MB keyboard skin for qwerty french canadian

Hello all, as the title says, I am looking for a skin to protect my MB white keyboard. I have a french canadian qwerty keyboard
Anyone know if this available somewhere?
Regards,
floyd

The CSA keyboard layout is not one I'm familiar with (and at 61 yrs old, I don't really want to learn how to type again ) How can that be converted to a .keylayout ?
I would probably use Ukelele to modify the CSA version:

What in CSA needs to be changed? I've done lots of these and could probably make what you need without much work.

There is nothing newer than the July 2011 model. The model released in July 2011 is the current model.

  • Logic Keyboard Skin for MBP 2008

Hi, could anyone please suggest me a good Logic keyboard skin for MacBook Pro Early 2008 (the latest model before unibody).
    I need Logic 9 compatibility.
    Thank you!

I'd contact LogicKeyboard for more help and advice...

Logicskin seem to get pretty good reviews.... but personally because I use custom keyboard setups here, I don't use such things myself

  • Keyboard skin for iMac keyboard with 'L' shaped Return keys -do they exist?

Hi people. Can someone PLEASE tell me where I can find a silicon cover for my European G5 iMac's keyboard. It has a large 'L' shaped Return key and all of the places I've tried (zcover etc) only stock skins for keyboards with thin, American stle Return keys.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I use this cover, the iSkin. The area that covers the return key and the key above is molded L-shaped. It will accommodate a US or Int'l Apple keyboard.

  • [solved] setxkeymap french canadian

    Hi,
    I used to add this:
    Section "InputDevice"
    Identifier "keyboard"
    Driver "kbd"
    Option "XkbLayout" "ca"
    Option "XkbVarian" "fr"
    EndSection
to my xorg.conf to have french canadian keymap.
But things have changed, and now the way to do it is to type:
    setxkeymap ca,fr
The problem is, the new way does not gives the same results. For example, the "è,à" are tied to a single key for the new way, and they were ties to a key combination, wich is the usual way for the french canadian keymap.
How do I set it to use the correct keymap?
    Thanks,
    Daedhel

I retried to "setxkbmap ca -variant fr", and it brings back the keymap with wrong keybindings. I don"t know where to look, should I send a bug report?

Calm down. You don't even know where to look, so how can you send a bug report? Concentrate on finding out how it works instead. Only after you know how it works, you will be able to say if it works, and only then, if it doesn't work as it is supposed to, is when you can write a bug report that is worth the name, because you have to explain exactly what it is that isn't working.
setxkbmap works fine for me. I everytime I start Gnome I have to run it. If you use Gnome, you can put it in System/Preferences/Sessions and it will be executed as it should.

  • IBook keyboard skins?

    Hi,
Does anybody know where I can buy a keyboard skin for an 12" iBook G4?
    Thanks,
    Mike

Most online sources I've just checked (about 20 min via search) appear to say they no longer stock them; yet there are a few with conflicting information, in part perhaps due to how they are listed. An example of a conflict exists in the instance of a link via a yahoo search (I don't usually rely on them) that says I could get an iBook/PowerBook keyboard cover at 'welovemacs.com' yet if I go direct to their own site, they say they don't have them. But I see one here...
This page says they do. The company has an 800# so maybe you could call and ask: http://www.welovemacs.com/xibpbwhtblk.html Some of the resellers online that offer older repaired Macs and parts may have old-stock new from that time frame; ones that specialize in portable Mac repair & parts may be a source.
Back when my iBook G4 12" 1.33GHz mid-2005 model was new, I bought a silicone keyboard protector, a nice soft neo RadTech case that stays on the Book when it is open or closed, a 1G RAM upgrade, and AppleCare. I still have that, it is still in fine shape, but seldom turn it on and it needs a replacement battery to be run very long. The two Apple batteries were hardly used at all (were warranty replacements) and super low cycle counts. If I had money to burn, I'd get a SSD installed and a new cell from OWC. An iBook is hardly worth it, though. I have a few G4 Macs and one first-edition MacBook coreduo... And losing interest in most electronic products... including smartphones, tablets, smart watches, RFID implants, drones...!
You may be able to find a failed computer with the protector included on craigslist or maybe in a pawn shop, etc. Most times the computer may be hardly worth the asking price.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • [SOLVED] French Canadian keyboard strange behaviour

    Hello!
I just upgraded to Gnome 2.30 in [testing] and my keyboard has a strange behaviour. With Gnome 2.28, my keyboard layout was set to Canadian French (legacy), and still is, though some of the keys do not behave the same. For instance, the accents "`", "¸" and ^ do not behave as usual, but rather give me some letter with that accent on it, rather than letting me choose the letter on which put the accent.
Moreover, the SHIFT+3 combination gives me a # instead of a /, but not in all software. Google Chrome has the good behaviour, but gnome-terminal gives me a #.
Do you understand any of this?
I'll post the packages I have upgraded.

    Problem solved!
I remembered I once configured my keyboard with HAL and /etc/hal/fdi/policy/10-keymap.fdi was set to xkb.layout=ca and xkd.variant=fr. I changed the GDM layout to Canada and removed the xkb.variant=fr from the .fdi file and everything was fixed!

  • On my MacBook Pro, why sometime it sees my "azerty" keyboard as a "qwerty" keyboard?

