Managed bean methods

how can i set a page that calls a method of a managed bean each time the page is requested?

Not sure at what point you would like that to happen in the life cycle of a page.
Do a serach on this forum for keyword "onpageloadbegin" and you'll get some ideas assuming posted responses match your needs.

I have a Page Template and inside this page template is a popup screen which is common to all my

Manage bean methods not able to call application module methods

Hi,
I have an ADF application where in my managed bean method needs to call AppModuleImpl methods. I use the code as below:
public void getSummary() {
DCBindingContainer binding = (DCBindingContainer)BindingContext.getCurrent().getCurrentBindingsEntry();
OperationBinding op = binding.getOperationBinding("getVOData");
op.execute();
The code works fine when I run the application in my IntegratedWeblogicServer and I am able to get the data on my .jsp pages.
I have installed weblogic server on another machine and I need to deploy and run my application on that server. But when I try doing that, the above code is not able to call the AppModule method and I see no data on my page (Also there is no error or exceptin thrown). Seems that the ViewController project is not able to interact with the Model project.
Is there any extra configuration to be done on the newly installed weblogic server to get this work? Or will some change in the application code help?

While creating the weblogic domain, we had the following checkboxes checked:
1. Basic weblogic server domain [wlserver_10.3]
2. Oracle JRF [oracle_common]

Is it possible to call any Managed Bean method from af:goLink

I am using RichGoLink component.
Is it possible to call a managed bean method on click of the af:goLink? I want to provide some validations when user clicks on the goLink.
There is no any actionListener provided.

Hi,
I am able to resolve my second problem also.
i wanted to set the "destination" of the goLink on the fly. To do this I created a custom componnt by extending the RichGoLink and I override the encodeBegin method in that class. In this method i check my condition and then set the "destination" property.
I am still using the clientListener and the serverListerner to do some further testing that i wanted to. Here one thing you have to keep in mind that. In the javascript function that we are calling in the clientListener should not do the "cancel" on the event object, if you do so it will not navigate to the required position.

Use an ajaxical JSF framework, for example Ajax4jsf (part of RichFaces).
But why don´t you just use the constructor of the bean class to do some stuff prior to page loading?

Can't get JSF to access managed bean methods from web page

I'm using NetBeans 6.7.1 and Glassfish v2.1
Having problems here can somebody please help? It is really
frustrating because I have written apps like this before in fact I
used one as a model to create an even simpler app and still can't get
it to work. I ran it through the debugger and it stops in the
constructor so it looks like the bean object is being created, but the
setUid method and the testit method are not being entered when I click
on the enter commandbutton. Can somebody PLEASE give me an idea as to

Using managed bean method in expression builder

Hello,
I'm new to adf and I have the following problem.
I have a managed bean in session scope that has the following method:

I have a page that has a link. Using the expression builder and according the function result I want to make the link bold or not.
I use the expression #{sessionScope.backing_pages_index.alertMessages ?'bold':'normal'} but it does'n work.

If you add your bean as sessionScope No need to add sessionScope to EL front,and should setter and getter for alertMessages
use *font-weight:#{backing_pages_index.alertMessages ? 'bold':'normal'}*

Oracle ADF 11g : Invoke managed bean method on page resize.

Given the following code:

Something like:

getElementWidth is a javascript method in my current code, while columnSizeBean is a sessionScope bean that is doing some computations on a table column width.

Hi,
no there is not. However, in this case you can use vanilla JavaScript and register to the browser DOM to receive the event notification. If you rceive the notification you access the server Listener you put on the af:document component. This should work

How to get ADF UI Component value in managed bean

JDev version 11.1.1.1.3.0
I have written a managed bean method and calling that method on valueChangeEvent of a Select boolean Checkbox ADF Component.
I want to retreive the value of some other component located in the same page as the checkbox. I need the value of the component into the manged bean. I know how to get the value of the checkbox eg:

How can I access the value of an input text component in the above managed bean ? Can someone help on this?

The above coding will work fine
but wht u have specified rowId???? whether the "value" field is inside a af:table????? if so i have doubt on the above code's working.....

ADF Faces: How to get the ADF BindingContainer in a managed bean?

I not sure how to get the BindingContainer instance from inside of a managed bean method. I have tried the following config, but it does not work in all situations.

Maybe I just need another pair of eyes but when I set this up as explained and watch it in the debugger my method public void setBindingContainer(DCBindingContainer bc) gets called but bc is null. Can anyone help?

Catch SOAP Reply in Managed Bean

Dear All,
I am developing an application that calls a web service. My question is, is it possible for me to have my managed bean method be called when the we service soap response is returned?
I wanted to basically inspect the SOAP envelope but currently I dont have any idea on how to go about doing what I want.
Any ideas please? Thanks.

Hi,
You can intercept both SOAP request and response of the web service call using a SOAPHandler.
Basically, you will need a Handler class, something like:
public class LogHandler implements SOAPHandler<SOAPMessageContext> {Along with this, you will need to define a @HandlerChain annotation on your service class which should point to the handler file:

Rendered Property calling managed bean Multiple Times

Hi
We have a problem within a command button in a jspx, which includes a rendered tag which references a managed bean method via EL.
e.g.
rendered="#{PERUserInfo.trainee}"
When I debug the jspx, the PERUserInfo.trainee method is called 4 times instead of once.
We have noticed similar findings when using managed bean methods via the rendered property. i.e. calls getters multiple times.
Any idea why this is happening?
We are using JDeveloper v10.1.3, JHS v10.1.3 SU1.
All comments appreciated.

Denis,
There can be many reasons why your bean method is called multiple times; but I would consider this perfectly normal in any JSF application considering all the lifecycles and (possible) Partial Page Rendering that happens.
The question is, by the way, more appropriate on the JDeveloper forum since it is not directly related to JHeadstart itself.

How to programmatically Identify the Phase from a managed bean

How can we identify the Phase from a normal managed bean method ?
This managed bean method is a method activity in a task-flow. How can we identify the phase..?
If there is an event then, we can identify the phase using event.getPhaseId() but here there is no event. Can I get the phase programmatically ?

You won't need that with a PhaseListener. You could use something like the following:

How to call a AM method with parameters from Managed Bean?

I have a situation where I need to call AM method (setDefaultSubInv) from Managed bean, under Value change Listner method. Here is what I am doing, I have added AM method on to the page bindings, then in bean calling this

This works and able to call this method if there are no parameters. Say I have to pass a parameter to AM method setDefaultSubInv(String a), i tried calling this from the bean but throws an error

1- Make your Method in Client Interface.
2- Add it to Page Def.
