Manual Data entry

Hello,
I'm in the process of transitioning from a paper procedure process to SAP router and POs. The procedures have many many pages for the operator to record data. What is the best way to convert this into SAP? I'm looking at inspection characteristics, the two problems I see with this, is the amount of time to create hundreds and the time it for the operator to input the data.
Any suggestions?

  • User needs to see only one E&A database for manual data entry

    Hi Experts
Please can you suggest a solution for the following requirement.
Requirement is that when a user log in to the Entry & Approval to entry the manual KPIs he should see only the one database which he is allowed to instead of drop-down and select the database which he has to enter the data as multiple models are created to Entry& Approval and Scorecards.
Tried to create model connection for the model and assigned to the user and when i login with that users also all the databases are visible and have to select a database from the list of databases available for entry&approval.
    Thanking you,
    Regards

  • Excel Table with Data Connection Manual Text Entry Misaligned After Refresh

    Greetings!
I have an Excel 2010 workbook that includes a table linked to my SharePoint 2013 site by a data connection. The SharePoint list feeds the table standard information that's managed on the SharePoint site, but I need the user of the Excel workbook to be able
to enter text manually in the workbook to associate local information with the line-items coming from the SharePoint list. To do this, I've added extra columns to the end of the table.
The user can enter information in the appropriate cells in the "extra" columns at the end of the table, but when I refresh the data connection, the addition of a new list item on the SharePoint side results in the user's manually entered text getting
out of alignment with the row it's supposed to be associated with.
    Example
    Column 1(SP)
    Column 2(Extra)
    Row 1
    Item 1
    Row 2
    Item 2
    Text entered for Item 2
    Row 3
    Item 3
Then, if I add a new item to the list in SharePoint, for example, something that would appear between the original items 1 & 2, after refreshing the table, I get the following:
    Column 1(SP)
    Column 2(Extra)
    Row 1
    Item 1
    Row 2
    New Item 1.5
    Text entered for Item 2
    Row 3
    Item 2
    Row 4
    Item 3
The table's data connection is set to insert rows for new items, and I could swear I had this working properly once upon a time...but I can't seem to make it work now.
Any thoughts on what would cause this?
    Thanks in advance!

Yes, it is. I realized after posting the first time, that I'd assigned the question to the Visio forum. I wasn't sure how to reassign to the correct (Excel) forum, so I re-posted over there:

  • Looking for a browser or app with one click data entry

One thing I miss on the iPad is the ability to quickly enter information in web sites like my name, e-mail, etc. For example, Firefox for windows has an add-on called "InFormEnter" which places a check box next to each data entry block. Clicking on it allows entry of the information with one additional click. I know that some iPad password managers will remember this info, but most seem to require entering a password each time you use it.
Mercury browser for the iPad remembers data for visited sites but seems to require manual input for every new site.
Is there an app or browser for iPad that will work without entering a password or requiring manual input for every new site?

The subscription version of LastPass has formfill capability and syncs information from your LastPass account that works on multiple platforms/OSs.

  • Two step confirmation with RF device (Mobile Data Entry) - 1st step only

    Hello
I want to implement the following scenario:
    - WM transfer orders are created, relevant for two step confirmation;
    - a user working with RF device confirms the 1st step - picking;
    - then the materials are transported physically to another building (the same warehouse number);
    - another user working with RF device confirms the 2nd step - putaway.
For confirming the 1st step I tried to use standard transaction LM07. Confirmation of the 1st step is working fine but right after that a screen for confirming the 2nd step is displayed to the user. I would like this transaction to finish just after confirming the 1st step and not to proceed with the 2nd step immediately - because the confirmation of the 2nd step should be done by another user (with some other transaction).
What is more: if you exit the transaction manually after confirming the 1st step the system saves the TO number (in table LRF_WKQU) and in some circumstances triggers the screen for confirming the 2nd step even if you do not run LM07 - this is so called "recovery" function which is a nuisance in my case.
So my question is: is there a way to customize LM07 so that it finished processing automatically right after confirming the 1st step for a two step confirmation TO ? (and without storing data for "recovery" function). Or maybe some other mobile-data-entry transaction should be used for that ?

    Hi Vlad,
One more information, which i would like to communicate on this issue.
We have raised OSS message to SAP on this issue. They have replied back that, on screen 1302, we have some custom code which is interfering with the system behavior.
As of now, we have analyzed at our end, and we found that, the enhancement at screen 1302 is restricted for the functionality, and in theory, this enhancement should not be effecting at all the system behavior.
SAP has suggested to test the scenario , without any enhancement on screen 1302.
Still we are in discussion with SAP, and try to find out the resolution.
Can you also check in your system, if you have any enhancement on screen 1302 ? And if yes, does it interfering with the stander SAP codes.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Raj.

