MDX filter multiple attributes with OR

The question is simple. I need a full list of Product (EnglishProductName, EnglishDescription, Class, Color,...) whose EnglishProductName like '%bike' OR EnglishDescription like '%bike%'. The "bike" has to be a parameter. How can I use
MDX to query AdventureWork? I tried using Having, it worked but slow.
 SELECT NON EMPTY { } ON COLUMNS
, [DimProduct].[EnglishDescription].[EnglishDescription].ALLMEMBERS*[DimProduct].[EnglishProductName].[EnglishProductName].ALLMEMBERS
HAVING Instr([DimProduct].[EnglishDescription].currentmember.Properties( 'Member_Caption' ), "bike" )  > 0 OR
 Instr([DimProduct].[EnglishProductName].currentmember.Properties( 'Member_Caption' ), "bike" )  > 0
on rows
FROM [Model]
Any help will be appreciated.

This was beautiful. The key point was how to use the SET in Filter. I rewrote my real query, it's like this:
SELECT{ }
ONCOLUMNS,
[Recipient].[DataSource].[DataSource].
ALLMEMBERS
* [Recipient].[RecipientName].[RecipientName].
ALLMEMBERS
* [Recipient].[RecipientCreationDate].[RecipientCreationDate].
ALLMEMBERS
ONROWS
FROM(
SELECT(
filter(
([Recipient].[RecipientName].[RecipientName].
ALLMEMBERS* [Recipient].[RecipientAlternateName].[RecipientAlternateName].ALLMEMBERS)
,Instr( [Recipient].[RecipientAlternateName].
CURRENTMEMBER.Properties(
'Member_Caption'),
"Roger")  >
0 or
Instr([Recipient].[RecipientAlternateName].
CURRENTMEMBER.Properties(
'Member_Caption'),
"roger")  >
0
ONcolumns
FROM
[EAS Report Model]
It really worked. It took 1 minute and 18 seconds. The entity volume is 3 million. Is there any way can speedup little bit?
Thanks a bunch, Sorna, you are awesome.

    Using the version of XML SQL Utility that comes with the next XSQL Servlet release 0.9.8.6 I did the following:
    create type foo as object (a number);
    create type foolist as table of foo;
    create view fooview
    as select
    cast(multiset(
    select sal from emp where rownum < 2)
    as foolist) list1,

  • Ldapsearch returning multiple attributes with wildcard?

    I'm running DSEE 6.2 and I'm wondering if it's possible to return multiple attributes in an ldapsearch request based on the attribute name.
    For instance, I have corpXattr1, corpXattr2, corpXattr3 in my directory, and I want to return all attributes for a particular user that start with corpX* .
    I haven't found a way of doing this, but maybe somebody can help?

    It is not possible to specify patterns (or wildcards) in the list of attributes that can be returned by the Directory Server.
    This is not part of the LDAPv3 specification.

    Ludovic.

  • How to filter by attributes with type Strings

    The documentation is not really detailed about setting attributes with type Strings. I assume I've to type each string value in a new line in the set attributes dialog box. This works fine and my XML looks like this<br /><br /><para CMS = "prodA prodB"><br /><br />having set the two string values "prodA" and "prodB".<br /><br />But how to filter these attributes? The filter CMS="prodA" shows my paragraph correctly, but CMS="prodB" does not show this paragraph as it should. Filters seem to match only the first of the set of string values.<br /><br />I would like to show this paragraph in two document versions for these two products prodA and prodB.<br /><br />Framemaker 8.0.3<br /><br />Tilman

    Tilman,
    this is something that AFAIK is not supported by FrameMaker's own attribute based filtering.
    But, without changing your documents, if you install the *free* ABCM (Attribute-based condition management) plug-in from weststreet consulting, you will succeed. Be sure to read the tutorial!

    Anyone can help me figure it out?
    Thanks.

