Master Catalog = Procurement Catalog

Hi SRM Gurus,
Whenever I create a Master Catalog it is becoming as Master Catalog ( Procurement Catalog).
In the first screen dropdown, in Edit catalogs, if I select the Procurement Catalog, then my Master Catalog is also being shown.
I want to know whether our master catalog is also considered as procurment catalog only.
I have other procurement catalogs available in our system.
We are working in SRM 4.0 and CCM 2.0 version.
Reg.,
Sridhar.

Hi,
The Master Catalog is a procurement catalog, it differs very little from any other procurement catalog in the system, one main difference is probably related to mapping, i.e. that in the procurement catalog you define mapping 'From', in the Master catalog you define no mappings as it is the central repository, i.e. data is either mapped into or from it, none of these definitions are ever processed in the Master though only in the Supplier/Contract/Extracted or Procurement catalogs.
If you change the name of this Master Catalog in customizing it will render the 'Old' master catalog as a Procurement catalog in your system so you will see what appears sometimes to be two masters!!

  • CCM - content of customer characteristic not mapped to procurement catalog

    Hi experts,
I uploaded a sample CSV-file supplier catalog. Within the supplier catalog I defined a customer characteristic of type /CCM/ATTACHMENT.
The supplier catalog is uploaded without any problems and also the /CCM/ATTACHMENT characteristic is filled correctly with description, mime type and URL.
I mapped now the supplier catalog to the master catalog and then to the procurement catalog.
All the content except the content of the customer characteristic /CCM/ATTACHMNENT is mapped to the master and procurement catalog. The characteristic /CCM/ATTACHMENT is available in the master and procurement catalog and I can even see the characteristic there. But no content is in there.
Are there any additional steps when I try to map customer characteristic? The characteristic is in definitely available in the master and procurement catalog schema and catalog.
Thanks in advance for your help! I will reward points.
    Tom

    Hi,
Try select both the characteristic in mapping, do "Assign Characteristics" for automatic characteristic assignment, include sub categories and SAVE.
A message will appear for assigning characteristic, then go for MAP CONTENT all items will be mapped and will be obtained in Procurement catalog.

  • Deleting all items in a Procurement Catalog

I loaded a Procurement Catalog with new data via supplier catalog => master catalog => procurement catalog. There were some problems with the original data, however now I loaded it 3 times and many of the items in the Procurement catalog are tripled!
How can I just delete all the items in the Procurement  Catalog and republish from the Master catalog? That way the tripled items (and some old corrupted items) will all go away and I can start fresh. We have CCM .
    Thanks,
    Laetitia

Once you archive than oyu can create new PI document for the same mateirals.
For archiving you need to set up the
Instead of MM-MATBEL select Physical iunventory object then follow
Presently trying to archive material documents through SARA and using object MM_MATBEL. Is this only for inventory maange ment or mat doc generated through process orders can also be archived (transaction type WR).
For variant picking the document on the date basis. But when execute it says no document found while documents are there in the MKPF table.
Further when trying using program RM07MARCNot able to do archive the same.

  • How to delete and create the CCM MASTER CATALOG in Catalog Content?

    Hi All,
Please provide the solution as we are in real trouble.
We have to delete master catalog and upload it again. Deletion is done because the mapping and all are being corrupted. SAP has suggested to delete the catalog and again upload it and do all the mapping again related to supplier and procurement catalog
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_srm50/helpdata/en/7f/9b62405c910272e10000000a155106/frameset.htm.
In the link above I found information really useful, however according to the document the CCM MASTER CATALOG should be created automatically by the SAP Catalog Authoring Tool, this happens the first time that you are using the system.
    Catalog Creation
You use this function to create catalogs in SAP Catalog Authoring Tool.
You can create the following types of catalogs:
    Supplier catalogs
    Procurement catalogs
    Model service catalogs
    Note
SAP Catalog Authoring Tool creates the master catalog, the SRM product catalog, SRM contract catalogs, and the contract catalog for service specifications automatically.
When SAP Catalog Authoring Tool is used for the first time, you must open the Edit Catalogs application once, before you create any catalogs. Choosing Edit Catalogs triggers the creation of the master catalog. If you do not do this, SAP Catalog Authoring Tool outputs an error message when you try to create a catalog.
We have already the Master Schema and we know how to map the CCM MASTER CATALOG to the supplier and procurement catalogs. The main problem is that we need to delete the CCM/MASTERCATALOG and created again.
    1. How delete the CCM/MASTERCATALOG?
In a Test environment I have delete the CCM/MASTERCATALOG using the "Edit Catalogs" mode then choosing the catalog and confirm the deletion.
Once this has been done, all the catalogs has been erased including the CCM/MASTERCATALOG, so now we have the system in blank. I am not sure if this is the correct way to delete the catalog or there is an easiest way where the Procurement and supplier catalogs don't disappear once the CCM/MASTERCATALOG is deleted.
    2. Once the CCM/MASTERCATAOG is deleted how to created again?
According to the instructions the SAP Catalog Authoring Tool should created this automatically when is used for the first time, however how we can created the CCM/MASTERCATALOG again if the SAP Catalog Authoring Tool is not used for the fist time.
Is there a way where the system can create the CCM/MASTERCATALOG for a second time?
I follow the steps to create the CCM/MASTERCATALOG for the first time however I didn't get a positive result.
Any help provided will be really appreciated.

