Markup Annotation

Hi,
I'm working with SDK 7.0 and have a pb accessing the 'Subj' key of an annotation CosDict.
I want to change it once the annotation has been added. With FreeText annotations (which are not markup annotations) I use PdAnnotDidChange notification and it works well. But With Text,Square,Ink annotations when I try to access the 'Subj' key in the PdAnnotDidChange notification I get a CosNull Object.
Anyone has an idea
Thanks

Sorry, I should have been clearer. I meant to say "do they require a 'Subj' key?". My bad, and thanks for the clarification Aandi.

  • How can I add a Drawing Markup/Annotation to my stamp while it's being stamped?

I have created Dynamic Stamp and works perfect and its located in my user profile:
    C:\Users\XXXXX\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Acrobat\10.0\Stamps\symbols.php
    And this works just fine...
Now I want to add a line to the stamp.
I want the user to introduce the length of the line using a response box (app.response)
For some reason when I try to add the line using:
    var new_line = this.addAnnot({
      type:"Line",
      page:6,
      points:[[36,373],[613,373]],
      width:2,
      style:"S ",
      strokeColor:color.black,
      arrowEnd:"None",
      arrowBegin:"None"
After this, the variable "new_line" is NULL, can somebody help me here?
So I cant add the line using JavaScript
Ironically when I try to create a field (text box) using JavaScript it works perfectly ....
    var oField=this.addField({
    cName: "info",
    cFieldType: "text",
    nPageNum: 6,
    oCoords: [ 20, 20, 1, 1 ]
    oField.value = "Hello World !!!";
I am able to insert the line manually when I open the stamp file in Acrobat and add the line under Comment->Drawing Markups->Draw Line. However I want the length of the line to be inserted by the user when the user applies the stamp... Can anybody help me here?

I added 4 annotations to the stamps (2 Lines, 1 Circle and 1 text box)
Then I tried to get the Annotation properties and still no good luck.
    The variable is NULL
    I used this script:
    var aAnnots = this.getAnnots(6);
    app.alert("There are: " + aAnnots.length + " annots");
Note: The scrip is in the "calculate" section of one of the field text of the stamp (Custom Calculation script)
Do you want me to send the stamp?

  • Livecycle PDF markup & annotation doubt

    Hi all,
We are getting annotated PDF from authors, to print the PDF we need "Acrobat Professional".
In reader we are unable to print the annoted PDF's with marked.
Is Livecycle can do this process, when I put the annotated PDF in watchfolder, it should throw the a PDF with markup.
So that I can open it in reader and print the file.
    Is this possible in LiveCycle.

  • PDF documents that cannot be edited in Reader for IOS

    Hello,
I've been trying to edit (highlight and add comments) a PDF document on my iPad, but the app is not cooperating with me.
I was able to edit it with Adobe Reader on my PC, but the same file cannot be edited with the ios app.  I tried some other pdfs with the app, and in some, the editing options would work, but in others, they would not.
Is there any way that I can modify a pdf when it behaves this way, so that it will let me edit it on my iPad?
    Thanks!

    aboutrainbows,
Thank you for sharing the PDF document.
I took a look at the PDF document and found out that this problem occurs with certain types of PDF documents (but not all PDF documents).  Only text markup annotations (Highlight, Strikeout, and Underline) are affected by the defect in Adobe Reader for iOS.
The good news is that we already have a fix for it.  The fix will be verified by our Quality Engineering team and included in a future release of Adobe Reader for iOS.  Unfortunately, I am not able to provide the release date for Adobe Reader for iOS.
    We apologize for the inconvenience.
Please let us know if you have further questions.

  • Help someone

Hello ,All trying to find out how someone can Change the font color and size I made and Editable image in Acrobat x and they can open it and Edited in Reader, They want to be able to change the font size and color in reader please anyone be trying to figure this out for Days I know it can be done just no clue how thank you,,

It is not clear what PDF content you have.  Perhaps something printed from a word processer and the paper then scanned with the image placed into PDF?
If so, there is only the image of text and not actual text.
A scanned image of text can be processed by Acrobat with OCR to provide a hidden layer of characters.
If the OCR output is from Searchable Image or Searchable Image (Exact) there is no practicable way to edit it.
An image of textual content could be have OCR via ClearScan.  ClearScan replaces recognized images of characters with an "internal" font.
It is possible to edit ClearScan output with Acrobat Pro using the TouchUp Text tool.
Adobe Reader has no TouchUp Text tool.
A PDF that has been enabled for Reader by Acrobat Pro can, depending on what option is selected, can let users of Adobe Reader fill in form fields and save, add or edit text box, sign the document, place a digital signature, add a comment &/or drawing markup annotation.  But neither theTouchUp Text tool is available.
So, no edit to font attributes.
    Be well...

  • Editing tools and search option stopped working after IOS Update

    Hi All,
Since the last IOS & Adobe Reader Update I have been unable to edit or search within existing PDF using the Adobe Reader iPad App.   I have noticed the document now shows as protected on the Iphone Adobe Reader App but does not give me any option to unprotect it.  Please bear in mind I have been editing this document for over 6 months now and the document shows my previous annotations.
Any ideas on how to resolve this issue?
    Many thanks
    S

    Hi Sue,
Yes, we received your PDF document via email.  Thank you!
    I can confirm the following:
Your PDF document is not encrypted or locked by password.
This is a defect in Adobe Reader for iOS version 11.6.4 (or possibly all 11.6.x versions) for the particular type of PDF documents like yours. (The problem does not happen with all PDF documents.) The tools/areas that are affected by the defect: Search, text selection, text markup annotations (highlight, strikeout, and underline).  However, you can still add other types of annotations, namely sticky notes, free text, and freehand drawing, to the PDF document.
The defect has already been fixed in our internal build for a future release.  (I was able to add highlight/strikeout/underline and search text in your PDF document.) Unfortunately, I am not able to speculate on the next release date.
Sorry for the inconvenience. We hope that you switch back to Adobe Reader for iOS once the defect is fixed.
Thank you for reporting the problem!

