Material revaluation without valuation type

Hi Experts,
In material master, materials are extended to valuation types. and we have materials assigned to valuation types as well as not assigned (means valuation type is blank)
Example as below...
1000000000     2000
1000000000     2000     LSB
1000000000     2000     N-REC
1000000000     2000     NORMAL
1000000000     2000     REC
Now I want to do a revaluation (MR21) for the material without (1st line of my example) valuation type. How can I do it?
Thanks

if your material is split valuated, then  you can do price changes with MR21 only at valuation type level.
the account data level without valuation type is the so-called header level which is the aggregation of all valuation type levels.
you cannot change a price information at header level.
The price at header level  will calculate based on price and quantity at the valuation type levels.
if there is no stock in any of your valuation types, then you have no chance to manipulate the price at header level with MR21 or MM02.

If you are using the direct input method, you should see a structure for MBEW which you can fill to update the price.
The fields are in structure BMMH1.

  • Same material with some valuation type does not post accounting documeents

    Hi Experts,
For a finished goods material has two valuation types and each assigned to a different valuation class.
For example Valuation type PLANT is with valuation class PROD, Valuation type EXTERNAL is with valuatioin class RESL.
When I post any material document, accounting document is getting created only for valuation type EXTERNAL.
The automatic account determination is configured properly with both valuation classes for Transaction event key BSX.
Also the simulation of the account determination (OMWB) is showing perfect and hitting the required accounts.
Where is the setting to control this? How to make the system to create an accounting document even if the material is received/issued with Valuation type PROD?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
I checked up this scenario and is working alright. Acc docs are created for all the valuation types.
    Here the issues are:
           1. Check the configuration and master data for valuations.
           2. System is not giving any error for any material document. It means that
the transaction is clear. Check the price for val type PLANT is not zero.

  • Material master without valuation class

    Hi,
Is it possible to have material master (of different material types) without valuation class?
Also, is it possible to have only one GL account getting reflected for all these materials when we do posting (at the time of Goods receipt) irrespective of material types ?
    Regards,
    Sid

It is useful in the sense that user do not have to manually do an Account Assignments.
For stock items, valuation class cannot be changed whenever the stock on hand is not zero.
Valuation class are tied to a G/L account.
A change of valuation class means a change of G/L account.
In FI concept, you have to debit and credit to balance the G/L account.  That is why your stock must be zero before the system allows you to changed the valuation class.  If it is not zero, you have to either transfer it to another material or do a dummy issues.  After changing the valuation class, do a reversal entries for the stocks which you have transfer out or you have done a dummy issues

  • Material block for Valuation Type

    Hi,
I would like to block material for the particular valuation type. That means the system should not allow me to create PO or any document for that valuation type.
How shall i can do in SAP? I know in MM06 we can set deletion flag for the material for the particular Valuation type but after doing this deletion indicator also the system is allowing me to create a material with Valuation type.

  • Material with different Valuation types in WM Stock status

    Hi
If we are maintaining stocks of different valuation types in a Plant , and the Storage Location in the Plant is Warehouse Managed,  then how can we see the stocks in different valuation types in the Warehouse stock?
    thanks
    Raj

    Hi Keerthan,
It will not be possible to change or add valuation type after the material movement is performed for the material. Only option is to create new materials.
In case if the materials are not involved in any material movement, then you can change valuation type. Best thing will be executing via LSMW.

  • Where i can give material code to valuation type-capital

    Hi gurus,
When i am doing purchase order, error was give valuation type -capital to matreial code,so where i will give, which trasaction code,it is very urgent.

    Hi,
Valuation types relate to split valuation.
We need the exact message text and/or a message number to be able to help.
But until then  do check the material master record accounting view. There should be one for the valuation type that you are trying to use.
Go to MM03 first of all, in the first screen enter the material number, then in the next screen select the accounting view, then in the next screen enter the Plant and the Valuation type (that was being used on the PO, was it something like "capital"?). You will probably find that it does not exist. You may need to create it with MM01 (same entries).
But until we get the full message I can't be sure.

  • Valuation type while creating BOM

    Hello Experts,
My requirement is that, I should be able to select valuation type of material in BOM. Please let me know, if there any setting where I can enter valuation type, while creating BOM.
We have two valuation types for my raw material - Local and Import. When we execute standard cost estimate, system picks up value appearing in material master (without valuation type). This value is average of both the valuation types. So we want that system should pick up valuation type, mentioned in BOM.

