Mapping Input

I have a mapping input parameter connected to a lookup table and then to a premapping process. Somehow OWB is not generating the lookup in the code. Is this a bug?
This is what owb generated, WH_DATE_PERIOD is the lookup table.
BEGIN
WH_ENABLE_PART_INDEXES((MAP_ATTEMPT."CONST_0_P_TABLE"),WH_DATE_PERIOD."DATE_KEY",1);
EXCEPTION WHEN OTHERS THEN
get_trigger_success := FALSE;
END;
END IF;
Is there any work around for this?

Igor,
Not sure what you were trying to accomplish... The pre mapping process is an isolated pre-mapping procedure that is independent of the maping. If you wanted to call the procedure from within the mapping by passing the values from the lookup table, you should have used a transformation.

  • Mapping input values for a web service connection to a range of cells

    I've created a web service connection in Xcelsius data manager. My web service requires an array of integer as input parameter. How do I map input values for a web service connection to read from a range of cells in the spreadsheet, e.g. $A$2:$A$20, in similar way of mapping output values to write to a range of cells in the spreadsheet?
    For output values of the web service, I can specify to map the output values to write to a range of cells. However, it doesn't seem to work for reading the input values.
    I can map input values for each node to a single cell, e.g. $A$2, in the spreadsheet. However, when I set the "Read From" field to a range of cells, e.g. $A$2:$A$20, it only reads in the first value in the range.
    Is there any way that we can do this mapping for input values as we do for output values?
    Your assistance is very much appreciated.
    Regards,
    Van

    Van,
    There is a workaround for that...
    Example:
    My Webservice accepts input data range in a specific format with " :" symbol, i.e. 072008:082008
    Now what i do is
    A1 = 072008
    A2 = 082008
    A3 = CONCATENATE(A1,":",A2)
    so A3 = 072008:082008
    Now i map the input value in web service to cell A3
    P.S have 2 input box components and map it to cells A1 and A2, i.e you are giving users an  option to enter the range of values...then web service will capture the range and refreshes data with the range of values user entered.
    hope this helps..

  • About mapping-input-parameter operator !

    hi all:
    There is a problem,
    I deploy a mapping,the mapping have a mapping input parameter, the mapping is runing a time every day£¬and
    every day's parameter is different.
    I want to mapping input parameter of the mapping can auto get a value from some soure now.
    and the input parameter of the mapping is a "group by"
    condition at mapping!
    is this possible succed?

    Depending on what the (dynamic) source of you parameter value look like, you can either add it as a Mapping Table operator or create a simple function to use as a Pre-Mapping Process.

  • Mapping Input Parameter renders mapping unable to be compiled or deployed

    Hi there. I have an interesting issue I have not encountered before.
    I can create a new mapping with a Mapping Input Parameter (just one parameter of type Integer), map this to a table column of the same type and the mapping compiles and deploys without any issues.
    However, if I take an existing mapping (which already compiles and deploys without issues), add a Mapping Input Parameter to it (just one parameter of type Integer) and map this parameter through to a table column of the same type, when I compile the mapping I get a pop-up "Warehouse Builder Error" with a number 56 and a red cross. The mapping cannot generate any code and gives no explaination. Trying this on a different mapping causes the same issue but with a different number in the pop-up.
    I have tried changing the parameter from integer to another data type and this makes no difference.
    Removing the Mapping Input Parameter makes the mapping compilable and deployable again.
    Am I missing something here ?
    Thanks
    Paul

    Ok... this could be a bug, but I worked out how to resolve the issue.
    To get the issue:-
    1. Open a mapping which does not have a Mapping Input Parameter and compiles and deploys happily
    2. Add a Mapping Input Parameter object, add an output attribute to it and map it to a table column.
    3. Compile the mapping and you get a "Warehouse Builder Error" pop-up with a number, then a Validation Completed Successfully message. But no code can be generated and the mapping
    cannot be deployed.
    4. Slap your forehead and say "Doh!"
    To fix the issue :-
    1. Open the same mapping
    2. Resynch the tables you mapped the Mapping Input Parameter to. The mapping now compiles and deploys ok.
    3. Pat yourself on the back

  • Mapping input parameter

    Hello gurus !
    I'm newbie on using OWB.
    How does the "Mapping input parameter" work ?
    If I place it on my mapping and afterwards I generate the mapping and run the mapping via Control Center Manager, The Control Center should ask me for value of the parameters or not ?

  • Problems with Mapping Input Parameter

    Hi everybody,
    just another question. I have a Mapping with an Mapping Input Parameter. If i provide a Parameter with an prefixed 0 e.g.: 01234 the output of this is 1234.
    How can i manage this that the output of the Input Parameter ist 01234 and not like now 1234?
    Many thanks in advance.
    Greetings

    The Mapping Input Parameter is of type varchar2 and it still gives 1234. The Problem is i have to provide the whole input parameter for logging proposes. I managed this now by building a workflow an provide the mapping input parameters to new variables. Now the Input 01234 gives 01234....:-)
    Does anybody know another solution for this problem?

  • How to pass mapping input paramters to a pluggable mapping?