    Hi,
Generation of the /CCM/MASTER_CATALOG is automatic and does not require any additional effort from a catalog admin other than accessing the CDC (Edit Catalogs).
If the catalog is not regenerated at this point it is likely that you then receive an error like 'Error reading catalogs, error reading Master Catalog' or something similar which would indicate that the previous deletion of the master from either table /CCM/D_CTLG or /CCM/D_CTLG_REQ was not successfully completed or that the update operation in table /CCM/D_UPD_STATE remained in update status and never for some reason completed (status 03).
Deletion of the Master catalog should not cause the deletion of any other catalog, unless you have chosen 'delete all catalogs'! Choosing the Master and delete should result in only a deletion request for the master catalog, be aware however that all mapping records between Supplier -> Master -> Procurement catalogs will be destroyed and cannot be 'rejoined' but only rebuilt from scratch. It is also advisable after the Master deletion to chcek with report /CCM/CLEANUP_MAPPING which orphaned items and mapping records require cleanup as it is better to remove these before proceeding with the new mappings.

  • CCM automated (batch) upload program to Procurement Catalog

    Hello to all,
There does not appear to be a report to enable an automated (batch) upload program to a CCM Procurement Catalog.  This is a problem for customers who need off-hours periodic updating of their procurement catalog.
Has anyone encountered this problem and has found or developed a solution?
Thanks in advance for you help and comments.
    Frank Heisner

Frank: to clarify things, the process is to upload content into Supplier Catalogs, and then map to Master and Procurement.
And you're correct - there is no standard report for uploads. But you can develop a custom one. An example of such can be found in the <a href="https://websmp206.sap-ag.de/~sapdownload/011000358700002122802006E/CCM_Migr_enhanceMarch_9th.ppt">Requisite-to-CCM Migration Toolkit</a>.

  • CCM - need advise on procurement catalog

    Hi,
I'm in the process of creating catalog using CCM for different legal entities. As I undrestand, I can either creating various master catalog views or different procurement catalogs so that I can control users only see the content belongs to his/her own legal entity. But I'm not sure what is the best way.
Can somebody help to advise which one is better, creating different master catalog view or creating procurement catalogs? Or is there any other good solutions?
    Thanks so much.

    Hi Masa,
Thanks so much for your answer. It proved some of my thoughts. But my case is not that simple.
    First of all, item price might not be same, but it should be able to be separated by different suppplier number;
Second, some companies will use same category structure but a few may use a different one. But as I see, most of structure should be very similar. In this case, is it a better idea to use one master catalog and multiple views? Or, can I use procurement catalog for a few companies but others use different master catalog views?
And I have two more questions:
    1. After a catalog is created, can catalog ID be changed? Our master catalog ID is not very proper, so I am wondering whether I can change it.
    2. For category structure, can one product category show under multiple parent categories? If yes, how to realize it?
    Thanks a lot!

I have also tried to upload the product masters using the CSV file, but the here also the log status is in green, but the product masters are not updated in catalogs.
I will once again check the XI settings.

  • Reg: hook_URL in Punchout Catalog Procurement

    Hi Gurus,
Now i am working on Punchout Catalog Procurement scenario.
1)I have 2 vendors to which the Punchout needs to set up. I have completed the settings for one Vendor and it is working very fine without any issues.
2)But when i use the same for the second Vendor, i am not able to bring back the items to SAP. I am having similar issues with this particular Vendor URL. For eg, when i login for the first time of the day, it will allow me with my User Id and Pwd what i have defined. It allows me to do the shopping but when i click on Check out, it will diaplay an error message "Error Logging In. Please contact your System admin". When i try to punch out for the second time it is not picking the Id and pwd automatically. The same is working for the Other Vendor. Please advice what settings need to be done for the enablement.
    3) When i checked on the XML log for the transactions done, it is throwing a message sapevent:POST for hook_URL.I am not able to get any clue regarding this.Through some lights on this.
Ecpecting your reply. Thanks in advance.

