Manufacturing costs extractors

Dear Gurus,
I am trying to load into BI 3.5 manufacturing orders information from R/3.
the standard extractors I found are mainly focused on logistic point of view. (2LIS_04_P_MATNR, 2LIS_04_P_COMP,2LIS_04_ARBPL)
Can anyone tell me whether it is possible to get via standard extractors manufacturing orders Costs information ?

We can extract the production order related information, once the controlling document is posted from 0CO_OM_OPA_1.

Hi:
Both options are viable. If you reverse posting in FB50 then FI GL account postings will also be reversed and along with cost center postings. Hence here advantage is that cost center reversal will be with referenced to the original document with which wrong posting were made. Disadvantage here is that you will to post the entry again in FB50 . In KB11N you will simply transfer cost center amount from wrong to new one that should be in place of it but here you will have no reference . I personally think reversing posting through FB50 is viable options , reverse postings can be seen in KSB1 as well against that cost center.

Manufacturing cost per unit

Hi.. Experts.
My client is in producing Perfumes (Process manufacturing- chemical Industry) and Production wants to know the cost of per unit manufactured in the plant/plants and explains this in form of the following points.
To arrive at manufacturing cost per unit we need to know
1) Per Unit cost of materials inclusive of transport (Raw & packaging material)
2) Conversion cost per unit which will include
a) Energy & other utilities expenses
b) Labor cost per unit (days wages of all in production / units produced)
c) Cost of quality--- including testing outside and chemicals used for testing in plant plus salary per day of people engaged in testing in q.c department.
d) Cost of administration-- employees engaged as well as office expenses like telephone,transport
Please consult me how to configure the above requirements in sap business one.

The first point is where would u like to capture these records if its at the time of production order the it is easy
u can create UDF for all related items u have mentioned and fill the value manually and then in the production order either u can write the value manually or u can run A FMS which will sum up all the value and also the value of BoM ITEMS and would reflect in the total field
or if u wana add it in teh sales order i.e u want to show it at the time of sales then u can add all the items in the freight setup

Tooling manufacturing cost calculation

Hi, how to calculate the tool manufacturing cost? is there any relation with prt's? pls describe the steps.

In many bussiness its required to produce , tools inside the plant and as this are not the salable product , cost is assigend to internal cost centres.
For this kind of production you can define new order tyep which will be solely used for this purpose only.
It can include all Jigs, Fixtures, tools etc.
material type you can decide as per your bussiness process.
and settlement of this new production order you can plan with the help of your CO consultant.

Two Different Project to handle Project Manufacturing Cost ?

Hello Guys,
Can any One Help me on this Question,
Sales Company - > Attaching their Project/Task to Sales Order.(Different OU,LE,Set of Books).
Manufacturing Plant - > Imports the Sales-Order of Sales Company(Different OU,LE,Set of Books).
Current Flow - > Sales Company Project/Task -> Planning -> Work Orders ->Transfer Cost to Projects.
And Manufacturing Unit will create their Internal Project.
Questions :-
Now Manufacturing Unit wants to know their Manufacturing Cost(Material Cost,Resource Cost and Overhead Cost) ?How to track cost for Manufacturing Plant ?
How we can transfer the cost from Sales Company Project to Manufacturing Project ?
Do we need to Transfer from Cost from Sales Company OU to Manufacturing Internal Project OU ?
Is their any other way to do the setups ?
Iam only concened about How to use Sales Company Project and Manufacturing Internal Project ?