    Deepak

    Hello Deepak,
In go to CS01/CS02 select the line item and go to item overview and in that in the customer fields tab you can maintain the valuation type.
If customer field not available then with help of the user exit ''PCSD0002'' you add the customer filed in item.
It's not standard process, you have to do the development
I hope this information helpful to you,

No valuation type exists for material &
    Diagnosis
You are trying to post to material  (). This material is subject to split valuation according to valuation type (valuation type = ). It was not possible to determine a valuation type for the posted operations.
    System Response
The posting will not be accepted as a valuation type can not be found.
    Procedure
Check which valuation type the GR/IR clearing account maintenance should post the balance to. The valuation type must be created before the GR/IR clearing account maintenance posting is made.
    You can either:
*Post the goods receipt with reference to this order, enter the valuation type and then execute the GR/IR clearing account maintenance again.
    or
Reverse the Invoice(s) that have led to this balance in the GR/IR account.*

  • Stock of material and moving average price for each valuation type

    Hi
Is anybody aware of any standard report which will show the stock of material and moving average price of the material for each valuation type.
M5BL is one report but would like to check if there is any other report.
    Regards
    Vaibhav Mahajan

    Hi,
Check MB52, select 'Display batch stock' option.
Batch is nothing but your valuation type.
You can see those details there.

  • Default valuation type when issuing material or Creating Delivery

    Hi,
We have some material manage with valuation type  X,   Y,  Z   while creating PO  we are entering Valuation type in PO as per requiremtn   but i want that  whenever we issue the material  with 201   or creating delivery of that material with VL01N or VL02N  default valuation type should be    'Y'  so how to set this as default.

You will need to create a stock determination strategy and stock determination rule  and assign it to the material master.
    use TCODE : OSPX.

  • Deleated Valuation Type --Need Error Message while creating Purchase Order

    Hi,
In our scenario , i need a message should flash , if enduser by mistake select the deleated valuation type while creating Purchase Order.
In current configuration , it's not there.
    Await your expert opinion.
    Regards
    Shyam Kogta

I investigated this recently in our company and gave this answer:
A deletion flag does not restrict anything. It is just an indicator to tell SAP that you want this record to be deleted with the next archiving run.
The archiving run then checks if a deletion is possible or not.
So you can set such deletion flags long time in advance, even at a moment where you still have inventory.
To block materials from beeing used in business transactions, usually the material and sales status are used. But these statuses can only be set at overall, plant and sales organisation level.
In some transactions SAP issues warning messages if a material has a deletion flag. This messages could be customized to be an error and prevent any business. However, this type of restriction is not designed for our machine, as we use the material and sales status.
Anyhow, there is no message for valuation types that have a deletion flag in procurement area.
There is one for goods receipts (but only for a certain industry solution that is not used by us)
There is one for deliveries ( VL 211 ).
The valuation types are defaulted from customizing to the transaction e.g. purchase order. Or from info record to the PO. So a standard purchase order gets valuation type  ABC , while an internal order (production) gets the DEF.  Usually there should not be a need to change this valuation type manually.
So the only solution is to archive the material master at valuation type level.
But I guess, you already have POs with that wrong valuation type, which means you have to archive the POs first. It you have already batches with wrong valuation type, then thy have to be archived as well before a material can be archived.
And finally if you had stock in current year, then you can archive your material in year after next year, as SAP archives only materials that have no stock in current and previous year.

  • MM - updating Valuation Type in PO History

    Hi,
I have a problem during updating the PO History, related with Valuation Type.
    The process detailed below:
    1-Create PO (ME21N)
    2-Inbound Delivery (VL31N)
3-MIGO in Blocked Stock (Mov. Type 103)
4-MIGO for Release Blocked Stock 105
But the problem is for some materials, the Valuation Type in the PO History is update and for other materials it is not updated. I compared both materials and are identical.
Pls. somebody could give me some explanation?
    Thank you.

Thank you, but I checked both material in the material master accounting view, both material are identical.
When I release blocked stock (103 to 105) one material update the valuation type in PO history at item detail and the other it is not updated.
I can understand, because both material are identical.
    Regards.

  • Valuation type mandatory

    Hi experts,
I have an issue ->while creating STO PO valuation type is mandatory, where as when a std po is created for a vendor for the same material and plant valuation type is not a mandatory filed
I checked in document type field settings but both the doc types have no mandatory flag for valuation type
In MMR the batch management is flagged and valuation category is X
My question is why system asking to enter valuation type in STO PO and not is STD PO
Could some one please the reason behind this.

it depends aon the process design.
In my system, standard POs for split valuated materials will certainly ask for a valuation type, but I dont use X as valuation category
Using X would mean that I need to create my batches before ordering. In my case we just differentiate between own produced and external procured.
So I can default the valuation type from customizing to the PO.
In case of X I would not make this field mandatory for standard POs, when doing the GR SAP can take care about batch creation and valuation type view  creation itself.
It is just for technical reasons, explained in the OSS note, that in case of X and STO you have to have the valuation type in the STO.
