Max number of Sessions in Dbms_job

Hi All,
In a cursor loop I am calling dbms_job procedure. I am passing store_number as a parameter to another procedure which is associated to the dbms_job procedure..
Totally there are 40 records meaning 40 times dbms_job is called.
I woild like to know how many jobs will be running at the same point of time???
Where can I get the info???
Thanks

thanks a lot...
I got it....
select * from v$parameter where name like '%job%'... The value seems to be 8 meaning 8 jobs processing at the same time.
On top of this 1 question, does this 8 include also the sys jobs, So if already 8 jobs are running and if I submit a job, will it wait for atleast one of the runing jobs to get completed?
Thanks.

  • How do I find the max number of sessions ever recorded?

    Hi,
    I see sessions_highwater column in v$license shows the max number of sessions since the database startup time, but I'm wondering if there is a view that shows the max number of sessions ever recorded? (i.e. before the last database restart)
    Thanks!

    You can check the number of sessions from the below query using hist views. But you can only go back upto  the retention policy setting.
    SELECT   res.snap_id, s.begin_interval_time, s.end_interval_time,
             res.instance_number, res.resource_name, res.current_utilization,
             res.max_utilization
        FROM dba_hist_resource_limit res, dba_hist_snapshot s
       WHERE s.snap_id = res.snap_id AND res.resource_name = 'sessions'
    ORDER BY s.begin_interval_time, res.instance_number

  • How to change the max number of the user session?

    Hello,
      The max number of the user session of my system is 6,I want to change it,how should I do?

    Hi Begue,
    This can be done by changing the value of profile paramter rdisp/max_alt_modes. Currently its value in your system must have been set to 6. You can check the value through transaction RZ11. To change it use transaction RZ10.
    For knowing the details of changing values in RZ11 please visit :

    Please award points if the issue got solved.

  • ACSE - Max. number of simultaneous sessions for a given user?

    Hi,
    I know in the ACSE one can limit the number of simultaneous sessions for a given user; but is there a maximum number of sessions any one user can have open if they aren't specifically limited? (i.e. - Is there anything to prevent one user from having, say 50 sessions open?)
    Thanks,Nick

    Hi Nick,
    ACS only provide authentication (and authorization and accounting) services with various ability like limiting LOGIN sessions to/through a device, controlling what command to execure (tacacs+) and so on.
    However, I don't think ACS has the ability to limit how many sessions can be opened/established from a client to a server or application. This should be controlled by either by the servers or applications.
    A device like firewall (PIX/ASA) can only limit connection to a server, but not from a device.

  • "max number of thread"

    We are running a java web app on a Ubuntu Oracle WebLogic server version 10.3.3.
    The java web app performs long polls with open tcp socket to keep the client connection open. The clients are long polling the WebLogic at 30 seconds.
    Currently we are not able to maintain stability for greater than 24 hours with approximately 200 simultaneous sessions on WebLogic server. Session to me is active client/server tcp connection. We have re-written our application to use continuations, but we are seeing ConcurrentModificationException errors in performance testing.
    Is there any setting in WebLogic for “max number of thread” that can handle?
    Edited by: user9316392 on Jul 8, 2010 11:07 AM

    First, WebLogic since 9.0 has a self-tuning thread pool where WLS will automatically grow and shrink the number of threads based on some internal algorithms. I'm not aware of a hard limit so theoretically there is no max thread count as long as the JVM has memory and WLS thinks more threads will help. You can read up on it here:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/pub/articles/dev2arch/2006/01/workload-management.html
    Practically, I wouldn't expect more than several hundred threads to be helpful.
    As for your situation, how does WLS become unstable? Out of memory, out of file descriptors, errors on new requests, etc. I think you're going to have to use some JVM tools to see what happens to your JVM over time. Is there a memory leak somewhere, is it non-heap memory, etc. JRockit Mission Control is helpful if running on JRockit. If you're on Sun Hotspot, them presumably you can use some of the Hotspot tools. You'll want to compare the state of the JVM towards the beginning of your load test, but after a slight warm-up period with a snapshot after the load test has been running for a long period of time.

  • Max. no. of sessions reached - using ITS on WAS

    Hi All,
    We are facing an issue wherein whenever we try to create a new session in SAP GUI we are getting an error saying
    "Maximum no. of sessions reached"
    We are using ITS on WAS(webgui) i.e.using the WAS URL we are signing in where we can see the SAP Easy Acess screen.Whenever we are giving /ose38 it throws up a popup saying max.no. of sessions reached.
    Can any1 tel me how this can be avoided?
    Is there a ITS parameter through which we can change the max limit of sessions per user? If yes,can you tel me how to do it?
    Also how many sessions can be opened in parallel using SAP logon pad ?? And how many sessions when are we acessing the backend frm the browser window?
    Regards,
    Abhishek

    Abhishek,
    the following parameters (set them with RZ10) should solve your problem:
    rdisp/max_alt_modes             (maximum number of sessions per user)
    login/disable_multi_gui_login   ( enable / disable multi-login)

  • Max.No.of Session Relationship b/w Trigger and Application in UCCX

    Dear All - Can you please explain Maximum Number of session in Trigger and Aapplication and their relationship
    When creating Application, We can define  Maximum Number of session -  maximum amount of simultaneous sessions (instances) that the application can handle.
    Also When creating Trigger, We can define  Maximum Number of session - maximum number of simultaneous calls that this trigger can handle,
    call after this number is exceeded gets the busy tone.
    If we leave Default it will take seesion which is defined in Applciation.
    Suppose if i define 5 Session for Trigger and 10 for Application, As soon as 6th Call hit the Trigger will get Busy Tone since Max session set to 5 for Trigger.
    It means Max.no of seesion is always same for both Trigger and Application / Trigger should have higher session than Application session.
    Can you please explain the scenraio In which Scenrio we actually required them in place.
    SIVANESAN R

    If your trigger has less maximum sessions than the application, you will hear a busy tone. If your trigger has more maximum sessions than your application, then you will "hit" the default script that your application has configure in it. If you have the same maximum sessions for your trigger and your application, then you will hear the busy tone.
    Gabriel.

