Manually entering field values into report

Hi, I am running a call report for a contact centre and the reports shows information such as numbers of calls received/answered, duration of calls, grade of service, etc. What I am wanting it to also include forcasted calls into the report. I do not have write access to the database (otherwise this would be very straight forward). The report in the end will get exported as a PDF document but I would like to be able to run the report and have some sort of prompt asking for the forcasted calls for each day ( I am showing multiple days on the report). They vary from day to day. Is there any way to do this? I'm reasonably new to crystal as well so simplicity is good. Thanks, Paul.

Hi Paul,
Crystal Reports is a tool that will allow you to read data from the database. If your database contains a field that contains data for 'forecasted calls' you can place that on the report to display. You will not be able to write data to the database from Crystal Reports.
If you do not have a field that contains data for forecasted calls, you might be able to create a formula to generate that.
In regards to creating a prompt, you can create a parameter in Crystal Reports from the Field Explorer. Once you've created the report you can add that to the record selection formula (Report|Selection Formula|Record...)
{yourforecast.field} = {?your.parameter}

      I am working on one reporting requirement that needs to add reference date (virtual characteristic) field to report.
      I have added reference date field to query and able to display the field in report.But I am not able to display reference date field runtime data in to report output.

You can achieve this using Customer Exit or BADI. Check the folllowing link.

If you are using BADI
You can create Virtual CHAR in BADI using transaction SE19
In this transaction you can create a new or display the existing BADI.
There you can see two tabs
The Attribute Tab we need to give the name of the Multiprovider on which the query with the virtual char is getting executed.
The Inerface Tab has three following sections. Need to write the ABAP code for all the three.
Define : Defind all the characteristics and virtual char that will be used for populating virtual char
Initialize : Initialize them
Compute : Here you will have to write the logic for populating the virtual char.
Once the logic is written then you can use this char in your query .

How to populate custom table field value into standard DFF

Hi Gurus
I am newbie to the OAF
I have a requirement to populate the custom table field value into standard DFF. we enabled the DFF in ReqDistDFFOnAcct(po_req_distributions_all). On the requisition tab as soon as i click on the checkout button, the custom field value has to be shown in the requisition distributions DFF field along with the standard Columns like charge account, percent, qty and when we click on the next button, it has to hit the base table ie., po_req_distributions_all.
the standard columns data is showing the screen. how to acheive this requirement programatically
There is a EO for the req distributions table. please help me how to achevie this requirement.
Any help woud be greatly appreciated.

Finally i made some progress....but i am getting an error in the inst_top OPMN folder 10/10/08 15:37:14 Error: <connector name="OracleASjms" path="OracleASjms.rar" /> will not be bootstrapped since corresponding module declaration was not found in application.xml. I cleared the cache, bounced the webserver. Could not able to understand what is this error

In the above "xaml" file i am using the attribute "Readonly="False"" but its not effected on my code still my datagrid is in readonly mode, i don't know why it happens.
And I am adding data to my datagrid through "Wpf controls (TextBox,CheckBox,ComboBox and etc...)" while click on "save" button the data added to grid. adding to grid works properly but the entire row is in readonly mode. How can

Concatenate text to field value in report header

I'm trying to concatenate text to field value in a textbox in the report header but am getting an error. Here's how I'm doing it:
=First(Fields!Pp_Name.Value, "dsProspect") & "Prospect"
and the error says the report definition is invalid. An unexpected error occurred while compiling expressions. Native compiler return value '[BC30179] class 'Textbox.....
any idea why this wont compile?

Hi moondaddy,
Generally, the error message always occurred when there are two distinct text boxes with the same name that only differ in their name by casing in report. When Reporting Services generates VB code for these textboxes during report publishing, the compilation
fails because VB class names are considered case-insensitive.
So this issue is not related to the expression (the format is correct) you post, it related to the Textbox name that the error message said. In order to fix this issue, please rename one of the textboxes.

Hi,
I want to calculate some percentages in the report based on some Field values present in the report. To achieve this I need to make some divisions and multiplications, is it possible to divide or multiply two variables while filling the report using jasper.

How to read the input field value into ABAP variable?