    Hi,
    I'm using OWB 10.2.0.3.
    How can I pass the mapping input parameters to a pluggable mapping?
    I know that I can use the pluggable mapping input signature, but this means I always need a joiner in the pm before I can use the parameter in a filter, for instance. This is not really convenient.
    Any help would be appreciated!

  • How to bind mapping input parameter in process flow using OMB Plus

    Hi
    I have created a process flow with a mapping.
    This mapping has a input parameter, that I want to bind to a variable using OMBPlus
    OMBALTER PROCESS_FLOW '$process' MODIFY PARAMETER 'P_EOD_DATE_IN' SET PROPERTIES (BINDING) VALUES ('V_EOD_DATE') does not work as P_EOD_DATE is NOT a process parameter
    neither does
    OMBALTER PROCESS_FLOW '$process' MODIFY PARAMETER '$mapname/P_EOD_DATE_IN' SET PROPERTIES (BINDING) VALUES ('V_EOD_DATE') as the reference '$mapname/P_EOD_DATE_IN' is not valid.

  • Oracle Workflow and mapping input parameters

    Hello all,
    I am trying to create a process flow in OWB that will be able to pass input parameters into each of my mappings. Each mapping contains 2 inputs, a start time and an end time.
    Does OWB's process flows allow for this or is there another approach that i should take in creating a workflow for these mappings?
    I am currently using 11gR2(11.2.0.1) and OWF v. 2.6.4.
    Thanks in advanced for any and all help,
    Randy

    Hi Randy,
    Open the process flow editor. In the structure window (menu view->structure), select the mapping activity and expand it to see its parameters. If you select a parameter, you can set its value or bind it to a variable in the property window.
    In the structure window you can also add process flow parameters to the start activity or define process flow variables.

  • Is there any way to read the Value mapping input values dynamically?

    Hi all..
    I have a scenario where i have used value mapping. now the issue is when the input is not having any corresponding output value in value mapping then i should get null as output. can anyone suggest how can this be achieved?..

    Hi,
    Do you know if the value in not maintained/found in the value mapping then it returns the same value as a result at runtime.
    So, simply if and else will help you to get your desired result..
    SourceField ---> ValueMapping------>|
                                        |----->equalS---IF---->Then -----> Map constant (null) ----> Target
    SourceField------------------------>|

    Hello
    As I understand it , this is command is required in mls qos because on a SVI ( L3 vlan interface) runs in a vlan-based mode which differs from normal L3 routed interfaces which run in interface mode.
    As per cisco ="In VLAN-based mode, the policy map that is attached to the Layer 2 interface is ignored, and QoS is driven by the policy map that is attached to the corresponding VLAN interface."
    Lastly regards
    Try matching on all traffic incoming on the trunk interface on that switch for it to successfully police incoming traffic:
    class-map V102
    match input-interface x/x
    Policy-map POLICE
    class V102
    Police xxxx xxxx

  • Java Mapping with an xml array as input

    Hi Gurus,
    I have to perform a java mapping to map some input xml contained in an array with a target message type. I have found a good java mapping example here:

    Hey Stefan, I think he is refering to a n:1 multimapping.
    If that is indeed the case, Gabriele, you will have to consider the initial tags inserted by mapping runtime to treat multimappings.
    Suppose your XML message is like
    <myMT xmlns="urn:mynamespace">
      <value>xpto</value>
    </myMT>
    Then, if your source message interface occurrence is defined as unbounded in your interface mapping, your mapping program (message mapping, xslt, java mapping, whatever) will receive, from mapping runtime, a message like this:
    <Messages xmlns="http://sap.com/xi/XI/SplitAndMerge">
      <Message1>
        <myMT xmlns="urn:mynamespace">
          <value>xpto1</value>
        </myMT>
        <myMT xmlns="urn:mynamespace">
          <value>xpto2</value>
        </myMT>
        <myMT xmlns="urn:mynamespace">
          <value>xpto3</value>
        </myMT>
      </Message1>
    </Messages>
    Also, if you have more than 1 message type as source of your interface mapping, your mapping program will receive the other message types in <Message2>, <Message3>... tags.
    The <Messages> and <MessageX> tags will always be automatically generated by mapping runtime when dealing with multimappings, which are mappings from m XML messages to n XML messages, with either m, n or both different of 1 (note that this definition includes mappings from 1 type to 1 type, when either source, target or both message types have max occurrence = ubounded).
    Finally, remember that the output that your mapping program generates will also have to include these <Messages> and <MessageX> tags (with proper namespace), since mapping runtime will be expecting them. Message mappings treat those by default, but your xslt and java multimappings will have to explicitely include these tags in the output.
    Regards,
    Henrique.

    Hello Shaun,
    The function wb_rt_conversions.from_date is (at least in OWB10.2) overloaded and can with input-types as
    date, timestamp_unconstrained, timestamp_tz_unconstrained, timestamp_ltz_unconstrained or varchar2.
    If it doesn't work with varchar2 I would try Date:
    For example: to_date('2010-01-01','YYYY-MM-DD')

  • How to create a Mapping with Input Parameter?

    Hi,
    I have a target table where the primary key column should be loaded with an Input parameter value. How can we implement this? Let me know if any examples are available?

    Use a map input operator in your mapping. In the outgroup add an attribute, mapp the attribute with the column and then you can start the mapping with an extra input parameter.