I am french, and i have a trouble with my keyboard.
My MacBook Pro has an"AZERTY" Keyboard. For some apps or online games my keyboard is recognized as an "QWERTY" keyboard.
But the games or apps want me to play on an "AZERTY" keyboard.
    I think i checked everything :
         - Préférence système > Clavier > Méthodes de saisie
         - Préférence système > Langues et régions
    It is so annoying.
So please, help me out Thanks a lot.

  • What is the best keyboard case for the 15" Macbook Pro Retina?

I currently just bought the new 15" Macbook Pro Retina display to replace my old 2007 Macbook 13" however I am reluctant to use it until I find a keyboard cover.  I have read many forums already and tried the Moshi keyboard cover (which didn't fit well at all) however I still cannot decide which keyboard cover to use.  So far I have found two keyboard covers that look O.K. any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated.
Here are the links I have found
    http://www.amazon.com/Kuzy-MacBook-Rubberized-Keyboard-Aluminum/dp/B005G88RC4
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/BLACK-Silicone-Keyboard-Cover-Skin-for-Macbook-Pro-15-wi th-Retina-Display-/190691543540

    You mean a keyboard cover.
    case 2
    noun
a container designed to hold or protect something
    • the outer protective covering of a natural or manufactured object : a seed case.
verb [ trans. ] (usu. be cased)
1 surround in a material or substance : the towers are of steel cased in granite.
    • enclose in a protective container : [as adj. ] ( cased) a cased pair of pistols.

  • Adobe Captivate 7 TTS French Canadian MAN's VOICE

    Hello ALL,
I'm desperated... I've been looking over forums and stuff, on the web, and tested a few things, for more than 2 days now…
    I NEED HELP !
I NEED a TTS French Canadian MAN’s VOICE… working with Captivate 7 [Please notice that the Premium and Chloe voices, from the NeoSpeech pack for Captivate 7, are just very, very, very, fine… but they are women…]
I reapeat myself, but I really NEED A FRENCH MAN’S VOICE !!!! (and if the voice is not Canadian : any kind of French speaking man voices, I insist, will do.
It doesn't bother's me anymore… can be France, Swedish, Morocco, …)
I bought Capitivate 7 to save time and to use the Text-to-Speech functionalities trought the slide's annotations.
My concept is not working at all !!!!!! [construction field teaching]
I work on a Mac with Mountain Lion [OS X 10.8.3] and I’ve already installed before installing Captivate 7, in my operating system :
    • Canadian French Voices, which are : Félix and Julie,
    And
    • France Voices wich are : Audrey, Sebastian, Thomas and Virginie.
And disable Zarvox and all those ****… wich is remaining in Captivate 7 ????
Of course, I tried to put <whatever tags> in, but this is not working anymore in Captivate 7…
The major problem, is that my operating system voices doesn't appear in Captivate 7. Why ?
How can I make them appear ? Or use them ?
Is there's any Adobe stuff, or a third-party, free or not, that I can use for my client’s needs ?
I’ve noticed that Loquendo doesn’t exist anymore … they used to have a lot of differents languages to use with Captivate [they used to have a FRENCH MAN spoken]…
    PLEASE HELP ME !!!!
    Mel

    Thanks,
NeoSpeech seem to work on PC, not on a Mac.
Their Voice Cloud service only offers English voices.
In all the voices NeoSpeech offers, the only  French voice, is Chloe.
Chloe is already installed with the language package for Captivate, and work´s well.
Still can’t find a French MAN spoking voice to integrate directly into Captivate…
Althought I found this (where there is two french man’s voices) : http://www2.research.att.com/~ttsweb/tts/demo.php
But, needs to be generated on the web, then needs to be dowlaoded, then need to be imported into the project, and then must be synchronised into the timeline...
Thanks again and have a nice day
    Mel

  • Is French Canadian Language (FR-CA) Supported?

We can use the portal content translation tool in EP6 to translate texts in languages other than English.  Then we can change personalize portal to set the language to French Canadian (fr-ca).  The problem is, that the portal content translation tool does not have fr-ca in its dropdown.  It does have FR, but not FR-CA.  Hence we cannot translate the text in this language.
This is the documentation I used: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/74/641640b7b6dd5fe10000000a155106/frameset.htm
Can anybody tell me whether fr-ca is supported at all?  If so, how can we translate texts in fr-ca?  Thanks

    Hi,
Although it "appears" as if they have French, French Canadian plus all the different variants of English, unfortunately there is actually only one French, one English (which is US so is wrong ).  The reason that they have put them in there is so that developers can pick up on the language as a parameter and do stuff.
So if you translate it to French, it will work for FR-CA.

  • French Canadian (3F) extended language support  with RFC libraries.

    Hi All,
I have a customer that is using the extended language French Canadian (3F) they have metadata in this language that is different to French (F). There is no language pack for this so I cannot use 3F as the language property when opening a connection to SAP BW via the RFC library (or in the SAP GUI). However BEx Query Analyzer allows the user to logon using the 3F language property and returns the data in that language too . I have searched and everything I can find regarding setting languages/locales requires the 1 character language code which would be F (French) in this case, 3F is internal to SAP. BEx manages this but is there a way to return the 3F version of the data for the user using the RFC library.
    Thank in advance,
    Simon

After opening an SAP Incident it turns out that despite the fact that French Canadian only contains French characters (ie unicode not required), extended language support requires not only Unicode support but also the UTF16 LE code page (4103). So in order to support this the Unicode version of the RFC SDK library is required.
