Requesting detailed config and setup for forecast 'period splitting'

I have searched the SAP community, and found little detailed information about configuration and setup for SAP forecast 'period splitting'.
I have selected the standard scenario in the 'Splitting Indicator' (1 - 2 - 4) in MM03/MRP3 for splitting month periods into weeks - AND - I have set the MRP Type found in MM03/MRP1 to 'VV' as specified (with "obligatory forecast indicator set on, which supports forecasts to be used as a basis for MRP).
Doing so has not resulted in my monthly inputted forecasts being split into weeks.
I am thinking that there is some missing configuration that is needed. Please advise if you can.

Now I am more curious than ever. You mention that your forecasts are not generated by SAP, but are generated by an external forecasting program, using requirements type VSF.
This sounds like your interface program is entering Planned Independent Requirements, not forecasts (for VV MRP type, the MRP element for forecast requirements is called "FORERQ" and not "IndReq"). The field to which you refer ("Splitting indicator" in the MRP3 tab) has no impact on Planned Independent Requirements. To my knowledge, it only works with the integrated forecast generation program that is commonly used in VV MRP type.

where are the OSX specific docs for iostream.h, cmath, etc., pls
i have looked in the BSD site, and several Mac docs that come with the xtools package...carbon, darwin, etc...

The best online reference is http://www.cppreference.com/
It doesn't have a lot of detail though. If you want a lot of detail you can consult the C++ standard. Do a search for "iso 14882". You can purchase a PDF copy of the standard for $18. There are also some draft versions available that have some better indexing. Let me know if you are interested and I can post a link to them. They are very detailed, perhaps more than you want.
The best hardcopy book I've found is Nicolai Josuttis' The C++ Standard Library. It is moderately detailed, very easy to understand, and more than $18.

BEx Formula Use of 'Logical And' and Calculation for Gross Margin

HI Bex gurus.
Having an odd time with what should be a simple formula to handle the display of gross margin (GM). The goal here is to display GM% properly and the requirement is as follows
If GM <= 0 then 0.0
Else
If GM > 0 and Sell > 0 then ( ( sell - cost /sell ) * 100 )
Else
If GM >0 and Sell = 0 then 100
I am familiar with bex formulas and have referenced the help docs on booleans here -
Boolean Operators - SAP Business Explorer - SAP Library
But what is odd is that if I use a calculation or a CFK in the IF, THEN with a LOGICAL AND, the formula does not report correctly
If I put in a static value, like 77, the expected logic is followed. I have tried making sure have extra parentheses and changing the order of the statement, to no avail! I could use some extra brains on this puzzling matter, so you help is greatly appreciated and will award points!

Shouldn't you change on of the brackets in your REF GM% ?

Not sure what you mean with those red arrows... but in both cases you would be dividing by 0 (order sell = 0).

Unless you transfer the files from Setup Assistant, Migration Assistant creates a new user with the data.
To transfer the files to your first user, you have to log on this new user, and copy all your files to /Users/Shard folder. This is a folder where you can put the files you want to share between two or more users, and all users can read and write in it.
After copying the files, go to your first user, open /Users/Shared folder, and copy the files to your user folders. If you migrated applications, you must know that they are stored in a common folder (/Applications), so you don't have to transfer them. To open /Users/Shared folder, open Go menu (in the menu bar) > Go to Folder, and type the folder

There is no direct standard report in Asset accounting for your requirement , but you can try the below--
Asset invoice means , if you have acquired your asset through raising a PO , then you have MIRO docnumber which is linked to Asset number, with the help of this FI document linked withh asset number you can find out the invoice documents against assets acquired.
Go to Bseg and search with asset number fields and doc type of MIRO I believe it will be RE ,it will show you the invoice docuemnts against the selected asset , then search for the clearing docs against these invoices in bseg , that will be your payment document.
So now have asset number ,invoice number ,payment doc number.
More logic you may apply like search for the link through MM tables , since PO is also having asset number , just check the link of Asset number with various documents and tables, you may ask your ABAPER to create a report or query for this.