  • Manual data input in a loop

    Hey all,
I'm  wondering how to input manual data into a loop (control string).
At the press of a button, my program records various other data (time/strain/ stress/ etc...) but before the loop ends, I want it manually type in a value (pressure) since it doesnt have a digital output. I was wondering how I could write the loop so that it won't continue UNTIL a value has been filled in and, for example the "ok" button has been pressed.
    thanks

  • Date Entry Fields

    Hi,
We are trying to improve the functionality of the Forte date entry
fields. Currently you can set the template to allow either 2-digit or
4-digit year entry. If you enter an invalid date Forte will display an
error message telling you this when you tab off the field.
Does anyone know if it is possible to disable this error message?
What we want to do is have a date entry field that accepts 2 or 4 digit
year. If you enter the date as 01/12/00 the system will assume you mean
2000 and display 01/12/2000. If this is not what you meant you can
re-enter the date as 01/12/1900. Is this possible with the Forte
    widgets?

    Jason,
Yes this is possible. You need to create a CustomDateTimeData class(inherits
from DateTimeNullable, DateTimeData, DateTimeDomain depending on your needs)
which you override FillString and SetValue methods. Using template
functionality is not flexible enough for your needs, so the FillString
method will make sure that the Value of the CustomDateTimeData is always
shown a standard way on Windows. The SetValue method will have the
intelligence to decide on how to store the entered value depending on what
the user enters and raise exceptions when needed.
So when you use the CustomDataTimeData on your windows it will automatically
call the FillString and SetValue methods when a value is changed or
    displayed.
Read the online help on FillString & SetValue for further details or contact
me if you have any more questions.

    Hi,
Yes, that is used to set the 'watermark' at which Forte will change
between 1900 and 2000 years when 2-digits are entered.
The problems is we currently have our widgets set to accept 4 digits.
This means the user MUST type in 1-9-0-1 or 2-0-0-1. What I want it to
do is allow the user to enter 0-1 and then display 2-0-0-1, and then
overtype it with 1-9-0-1 if they wish, but instead you get the Forte
error message if you only enter 2-digits.
Do you know if this is possible?

  • Data Entry Tab for Numeric Indicator does not Exist

    Hi
I'm trying to set the data range for numeric indicators on LabVIEW 10.0.1. For some reason when I go to properties of my numeric indicator, there is no Data Entry Tab as explained on the NI website: http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/371361H-01/lvhowto/changing_data_ranges_of_nu/. Also, in the data type tab, there is a section for range but everything is grayed out. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

    Hi
    Thanks for the replies
I just realized that data entry on a numeric indicator doesn't really make sense. But my question is, how do I go about setting data range for a numeric indicator? Based on this tutorial : http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/320998a.pdf (Page 128/250) in the older versions there seems to be a data range tab or option when you write click the indicator. In my case, the range is greyed out and I tried to play with it with no avail.
    Thanks very much

  • Searchable Data Entry Screen in Apex

Similar to Oracle Forms, how can I make a searchable data entry screen in Oracle Apex, where user can query the data on any field.

    Hi Debraj,
The simplest method would be to create an Interactive Report page. Have a look at: [http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14373_01/appdev.32/e13367/build_app.htm#insertedID4]. There is no special setup that you need to do to get the search functionality - it's all part of the Interactive Report.
If you wish to use a standard report, the search functionality would have to be created from scratch - this is possible to do but would require you to create individual page items for each field you want to allow searching on and you would also have to manually update the report's SQL statement to apply the filters. This is relatively easy to do, if that is what you require.

  • FC - Cross-category validation in Central Manual Journal Entries

    Hello experts,
At a client site we are implementing several different reporting categories.  There are requirements to validate certain accounts between categories.
Within the packages this is working fine - example:
But when used in Central Journals the controls behave differently.
In our issue there is a JE posted on the Category "IFRS-ACT".  We then try to post a journal on a different category (same ledger) and want to validate to make sure we are balanced between both.
The control runs OK and recognises that there is a difference between the amounts stored in the separate categories but does not bring the amount stored on the category that it is validating against:
Can anyone offer any advice on how to resolve the issue?  Or is it not possible?
    Many thanks!

    Hello,
This is a known behavior. Controls and formulas using
external data (data from another category) are not applied to local and central manual
    journal entries.

  • E-Recruiting Workflow after Data Entry Error

    Greetings,
The E-Recruiting Workflow after Data Entry Error enables you to change and internal or external application that was entered manually.  If for example, you enter the application to the incorrect reference code, you can assign a different one.  As a result the status of the original application is set to rejected with the status reason of "Replaced by new Application".
My question is why doesn't the candidacy also get set to rejected?  Although the application is rejected, the candidacy is still in process and so this candidate will continue to show on the Candidate Shortlist for the requistion.  There is nothing that I can tell that will stop a recruiter from continuing to recruit this candidate.  I am thinking of changing the workflow to also reject the candidacy, but before I do that, I want to know if there is an error in my thought process here.
Can anyone shed some light on this?
    Thanks!