    Hi Xiaopapa,
    According to your description, you want to join the results of two MDX queries together, right? Currently, this functionality isn’t supported in Analysis Services MDX. However, there is a workaround for this requirement, for the detail information about
    it, please refer to the link below to see the blog.
    Joining the results of two MDX queries together
    Besides, if you are using SQL Server Reporting Services, you can use Lookup function to join the column in different dataset into one table.

  • SES Filter - Adding Multiple Filters with same custom attribute

    Hi,
    I have added custom search attributes and am able to add a filter to the doOracleSearch method.
    filter[0] = new Filter(new Integer(100), "NUMBER", "equals", 10020);
    Now I have to add another filter for same search attribute with or condition, how can I do that..
    I tried following..
    filter[0] = new Filter(new Integer(100), "NUMBER", "equals",10020);
    filter[1] = new Filter(new Integer(100), "NUMBER", "equals", 10049);
    But how do I specify it is or and the above code is not working.
    Thank you.
    Vasu.

    Here is an example of this using 11g. Note you will need to login programatically if data is secured.
    // Create search service and set SOAP URL
    OracleSearchService searchService = new OracleSearchService();
    searchService.setSoapURL("http://myserver:7777/search/query/OracleSearch");
    // Get data group to search
    DataGroup dataGroup = new DataGroup();
    dataGroup.setGroupName("MyGroup");
    DataGroup[] dataGroups = new DataGroup[1];
    dataGroups[0] = dataGroup;
    // Get list of all attributes to fetch
    Attribute[] attributesAll = searchService.getAllAttributes("en");
    ArrayList<Integer> attributeIds = new ArrayList<Integer>();
    for(Attribute a: attributesAll)
         attributeIds.add(a.getId());
    Integer attributeIdArrayAll[] = new Integer[attributeIds.size()];
    attributeIdArrayAll = attributeIds.toArray(attributeIdArrayAll);
    // Create filters (BE SURE THE FILTER ID IS CORRECT - I do not suggest you hard-code it but rather iterate through list of all attributes above and get ID that way)
    Filter[] myFilters = new Filter[2];
    myFilters[0] = new Filter(124, "Number", "EQUALS", "129224");
    myFilters[1] = new Filter(124, "Number", "EQUALS", "123730");
    // Query (BE SURE TO USE "or" as the operator between filters)
    OracleSearchResult result = searchService.doOracleSearch("", 0, 50, false, false, dataGroups, "en", null, true, "or", myFilters, attributeIdArrayAll);
    // Get count
    int hits = result.getEstimatedHitCount().intValue();
    // Print results
    ResultElement[] resElements = result.getResultElements();
    for(int i = 0; i < resElements.length; i++)
    // Get document
    ResultElement doc = resElements;
    Hope this helps!

  • Security Attributes with Multiple/NULL values

    I have a couple of situations where I can't seem to get the authorization component working as I need it to work for a database source.
    1) In the first case, I have two attributes set for "grant security attributes" in the data source, one of which has a single attribute value, and the other which has multiple values, e.g.
    I want to set "grant security attributes" to something like "client_id role_id" where for my dataset, client_id will always be a single numeric value, but I might have multiple role_ids that can view this record. How do I specify in my data source query those multiple attribute values? I tried separating them with spaces, e.g.
    SELECT ...
    'A B' role_id
    FROM
    where "A" and "B" represent unique values (looking to match A OR B). I also tried delimiting them with commas, but neither spaces nor commas seems to work consistently.
    On the authorization end, using oracle.search.plugin.security.auth.db.DBAuthManager as the authorization plug-in, I have the authorization query set as
    SELECT client_id, security_lvl as role_id from test_user_id where user_id = ?
    Each user may have more than one role, so in the above query, security_lvl could be something like "B C"; I'm assuming from the documentation that the delimiter for attribute values in this case should be a space.
    The crawler logs make it appear that everything is getting indexed, so I suspect the issue is on the authorization front.
    2) In the second case, one of my security attributes for the data source may be NULL, meaning that there's no particular authorization restriction on a particular record, so to use the same example as in #1,
    role_id might be NULL for some records, in which case, I want those records returned in the search if the client_id matches, but I can't get the records with the NULL role_id to be returned at all. Again, the crawler logs indicate that everything is being indexed, and I'm not sure if there's a log where I can further troubleshooting authorization issues.
    Any guidance would be appreciated.
    Thanks

