Mass upload in KM maintaining the up-to-date versions of documents

Hello guys,
I need to do the Mass Upload in Repository Manager (persistence mode DB) in KM.
My documents are stored in a file system, where they have versioning control. I need to upload the documents in portal with the up-to-date version.
I have activated the versioning in the folder that I intend to upload the documents, but when I have done the upload, the documents have stayed with versions number = 1.
Could you tell me what I need to do for upload the documents with the up-to-date version number, for example, if a document in file system has the version number 5, when I do the upload in the portal, the document should stay with the same version, 5 instead 1.

There is only one document. There arenu2019t any old versions of document, the version of the document is kept by the author in the document, but only as a reference, to indicate that the document already was modified x times.
The situation is like that:
You open the Microsoft Word application and you created a document.
You have the necessity to modify the document.
You open the document and modify it and save it.
Now the document has 2 versions, but the document is the same, no document is created from this.
Inside the document in the second page, the author kept the versions, for example, the author creates a table where he specify the document version, like that:
Version     Date            Author
01      13-08-2008        Mary
02             14-08-2008        Mary
I want to know what I need to do for when I upload the document in the portal, itu2019s appears with versions = 2 instead 1.
Any idea about it.

I saved different version of this project for various purposes, but they were all named differently(i.e joe and mary wedding, joe and mary wedding 2, joe and mary wedding 3, joe and mary wedding 3.1). I do not know if they just pulled the timelines from the earliest version, eradicated the data entirely, or something else.
Since the program prompts me to create and save a new version for the updated premier, I still have the previous projects, but cannot open them. I imagine they are unchanged, but cannot be sure.
Thoughts? Is it possible to uninstall an update re-install it later?
Please advise.

Add to right click menu of timelines an entry for "go to next keyframe" and "go to last keyframe" a la After Effects, we should also be able to assign a kb shortcut to this.
There are buttons on either side of the create keyframe button to advance forward or backward in the effects control panel or timeline.
You can also advance forward or backward in the effects control window by holding shift while dragging the playhead.
Allow copy/paste of selection of audio/video effects, not just one at a time. Sure we can copy/paste attributes but since we can also copy/paste effects it would only make sense to allow to copy/paste a selection of effects.
I guess I don't get this one. If I have 5 effects on a clip, I can simply command-click on the ones I want to copy over to the other clip.

I have just bought a new laptop. itunes currently used on PC. Do I need to downloand the up to date version of itunes directly on to new laptop before I try to copy my music library over to laptop.

Proper way to get the latest published Major version of Document

Hi,
I have a Document Library which has "Create major and minor (draft) versions" enabled.
Now, from my C# application I need to fetch the latest major version of a document from that library.
What is the proper way to do this?
As of right now, I do the following:
return sourceFolder.Files["documentName.docx"]; // sourceFolder is a SPFolder object
Now, I don't trust that this will always give me the latest published major version of the document. Or am I wrong? If I'm wrong, how should I do this?

Problem
When you store critical documents in the SharePoint libraries, sometimes it becomes necessary to track all the changes and to maintain version history for them.
Solution
There might be a time when you would need to restore files back to an older version if any inadvertent change happens. You can also track changes for auditing purposes.
So how does SharePoint allow creating different versions of documents? How does version history work? What are the different types of versions we can maintain for our library or list and how can we revert back to an older version?
SharePoint allows you to enable (by default it's disabled) versioning on lists and libraries. Once enabled, SharePoint will maintain multiple versions of the document or list which gets incremented on each change iteration. There are three different versioning
settings:
No versioning - This is the default setting in which the current version overwrites the older version. There are no previous versions stored. This setting is not recommended especially if your document library contains critical or important
documents.
Create major versions - Also called simple versioning, in this setting the document versions will be numbered with whole numbers, called major versions, i.e. 1, 2, 3, 4 etc.
Create major and minor (or draft) versions - In this setting document versions will be numbered with whole numbers (1, 2, 3, 4 etc.) as well as numbers with decimals (.1, .2, .3, .4 etc.). The whole number is called the major version
(indicates final copy) and the numbers with a decimal are called minor versions (indicates work is still in progress). You use this setting if your document goes through several iterations/drafts/reviews (minor versions) and you want only the final copy (major
version) to be published to a broader audience.
Please note for a list or list items, the only option available for versioning is creating major versions, no minor versions are created.
Once versioning is enabled SharePoint automatically and transparently creates the next version of the document whenever a user updates a document in the library. These are some of the different scenarios when SharePoint will create a new version for your
document or list item:
When a new document or list item is created or uploaded into SharePoint, version 1 is created if the option
Create major versions option is enabled or version 0.1 is created when
Create major and minor (or draft) versions is enabled (not applicable for list items) and when you publish it then next higher major version is created.
When you upload a document with the same name as an already existing document in the library and check the
Add as a new version to existing files check box, the existing file becomes an older version and the new uploaded document will have next higher version number.
When any properties (metadata fields) of the document or list item is changed.
When you Check-in a document that was previously Checked-out.
When you open a document in the associated application, edit and save it for the first time. On subsequent changes no new versions will be created as long as you don't close the application and re-open it.
When you restore the old version of the document.
Please note, although the demonstration in this tip has been shown in SharePoint 2010, the versioning feature has been part of previous SharePoint versions as well.