    Hi Gurus,
I have been tasked with punching out to xml from EEC6. Can anyone provide any information on how to get started?
    Many thanks in anticipation

    Many Thanks in Advance

    Sanjay,
We are planning to do catalog procurement through SAP PM work orders. We are currently on ECC 5.0 and wil be upgrading to 6.4 in Dec 2010. Do we need to have SRM for setting up catalog?
    Appreciate you reply.

Your solution worked when applied to a administrative user account but did work with a student account.
I'm not sure why that is happening.
If you're on Vista or Windows 7, you could try setting the program to run permanently as Administrator, as described here:
    http://www.johnrellis.com/psedbtool/photoshop-elements-faq.htm#_Slide_show_preview
If that doesn't help, my only suggestion would be to work through these tedious troubleshooting steps:

  • There was a problem opening the catalog 'My Catalog' PSE 4.0

In the new PSE 4.0 I always get the message "There was a problem opening the catalog 'My Catalog'", then after pressing the start button again, the catalog starts. Is that the same error that was solved in Version 3.0 with the update 3.0.1.
That would be not very nice!!!! :(.

Have you done a catalogue recover?

  • Unable to Open Catalog 'My Catalog'

Hi. I have just downloaded and installed PSA SE 3.0 under Windows/2K SP4. I have an Administrator and 3 Users defined, one of which has Administrator rights. When I logon as either Administrator or the other authorized user, PSA SE runs just fine. When I logon as either of the other two users (who don't have Administrator rights), and start PSA SE, I get this message: "Unable to open catalog 'My Catalog' because you do not have permission to open it. Please select an action to perform: 1.Open an existing catalog, or 2.Create a new catalog named 'My Catalog-1.psa'" If I select option 1 (Open an existing . . .", I get the same error. If I select option 2 (Create . . .", I get the error: "Unable to create a new catalog. Please reinstall Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.0". Of course I can't reinstall it from the "non-Administrator" users. When I log back on as Administrator and check for Photoshop SE updates, it says there aren't any. While on as Administrator I went into PSA SE Properties 'Security' tab and gave 'Read&Execute', 'Read', and 'Write' authority to the the "non-Administrator" users and still got all the same previous errors. What is the problem and what is he solution? Thanks.

Thanks. Might be making some progress. As I said before I had followed the path suggested by Help > System Information. Had also done amendment to Show Hidden Files, which the database seems to be.
But have now taken your advice and unticked the box relating to "Hide file extensions for known file types".
Using Windows Explorer on the old computer I now find that My Catalog folder includes a file named "catalog.pse7db"
File size is approx 19,500Kb - so this would appear to be the relevant file.
Have also now followed the Help>System information path on the new computer and the My Catalog folder also contains a file "catalog.pse7db". But file size is only 119Kb - so clearly not the version from the old machine.
Not sure if this might be relevant but have just noticed a slight difference in the locations indicated by Photoshop
    On old machine this is C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application data\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\Catalogs\My Catalog
On new machine this is C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\Catalogs\My catalog
Also just noticed that the bottom part of the dialogue box on new computer indicates "Operating System name = Vista Version 6.1"
Puzzling - as new machine definitely has Windows 7 installed and have never had Vista on either computer.

  • Catalog procurement from Maintenance Order

    Hi Gurus,
My client is implementing Punchout Catalog from SAP ECC 6.0. we are not into SRM server. I made the settings in Web services ID and Description and i am able to do shopping from Vendors URl and return back to SAP ECC.
Now 1) they want to populate the Vendor name automatically into SAP, which is not getting carried.
    2) I want to link the Punchout Catalog to Work order scenario also. For that i need to define the Order type and Catalog in the Link "Interface for Procurement Using Catalog" under the node Plant Maintenance and Customer service which i am not getting.
Please advice me what needs to be done or what settings or any BADI needs to be activated on this issue.
Thanks for your response in advance,
I am not sure is this the right place to post this thread. Please advice.
    Thanks,
    Saakithyan.