  • Maximum Number of Sessions per User

    I am using OAM 11.1.1.5.0 running on Solaris 10. When we change the "Maximum Number of Sessions per User" to 1 (per customer requirement), a user is restricted to having one active OAM session at a time (as expected). However, if the user does not explicitly log out (e.g. they just close their browser), they are unable to log back in to OAM until their existing OAM session times-out/expires. Given the above max sessions of 1 requirement, is it possible to config OAM to auto-kill the user's session and create a new one if they attempt to login before their initial OAM session times-out/expires? This was possible in Sun's Access Manager. Is it possible in Oracle's OAM? Thank you in advance for your reply.

  • Maximum number of sessions has already been reached...

    I have a web application which is made up of a servlet and some jsps. I run a test which puts a load on the webserver which sends multiple requests to the webserver so we can monitor the load.
    The problem is, my application is not handling anything gracefully when the webserver reaches it's max # of sessions. I don't want to change the default 1000 sessions, but I want to direct users to a friendly error page if this situation ever occurs.
    This is the beginning of my doGet method:
    public void doGet(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response)
    throws ServletException, IOException {
    try {
    java.sql.Date fromDate = null;
    java.sql.Date toDate = null;
    String storySection = null;
    int history = 0;
    int numberOfRecords = 0;;
    HttpSession session = request.getSession(true);
    System.out.println("Checking if session is null***");
    if(session == null) throw new SQLException("SESSION IS NULL!");
    if(request.isRequestedSessionIdValid() == false) throw new SQLException("SESSION NOT VALID!");
    System.out.println("Session passed fine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!");
    This is the output from iPlanet 4.1SP5 errors log file:

    Hi,
    You can have an application variable that increments by one, when each new session is started. That way you can check whether the total no.of sessions have reached 1000, if yes, u can redirect the user to an error page.
    Please get back to me if u still can't get the problem solved.

  • How to limit number of sessions for an Application

    Hi,
    I have an ASO application running on Essbase 7.1.5 version.
    This Essbase cube is widely used by the BO ( business objects ) Web I services for retrieving data in there Dash Boards.
    No I want to restrict number of sessions on this application. We have SERVERTHREADS through which we can set limit on application wise.
    SERVERTHREADS [application] 20;
    When I set this in the Essbase config file on this server and bounce the Essbase services. Will this really help me in limiting the session till 20 for this application . I see we can set minimum 20 and maximum 500 using server threads.
    What will happen to the session which excceds 20. will they be kept in queue ?.
    Pls let me know if this work. Else pls suggest me the best one.
    Some information for you – in the Essbase ->properties->statistics-> I see Ports Available are 65531
    Thanks
    MS

    HI,
    1. SERVERTHREADS does not contain/limit the count of sessions one can have .
    2. Count of ports will help you decide what is the default SERVERTHREAD count , in your case its 20.
    3. the count 20 signifies the number of threads which a transaction can use ( here threads are nothing by the operating system level threads, to do with the processes and processor).
    4. If you have multiple transactions and you want to improve the performance of them ( in case of slow response or so). You can increase the thread count , to make more threads work for your transactions. Again , this does not limit the count of sessions .
    5. I did not understand the obejctive behind limiting the sessions and avoiding users from accessing . I think , this defeats the whole purpose of having cubes then. You have many cubes ,and huge number of users who pull data and essbase and its kernel are capable of handling this . If you still want to restrcit, might as well set their security ( by letting them not to access cubes).
    Hope this adds value

  • Limit the number of session per user in the Wired dot1x environment with ISE 1.2

    Hello,
    I need to check if there is any configuration/workaround to limit the number of sessions/access per user in the Wired dot1x configuration.
    I need to check if this feature is available or not to solve the following scenario:
    I have 2 SW ports configured to use dot1x authentication with ISE 1.2 server.
    If user A connects to the 1st port and authenticated then he will placed on a VLAN based on the authorization profile.
    The case, that I need to deny the same user to connect on a different machine with the same credentials.
    The ISE itself does not have this feature currently,  the only feature available is to limit the number of sessions for the guest user.
    Is there any workaround on the Cisco switches to solve this? Cisco WLC has this feature and for the VPN we can limit the number of sessions also from the ASA itself.
    Thanks.

    limit number of session per user using wired dot1x is not available in 1.3

  • Is there a max number of names that can be put into Contacts

    is there a max number of names that can be put into Contacts and still have the app work well?

    Yes, there is. It's how many contacts your hard drive can take. So you can fill up the entire computer with nothing but contacts until your HDD/Flash has no space left. So if you have 250GB, it'd be less than if you had 500GB and you'd have more on 750GB.
