Masking first 5 digits of SSN on People Screen

Hi,
I have a requirement.
1) First part is to mask the first 5 digits of the SSN field on the people screen. Example : If SSN retrieved is 123-45-6789 then the SSN displayed should be ***-**-6789.
2) Second part of the same requirement is : If a change is required to the SSN value then it should be allowed and the user should now enter the SSN twice like the way it is done on the password field on the User creation screen. Example : User enters the SSN and he sees only ***-**-1234 on entry and then on exiting from the field he is prompted to enter it again and again he sees only ***-**-1234. If the 2 entries match then the entry is considered valid and the record is saved.
Anyone having an idea how to get this done on the People screen using Personalization or any other method ?

We are currently storing SSNs as 123456789. We need to continue to store them this way, but would like to display them in a report as only the last 4 digits of the SSN.
Any ideas how I can do this?

In your report, just do a substr(ssn,5,4) for your new & improved SSN field to be displayed:

SUBSTR(ssn,5,4),

Digital signal level on d4 screen

This one is probably for the Verizon employees who monitor these boards.....
What's an optimal signal power level for a digital channel on the diagnostic screen (d4)? How's 36dB? Pretty good?

What is shown on that screen is SNR (signal to noise ratio) and yes 36 dB is good.
However, you and most people are confusing this with signal level or power. Signal level is in dBm, volts, or watts. SNR is a measure of how clean the signal is not how strong it is. You can have 36 dB SNR and huge or small signal - it is simply a ratio of the signal to the noise floor.

When I open the Mask panel, it takes up the entire screen width and the Looks controls disappear, Also, there is a new panel below the Mask panel that seems to have no purpose that I can find. WIth the masking and grading tools placed side-by-side, you can now work faster on the mask workflow." Is there a way to move, hide, or otherwise manipulate the panels for a custom layout? All the examples I can find on the Web show the Looks panel to the left of the Mask panel where the controls are available.

Ok, here is what I have so far. Appdelete the iWork and reinstalled. Pages and Number work, but not Keynote.
Now, I downloaded a couple apps that I need, and no matter what I did, the spinning ball came up and the download stopped till it unlocked itself. It is really frustrating because the download was not completed and whatever came through would not mount. Could this issue be the internet connection? Permission fix showed a lot of Airport issues. I will try to run permissions fix again.

Need help in customizing people screen.

I am new to OA HRMS..
I am implementing the solution for a client which requires follwing :-
In people screen, i need one more form to appear.
Requirement goes like this:-
Navigate to people->Others-->End employment
I want End employment form to come in place of Picture in the people screen and
Picture to go inside Other and replace End employment form.
How can I achieve this?
Immediate help would be appreciated.

actually I configured a customized form and attatched it to the node and then a responsibility by using functions.
but i am facing some issues. The whole person and assignmed form disappears and only other form remains..
I need to interchange End employment form and Picture form from people screen...
Detailed steps would really help...

Email address in People screen and FND user screen

In HR when we create a person record ( Employee / Contingent Worker / Contact etc ) we have a field for email address.
UK HRMS Manager-> People -> Enter and Maintain -> People
Now when we create a user account for the user, in FND user Screen, the email address is auto populated when we type in the name of the person.
System Administrator -> Security -> Users
Now if we change the email address in the People Screen either through PUI or through Employee Self Service, the email address is different in the People screen and in the FND user screen.
1. Am I correct in assuming that the workflow notifications still uses the email address in FND User screen ?
2. Is there a way (a concurrent program or something ) that synchronizes the email address in FND User screen with the one in People screen ?

Hi,
If the user record is linked to an employee, then this is the one that Wokflow will use. If the user is not linked to an employee, then the user email address will be used instead.
There is no way to re-synchronize this - you would have to relink the user and employee again.

Query on People Screen

Hi All,
In the people screen - Enter and Maintain.
There is Others button at bottom right corner. I want to insert an entry into the others tab and invoke my page on clicking that menu.
Can anyone please help me how to create an entry in others tab

This is entirely possible to do and is called HR Taskflows. Navigate to *HRMS Manager > Security > and you'll see the various Task Flow forms there (Nodes, Definitions, Unit etc).

Can I create digital signatures for other people?

I am trying to determine if there are rules/software limitations that prohibit me from creating a digital signature for other people on my PC. As an example, I support a Vice President-can I create his digital signature and store it to use on his behalf? I would also have my own signature created and stored. Thanks.

Consider the following:
if you use your local CA server to issue digital signature certificates, there is no cost, because you are eligible to issue so many certificates as you need. However, documents signed by these certificates will be considered trusted only within your AD
forest and other machines that explicitly trust your local CA. Any external client will not trust your signatures.
If you want to make your signature trusted outside your network (say, in worldwide), you need to pruchase a certificate from trusted commercial CA (VeriSign, GoDaddy, GlobalSign, StartCom, etc) according to respective vendor price list. In that case you
don't need to have your local CA server, because it is not used. All certificate management is performed by the external CA. A most common scenario is to purchase signing certificate for particular departament principals (head managers) or few certificates
for a whole company (all documents are revised by a responsible person or persons who holds signing certificate and sign them after review).

