I am goint to buy Flex2 14 inch FHD 1920x1080
I have search its maximum LED brightness but I could not find it.
I also have chatted with lenovo customer service, but they do not know it.
Does anybody know the maximum brightness of Flex2 14 inch FHD 1920x1080 ?
Solved!
Go to Solution.

I have already bought flex2 14 inch (1920x1080)..
As I feel, the backlight brightness may be around 200 nit.
However, the worst thing is that.. the display color is somewhat browny...or yellowish...
I have tried to change RGB setting.. but the color is not good..
I have searched color profile files in internet.. but I cannot find anything.
The black color is brown in my flex2 laptop..
I am not suggesting to buy flex2...(Flex2 14 1920x1080 is now around 900 dollars..The price is increased)

  • Set maximum brightness

    Hi All,
Is there a way to set the maximum brightness of my IBM Thinkpad T43 to "5"?
Currently, I can increase it to 7, but then the display turns off.
I want to avoid this by limiting the possible max brightness to 5.
Can I do that with an entry in the registry?
    Regards,
    Alper

Have you looked in your bios settings? I don't have this model, but some had brightness settings.
Sounds like we need ThinkpadGeorge for this question

  • MacBook display resets to maximum brightness

    Hello,
after attaching an external display (Cinema display) to my macbook it automatically resets the LCD display of my MacBook to maximum brightness. After detaching the external display the maximum brightness setting remains on my MacBook.
Does anyone else have this problem? Does anyonoe know how I can preserve the brightness even when attaching an external display?
    Thank you.

    Hi everybody,
has anybody determined a solution for this problem yet? My wife has a MacBook that she uses at her desk with an external display. Every time she plugs or unplugs the external display the brightness of the built-in display reverts to maximum.
It's not really that big of a problem, we discovered that the brightness keys on the notebook itself always adjust the built-in display, even if it's not the primary display. The brightness keys on the external keyboard always adjust the brightness of the primary display (the external monitor in this case).
But non-the-less it's still an irritation. It would be nice if it was fixed.
    Cheers,
    Jens Petersohn

  • Will Life of  eMac's CRT be  Shortened if Used at Maximum Brightness?

I am certain the answer will be "Yes" but I would like to know how much the life-expectancy would be reduced.
As a cautious individual I always leave it in the default centre position.
Has anyone got statistical data (like that produced for "Expected failures of HDs and Chips") rather than just a statement that you have run yours for years at maximum brightness - though that info would also be welcome.
    Ian.

  • W540: Screen always at maximum brightness after instaling update from September 2 2014

After I installed the "Intel Corporation - Graphics Adapter WDDM1.1, Graphical Adapter WDDI1.2, ..." dated September 2 2014 using Windows Update, the screen on my W540 has permanently remained at maximum brightness and reducing/adjustning brightness can neither be done using the keyboard buttons nor the panel under Windows 8.1 Update 1. The only thing I could do was to rollback the driver using the Device Manager, but then Miracast does not work anymore.
Do some of you experience the same problem and have you found a suitable solution for it?

I have encountered this problem as well. First, you have to download the latest Optimus graphics driver. Then go to add/remove programs and remove all nVidia applications and the Intel graphics driver (don't do anything with device manager). Restart the computer, and then install from that file you downloaded. Restart again and it should be working.
You pretty much have to use Lenovo's drivers since you are running optimus. Never manually update either the Intel or nVidia or you will encounter problems like the brightness control.

  • Incomplete use of display area of external 21.5 inch monitor (1920x1080)

Attaching an external monitor (LG E2211S. 1920x1080, 21.5 inch) and adjusting the resolution for this display to 1920 x 1080 while keeping the labtop display in function as well, results in a wide black rim around the desktop area on the external display.
How to use the whole screen area without reducing the display resolution? I am running Win 7, 64
Is the INTEL HD Graphics 3000 to blame?
I update the driver form the toshiba site, trying both version 8.15.10.2353, and .15.10.2509, same unsatisfactory result. There is no way to manually enlarge the display are with buttons, the automatic positioning does not change this situation. The same screen on an older desktop ran well when updating a driver.
When investigating a driver update from the INTEL site a warning appears stating that the manufacturers drive may e=have additional functionality, which should not be replaced.
This should just work, what is wrong?