BIG Numbers formula Questions-looking for clarity and direction

Besides a general lack of computer knowledge, here is my problem. I'll try to make it clear and easy to read.
I'm working on a spreadsheet that would organize and keep track of student's choices and payments for a ski retreat. There are 4 checkbox columns for their choices (ticket, ski rental, board rental, tubing). All of these have different costs associated with them, in addition to the basic cost for the retreat.
Using basic arithmetic and an IF formula in the header column I can calculate each student's Total Cost.
=Retreat Cost+(IF(Lift Ticket,TRUE)*50+IF(Ski Rentals,TRUE)*30+(IF(Snowboard Rental,TRUE)*50+(IF(Tubing Tickets,TRUE)*35)))-the (*number is the cost)
This works, although it does return the error that the formula returns a Boolean in place of a number. If there is no easier way to write my formula, how do I turn off that warning-I can't take the glaring reminder of a mistake!
Students need to turn in a deposit, generally set at $50. Using a Deposit column with checkboxes, I worked out how much a student owes after their deposit. Once I check the box, their Balance shows Total Cost minus the general $50.
=Total Cost-(IF(Deposit,TRUE)*50)
Occasionally a student will overpay or underpay their deposit, and right now I'm just going in and manually trying to readjust. I just can't figure out any other option.
I'd like to keep track of how much money is coming in. Currently this is my formula.
=SUM(COUNTIF(Students :: Deposit,TRUE)*50+SUMIF(Students :: Paid,TRUE,Students :: Balance))
My main issue really comes down to the varying deposits. If someone pays $60, I have to check the box, subtract 10 from their balance and add 10 to the student payments. I also wanted the Balance column show "0" once the Paid column was checked, but that was definitely out of my skill set!
Also, I'm going to try to paste a screen shot. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated! I'm new to working with numbers (1 week baby!) and honestly, the vast majority of my knowledge has come from reading the message board, so thanks!

I would change it to somehting more like this...
=Retreat Cost+(IF(Lift Ticket,1,0)*50)+(IF(Ski Rentals,1,0)*30)+(IF(Snowboard Rental,1,0)*50)+(IF(Tubing Tickets,1,0)*35))
(This last part I don't get at all... >-the (*number is the cost))
The form for an if is If(Test,True,False) meaning if the TEST is true then answer whatever replaces the word true in the description. I think you thought you had to type true. Common mistake if you haven't used them before.
Look at one of my If's...
IF(Lift Ticket,1,0)*50
If the lift ticket box is checked, then answer 1 and multiply by 50, if not answer 0 and multiply by 50, taking that cost to zero.
Just repeat for each cost and your done...

Dear All,
I wanted to have a logical explanation for why we use different formula for capacity req calculation and scheduling.
why we need 2 tabs for this in work center.
As per Std SAP formula, except the tick of capacity generation and allowed for scheduling in customizing.. rest is same.
when we level the capacity also ultimately we are scheduling the operation or order.

Raghu,
The amount of capacity consumed is not always the same as the schedule. You have to allow for the times when the formulae are different.
For instance, consider the case when you have multiple capacities, and you practice order splitting. The formula for capacity might be Machine time * operation quantity / base quantity, but the formula for scheduling might be Machine time * operation quantity / base quantity / number of splits.