Hi Dina,
We are in a process to implement flow of information between Sales Order from two different LEs.
Our Order originates from Sales Service Org(Project Owning Org) ----> Trading Hub------- > MFG Plant. The equipment is shipped directly to customer.
We would like to know more on the solution which you have explained : -
"Manufacturing plant may use the same project as setup by the sales company. They could setup the transfer price rules for cross charge. Then run the Inter-company billing process which generates a sales invoice in the manufacturing OU AR, and interface that as internal supplier invoice to the AP of the Sales OU. To implement the Inter-company billing you need to follow the required setups in both OUs."
We have been following steps and found not working
(1) Created Project under Sales & Service Operating Unit (OU)
(2) Created Sales Order against this Project in Sales & Service OU, the shipping org on this sales order is MFG which belongs to different entity & OU.
(3) Pick and Ship from shipping org MFG OU
(4) Run Cost Collection Manager for Inventory Cost Transfer for the Shipping Org MFG
(5) There is no transaction pending for this cost under Sales & Service OU, however this is pending under MFG OU (shipping Org)
(6) Ran the "Transaction Import" program from MFG OU and the transaction got rejected as the Project belongs to Sales & Service OU.

Inventory and WIP costs of Project Manufacturing are interfaced to Oracle Projects using the program - Cost Collector. I assume this same program will pick the EAM costs as well. Cost Collector should be run for the inventory organization after transactions were costed by Cost Manager. The transactions will be interfaced to PA Transaction Interface table. From there rub PRC: Transaction Import process to bring them into PA as expenditure items.

Calculating manufacturing cost based on quantity structure (BOM and Routing) is done in SAP in CO (PC). First there are some settings that need to be maintained (like costing variant), then you run a cost estimate run (transaction CK11N).

where can I get material cost estimate price for costing varient PPC3.
I check all the tables KEKO ,CKIS AND KEPH
but did not find the cost of goods manufactured "Total costs" in that table could you tell me which field it is ?
Eg CK11N - Enter the material press execute twice and you will see the costs component view how can I get that price and from which field

Configuration for 0CO_PC_10 (new EHP4 content extractor for Product Costing

Has anyone tried to use new Prod Costing extractor 0CO_PC_10 that comes with ECC EHP4 upgrade?
THere seems to be some configuration or activation to be done in ECC via Transaction SFW5 .
SFW5 seems to be for activating business function sets, which seems to be a new ECC activity with EHP4 content.
When trying to use extractor 0CO_PC_10 in RSA3, we get an error "Errors occured during the extraction"
which implies something is not yet configured or activated ECC to support this extractor.
Likely a COPA configuration activity?
Appreciate any hints from anyone who has used extractor 0CO_PC_10 already?

1_CO_PA_AFS_CCA(cost center accounting) DS enhancement

hi friends,
i'm trying to extract COPA : Profitability Analysis data using 1_CO_PA_AFS_CCA(cost center accounting) to custom cube directly(i.e Data source to custom cube without any staging in between datasource & cube).
In ECC6.0 (tcode: CK40N and then costs ), per material wise i want to extract labour costs, deprecision, power & fuel, sub contract charges,other manufacturing costs along with this i want to extract i field information "costing lot size".
I want to extract "costing lot size", but data source doesn't have this field. Is it possible to enhace DS.
If yes, how to do that?

we have raise coal material with Non component BOM , and Routing is only one activity with 400- Raised Coal Qty-MT ,
We upload the plan with Production cost center -activity type and cost element ( as per cost component -we have 10 cost component as per below )

we done the plan for Amount and Qty by KP06,KP26 and update plan price but system not calculate the cost component splitting in cost estimate as per planning while only one item showing for all cost to Production Overhead cost component
Production Overhead cost component which assign the secondary cost element which is assign to activity type 400
can any one help me to how we can resolve this issue