How to use the whole screen area without reducing the display resolution? I am running Win 7, 64
    What settings did you choose?
    Extended desktop or clone displays?
I use extended desktop and I could set different resolution for internal display and external monitor.
The built in display supports an resolution of 1366x768 and scaling is set to Scale Full Screen.
The external monitor support the resolution of 1920x1080 and scaling is set to Maintain Display Scaling.
    Everything is OK

Whenever I start my computer (MacBook Pro, late 2008) since upgrading to Lion the screen brighness is set to maximum. I have turned off the automatic brightness control in preferences. • Problems with the brightness of my 27" inchs i7 iMac (2009)

The brightness isn't as high as it should, I see the screen fluttering few times to a lower brightness. Usually, when I turn on my computer the bright is ok, but immediately it goes lower and flutter randomly.
Note: I have Windows 7 64bits running on Bootcamp too but uses more frequently Mac Os. Don't know if that matters.

AFAIK, not the new ones (OWC even took their notes re. internal iMac drives off as well as their install instructions) due to some cabling (I believe):

  • Dell vs Asus Laptop Cs6

I posted just the other day about a laptop I was looking at buying to get feedback on it, which I did, so thanks.
Now I found another laptop that I am interested in, below are the computers with the specs and the price. I plan on using the laptop to edit photos and video from a dslr. The programs I use in CS6 are Lightroom, Photoshop, Premier Pro and sometimes After Effects. I’m on the road for work so I want something that can come with me.
Does anyone have any experience or knowledge about these specific computers? What advantages does one computer have over the other? Which computer would you go with? Is the Dell worth the extra money?
Thanks to anyone that can offer their input.

I've been using an Asus G73 JW laptop for 2 years now......only problem has been a noisy GPU fan that MANY purchasers have encountered....I monitor temps and all is OK.
If I were buying new....based on my experience, I would want :
    1.   17.3"  1920x1080 screen ......15" just TOO SMALL to see anything properly !
    2.  FASTEST i7 CPU possible....DSLR footage is MOST difficult to edit natively due to long GOP structure with high compression......you may want to WAIT to see if new "Haswell" i7s coming in June offer even better performance in a laptop than the current versions.....it won't for desktops. CPU speed is KING concerning encoding and decoding.
    3. at least 32GB system memory.....of 1600 speed
    4. Best NVidia mobile graphics card you can get.....that has DDR5 memory, ( NOT DDR3 )....AND with the most Graphics memory available, ( esp. good for After Effects).
    5. minimum  2 internal HDD bays......use Marvell controlled, ( not Sandforce) SSDs here. Although expensive, to take advantage of the SATA III read and write speed, ( 6gb/sec theoretically), you can achieve read AND write speeds on each drive in excess of 500MB/sec. without having to RAID anything! Best suggestion for this type of SSD is : Samsung 840 PRO series, Plextor PRO series, and the cheaper Crucial M4 series. I am using a 512GB M4 as my laptop project drive in my laptop....cost $399. More shock resistant,too....as well as less poer consuming vs. spinning HDDs.
    6. eSATA ext. drive connection.....I have USB 3....had to select checkboxes in Windows device mgr. to get it working properly so it wouldn't "randomly disconnect". I have gotten speeds over 200MB/sec., but, believe eSATA can go faster. I am not aware if Thunderbolt is available on any Windows laptop....if it were....THAT may be the fastest external interface.
    7. at least HDMI out, along with display port, for external monitor,or, HDTV connection. This is important as you may use an HDTV, esp. on the road, as a dedicated timeline ,full-screen monitor....or, to hook up a quality external monitor. I constantly do this.
    8.  Good Luck !!!

  • L540 FHD display quality -when dimmed, and at full brightness?

    I'm decided on the L540 FHD, 1920x1080.
Since the L540 FHD is LED-backlit, and potentially different in TN technology,
I'm wondering how it looks compared to a T500 WSXGA+ CCFL,
and also how well the LED backlit looks when dimmed.
         Currently have a T500 15.4" WSXGA+ 1680x1050 CCFL stock display. 128ppi.
My satisfaction with this display is 8 out of 10.  I regularly dim it to 50% or less at night.
Use is 60% firefox browsing, 30% online videos, 10% movies.
The L540 FHD should be just noticably crisper in terms of ppi (141ppi, vs T500's 128ppi).

Given you can show both these issues I would think there will be no problem getting these fixed.
As for timing, one option you have is to take it to an Apple Authorised Service Centre and have then sight the issues they can order in the parts and then call you in when they have them and can do the repairs. This way you can have you PowerBook actually out of your hands for like 24 hours. This is what I do.

