Max Size of XML documents in OAQ?

We are looking to use the JMS interface to OAQ and would like to enqueue XML documents of anywhere up to 1M byte. Can this be done using OAQ via JMS?
Looking at the Enterprise Manager help for Advanced Queues (Queue Table: General Help) seems to imply that the queue payload is limited to 32K bytes - which is pretty useless for us.
Can anyone clarify this for me?
Thanks
John

Thanks for that.
We are looking to enqueue XML documents for some time (weeks or months). I have used other message queuing systems where the memory footprint was roughly equal to the total size of all messages in queues on that machine. Such a scheme would not make it viable to keep messages in queues for any length of time.
Can you tell me whether Advanced Queues has any of these issues?
To give you some explanation as to why we are doing this, we plan to push XML documents into a queue to be later dequeued by a data warehouse application. When the system goes live, the data warehouse will not yet be built, but will be delivered for the next phase. XML encoded documents will be waiting for some time in a queue, prior to processing by the warehouse. I know I could dequeue the messages from AQ and put them in tables, but I want to avoid this cost, if AQ can have a large number of messages in a queue and that this will not have a memory footprint or performance impact on the system.

John

  • Maximum file size of imported XML document

    Is anyone able to tell me if there is a maximum size for XML files that you can import into a PDF document?? I need to know this as my client has a requirement for a very large data set within an interactive PDF generated using LiveCycle designer.

    Thanks. I have posted this in the LiveCycle designer forum but have had no reply. I have posted instead within this forum as importing an XML document is not specific to LiveCycle Designer and is instead an Acrobat Pro task and therefore question.

  • Dynamic number of xml files with a specified max size

    Hi all,
    I'm using a custom report to generate xml files (via a ST program and a call transformation) containing
    data belonging to is-u invoices (some are much more complex and rich of data than other ones).
    I'm asked to generate the minimun number of xml files, the only limit is their maximum size (40 MB).
    How can I dynamically understand when I need to save an xml file and generate the next one if the
    size is only readable after the transformation,as far as I know?
    Thanks a lot in advance for your ideas.
    Angelo

    My problem is that different users may be loading different files.
    As there may be many simultaneous users and the xml document nodes do not get edited in any way, I only want to have one copy of each file in memory .... hence the application scope.
    If I make the var name fixed then a user loading xml2.xml would overwrite any previous file xml1.xml or whatever.
    I could switch to session scope but that would load possibly hundreds of copies of any given file at any given time and the files are not small :-(

    Hi Charlotte,
    You don't say what your version of Windows you have. Assuming XP, go to Start | Run, type DXDIAG and click OK. Click the Sound tab and run the tests to eliminate a hardware problem first of all. If you don't hear anything, check your cables first of all. Also make sure "Mute" isn't checkmarked in your sound setup. You'll find that in Windows Control Panel.
    Which browser do you use? If you have Firefox 4, sign up to the HTML5 trial @ http://www.youtube.com/html5
    HTML5 is the latest video standard and doesn't require Flash player. Google is in the process of converting all its files to work with the new format. It may solve you problem. If you don't have Firefox 4, you can get it from here: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/fx/
    IE8 doesn't support HTML5.
    To clean out your temp files, go to Start | Run, type: CLEANMGR and click OK. Click OK again to start the utility. Tick all the boxes except "Compress old files" because the latter takes too long, and then click OK. You can run this utility any time you wish by the way.
    The above steps will hopefully fix your problem. If not, post here again please.

    Steven,
    Thanks for you reply. I have verified that I am using the latest version of Oracle XSQL Servlet, version 0.9.8.6 as well as the OCI8 driver. In doing some additional research I found that I was using the JDBC drivers supplied with OAS 4.0.8 and not the Oracle 8.1.5 JDBC drivers. I have switched my classpath to point to the 8.1.5 drivers and I am now encountering the following error:
    ORA-21301: not initialized in object mode
    Is this something I need to do in my Servlet code, or should the XSQL Servlet handle that?
    Thanks for any help that you can provide.

  • How do you include CLOB data in XML document? Is there a size limit?

    Im actually using the Oracle API's to create an XML document as a clob.
    But for the columns that are CLOB columns they just put
    <column>(CLOB)</column> in the document and not the actual CLOB.
    Anybody know the direction I need to resolve this?

    Could you post the code that is causing this?

    1. How should I configure weblogic to solve the problem?
    2. How should I configure the deployment of Apache SOAP to solve the

    One can deduce from the error message that the parser is looking for the
    <?XML...?> portion of the document because that is where the SYSTEM and
    PUBLIC ids are found in the document.