Numbers for IOS -- How to paste formulas and/or change formatting

I'm a brand new user of Numbers for IOS (version 5.0.1) on my iPhone... It was suggested in the iWork > Numbers forum that I check in one of the IOS forums for help with this version of Numbers, and the iPhone forum has a comment to the effect that there are more IOS Numbers users in the iPad forum.... So here's my question:
I received an email with a cute countdown formula for the new year, =10*9*8+7+6-5+4*321 so I copied it from my email, and pasted it into a cell in Numbers for IOS. I found that it won't paste at all (the black "Paste" symbol doesn't appear) unless I hit the "T" for text mode, so that's what I did, and I pasted it into the cell of a table. But it shows up simply as =10*9*8+7+6-5+4*321, not the value of that expression, which is supposed to be 2012. So I double-clicked a different cell, and selected the = symbol, and then tried to paste the formula into the green bar at the top, but like I said, the only thing that pops up in that mode is the magnifying glass. So I typed the formula in, using the x in place of the asterisks, and it worked just fine. So I can use formulas, and I can paste text into cells, but I just can't paste text into cells and have Numbers interpret the text as a formula. Any hints? Thanks!

This isn't a pro answer but I found if you use the + cursor and select all cells and the set font, color or whatever you want, when you then go to specific cells, it will be the way you want.

One thing you might want to do is restart the computer while holding down the Option key then select the Restore Volume and run Disk Utility and repair the Disk Permissions on the HD. Run DP at least 2x.

Office 365 installed, can't choose Word 2007 as the default program for docx and doc files

I have a client who just installed Office 365 on his Windows 7 PC. He still has Office 2007 installed. He's struggling with the changes in Word 2013 and wants me to uninstall Office 365. I thought I'd just set the default program association for .docx and
.doc programs to Word 2007 but that doesn't seem possible. I can choose Default Programs, Associate a file type etc., and find the .docx extension. The current default is Word (desktop). I highlight the .docx extension and choose Change Program. The older
version of Word isn't listed so I click Browse and find Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\winword.exe. Click OK, OK, OK, etc, but .docx files still open in Word 2013. The Default Program applet evidently sees all versions of Word as the same and refuses
to change the association. How do I accomplish this ridiculously simple task?

Fixed. Used a great little app from NirSoft called
FileTypesMan. The built-in Windows utilities are getting worse by leaps and bounds.

At this time, the JavaDoc for these classes is not available.
As a general rule you will find that the Methods and properties of the underlying oracle.ewt.* classes closely mirror the equivilent java.awt.* classes, so you should be able to gain a bit more information that way.
And yes setDropDownVisible does pop the combo list down, but it's a protected method which might be why you're having problems with it?

I am a new user.
I tried using jdev help to find my answer, but got lost quickly in the zillions of manuals.
1) Where is the manual/doc for the xml task attributes/options for the Ant tags <deploy> and <ojdeploy-build>?
I am modifying an xml script that ojdeploy will call, but do not know what attributes/options are supported for these tags. I need to know whether an option such as failonerror exists, so that I can report a bug that <deploy> does not default to fail on error (or that <ojdeploy-build> ignores the error and continues with the script.
Followup questions:
2) How do I find the java code that implements the tags <deploy> and <ojdeploy-build>?
3) How do I report a bug on the implementation for these tags and propose a fix (assuming I can see the java source code)?

I guess I wasn't clear enough. What I tried to say was:
1) Where is the manual/doc for the xml task attributes/options [I meant to say attributes/elements] for the Ant tags [I meant to say tasks] <deploy> and <ojdeploy-build>?
I did not mean the ojdeploy command, but the Ant tasks <ojdeploy-build> and <deploy>.
The jdev help does not seem to provide the complete list of elements or attributes for these critical Ant tasks, though it has a few examples.
So far, it appears that <deploy> has been misdesigned and I cannot do what I want, which is to "failonerror" (failonerror="true" should be the default but the opposite is true and there is no attribute to change the setting).
You could consider this to be a bad flaw in Ant itself, that you cannot get the exit code from every Ant task (since they are java programs they do have an exit code), so when new tasks are implemented by folks who lack experience they may leave out access to this programming feature that is however implemented for a bunch of important core Ant tasks such as "java" or "exec". It would have been far more useful to make this a generic feature of all Ant tasks. Of course then folks would be asking for stuff like "fail if" or "fail unless" and where would it end? Maybe with a real programming language like TCL but in XML form.