    1) The security attributes are OR'd together so if the user has any ONE of the attributes (either client ID or role ID), the document can be seen by the user. What I would try is to create a view to call rather than directly against the table. The view can then leverage a PL/SQL function and encapsulate the logic behind the security tokens to return.
    So the view would look like this...
    CREATE OR REPLACE VIEW USER_SECURITY_V AS
    SELECT
    USER_T.ID,
    MY_SECURITY_FUNCTION(USER_T.ID) AS AUTH_ID
    FROM
    USER_T
    The PL/SQL function would look something like this...
    CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION MY_SECURITY_FUNCTION(USER_ID NUMBER) RETURN VARCHAR2 IS
    -- Do whatever you need to do to build a single space-deliminted list of tokens for both Client and Role ID "CLIENTID4 ROLEID5 ROLEID9" then return
    END;
    The data source authorization query then would look like this...
    SELECT AUTH_ID FROM USER_SECURITY_V A WHERE A.ID = ?
    Using a PL/SQL Function to control the tokens gives you the flexibility of modifying security without having to touch the data source directly
    2) I don't quite follow. If any ONE of the tokens match, the document is returned. If the role ID is null, you might try stamping each document a "master" security token indicating it's open to everyone such as "ALL". Then in the PL/SQL Function, return "ALL" in front of the actual values.
    The crawler logs will only tell you what is indexed at crawl time, not how searching is actually working. Try checking the server logs. These should be under something like oracle/ses/seshome/search/base_domain/servers/AdminServer/logs
    Hope this helps!

  • Limiting attributes of multiple elements with XML Schema

    I am working with a curriculum development group and we are trying to get all of their content into and XML format so that it can be easily displayed by a browser and parsed by our application. For quiz pages we would like to do something like the following:
    <question>
      <text>Who won superbowl XXXII?</text>
      <answer correct="true">Denver Broncos</answer>
      <answer correct="false">Green Bay Packers</answer>
      <answer correct="false">Dallas Cowboys</answer>
      <answer correct="false">Atlanta Falcons</answer>
    </question>However, I can't find a way to limit it so that only one answer element within a question element can have a correct attribute with the value of true. Is this possible?
    Additionally, if anybody has recommendations for already developed XML based languages for curriculum that they have experience with that would be appreciated.

    well, you create 4 sequences where each sequence has a different team winning, and then choice these 4 sequences together. Admittedly, that would be ugly.

    Hi All,

    then "1and2"
    when  ([DimProduct].[Portfolio].CURRENTMEMBER.MEMBERVALUE="Fungicide"  //Not Working
    and [DimProduct].[Portfolio].CURRENTMEMBER.MEMBERVALUE="Seed"  )
    then "1and3"
    end
    when i compare multiple attribute it is not working.

    Hi manishcal16PPS,
    According to your description, your calculated measure is not working when two when statement together. Right?
    In this scenario, since the conditions in your case when statement are exclusive, you should use OR instead of AND operator.
    when  ([DimProduct].[Portfolio].CURRENTMEMBER.MEMBERVALUE="Fungicide"
    OR
    [DimProduct].[Portfolio].CURRENTMEMBER.MEMBERVALUE="Seed"  )
    then "1and3"