  • 23-inch adjusting brightness question

Is there a way to know when the brightness is turned all the way up or down? Is there a way to visually see the range of levels of brightness on the screen?

    Mark,
    Yes.
    No.
If you press the "increase brightness" button on the left side (facing you) of the display and hold it down, you will get to the maximum brightness very quickly. Just touch the "down" button briefly to drop it down a notch.
There is no brightness indicator on the screen (unlike some other brands of monitors).
Search this forum for "monitor calibration" for more help.

  • 24" iMac Screen Brightness Bug and others

    Hi,
There seems to be some serious issues with the 24" iMac. About 6 days ago I bought a 24" iMac (2.66 Mhz model w/4 GB RAM + 640HD).
Out of the box it had Leopard 10.5.5 installed; there were several problems.
    1. Screen brightness was way too BRIGHT. Display preferences would not pull brightness down. At least not down far enough so that the screen could be viewed without extreme discomfort. Plus add insult to injury a reboot would reset the preferences to maximum brightness. NOTE: An upgrade to 10.6.1 did NOT fix the issue.
    2. Viewing a browser page via either Safari or Firefox (latest versions of each) was not good. A vertical scrolling would be jumpy and appear pixelated. Upgrade to 10.6.1 seemed to fix most of the issue in Safari, but Firefox was still not working properly. The issue appeared like a horizontal "ripple" in about the bottom 2/3 of the browser window. The effect did NOT extend outside of browser window. Changing screen resolutions did not work.
    3. Connecting a USB Logitech head set caused issues with Sound preferences.
If the head set was connected during startup the machine would recognize them as main sound. The internals speakers did NOT appear in the Sound preferences. as an optional choice. Removing USB headset and reboot would return the internal speakers to the Sound preferences. Plugging in headseat would work for a while. We could repeat and same problem would occur.
These are all in 10.6.1 - definate bugs.
Returned with the iMac to the Apple store. Bottom line, after nearly three hours; the Apple technician, and everyone could see what we were talking about.
Regarding the screen brightness. Nothing they could do about it. They stated that "not too many people have complained about it, to their knowledge." They stated that the electronics in the "florescent" panel could not be turned down the same way. TRANSLATION: The programers at Apple let this one slip past them. As a customer (software programmer & network analyst) I expected a bit more of an intelligent answer.
    However.
Examining the 20" model I noticed that we could turn down the screen brightness - at least to a level that my wife and I could live with. PLUS the settings remained after a restart. Something that was NOT happening with the 24" model.
So - we exchanged the 24" for a 20". Frankly we are a LOT happier. The Safari/Firefox issue is still carried over to the 20". However it is not nearly so noticable on the smaller screen.
Plus the USB headset did not cause the same Sound Preference issues.
So - Thanks for the speedy return/exchange of the iMac. But someone needs to look at this from the programming side of things.

HI, in response to 1_pixelperson, we've returned TWO iMacs with 24 inch screens, both so bright our eyes bugged out ... the current 20 inch is our third computer in 8 days ... he reported specifics
We did find a SCREEN DIMMER app <www.adpartnership.net/DarkAdapted/> ... no solution via Apple ... iPhoto migration funky, dates out of sync, not valid, but thankfully Time Machine really works ... Firefox remains wobbly, not smooth ...
Also, be careful when loading pics from phone with Bluetooth, it sucked my entire address book into my phone.
People at Apple store were nice, today's 20 minute scheduled Genius meeting morphed into two hours+ ... including return ... would have preferred 20 inch with larger HD, came with 320 ... they couldn't do, upgraded ram while there.

I use a pair of Dell U2211H monitors, and would suggest anything in the Dell's UltraSharp range. My monitors are 21.5" IPS and cover close to 100% of sRGB. This monitor has display port, VGA, and DVI connections, and a built in 4 port USB 2.0 hub. The current version is the U2212HM is very similar and runs $219. It comes with a 3 year limited warranty and a 0 bright pixel warranty (Premium Panel Guarantee). I choose this panel due to warranty, price, and pixel density (I love dense panels).
If you choose to go larger, the 24" U2410 ($499) has a better gamut, and gives you a 16x10 resolution of 1920 x 1200.
If you want to stay with Lenovo, they offer the 23" IPS LT2323z ($399.99) it comes with 2 microphones and a full HD webcam. It also has 3 USB 3.0 ports and 2 USB 2.0 ports. Gamut is not specified.
