <mobilenumber>. So the "Mobile:" static text is displayed
    aswell.
    Thanks a lot for your time.

    Hello,
    I did the same with my new SharePoint 2013 (I would like to display the mobile phone too) but without any chance. Have you done anything else ?
    This is my User Property "CellPhone" :
    http://www.cladstrife.com/CellPhone_Prop.png
    The ManagedPropertyMapping :
    <mso:ManagedPropertyMapping msdt:dt="string">'AboutMe':'AboutMe','AccountName':'AccountName','BaseOfficeLocation':'BaseOfficeLocation','Department':'Department','HitHighlightedProperties':'HitHighlightedProperties','Interests':'Interests','JobTitle':'JobTitle','LastModifiedTime':'LastModifiedTime','Memberships':'Memberships','PastProjects':'PastProjects','Path':'Path','PictureURL':'PictureURL','PreferredName':'PreferredName','Responsibilities':'Responsibilities','Schools':'Schools','ServiceApplicationID':'ServiceApplicationID','SipAddress':'SipAddress','Skills':'Skills','UserProfile_GUID':'UserProfile_GUID','WorkEmail':'WorkEmail','WorkId':'WorkId','YomiDisplayName':'YomiDisplayName','CellPhone':'CellPhone','HomePhone':'HomePhone'</mso:ManagedPropertyMapping>
    The "if_exist" variable :
    var has_cphone = !$isEmptyString(ctx.CurrentItem.CellPhone);
    And the "display" code :
    <!--#_
    if(has_cphone == true) {
    _#-->
    <div id="CPhoneField">
    <!--#_
    var encodedCPhone = $htmlEncode(ctx.CurrentItem.CellPhone);
    var displayCPhone = Srch.U.getSingleHHXMLNodeValue(hhProps, "CellPhone");
    if ($isEmptyString(displayCPhone)) { displayCPhone = encodedCPhone}
    _#-->
    <div id="CPhoneValue" class="ms-srch-ellipsis" title="_#= encodedCPhone =#_"> Mobile: _#= displayCPhone =#_ </div>
    </div>
    <!--#_
    _#-->
    If I delete the test lines in the display code (if(has_cphone == true) it show "Mobile:" but without any mobile number.
    Thanks for your help if any idea :)
    Best regards
    Gabriel