Why does every site, even Mozilla's, detect my Firefox as an old version when I have the up to date version?

My Firefox is updated, I have the 7.0.1. version, when I open Tools and click about Firefox it shows me just that, the 7.0.1. version. But every time I navigate to a website that offers download for it, I get the message I need to update. Even here, at Firefox help, the site warns me: '''''Warning: Firefox 3.6 will only be maintained with security and stability updates for a short period of time. Please update to the latest version of Firefox.'''''
Also if I want to install an add-on, I can't because 'it's not available for 3.6'
I uninstalled it and installed it again, no use. What could be the problem?

How to maintain the old Transports History & versioning

I recently executed an OS/DB migration of an ECC 5.0 system from Unix to Linux with Oracle. The SAP landscape is 3 tier with D-Q-P and right now only the Dev system has been migrated. The customer wants to ensure how to transfer all the old Transport files including the versioning and history information in the new target system. Please help. Thanks.

I am getting the subject error message when I try to compile, using VS, a VB Forms app which I had been developing on a desktop machine but which I am now developing on a laptop. I am using exactly the same VS files as they are in Dropbox. (And
incidentally I no longer have access to the desktop machine.)
The subject error message points to: Imports MySql.Data.MySqlClient
I have been down this path before and can usually, eventually, resolve it by installing something and then creating a reference to the right dll. For me that's an iterative process as it's not always obvious, to me, what I need to install and which
file needs to be referenced.
But the only help I am seeking from this groups is: What makes VS think that it needs "Version=6.8.3.0"? I am pretty certain that I never told it that it needed that version. And how can I change its mind so that it will compile
using a different version?
I keep telling it to use
... but it doesn't like it and I don't know if the problem is that it's the wrong version or if the problem is that it doesn't contain the right stuff.

The version shown here does not say that this is the version that is required, it indicates the version of the assembly that was referenced.
What will determine the version that is required, or if a specific version is required, will be the properties that you set on the reference, which can be viewed by clicking on the reference in Visual Studio and setting "Specific Version" to true
or false, the software in question and if the signatures match up to what you are binding to.
Now, for your specific issue, I tend to add a NuGet reference for SQLite and it makes updating versions, and maintaining specific version requirements, much nicer than using a globally installed version of the SQLite libraries.

HT4623 My I pad has iOS 5.1.1 installed. When i check for an update it says that 5.1.1 is the up to date version and will not allow me to install a later version.

Hi,
The original iPad is limited to iOS 5.1.1 - where you are right now. This means you cannot get any further version of iOS. This is due to this not having enough power or memory. All other iPads and iPad Minis can get up to the current iOS 7.0.4.

Hi, on the home page just under the google search bar in the middle of the page I keep getting the message that I am not running the latest version of Firefox and not getting the most from the web. When I click the link it takes me to the advert for the Android version and the latest version of Firefox. I have the latest version and just in case I downloaded it again, and yet, I still get this little message saying I dont have the latest version. Its not a problem for me but I just wondered why my computer is not picking up that I have the latest version. I also have the computer set so that it takes all upgrades to the software.

How do I keep the original creation date showing? The date seems to change when I edit.

I don't know if there is a setting somewhere to maintain the original creation date when a document is edited. What is happening is that when I edit a document, even if it was created months ago, the creation date is often changed (though strangely not always). I know most settings are document specific, so perhaps I have unwittingly unchecked a setting on the ones that changed. I should note that previous version are being maintained through my back up and do show up in the list when I select Revert to from the File menu. But the creation date shows the date of the most recent edit on those files.
I use a MacBook Pro and an iPad to create and edit documents and am using the most recent version on both.

You can change the creation date using Terminal application:
touch -t YYYYmmDDhhSS /path/to/file
IE:
touch -t 200001010101 ~/Untitled\ 2013-10-11\ at\ 8.15.04\ PM.png
This produces (from the screenshot I just took):
To change the modification date only, it would be touch -mt ....etc
As to why this is occuring, what is the creation date showing....//1969?

Mass upload contract with "Distribute Contract to Catalog" flag

I need to mass upload contract to update the flag "Distribute Contract to Catalog" (for srm mdm). What are the options. I don't see any option of that flag in the screen "Change Contracts: Mass Processing"

Solved on own
One needs to maintain System type as 'CATALOG' in SPRO >Define Backend Systems.
This makes the Distribute Contract Catalog check box to be visible in the Header tab of contract.

with FlexUI, unfortunately, the possibilities that you have regarding your requirement are very limited.
To implement an enhanced upload to KM it is advisable to either use GWT (Google Web Toolkit) or the preferred and recomended language WebDynpro Java.

Hi, pls advise how to upload 09 insp type and active button in qm view of material master thru mass upload? pls note that presently same materials are already uploaded with 01 insp type, we want to add one more insp type 09. pls advise how to do the same.

In n QA08>select material plant->go to mass upload tab->enter 09 inspection type->check with change material document * execute-->you will get the list of all material with additional screen where you can select the task list ,check char etc.
-->select all the materials & click on save button
check the message after saving all.