  • Can draw color be changed?

Is there a way to change the color of the drawing tool to something besides red?

Yes!  To change the color of an existing Freehand drawing
Tap an existing Freehand drawing to bring up a menu.
    Tap "Color..." from the menu.
Select a color from the color palette.
To change the opacity (transparency) of an existing Freehand drawing, select "Opacity..." from the menu at Step 2 above.
To change the thickness of an existing Freehand drawing, select "Thickness..." from the menu at Step 2 above.
Similarly, you can change the color, opacity, and thickness of a handwritten signature and the color and opacity of text markup annotations (highlight, strikeout, underline).
Adobe Reader will remember the color/opacity/thickness of your choice for each annotation type.
Please let us know if you have additional questions.

  • Underlying Drawing Lines Are Changing Color Under My Shapes

    Hello,
I just installed DC last week and noticed the transparent shapes I put on our drawings to highlight certain areas are changing the background lines into other colors. I think this is a feature new to DC but a few of our users would like to disable it. Has anyone else had this issue and/or found a solution? I've attached a screen shot below to help with my explanation.
    Thanks,

  • How do you permanently attach a stamp

I need to know how to may a stamp permanent on a PDF, so it's a part of it that will print and one cannot easily remove.
Currently, when I add a stamp, it doesn't print at all.
Have a similar issue with filled in forms, check boxes, etc., where I'd like to make them permanent. Like being able to create a PDF from a PDF.

To print form fields or comment/markup annotations --
In the Print dialog, upper right region - observe "Comments and Forms" - it has an associated drop-down menu.
Select Documents and Markups or Documents and Stamps or Form Fields Only or go with the default "Document".
To put the annotations into the PDF page content you must flatten them. Acrobat Pro provides Preflights which can be used to flatten form fields or annotations. Pro's Optimizer feature can also be used to flatten form fields. Alternatively there are some "flatten" scripts available (Dave M's Acrobat Ninja blog or at pdfscripting's site).

But I also wanted markup/annotations features in the same acrobat viewer. Is there a way to implement these features? The api given above in the link doesn't seem to provide all the updated features of acrobat. Any kind of help is appreciated.

  • Small error in pdf spec

found a possible error in the pdf spec PDF 32000-1:2008:
    page 385, Table 165 – Annotation flags
    8 bit position - Locked (PDF 1.4)
In pdf 1.4 there was no flag 'locked' at the 8bit position.
(there are also lots of spelling mistakes but don't want to nit-pick ;-)

Actually, that is correct.  As reflected in the PDF 1.5 reference, Section H.3, Notes on 8.4.2:
Acrobat 5.0 obeys the Locked flag only for widget annotations. In Acrobat
6.0, markup annotations support it as well.

  • OCR rotates markups relative to annotation and rest of page

Using Adobe Acrobat X Pro 10.1.13.
I have read may posts about similar content, but not one that seems to address my issue in such a way that it fixes the problem for me.  That's probably because i am a novice user.  Any help is greatly appreciated.
I have scanned a printout of an automated report into PDF.  I added Drawing Markups - Text Boxes as well as Annotations - Sticky Notes.
To do a search for an error ("HIGH" condition), i used CTRL+F, and allowed the text recognition to proceed.  I then saved the doc before closing.  When i re-opened, the Comments i made are now rotated.
Is there a way to get them to rotate back?  I would require step by step direction since i know little about this.  When i read about user spaces, java script, etc. I am over my head.
See attached reference pictures.  I note that the Comments are rotated as if the coordinate system has shifted/rotated 90 degrees from bottom right to bottom left.
    Thanks anyone who can help!

I really don't think Adobe ever imagined people would first add comments, then OCR. If OCR is to be done it would normally follow import/scanning immediately.

  • Editing Pdfs using the Annotations and Drawing Markups

I regularly use the Annotations and Drawing markups on Pdfs on Mac to edit, but since updating to Adobe Reader 11 everything has gone haywire. The Pdf freezes constantly. Although I can still edit on screen, none of the Markup shows in the toolbar so I can't use it to review or navigate around the Pdf. I can't delete the Pop-ups or markup by right clicking as usual. The Save button in the top toolbar doesn't work - I have to go to the Drop down menu, which takes longer. It's impossible to close any Pdfs by clicking the red top left button - I have to go to the Drop down menu to close. It's hopeless! Any suggestions?

  • Drawing Markup and Annotations using Reader with Commenting-Enabled PDFs

I recently purchased Acrobat Standard to produce commentable PDFs for my contributors who use Acrobat Reader.
The page linked below says that I can use Acrobat Standard to "Manage shared reviews, collecting everyone's feedback in one PDF and letting reviewers build on one another's comments‡"
    Adobe Acrobat XI
I have used these features in the past with Acrobat Pro, but there wasn't any documentation that hinted at what appear to be limitations.  For example, using Acrobat Standard I can send a PDF for email review, but the only tools that my contributors can use with Reader are the sticky note and highlighter.  In the past, when I used Pro,  the whole suite of markup capabilities including Drawing Markup and annotations like strikethrough were available.
I have looked everywhere for information about how to enable these other commenting tools, but can't find anything.  Am I missing something or is this some misleading marketing materials that have led me astray.

You either need to upgrade to Acrobat Pro or the users need to upgrade to
Reader XI, where all of the commenting tools are available by default.
