Managed Server not accepting HTTP requests
We restarted our managed server (it had Oracle Identity Analytics deployed) and received an error after the application came up (pasted below). The application seems to be running but when I attempt to access it I'm getting a Page Not Found error. I deleted the OIA deployment altogether and just started the Managed Server and, though it is Running, I'm seeing the same error and still getting Page Not Found.
I also restarted the AdminServer and now I'm seeing the same symptoms there. At this point the environment is completely inaccessible. Any ideas on what may be wrong or what the solution may be?

Sun App Server 9 not accepting HTTP/0.9 requests
I'm trying to set up the application server to accept HTTP/0.9 requests. I've tried changing the HTTP Protocol version from HTTP/1.1 to HTTP/0.9 but it doesn't seem to do anything.
I'm running Sun Java System Application Server Platform Edition 9.0_01
Here is the error that I'm receiving:
HTTP/1.1 505 HTTP Version Not Supported
Content-Type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1
Date: Tue, 19 Jun 2007 13:07:34 GMT
Server: Sun Java System Application Server Platform Edition 9.0_01
Can anyone shed some light on this? Thanks.

How can I tell if my local webserver is configured to accept https requests?
I have phpMyAdmin on my localhost server.
How can I tell if the localhost server is configured to accept https requests? Or is that unnecessary on a localhost server?
Below is the info from the phpMyAdmin home page:
Server: 127.0.0.1 via TCP/IP
Server version: 5.0.81
Protocol version: 10
Apache/2.2.20 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.20 OpenSSL/0.9.8r DAV/2 PHP/5.3.6
MySQL client version: mysqlnd 5.0.8-dev - 20102224 - $Revision: 308673 $
PHP extension: mysqli
phpMyAdmin
Version information: 3.3.1
Many thanks for information and advice concerning this.
Best,
SheleyWell, for one, by definition, localhost can only ever be accessed from the machine itself. It doesn't get any more secure than that.
However, just because you're hitting the site on localhost that doesn't mean that Apache isn't also listening for connections on other IP addresses. In fact, by default, Apache will listen on all IP addresses configured on the machine.
Therefore you might want to look a little deeper.
You can see from the phpMyAdmin output that Apache is configured to support HTTPS, but that only tells you whether apache knows how to speak HTTPS, not whether the current connection/request is using HTTPS.
The shortest, simplest answer to your question is to try. If you can hit https://localhost/ then, yes, Apache is listening and responding to HTTPS requests. If it doesn't respond then it isn't.
Or dig through the configuration files, but I'm guessing if you knew how to do that, you wouldn't be asking the question. -
regarding mountain lion server: clients experience intermittent service connections. the server system log has the following error- Client handshake failed (6):113: Server not accepting client connections. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated - thank you
Hi Jason
I was getting the same behavior after Apple support had me delete some plist files to get Airplay going. I was also getting the following error:
the error occurred while processing a command of type 'writesettings' in the plug-in 'server vpn'
I went into ~/Library/Preferences/ and /Library/Preferences/ and deleted every plist contating the word server. I had to re-set up my server (meaning walk through some intial steps) but all of my settings were still there after that and everything started working again.
Just a thought, obviously try at your own risk but it worked for me.

Use Server Cert in Managed server not working
I am using WebLogic 10.3.3 for a managed server with a jks keystore and jrockit cacert as the Custom Identity and Java Standard Trust. I have the FQDN as the alias for the server in the keystore. Under Advanced, I have checked Use Server Cert so outgoing web service calls from my deployed application will use the server cert as its identifier. I have used this configuration before, but it is not working this time.
At first, there were some weird Unsupported OID messages when loading the cacerts, but I was able to clear those messages up. Now, when the managed server comes up, the keystore and cacert file load without error, but the outgoing calls do NOT have the certificate included.
I have no failures regarding the certificates in any of the output files. I have tried two separate keystore files without change. Any help would be appreciated.You can re-create the SSL handshake with a command line java app that uses the same keystores. Is it possible that the service you're invoking is no longer requesting the client cert?
The command line uses a linux script and a java app:
--- linux script:
#!/bin/sh
CLIENT_KEYSTORE="full path to your server's identity keystore"
TRUST_STORE=$JAVA_HOME/jre/lib/security/cacerts
echo "Make sure you're using the right trust store..."
echo $TRUST_STORE
echo
echo "Enter trust store password"
read -s trustpass
echo
echo "Enter client keystore password for $CLIENT_KEYSTORE"
read -s keypass
SSL_OPTIONS="-Djavax.net.ssl.trustStore=$TRUST_STORE "
SSL_OPTIONS="$SSL_OPTIONS -Djavax.net.ssl.trustStorePassword=$trustpass "
SSL_OPTIONS="$SSL_OPTIONS -Dssl.debug=true -Dweblogic.StdoutDebugEnabled=true "
SSL_OPTIONS="$SSL_OPTIONS -Djavax.net.debug=ssl,handshake,verbose "
SSL_OPTIONS="$SSL_OPTIONS -Djavax.net.ssl.keyStore=$CLIENT_KEYSTORE "
SSL_OPTIONS="$SSL_OPTIONS -Djavax.net.ssl.keyStorePassword=$keypass "
javac SSL_Test.java
java -D $SSL_OPTIONS SSL_Test > client_ssl.out
---- java source:
import java.net.*;
import java.io.*;
public class SSL_Test {
public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception {
// https://someserver.net:999/someservice?wsdl
URL verisign = new URL( "address of the wsdl" );
System.out.println( "Opening URL: " + verisign.toString() ) ;
BufferedReader in = new BufferedReader(
new InputStreamReader(
verisign.openStream()));
String inputLine;
while ((inputLine = in.readLine()) != null)
System.out.println(inputLine);
in.close();
to run this, just run the commEnv.sh script to set up your java and then run the script.
This has been very useful to me in the past in diagnosing ssl connectivity issues. -
Server keeps refusing HTTP request while uploading file
Hello, I have written an applet that uses sockets to communicate with HTTP server. I use following string to send a HTTP request to a server:
req = "POST /!pages/upload.php HTTP/1.1\r\n";
req += "Host: www.austyn.sk\r\nUser-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; sk; rv:1.8.1.6) Gecko/20070725 Firefox/2.0.0.6\r\n";

