Mapping to multiple contact ports...

The last holdout feature that Timbuktu performs that ARD hasn't learned (that I know of) is connecting to multiple clients through a NAT'd firewall. In TB2 you assign a "tcp contact port", say in the 4000 range to each TB2 client machine. Then you setup the forwarding rules on your firewall/router and then from the outside you merely type the IP xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:4000 or 4001 or 4002..etc to connect to those Macs on the inside of the firewall. Anyone have thoughts on whether this can be hacked into function with ARD? From my current viewpoint, it's a no go, but then I'm always willing to be proven wrong.
Thanks.

You can select what port in the 5900 range the ARD administrator application uses to connect to a client, but you cannot set what ports the client agent uses (and there's no way to "hack" a change). So you can use ARD to observe and control systems behind an NAT router by mapping ports 5900, 5901 etc. (the VNC ports) to the various systems and then connecting as appropriate. You cannot, however, use the other functions behind an NAT router since they only use port 3283 which of course can only be mapped to a single system.
The other option is to have two copies of ARD, one behind the NAT to adminster all the systems on that side of the NAT router, and map the ports in the router to that system. Then you take control of that copy of ARD from the outside copy.
Remember that ARD is not just an observe/control system. It's much more a management system, so it's strengths play to being used for working with local systems. If all you need is observe/control, then Timbuktu, the new PC Anywhere 12, or the freeware VNC may be better choices.

  • ACE: a class-map with multiple ports... what about the probe/serverfarm?

    Hello Gilles,
One question about something I was not able to find in the documentation.
Lets say I have one class-map which includes 2 ports (in this case https and 5061).
Can I associate this class-map to just 1 generic serverfarm and probe for both ports or I have to specify 2 serverfarms/rservers/probes?
So, by not specifying the ports on the rserver, if a request is received on port 443 (or 5061), it is sent to the same respective port on the rserver?
The same way is valid for the generic probe.  ACE module is able to probe both ports based on the class-map?
Thanks and have a great day!!
    Giulio.

Even if you use the 4710 appliance or expect the inheritance in the module software, it's worth considering if this is really what you want. If you keep multiple ports in the L3/L4 class-map you can't handle the services independently. You will have a common serverfarm for both https and 5061. If https service stops on one rserver, the ACE will place that rserver (and not that service) in out-of-operation state and it won't receive any 5061 traffic either. (You have the fail-on-all probe option but I wouldn't say it's a better choice. In that case, https traffic would be sent to the rserver even if https port is closed as long as there is at least one working service on it.) That's why I prefer a separate class-map and separate serverfarm for each service. (They can contain the same rservers, no need to duplicate.) BUT if the software supports probe port inheritance, you can benefit from it even in this scenario: serverfarm-443 and serverfarm-5061 can both use your PROBE_GENERIC_TCP.

  • ELM 1:N Can we Map Multiple Contact Persons for an Org

I want to upload Multiple contact persons for an organization.
Using ELM Mapping tool can we map multiple contact persons for an organization?
orgID  name  persID  Name   CP_FUNCTIONKEY    CP_FUNCTIONNAME
    9          abc     9          Pers1             01                            Head of CAD
                          9         Pers2             02                            Head of Civil
    Thanks,
    Ramesh

I found the way the mapping file should be.
    Entry 1: Organisation A, Person A-1
    Entry 2: Organisation A, Person A-2
    Entry 3: Organisation B, Person B-1
    Entry 4: Organisation C, Person B-1
During mapping, the content of the fields ORG_NAME1, ORG_NAME2, ORG_NAME3, ORG_CITY, ORG_POSTL_COD1, POSTL_COD2, and ORG_STREET are used by the system to determine identical organizations within the list. The content of these fields must be identical for all records that belong to one organization.

  • How to submit data from multiple Input Ports in single SUBMIT button  click

    Hi,
    I am in SPS8.
What exactly steps I need to perform to submit data from multiple Input Ports.
I couldn't able to submit One input Form and one Input Table to BAPI data service in single SUBMIT button click.
I debugged the VC application in SPS8.
While debugging, I found that when I click the SUBMIT button in the Input Form, Only data in that Input
form are being passed to the BAPI, But not the Table Form data.
If I click on the SUBMIT button in another Input Table, Only data from that table is being passed to the BAPI, but not the Input form data.
Essentially I need to submit both of them in one SUBMIT button.
    Thanks,
    Ramakrishna

    Ramakrishna,
From the word document that you sent to me the steps you are missing to map the appropriate information into the BAPI is first you are not mapping all data rows into the table input port. To do this double click on the input table view and change your selection mode from single to multiple. Then when you click on your link between the BAPI and your input table you will see a new option appears under data mapping "Mapping Scope" select All Data Rows.
That's the first part of the problem to get the BAPI to recognize both the inputs coming from the form and the table eliminate the submit button from the form. Drag and drop a link from the output port of the table view to the Input port of the BAPI. Double click on the link between the BAPI and the table view and open the expressions editor for the two fields:
    1/ Automatic Source
    2/ SKIP_ITEMS_WITH_ERROR
On the hierarchical folder structure on the right expand expand the Data Fields node to find the fields from the form and map them accordingly.
Now when you hit the submit button on your table it should pass the BAPI all the parameters from both the form and the table.
    Hope this helps,
    Cheers,
    Scott