Here I am providing the necessity and importance of splitting structure, will share the configuration steps once you go through the following and get the comfort level.
                  Expense Analysis and Splitting in Manufacturing Cost Centers
Introduction In SAP Cost center work as a cost responsibility center, where all the expenses and cost are stored and analyzed for the purpose of management decision making.
The cost could be fixed or variable in nature. The difference between variable and fixed costs can be made in various ways in product costing in CO module.
Fixed costs represent the static costs incurred by the organization, which doesn’t change on the basis on manufacturing activities, which remain constant irrespective of production activities like rent for the premises, salaries of office staff etc.
On the other hand, variable cost varies based on the level of production activities; if production activities increase then variable cost also increased like electricity consumes raw material charges etc.
However all the variable cost doesn’t vary in direct proportion by quantity of goods produced.
In this document will try to define; how the Expenses analysis and splitting of cost done in manufacturing cost centers.
From controlling prospective, fixed cost remain constant regardless of operating activities, but if these factor changes, variable cost will fluctuate.
Basically raw material costs represent variable cost, but in this document main focused will be given to distinguish fixed and variable activity cost.
The segregation between fixed and variable cost is optional and is derived from the configuration and master data configured in cost center accounting and overhead accounting.
Activity Price:
There are different methods that could be used in cost center accounting to determine the activity price. The simple way is the manually enter “Fixed” and “Variable” Activity cost (KP26).
However there are other methods used in Cost center Planning and Budgeting that automatically calculate the fixed and variable activity price.
Here the focused will be given on Planning and Budgeting activity and automatic calculation of plan activity rate in cost center.
This method aggregate planned costs by cost element and capacity by plan unit to calculate the activity price.
Activity independent costs are segregated among different activities based on Splitting Structure, while activity dependent cost directly used for the purpose of variable activity rate calculation.
Fixed Activity Cost:
In product costing all those cost, which doesn’t vary based on the activities in manufacturing cost will represent fixed cost.
In a manufacturing cost centers there may be two or more activities performed.
To calculate the activities rate, the fixed costs are distributed to various activities on the basis of Splitting Structure defined for cost center.
Variable Activity Cost:
Variable activity cost, which directly depend upon the activity type and fluctuate based on increase or decrease in manufacturing activities. In SAP variable activity cost are directly linked to the respective activity.
Activity Prices: Fixed and Variable Split
In Cost Center Accounting dividing the cost between Fixed and Variable requires appropriate split to be made in the cost entered for the activity. The process is described below:
i. Variable cost would be planned at activity level and expenses should be maintained at cost element in the manufacturing cost center by assigning activity and cost element combination.
In other word, the expenses should be planned on Activity type at the time of primary cost planning (KP06).
Then the variable activity rates are calculated on Total cost planned at Activity divided by Total number of activity planned at that cost center (i.e. capacity in KP26)
ii. Fixed cost would be planned at independent of activity type. These costs are maintained in KP06 at cost element level on manufacturing cost center.
Then the fixed costs are distributed on various activity types on the basis of Splitting structure defined at OKEW.
In Splitting Structure we define the rules, how the fixed cost will be distributed to Activities. For the purpose of this document, considering split of fixed cost on the basis of Capacity maintained in KP26.

Hi,
You will have to enable project manufacturing if you want to collect manufacturing cost on a project. Once you create a project, add this project to a project manufacturing organization through a PJM responsibility. Once you associate project and PJM org you will be able to put the PJM organization in the sales order line created on a Project sales order in Oracle OM. Also, mention the project number in that sales order.
Once this sales order is shipped, run the cost collection program and it will bring in the manufacturing costs to project.

Cost of sales accounting compares the sales revenue for an accounting period with the manufacturing costs of the activity. The expenses are allocated to the commercial functional areas (manufacturing, sales and distribution, administration, and so on). Expenses and revenues that cannot be assigned to the functional areas are reported in further profit and loss items, sorted according to expense and revenue type.
With this type of grouping, cost of sales accounting identifies where costs originate in a company. It therefore portrays the commercial purpose of the expense.
<b>For example, you can use a same GL account for salaries, but based on the cost center it is posted, the amount can go above the gross margin or below. Each cost center is associated with a functional area. like Production and Admin.</b>

Can we have Cost of Manufactuirng sent to Projects while Inventory issue of these items to be through Sales Order Shipping. Can we do that?

I want to send the cost of manufactured items to a Project/Task .
Still I want to issue these items from inventory using a Sales Order (Sales Shipping).
Billing shall be from the Project.
Can we do the above cycle?