req += "Accept-Language: sk,cs;q=0.8,en-us;q=0.5,en;q=0.3\r\n";
req += "Accept-Charset: ISO-8859-1,utf-8;q=0.7,*;q=0.7\r\n";
req += "Keep-Alive: 300\r\n";
req += "Connection: keep-alive\r\n";
req += "Referer: http://www.upnito.sk/\r\n";
req += "Content-Length: 500\r\n";
req += "Content-Type: multipart/form-data;boundary=007\r\n";
req += "--007\r\n";
req += "Content-Disposition: form-data; name=\"subor\"; filename=\"msvcp80.txt\"\r\n";
req += "Content-Type: text/plain\r\n\n";
req += "abcdef\r\n";
req += "--007--\r\n\r\n";I get response like this:

I used the Live HTTP headers extension on Firefox and even a packet sniffer to get the entire communication between server and client during HTTP upload and I wrote the request string according to that. It seems, that the server doesn't like the first boundary --007, which marks the beginning of the form element..
So what's wrong with that request string?

Managed server not able to join the cluster
Hi
I have two storage node enabled coherence servers on two different machines.These two are able to form the cluster without any problem. I also have two Managed servers. When I start one, will join the cluster without any issue but when I start the fourth one which does not join the cluster. Only one Managed server joins the cluster. I am getting the following error.

{Hi,
By default Coherence uses a multicast protocol to discover other nodes when forming a cluster. Since you are having difficulties in establishing a cluster via multicast, Can you please perform a multicast test and see if multicast is configured properly.
http://wiki.tangosol.com/display/COH32UG/Multicast+Test
Hope you are using same configuration files across the cluster members and all members of the cluster must specify the same cluster name in order to be allowed to join the cluster.
<cluster-name system-property="tangosol.coherence.cluster";>xxx</cluster-name>
I would suggest, try using the unicast-listener with the well-known-addresses instead of muticast-listener.
http://wiki.tangosol.com/display/COH32UG/well-known-addresses
Add similar entries like below in your tangosol override xml..
<well-known-addresses>
<socket-address id="1">
<address> 172.23.34.91<;/address>
<port>8190</port>
</socket-address>
<socket-address id="2">
<address> 172.23.34.74<;/address>
<port> 8090</port>
</socket-address>
</well-known-addresses>
This list is used by all other nodes to find their way into the cluster without the use of multicast, thus at least one well known node must be running for other nodes to be able to join.
Hope this helps!!
Thanks,
Ashok.

Thank you Nicolas.To be honest I've never tried to leave it blank in previous releases, thought that was mandatory (it was not prompted in psadmin menu as it is with PT8.53).
I don't have a PTools 8.53 instance in hands right now, but after a quick test over here on PT8.51, I have the same issue as yours.
Let me also remind you that there are two separate scenarios that may be received via the sign-on page:
1.) "The application server is down" status message without the "bea.jolt.ServiceException: TPESVCERR - server error while handling request" error.
2.) "The application server is down" status message including the "bea.jolt.ServiceException: TPESVCERR - server error while handling request" error.As I said earlier, you should get more clue in the webserver logfiles.

Hi,
I have just the same problem. I am trying to start a managed server on the SAME machine,
from the SAME domain, from the SAME directory. Therefore they use the SAME filerealm.properties
I guess that there must be something else than checking that both servers are configured
with the same system password ...
We are using WebLogic 6.1 and Portal Server 4.0 on top of it. We have configured
LDAP Realm V1. Admin server starts OK.
Thank you for any relevant input.