  • Performance issues with FDK in large XML documents

    In my current project with FrameMaker 8 I'm experiencing severe performance issues with some FDK API calls.
    The documents are about 3-8 MBytes in size. Fortmatted they cover 150-250 pages.
    When importing such an XML document I do some extensive "post-processing" using FDK. This processing happens in Sr_EventHandler() during the SR_EVT_END_READER event. I noticed that some FDK functions calls which modify the document's structure, like F_ApiSetAttribute() or F_ApiNewElementInHierarchy(), take several seconds, for the larger documents even minutes, to complete one single function call. I tried to move some of these calls to earlier events, mostly to SR_EVT_END_ELEM. There the calls work without a delay. Unfortunately I can't rewrite the FDK client to move all the calls that are lagging to earlier events.
    Does anybody have a clue why such delays happen, and possibly can make a suggestion, how to solve this issue? Thank you in advance.
    PS: I already thought of splitting such a document in smaller pieces by using the FrameMaker book function. But I don't think, the structure of the documents will permit such an automatic split, and it definitely isn't an option to change the document structure (the project is about migrating documents from Interleaf to XML with the constraint of keeping the document layout identical).

    FP_ApplyFormatRules sounds really good--I'll give it a try on Monday. Wonder how I could miss it, as I already tried FP_Reformatting and FP_Displaying at no avail?! By the way, what is actually meant with FP_Reformatting (when I used it I assumed it would do exactly what FP_ApplyFormatRules sounds to do), or is that one another of Lynne's well-kept secrets?
    Thank's for all the helpful suggestions, guys. On Friday I already had my first improvements in a test version of my client: I did some (not all necessary) structural changes using XSLT pre-processing, and processing went down from 8 hours(!) to 1 hour--Yeappie! I was also playing with the idea of writing a wrapper to F_ApiNewElementInHierarchy() which actually pastes an appropriate element created in a small flow on the reference pages at the intended insertion location. But now, with FP_ApplyFormatRules on the horizon, I'm quite confident to get even the complicated stuff under control, which cannot be handled by the XSLT pre-processing, as it is based on the actual formatting of the document at run-time and cannot be anticipated in pre-processing.

  • Generating an XML Document from an internal table in ABAP

    Good day to all of you;
    With ABAP, in the R/3 system, I'm trying to figure out a way to accomplish the following:
    1) SELECT a set of Purchase Order data into an internal table.
    2) Generate an XML document, containing the above data, using a specific schema.
    I've been playing around with function module SAP_CONVERT_TO_XML_FORMAT which has the following interface:
    CALL FUNCTION 'SAP_CONVERT_TO_XML_FORMAT'
          EXPORTING
          I_FIELD_SEPERATOR    = ''
          I_LINE_HEADER        = ''
            I_FILENAME           = v_fname
          I_APPL_KEEP          = ''
          I_XML_DOC_NAME      = v_docname
          IMPORTING
            PE_BIN_FILESIZE      = v_byte
          TABLES
            I_TAB_SAP_DATA       = i_SapData
          CHANGING
            I_TAB_CONVERTED_DATA = i_XMLData
          EXCEPTIONS
            CONVERSION_FAILED    = 1
            OTHERS               = 2.
    I'm uncertain as to whether or not the Export parameter, I_XML_DOC_NAME refers to some schema or definition and therefore have been excluding it.  In doing so, the generated XML document seems to use the field name/type information from my itab for the tags.
    If this function module requires an XML Document Name, how do I create one and where do I store it in R/3?  If this is not the recommended solution, is anyone familiar with a way to load an XML schema, retrieve some data then have SAP generate an XML document using the schema?
    Many thanks for any help available.

  • Creating an xml document from filenames of selected files

    Hey guys, I am totally new to automator and applescript so please be kind!
    I have an xml/flash image portfolio website which has image galleries. Each gallery has an xml document which specifies a thumbnail and full size photo to be displayed in the gallery. If I want to make a new gallery I have to make a new xml document and enter all the filenames of the images I want to display in the gallery. ( I guess you can see where this is going).
    This is fine if I have 10 images in the gallery but if I want to make a gallery with 350 images in then it could get pretty tedious.
    What I would love to be able to do is select a group of images and then have a script or automator action that can copy the files names and create a new gallery xml document containing the relevant code with all the files names. Ideally then saving the gallery with a sequential filename.
    Tying this into the new contextual services menu in snow leopard would really make the task incredibly easy.
    Is this possible? I'm not scared of learning how to do this therefore some pointers in the right direction would be great.
    Thanks,
    Chris