Usually when the phone shows just the white Apple logo, it indicates an issue with the system software that prevents the phone from finishing it's boot sequence. When this happens, you will need to restore the phone, which removes all data and replaces the system software with a fresh set.
Since the phone is not seen in iTunes when it's in this state, you will have to put it into DFU mode for iTunes to see it.
To put the phone in DFU mode:
- make sure the phone is connected to a computer with the current version of iTunes on it.
- hold the sleep/wake button and the home button simultaneously for 8 seconds.
- let go of the sleep/wake button and continue pressing the home button. The iTunes screen will show a short progress bar then show a dialog box stating that an iPod was detected that is in recovery mode.
-click OK
-click the Restore button in the middle of the iTunes page
After the restore the phone should be back up and running and you can sync your data back.

People screen personalize

When the person enter his own record in enter& maintain, it should through error message and close the form.
I am trying to achieve through form personalization using trigger event WHEN-VALIDATE-RECORD. Not sure which
condition to put to get current login person_id dynamically.I have hard coded person id for now to test.
I put message in action type. It is displaying properly. User is not able to change in people screen.
My idea is to close the form when they query their own record. How to achieve?appreciate great help!!

I do know how. If you go system admin and find the responsibility menu you are using. Drill down to the function. Look in the function parameters. You will see the taskflow being used. Then go to HRMS manager and go to Task Flow Definitions. Search for that Taskflow. You can then add nodes to make the items you would like displayed.
Now maybe you can help me out. How do you add the others button :) I have a blank page and I need to add it through personalizations.

I have a requirement that we mask the first 5 digits of an employee's SSN in SSHR Personal Details. Has anyone done this before and if so, how? We have made the field view only already and are looking to take 123-45-6789 and display it as ***-**-6789.

Changing the VO sql looks like a better idea but still more analysis will be required to see the impact. In case VO sql is customized, it should not impact any other code flow where the normal ssn value is expected from the VO.
An easier approach will be to substitute the VO with a VO which has an extra column with the required masked ssn info and show it on page through a new field added by personalization. Set rendered false for the seeded ssn field.

IPad 2, Digital AV Adapter not full screen

Hi,
I bought an Apple Digital AV Adapter three days ago.
I use my iPad 2 connect with Sony Bravia 32' television via Digital AV Adapter,
The iPad 2 instantly connect to the television, but the problem is that the screen that display isn't full screen. I tried with every setting on my iPad and also on the television but still no luck and the scree still appear to be 1/4 of the size.
I also tried with other television from my brother's house and give the same result and I tried with my brother's iPad and samething.
I went to the Apple store and change the cable because I read one of the article in this site and said they change and work so I tried but still giving the same result.
This is a bit out of the topic but I tried with my iPhone 4 (with some hack) and iPhone 4 give full resolution which is kinda weird why not with iPad :/
can anybody give any advice what should I do?

there is a bug in this device, and it's all apples fault with iso 7.
Here is what you need to do to fix it this annoying problem. What you need to do is first power on everything and connect your device up. IN settings look for Settings, General. there will be a little Magic box that shows up only when it's connected and working called video out. select that and look for widescreen, change it to off or no. but the selection you make here does nothing tell you reboot the device. so unplug the video out adapter and reboot the device and once connected up it should show the video in its right aspect ratio now. I played around with this for an hour tell I figured out it needs to be rebooted.

AVI (casio ES-600 digital camera movies) have white screen

Hello.
I recently bought my iPod and i'm trying to convert my AVI Movie files from my Casio Digital Camera to Quick Time. I also purchased the Pro version of Quick Time to try and get rid of the "white screen" but that didn't work. I do have sound, just no picture.
I also went online and downloaded the latest codec's based on various Apple threads (DivX, 3ivX). I still have the "white Screen"
I have also went to Casio's Download to get the latest version of firmware for my camera (v 1.01). That didn't seem to work.
I have also uploaded the latest version of QuickTime.
I have also gone into the QT Preferences and under "video" I "unchecked" the Enable Direct3D video acceleration and then re-opened but that didn't work either. I also tried opening in Safe Mode but that didn't work either.
I have tested all of the above with a different Nikon camera and it works...it is just these specific Casio AVI files that are killing me.
Please help. If you can solve this iPod should give you double bonus points for this one as it is hard to figure out.

Error 1604
This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, using a different dock connector to USB cable, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections. If you are using a dock, bypass it and connect directly to the white Apple USB dock connector cable. If the issue persists on a known-good computer, the device may need service.
If the issue is not resolved by USB isolation troubleshooting, and another computer is not available, try these steps to resolve the issue:
Connect the device to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode,put it into Recovery Mode.
Restore and wait for the error.
When prompted, click OK.
Close and reopen iTunes while the device remains connected.
The device should now be recognized in Recovery Mode again.
Try to restore again.
If the steps above do not resolve the issue, try restoring using a known-good USB cable, computer, and network connection.
