MBA monitor turns black then returns to normal when I tilt the laptop a certain way

Hi!
Less that 2 months after buying a new macbook air, I started encountering this problem. While working (on a relatively light task - I don't have several applications open, just a few), my MBA screen would suddenly turn black. I noticed one time, the music on my iTunes also stopped playing together with the screen turning black. No, there's no magnet nearby and the laptop was never bumped or dropped. It was super new! And this happens regardless of whether I'm at home or somewhere else like in a mall or cafe.
Three months later, (yes it took me a while because I had to finish a certain project first), I brought it to the apple distributor service center (because it's still under warranty) but it's been more than 7 days now (they promised to give me an update in 7 days), but they still could not give me any report. Could it be a defective unit? I mean, it was less than 2 months old when I started encountering these problems.
Has anyone encountered a similar problem? Do you think I should ask the store I bought it from to replace it? I'm a freelancer and this has terribly affected my work already.

Btw, I'm not sure about the OS I put below. All I know is that it's not upgraded to Mavericks yet.

Normally, an iPhone will remember what you had your volume set to right before you unplugged your headphones last and set the volume back to that when you plug them in again. Do you have a habit of tuning your volume down before unplugging?

    Twice the screen on my MacBook has faded to black for several seconds, then returned to normal. These two occurrences were approximately a week apart, and have never occurred before. I am concerned because I am unsure what would cause this behavior, and I don't want it to worsen.

    This has happened to me as well. This began happening to me about 2 months ago and may occur once or twice a week. Nothing happens or changes, and nothing seems to be wrong other wise. It also sounds like my disc drive tries to eject, but there is no disc. After the screen goes black, it immediately comes back on to exactly where I left it. Any advice?

    Hi, yes preferences sees there is a second display it recognises what make of monitor it is etc but I just get a blank blue screen on the monitor when I change it to the hdmi setting! I have tried with mirroring on and off, rearranging the displays in the preference window and lots of different resolution settings but with no difference.
    An old MacBook connects fine so the monitor and hdmi port must be okay. I'm sure we have used the cable before but it could have been with the previous MacBook Air. The current one I'm using is a mid 2011 version running lion and is (according to software update) all up to date.
    Any thoughts or help would be appreciated!

    During the boot-sequence the screen of my Imac 27" flashes green (once), then returns to normal. This does not happen when I boot my Windows (Bootcamp) partition, so I assume this is some kind of OSX driver error. This started to happen only after I installed the latest patch (10.9.3).     Basically reset the PRAM.
    Worked for me hope it works for you buddy. I did it due what the first link said "might be user abuse to the display". doesn't sound good.

    Have you tried Firefox Safe Mode to see if an Add-on is causing your problem?

    Look at item properties for the .mov and .dv files. What exactly does it say they are? What drive are they playing back from? Make sure the contents of the viewer are set to fit to window in the View popup at the top of the viewer.

    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
