Match Data dialog window in Master Data Services Excel Add-in

Hello, I am following the Enterprise Information Management using SSIS, MDS, and DQS Together
on
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj819782.aspx. I am now in lesson 4 Task 4 on
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/13a13f03-b307-4555-8e33-6d98c459d994.
I click the Match Data button in the ribbon in step 21. According to the tutorial the Match Data dialog window should look like this:
However, the Match Data dialog window I have looks like this:
Am I doing something wrong? Or am using a different version of the Master Data Excel Add-in?
I use SQL Server 2012 Developer Edition version 11.0.3000. Master Data Excel Add-in 11.0.2100. Excel 2010. Both Master Data Services and Data Quality Services are installed. Integration between those is configured. I have a full Master Data ribbon containing
the Data Quality buttons, which indicates DQS integration is configured.

I seem to be having the same issue i.e the Match
Data dialog window that I have looks like the one you show
I am using:
SQL Server 2012 Service Pack 1 (SP1) MDS Add-In For Excel:
 11.0.3393.0
SQL Server 2012 Developer Edition: Microsoft
SQL Server 2012 (SP1) - 11.0.3128.0 (X64)       
Don't know if you got anyhere with the issue recently.?

    Hello,
    If u are using Analyser then just put a Analysis Grid on the output of the query(should cover all the rows and column) , click on the grid and put the dataprovider. and do auto fit.

    Hi,
    You can load transaction data without loading master data.
    You have the option in the info package to load data even if no master data exists..
    You may use it in cases where your transfer rules/update rules or routines donot refer to master data tables to populate transaction data..

  • Can we restrict a master data characterstic using another master data chara

    Hi All,
    Can we restrict a master data characterstic using another master data characterstic, if they were both compounded together. There are two fields viz.., A,B  in r/3 master data table in which A and B combinely serve as a key. In BW side i have created a master data object for A and compuded object B ot it. So that i am getting all the data from r/3 table. But in query designer when i am trying to restrict object A values by object B, in a structure i am not getting any data. If i do same out of structure i am getting data in report. Please help in overcoming this problem.

    Yes it should display data, but it is not displaying. If i am doing the same restriction out side of a structure i am getting data. But whilr trying to do so, i am not getting that. The reason why i am bothering about structure is 'Objext B have 10 different values and i want 10 coloumns in report in whicg Obj A must display respective data when i restrict it by B' , whicg i can do this only if i use structure else i can't restrict B that many times .
    I hope u got my problem and plz give help me in this.

  • Complex data model question regarding master data

    Hi Experts,
    I have a requirement to add master data retail price and master data cost into BW.
    Both amounts are based on plant and material.  How do I model this?
    Here is how the records are coming in via the datasource:

    Here's what I am thinking....
    1.  Add UofM, Cost, and Retail prices as attributes of 0MAT_PLANT infoObject
        Also make those attributes time dependent.
    2.  Use ABAP slit up the cost info and the retail info and use the valid dates above for the time dependent from/to dates in 0MAT_PLANT
    Example:
    0MAT_PLANT attributes:
    Plant   Material      UofM Cost    ValidityFrom ValidityTo    Retail
    0001   1000321      EA    $1.00   5/1/07          5/9/07
    0001   1000321      CS    $8.00   5/5/07          5/7/07
    0001   1000321      EA               6/6/07          6/9/07         $2.99
    0001   1000321      CS               8/6/07          9/9/07         $9.99
    After looking at the above, I need to compound UofM with 0MAT_PLANT somehow.  How would I do that?
    Is this the best way to model this?

    Chris,
    I wouldn't include those amounts as attributes for 0MAT_PLANT. In general it doesn't make too much sense, except in some very specific cases, to make a Key Figure an Attribute of a Characteristic.
    I wouldn't either modify the 0MAT_PLANT key to compound it with UOM... Not a good idea, in my opinion.
    In your case, those values can change over time, depending on the validity period. So you could have several records with different validity periods for the same Material and Plant combination.
    I'd rather create an ODS with these values. The key fields would be 0MAT_PLANT and the validity dates and the data fields would be the amounts.
    You could use and include this ODS in any Multicube or get the values based on the validity periods by using ABAP routines if you need to.
    Another thing, as SAP recommends, an InfoObject with more than 500,000 records shouldn't be modeled as Master Data. And 0MAT_PLANT is a perfect candidate for this situation.
    So I'd advise to go with the ODS solution.

         Message no. R3005
    Diagnosis
         The InfoSource 8ZPA_0022 specified in the data request, is not defined

         The data transfer is terminated.
    Procedure
         In the Administrator Workbench of the Business Information Warehouse,
         update the metadata for this source system, and delete the InfoPackages
         belonging to InfoSources that no longer existing ."
    But,the InfoSource 8ZPA_0022 is not problem,how can I do？thanks.

    Hi,
    as suggested by the message, did you update the meta data by doing a replication of datasources for the source system 'myself'? If not, do so and reactivate the communication structure. Then reload.

  • How to load data for attribute of Master Data Object from PSA

    Hi Experts,
    I have a Master data Object, 0Equipment.
    I loaded data to PSA from R/3.
    I am able to see records for Zxxx field in PSA.
    I have added a new mapping object Zxxx in BW.
    But, when I loaded the data from PSA to Master Data Object, 0Equipment,
    I am not able to see records for Zxxx which is an attribute of 0Equipment.
    I do see the records for rest of the attributes of this Master Data Object.
    I tried deleting and reloading the data
    and treid to check attribute change run
    Please let me know if I am missing something in loading the Master Data from PSA

    I checked all the records in Maintain Master Data and did set the Zxxx Not Equal To Blank.
    No data for Zxxx InfoObject, eventhough there is data in the corresponding field in PSA.
    I did 1:1 mapping.