Squid doesn't accept https requests
I have a server running Arch i686 and installed squid as a web proxy server. I can connect to it through, say Firefox, and it serves all the pages except SSL'ed ones.
It simply throws a generic Firefox error. What do I need to enable in my squid.conf so that squid will forward the https requests to their intended destinations?Oh, I see... Avoiding man-in-the-middle attacks is nice and everything, but I still need a way of sending https requests through a proxy. Here's why:
At work, they are using this "websense" content filtering thing and it blocks everything! Not just nsfw stuff, but even some news pages etc. For example, I couldn't access the link you've just posted, because it is blocked under the category "proxy avoidance". See my problem?
Any ideas on what I can do? -
Managed server not showing health status on AdminServer
Hello - we are running into a situation where, in the admin console some nodes do not show a Health status. Most of the other nodes show "OK".
Weblogic Version: 12c
OS : RedHat Enterprise 6.0
Drilling down to figure this out, we attach using WLST to the node itself, goto the serverRuntim() section to look at the status, we we see the following:
wls:/domain/serverConfig> serverRuntime()
Location changed to serverRuntime tree. This is a read-only tree with ServerRuntimeMBean as the root.
For more help, use help(serverRuntime)
wls:/domain/serverRuntime> ls()
dr-- ApplicationRuntimes
dr-- AsyncReplicationRuntime
dr-- WseeWsrmRuntime
Traceback (innermost last):

The managed server may not be connected to the admin server

wls:/domain/serverRuntime>
When connecting to other nodes on the same machine, we see lots of great information. This tells me that the node is unable to talk to the Admin server correctly. Yet, stopping and starting the node from the admin server works fine (and is out current way to resolve the issue).
Ideas on where to look for the underlying cause of this problem?
Or how to force the node to attempt to reconnect to the Admin server?
Thanks.Hi,
It could be if server came out of cluster due to issue with cluster and connection between admin server and managed server broke. At such stage even if server is healthy, it will not present in admin server or will be shown as failed.
To start with did you first checked if your server is UP and taking request. This you can achieve by doing any of the below,
1. PING test to managed server. It will show if there are any packet loss.
2. Check server access log to confirm if it is serving request in the runtime.
3. "telnet" to the ip:port pair and also check if process id is alive.
Also check server logs for cluster error. If server is healthy but not presented in admin console, then only restarting the server will re-create communication between admin server and managed server which will then display correct status on console. And if server itself is down, go for server restart.
Thanks,
Ranjan -

Weblogic server to server loadbalancing for Http requests
Hi
we have a domain consisting of 3 clusters (weblogic 9.2 mp3)
FE--> has a monolithic app using both JSPs ejb
JMS--> Provides Messgaing services to FE and hosts dsitributed JMS destinations
security --> provides security services to FE (This is a new cluster we are adding to the existing domain)
Our clients interact with FE through a h/w load balancer and IIS hosting IIS plugin.
FE interacts with JMS using comma sperated url list
Now , new requirement is for The FE cluster to send http requests to the security cluster
How do I load balance these requests and have failover in case one node in the security cluster goes down?
Traditionally these methods are used for client to server load balancing but our use case is different so I am wondering how to accomplish this.
Options I came up with are
using a HttpCluster servlet (but you hav eto run a separate weblogic instance just for that)
using another h/w load balancer in front of this security cluster
I am trying to see if there are any other options to accomplish this .Also trying to understand pros and cons and which of this is reccomended for Production environments
Appreciate any comments/feedback on this
Thanks
BestUsing HTTPClusterServlet is not recommeded to be used in Prod.
To load balance the request going to the security cluster, you can simply use a webserver infornt of the cluster.
Failover is taken care of by the Cluster itself so you dont have to worry about that.... -
AST Gateway Manager Server not available
I have installed the latest AST (new install, not an upgrade) without any issues. The Gateway Manager, however, is unable to connect to the server. The ADR Server URL was pre-populated and is https://adr.apple.com/services/ws/capture. After entering in my information and clicking save, the Authentication Status goes from Authenticating to Server Not Available, and I get a giant red bar across the screen saying ADR Server Not Available.
The computer is running Mountain Lion Server with all of the latest patches. The machine is online. I can browse to any website I want. I can't figure out why it can't contact the ADR Server. Does anyone have any ideas?I realize this is an older thread, but I happened upon it when searching for an answer. I noticed that my MRI results weren't getting uploaded to Apple. I also had the giant red bar across the screen saying ADR Server Not Available.
My problem was that I had updated my password for GSX recently and had not put the new password into the settings of the dianostic Gateway. As soon as I updated the password I was able to authenticate and my problems dissapeared.