I am using MM at present. All fields are KeyFields here. Should check against each other.
I followed Context setting to the Root Item and Sort, SplitByValue and CollapseContext to achieve the functionality.
But it checks against each field and not all fields. So either one field has different value, only that perticular field gets into New Node and not the entire record. In this case, i might need UDF i guess. Any UDF help is much appreciated

Import screen field value into search help assigned to a different field

I have created an elementary search help based on a custom DDIC table ZSH_SHHLDR. Dialog Type: Dialog depends on set of values, search help parameters:

where FOLIO and CERTN are fields in my table.
There are two fields in my program defined as like FOLIO and CERTN respectively. These fields are screen fields in a custom dynpro created using Screen Painter. The search help is assigned to the CERTN field. In the screen, I want that the contents of the FOLIO field should be imported into the search help, i.e. on the screen:
FOLIO: 21353
CERTN: <F4>
When I click on F4 help for CERTN, I want that the FOLIO parameter in the search help should contain the value for FOLIO that I entered in the text box on the screen. Is there a way to do this, through an exit for instance? Help is appreciated, thanks.

You need to use the below statement.
process on value-request.
field zcom_doa_users-zzjob_role module sub_tes_module.
Here I declared three fields in the screen fields from structure zcom_doa_users. Try to name the fields with table name-field name. So inside the module in structure zcom_doa_users you will get given value for the other fields also.
Now you can do your own processing for f4 help.

How to restrict the user to change/enter field value in me21n?

in the me21n screen..for matkl field we need to validate the user authorization.
if that user having the authorization then it should allow to enter value in the matkl(material group) field.
other wise it should not allow.
how to do this validation?

In BO 4.0,how to convert field values into column heading.

Currently Product Codes are represented in "Code" and "Value" fields.
Please retain the code and value fields, so that if the user adds another code and immediately needs to report on them they can through this functionality.

I think you need to use a Cross Tab on your report but also you will need to apply Sections on the Fund Code dimension.
ie
Section 1 - ABC1

No field values in report!

Hi,
I have a situation wherein i have a field which has values in cube but not in the report. ( I am getting all zeroes for this field in report )
This particular field is mapped to a field in R/3 which is populated dynamically ( uses FM logic in generic extraction and is not existing as a field in any table in R/3 ).
This is a time field and in BW it was defined as number type key figure. In cube i am able to see these values of length 4 with commas as well.
what i should do to get values for this field in report?

this partcular field is not involved in any of the CKFS or RKFs .In fact for this report no CKF or RKF is existing
More over it has values in cube ! that is what bothering me! if the values were not der in cube, then that is well known issue!

Non aggregated Value into report

Using Hyperion Interactive Reporting Studio 9.3.1, I created computed column that gives me a results that I'm able to put into a report.
My formula in the footer of any Group is Tables("Results_Union").Columns("Computed").Sum(currBreak), I want the sum of entire colum non aggregated,
is it possible?

In the GroupX Footer I need 12 but the aggregated value is 7
the value is obtained by the formula

In the GroupY Footer I need 12 but the aggregated value is 3
the value is obtained by the formula

PreparedStatement.setFloat does not enter precise values into database

I have written a program where I am entering a record in to the
database using a prepared statement. The problem is for float datatypes, the
values being entered into the database are not rounded off. e.g. 1.65 is
being entered as 1.64999999
I am using the Sybase database and the driver is
com.sybase.jdbc2.jdbc.SybDriver.
If I replace PreparedStatement with Statement I am getting the precise values

Split field values into range

Hi,
I have a 'Company Code' field in an input file that can contain 1 or multiple company codes, separated by comma (,). e.g it could be anything from '1105' to '1105,3000,2000,2200' etc up to about a max of 20 company codes.
I don't think it's efficient or good programming to do the following;
SPLIT l_bukrs_string AT ';' INTO
l_bukrs1
l_bukrs2
l_bukrs3
l_bukrs4
l_bukrs5
l_bukrs6.
etc etc up to the maximum (I would be declaring up to 20 more fields).
The ideal would be if I can get the list of company codes (from the field), into a range. So as per my example above, I would left with a range R_BUKRS that contains the single values 1105,3000,2000,2200. I can then loop at this range later on and do the rest of my company code specific processing.
And ideas - possible use of field symbols? Thanks alot

My idea is to slit the file into internal table and use this internal table like for all entries in or like select-options.
SPLIT text_flie AT ',' into table IT_BUKRS.