  • How to compare the data in a view with data present in a master data?

    We have loaded some data into a Master Data Object (YMETADATA) in Development system.
    Now, the same data can be present in a view RSDVCHA.
    Our aim is to write a ABAP program, which would read a record from RSDVCHA and look into Master Data records and show whether it is present in the master data or not?
    Has anyone written such type of code earlier, If so, please do help me out in writing this code?

    It looks that the view is based on the master data table itself and view doesn't contain data and is a logical representation of the underlying database tables.
    Moreover the view RSDVCHA is used for viewing the  characteristics, basic chars and local properties.
    Are you storing similar values in YMETADATA?

  • Loading data from one master data attr.to another master data in production

    Hi all,
    I have two two masterdata attr info objects A and B( have time dependent attr.).
    according to businees requirement i have included 8 objects of A TO B to make them as time dependent.
    all reports are designed on infosets only having these A and B ,some other ods objects.
    I have done mapping in infosets and made changes in queries according to changes.i when moved from dev to quality and checked all infosets and queries all changes are reflecting in infosets  and queries in quality.
    *QUETIONS * :
    1. while executing queries i am getting 'no data' in the reult of query output.
    2. How can get 8 fields data from A to B, because A has lot of data for that 8 fields in A in production

    first of all maintain the master data to attributes and these attribute converted into Navigational Attributes
    in this way u can get master data at query output

  • Master Data Atrribute of another Master Data

    Hello Gurus,
    I have the below scenario.
    Master Data with Text ZMDATA1 with Attributes ZMATTR1 and ZMATTR2.
    Master Data With Text ZMDATA2 with Attributes ZMDATA1 and ZMATTR3.
    when I load Master data to ZMDATA2, will it automatically update ZMDATA1 Master Data as well or not.
    Could you please explain more about this scenario.

    I found that when data is loaded to ZMDATA2, it is not even creating an SID for ZMDATA1.
    so, are they completely independent ? Is there any way to update the Master Data ZMDATA1 automatically when new values come across while loading data to ZMDATA2.

    Hi,
    This is the procedure.
    1. Create m-data with or without attributes.
    2. Create infosource .
        a) with flexible update
             or
        b) with direct update
    3. Create transfer rules and assign tyhe names of m-data and attribute in "Transfer rules" tab and transfer them to communication structure.
    4. Create the flat-file with same stucture as communication structure.
    5. if chosen direct update then create infopackage and assign the name of flat-file and schedule it.
    6. if chosen flexible update the create update rule with assigning name of the infosource and the schedule it by creating infopackage.

  • Difference between text data and attributes in master data?

    Hello,
    a charcteristic in BW maintains texts, hierarchies and attributes.
    What exactly is the difference between texts and attributes?
    Attributes describe master data like a customer. The country where the customer resides, the industry etc. describe and classify the customer. Attributes are not just the structure/metadata of the characteristics. They are also the content. The following table should visualize what i mean:
    customer-no. | name
    112          | mcpherson inc.
    113          | donalds inc.
    Texts contain contain the description of a characteristic. Texts define a characteristic. An example is the customers name. It does not describe the customer but defines him/her.
    Is my understanding about these two parts of master data right?
    What else except the customer's name belongs to the texts?
    If I set up a characteristic like the customer in SAP BW, do I have to create an attribute "name". The name belongs to texts, not to attributes?? If I upload master data then, how does it work?

    If your analysis includes country and region then country  and region should be included in the Infocube.This is required because only if you include these characteristics then you can restrict your queries for country and region.You may need to select some particular countires/region and show the report.Then you have to restrict your queries to only those countries/region.This is possible only if you have these  characteristic in your infocube.
    I am just envisaging your model like this.
    Characteristic in the Infocube
    Customer
    Country
    Region
    Customer Attributes
    Customer Number (SID which is self generated)
    Customer Address1,2 ,3
    Registration No
    Date of Registration
    Deposit Amount
    etc ...
    Region Attributes
    Region Number (SID)

    Number of Sales Persons
    Customer Attributes
    Customer Number (SID)
    Total Customers
    Head Office Address
    Number of Sales Persons
    GDP
    Total Population
    So the conclusion is whichever entity you want to restrict or analyse should be a part of Infocube.It is very difficult to do analysis based on attributes as I mentioned in my earlier post that they are only "Display attributes" (u can just show that's it).
    Yes!! there are  methods available for analysis based on characteristics in attributes table and you have to do either with virtual characteristic or replacement path or with writing code in customer exits.But a good design and earlier study of all possible report combination and having a good design will avoid good amount of development time and changes.
    I have suffered  when I had only 0CALDAY in my cube and when I want to take a monthly analysis, I was unable to do it and then I have to redesign my whole cube.
    Please anyone, correct me if I am wrong.

    Dear Xperts i had an issue regarding integration of FI and HR Master Data.in pe03 i changed the feature ANLAC by Replacing N with Y because of this the integration get ON but the issue is that whenever our FI consultant assign asset to any personal number say for example Personnel number 1.then if i create it40 for personnel number 2 that asset which is assigned to personel number 1 is displaying in it40 in asset fiel of personal number 2 but we assigned to 1 not to 2 what will be the problem could u please help me in this regard

    Say for e.g i assign two different assets to two different personal numbers e.g asset no 14000235 to pernr no 1 and asset no 14000236 to pernr no2 but when i maintian them in pa30 in infotype40 if firslty before mainting asset no for 1 i maintian it for pernr no 2 it is displaying asset no 14000235 which is for pernr no 1 not for pernr no 2 is their any way that respective asset number should come in personal to whom i assigned in FI