  • Filter the attribute members based on th fact data

    Hi,
    Thanks for reading the post, i have a Q which is related to dimension attributes with MDX only.
    I have a dimension which is a role playing of date, i want to limit the members of the attribute when i pulled it to the filter section, for now it shows me everything that are in the underlying table which it is suppose to, but i have 2 keys out of 100
    that have corresponding data in fact table. when i slice it with that attribute it filters out the rest but i want to get that in the attribute when it is pulled into filter section.
    Is there a way to handle it through MDX, i want to limit the values of a attribute members based on the data in fact table.
    Is their a approach to create a attribute to a existing dimension on the fly using MDX????
    This is what we can do but cannot:
    I can do it by limiting in table in DSV, but as it is a role playing of date there wont be dedicated table for it, and i can't limit in regular date dimension which is out of scope.
    I cannot create security role where this role playing dimension doesn't show up there in the list of dimensions so not working that way.
    Ideas and solutions are much appreciated..
    Guru

    Hi,
    please find the attachment below and all i am looking for is the members in the attribute should be filtered when i pull that attribute as a filter.
    for example:
    if i pull the attribute to the filter section it will show something like this:
    Dimension   Attribute   operator  Filter Expression
    Date           Date          Equal        when i expand  1/1/1900  (no corresponding data in fact)
     1/1/2005 (no corresponding data in fact)
      1/2/2005 (no corresponding data in fact)
      1/3/2005 (no corresponding data in fact)
     12/31/2013 (Has corresponding data in fact)
      1/1/2014 (Has corresponding data in fact)
    Now, my filter should show only 12/31/2013 and 1/1/2014 in the member list when i pull that as above.

  • Error Message in Query Filter on attribute of 0MATERIAL filters charac.

    Hi All,
    i have a query with few variables , i used navigational attributes of 0material......
    I am getting the below Warning Message...  Ineed to supress the below Error Message....
    Please let me know the solution...
    Error Message: Filter on attribute of 0MATERIAL filters charac. values without master data
    Diagnosis
    Currently, it cannot be guaranteed that SIDs and master data exists for all characteristic attributes for the DataStore object to be read.
    There is a restriction on a navigation attribute of the listed characteristic in the query. This filters all characteristic values of the master-data bearing characteristic for which there is not yet master data out of the result.
    For performance reasons, this filtering is unavoidable.
    System Response
    Procedure
    In case of doubt, find other restirctions directly on the characteristic values of the characteristics contained in the DataStore object.
    Procedure for System Administration
      Notification Number DBMAN 345
    Thanks All

    Dear all SAP Gurus,
    we've solved this problem and this is the solution:
    The warning is triggered by the method CL_RSDRV_ODS_QUERY-PROCESS_SFC_WITH_ATR when the BExFlag of the InfoProvider is not set. Using DSOs for direct update there is no change to change the BExFlag. As a result queries based on a DSO for direct update always throw the above mentioned warning when filter-characteristics are attributes.

  • Receiving multiple files with dual extension using file adapter

    Hi,
    The scenario where I am implementing requires multiple files of different names to be picked(ABC.txt) and dropped at destination(ABC.txt.pgp) up by my File Sender and Receiver adapters.  Any idea on about how the configuration for receiving multiple files with dual extension for receiver adapter is to be done?
    Note:- currently, The scenario is working fine without dual extension. i.e Its picking all files which starts with ABC and creating at destination as it is. even I configured as ABC.txt.pgp, but its not creating the second extension.
    Thanks in Advance
    Manmadha

    Hi,
    Try to concatenate '.pgp ' to the source file name to create the target file name for the receiver file adapter, by accessing the Adapter Specific Attributes using Java user defined function. This might work.