  • Multiple Input ports - Single Form

    Hi,
I have a RFC which has multiple input ports. How do i use a single form to provide data to all the input ports.
    Regards
    Bharathwaj

    Hi,
you can create the single form direct, if you pull a line out of the RFC, then the form must be created with the fields. If not, then you have to create it manually and map the fields with the input port.
    Best Regards,
    Marcel

  • Localhost maps to multiple ips

I am having an odd issue. This occurs when I launch the 10.2 Weblogoic application server on my local machine. The application server listens for http requests. During start up it issues a warning that <Hostname “localhost” maps to multiple IP addresses: 192.168.0.4, 127.0.0.1> . When I try to access the console that is running on this application server. I cannot access them using the protocol “http://localhost:7051/....” . I should be able to access these web pages via localhost. Localhost is mapped to 127.0.0.1 in the hosts file ( also the address ::1 is mapped to localhost).
When I access the console on the application server using http://192.168.0.4:7051/. . . or http://127.0.0.1:7051/... the web pages come up ok. This is an annoying workaround since localhost should be the default.
I am trying to find out how to “unmap” the mapping to the 192.168.0.4 address in hopes that this will enable me to use localhost again. As a point of interest when I ping localhost it resolves to my computer name “Roger-PC”. When I run net view \\localhost I get:
    C:\Users\Roger>net view \\localhost
    Shared resources at \\localhost
Share name Type Used as Comment
    DropBox Disk
    Public Disk
    Users Disk
    WCProInbox Disk
    The command completed successfully.
When I run netstat I get two IP/ports mapped
    Roger@Roger-PC ~
    $ netstat -an | grep 7051
    TCP 127.0.0.1:7051 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING
    TCP 192.168.0.4:7051 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING
I am sure it is some Windows Vista setting. I have tried looking at the firewall and internet connects and Microsoft website but with no avail. Can you help with this.

what is the listen address set for the admin server? If the server instance must be accessible as localhost, leave the listen address blank. If you have specified the ipaddress or DNS, then possibly localhost requests would fail.

  • Multiple midi ports....When will this happen?!

So frustrating that there is still no multiple midi ports yet. I've been a long time user and am considering switching to Cubase because of this as I can not use Logic with VE Pro the way it is intended to be used. Will this ever be an option? Kind of defeats the whole purpose of VE Pro to have to open up multiple instances in Logic.

I agree. Logic Physical Input supports Multiple Ports however the Sequencer does not. The Logic Sequencer is limited to record up to 16 MIDI Channels coming from Any Port. The alternative is to direct cable the Physical Input Ports to Channel Splitters in the Environment and wire them to different Channel Strips. In this scenario you can wire up to say 256 Instruments cabled from different Physical MIDI Ports. If you want to Mixdown the incoming MIDI Ports you have to bounce in real time.

  • Aggregating multiple fiber ports on MDS directors

    Hi All,
Going forward our new servers will have the capability of aggregating multiple fiber ports into fewer connections on the SAN switch. I am told that there is a particular setting that needs to be enable on the switch for this functionality to work, kindly let me know more details on this?
What we intend is to reduce the port usage on Cisco MDS9509 like in map in many hba's to few physical ports instead of one to one?

Switch-Server port channeling feature was added in MDS NX-OS 4.1(3). Make sure your MDS at least runs that release.

This support page: https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA10867/how-do-i-add-other-members-of-my-skype-manager-to-my-contac... indicates that there's an option on the left-hand side to select multiple contacts.  I'm not seeing this on the page described, I can only add contacts one by one.  Is this feature something I need to "turn on" somewhere in my settings?
In addition, I've noticed in the past month or so, even by adding contacts one-by-one, only around the first 40 people receive the request to be added as a contact.  After that, no one receives invites.  This is very frustrating for adding all of our business's contacts at the same time.
I've tried this in Mac 10.7.4 and 10.8.  I've also switched to a PC, but the same thing happens.  Does anyone have any insights?

Just an update (2013 Nov 25). There is now an option to add multiple contact using csv file. Here is a simple direction: Create a csv file with 2 columns 1st column is the email address and the 2nd column is the name of the account. Then go to Members > Add members > create business accounts > then click on Browse..., choose the file you just created and it should be able to import the contacts.

  • Mail: How do I send multiple contacts an email

Used to be that you could click multiple contacts while holding down the Command key so they were all selected and appeared in the "TO" field of an email or Message. It seems that with Yosemite I have to select each recipient separately, then go back to the contacts list. I figure I'm doing something wrong (probably real obvious to all but me). I also want to know how I can send to a "GROUP" of recipients so that (a) all the cards in that group receive the email, and (b) none of the email addresses or recipients are visible (e.g., "Some Friends", or "Family" is all they see in the "To" field.  Thanks lots.

Create a new group in your Contacts with those recipients.  In Mail type the name of the group into the BCC field and hit the Tab key.
By using the BBC field the recipients will only see their name at the top and in the To field will be "Undisclosed recipients"  in the To field when they receive it.

It was easy on my sony ericssonn....do i need to download an app?

There is no group send option like you are looking for.
To send to a group you have to pick each person you want to send to and send as a group that way. Then don't delete that SMS thread and you can reuse it again later.
As for an app, well SMS works via your carrier and the OS, not something an App can do unless the app send the data to them (a third party) and then they relay it to the carrier. Do you really want to be sending your SMS to some 3rd party first?
