Managing a custom property through the console

I'd like to create a boolean property that I mange through the console. It is
basically a timing mechanism that I need to be able to turn on and off without
recompiling or restarting the WLS server. I've done some looking at the documentation,
but I can't see where I could create my own custom property...
We are using 5.1 right now and plan to migrate to 6.0 within the next month.

The user names are stored in table USR01. IN that table see if you can add a field to have region. Extract this table and store it in User info object in BW.
You will need a ABAP person to do this, if you are new to SAP.

in the GNOME Keyboard properties, there is the option "Key presses repeat when key is held down" option. How can I set this option without GNOME, Any Xorg pros here that can help me? Maybe with setxkbmap? But I don't see what option I must use there. Or do I need a xorg.conf setting? I've read all the man pages.
Why do I need this? I have a game running on a seperate XServer in wine that only works properly when that setting is disabled.

It looks to me like you are using a console cable. The reason you usually see them the other way around is because with a console cable the RJ-45 end goes into the device (an ethernet jack labeled console) whereas on this switch the console port is serial itself.
Usually the serial end of the cable you have plugs into a USB to serial adapter (because most computers today don't have serial ports anymore) and that USB connection goes into your PC, creating the virtual COM port you need in HyperTerminal.
So if you get a USB to Serial adapter you could plug that from USB to the console port, or if you computer has a serial port of its own just connect a serial cable directly from the PC to the switch, then use HyperTerminal with the settings recommended above by Tom.

Can i add a servlet through the console in weblogic v6.0

can i add a servlet details through the console. or is editing the
          weblogic.xml and web.xml files is the only option.

You can add a webapp using console but not a servlet individually.

How do you programmatically register custom tags through the adminapi?

I am not able to find much documentation out on the net on how to write codes to programmatically register custom tags through the adminapi (extensions.cfc). The only examples I have been seeing involve setting up datasources. Any advice you can provide is appreciated. Thanks.

Short answer:
The problem is that the login method is a bit goofy in that it requires the password first and the username second. Assuming you are using a valid password (and not the string "password" you are showing), reversing them should solve your problem.
Long answer:
As background for those interested, in order to call any method in any of the Admin API CFCs, one does have to log in programmatically, providing a valid CF Admin password, or password/username combination if you have enabled multiple user logins for the CF Admin. (Multiple user logins in the Admin is an optional feature since CF 8.)
If one does not setup multiple user names, then you only need to pass a password to the login method (just as on the login page of the CF Admin). Technically, the default username in that case is "admin", and you can specify it if you want to, but again it has to be password then username, on this login method. (The Admin API was added in CF 7, before the multiple usernames feature was added, so it looks like they just added it as a new argument.)
You can learn more about multiple user logins in the CF Admin (and an option to change or remove the default "admin" username) an Adobe DevCenter article linked to from http://www.carehart.org/articles/#2009_1.
Note finally that the username/password field values are case-sensitive, even on Windows, and the default username really is "admin" not "Admin".
This discussion of needing to login is documented on the page that Adam pointed to (see the "using" and "examples" sections of the page). There's even a comment from someone pointing out the need to put them in password/username order (because it's not mentioned in the docs). I also just added a comment there about the case sensitivity, either of which could bite someone. Let's hope they update the docs in the next release to clarify both these points.

How to add a custom property to the user's master record?

I would like to add a custom property to the user's master record which is unique to our company (User's region).
Is that possible? and if yes, how?
I'm a bit new to BW so a step-by-step procedure will help

Configuration of LDAP through the Console

I am trying to create a customized object class to meet our specific needs on <b>LDAP - iplanet.</b> Everytime I try to add the customized object class to the users in an OU I get a message of Object class violation. I am not a programmer therefore I work out of the console.
I need help as I need to configure LDAP to receive HR data that is then going to be sychronized with our CUA master client for user creation.

Alert Management - Does not trigger through the BOR BUS2012 Change.

We have a requirement : On PO change Alert should be sent to UWL, to start working on it, we just configured it to SAP workplace.
Now when we do any change, mail is not sent to the workplace, at the same time if I use the program RSALERTTEST, we get the responce on workplace.

Start managed server on the console problem

I use the weblogic server 6.1 sp1 on the microsoft NT 4.0 and 2000 server
sp2, But i have a problem.
When i use the default setting to start the administration server and node
managed, Then i try to start the managed server on the console, Then

server'server622' via Node Manager - reason: '[SecureCommandInvoker: Could
not create a socket to the NodeManager running on host 'myIPAddress:5555' to
execute command 'online null', reason: Connection refused: connect. Ensure
that the NodeManager on host 'myIPAddress' is configured to listen on port
'5555' and that it is actively listening]'>
All of the configuration setting ( include the startWeblogic and
startNodeManagerWeblogic ) is defuault.
But when i install the Sun JDK 1.3.1_20 on those machines, It's fine to
start the managed server on the console, Although it's failure now again, i
don't know why ( coz, i uninstall weblogic and jdk then install it again ).
Anyone have this problem, could tell me how to solve it, Thx.

I want to be sure I understand because I was a little unclear at the end. You
did successfully get the managed server to start from the console after you
installed jdk1.3.1? Be sure your PATH variable contains the correct java bin
directory. Are you failing again now that you reinstalled WLS and the JDK?

According to your description, you want to manage term custom property in SharePoint 2010.
As you know, there is no OOTB method to meet your requirement.
If you want to do it without coding, you can take a look at this tool about managing term store:

MBeans and the console

I have 2 questions about JMX in jeneral and the consloe specific.
1. how do I 'register' the MBean with the WebLogic MBean management system? in
Sun JMX implementation you do
server = MBeanServerFactory.createMBeanServer();
server.createMBean(mbeanClassName,mbeanObjectName);
How will this be done in WL, Will just deploying the bean will recognize the MBean
functionality and will do it automatically?
2. Through what can I manage the MBeans? I was able to manage the WL server
MBeans through the command tool (and of course the admin console), will I be able
to manage MY MBeans through the Console (somehow add them to the console components?)
or using the command line admin tool?, or it will only work with a client software?

With the current version of WLS 60 sp1, registering custom mbeans on the server and then
checking the values/ accessing them through the console is not supported. This would be
added in some future releases.

Adding Custom Property to Files

I am trying to add a custom property to file in a repository and I am apparently missing something.
I have created a custom property and and metadata extension for the language files. I add the property to the property group custom. I added the custom property to the folder display under presentations fine.
The issue is when I hit the details of the files I can not find anywhere where my customer property show up...
Any ideas??

Looks like you have done everything correctly. The property should show up under custom tab. I would recommend going through the following PDF and see if you missed anything.

I assume you tried to get (download/import) it directly through the console, right? That's not recommended since you most of the times don't get the guides (download) or can review the MP (import).