  • Multiple facts with shared/non shared dimensions

    Hello All,
    I have a scenario where we are using multiple facts in OBIEE. Fact1(Inventory Onhand) is joined to all shared dimensions, and Fact2( Forecasting Values) is joined to few shared dimesnions so the joins are like:
    Fact1 with Dim1, Dim2, Dim3, Dim4, Dim5, Dim6..
    Fact2 with Dim1,Dim3, Dim5
    I have given the physical joins in the physical layer, later in the logical layer I pulled the fact2 in to to the fact1(multiple LTS) and then set the aggregattion levels for the non conformed dimensions. This was working fine for me but the customer was not happy with this. He doesnt want to have different levels of data in to a single fact.
    What are the allternate possible solutions to implement this in the busines layer?
    Any ideas/inputs are highly appreciated.
    - Abhi

    Hi,
    I have done the same as explained above. But here the issue is we are getting duplicate data.
    For Ex: if i have one common dimmension attribute and two non confirmed dimension attributes with a measure. For non confirmed dimension have different value and for all these values the common dimension attribute is same. Then the common attribute will repeat for all non confirmed dimensions.so, here automatically the Corresponding measures also repeating.
    Common Attr non-Confirm Attr1 non-Cnfirm Attr2 measure
    123 abc xyz 1000
    123 bac yzx 1000
    123 pqr mno 1000
    If you observe the above exapmple the confirm dime attr is same for both non confirm dime attrs, so the measure values also repeating here. If i see the data base i have measure data only for ABC record. For Remaining two records it is 0, but here the value 1000 is showing for remaining two records as well.
    Please let me know if any one face this issue earlier.

  • Triggering Process Definition Tasks Based on Changes to Multiple Attributes

    Hi All,
    I'm in the process of creating a custom GTC connector to provision accounts to an LDAP directory. I've got more than 100 user defined fields with the user object in OIM and about 60 of them will be kept in sync with the user accounts in LDAP. When any of these 60 attributes get updated for a user, I would like OIM to update the attributes for the user in LDAP.
    I know I can add 60 "Change <field name>" tasks to the process definition. However, that would be very inefficient for what I'm trying to do due to the number of attributes I'm dealing with. Often during large reconciliations from the systems of record, multiple attributes will change for each user. So if 20 attributes change for a user in one transaction and I have separate tasks for each attribute, that would result in 20 LDAP updates rather than just one.
    So I'm wondering, is there a way to have one process definition task that will trigger when any of these 60 attributes get updated and include all the attributes and values that got updated in that transaction?
    Thanks

    Thanks for your response.
    I was actually hoping to not have to use a process form to store all the user data for the LDAP provisioning connector. I was hoping to have the "Change" tasks update LDAP directly. The GTC framework seems to want to create a process form to store the target ID, but I would like to avoid storing all the user defined fields there. My reasoning for this is simply to avoid having user data duplicated in another location, which can often lead to sync issues. However, with that being said, if the only way I can gain performance improvements is through storing all the data in the process form, I would be willing to do that. Do you have any suggestions on how I can accomplish the single LDAP modify for multiple attributes without storing all the user defined fields in a process form?
    But in any case, I've attempted your suggestion. I have created a few lookup definitions:
    Code Key | Decode
    USR_LAST_NAME | Change Multiple
    USR_FIRST_NAME | Change Multiple
    USR_LOGIN | Change Multiple
    etc....
    I've then added the "Change Multiple" task to the process definition. That task calls an adapter called adpTESTGTC_GTC. Now if I update last name and first name in the same transaction, I notice that the adpTESTGTC_GTC adapter gets called twice. So it seems like even though there's just one "Change" task, it will still get executed once for each attribute modified. So adpTESTGTC_GTC would essentially be performing the same work for each attribute (that is getting all the user data and updating the process form). Since both LDAP and the Oracle Database are external to the application server, I'm guessing X LDAP modifies is just as bad for performance as X updates to the process form, where X is the number of attributes being updated in the transaction.
    kevin.pinsky wrote:
    When the update completes, if any of the fields change, it will trigger your "Updated" task on your form for that field.I'm also not sure I understand your last sentence. Are you suggesting that I have one "Updated" task for each attribute that's being sync'ed with LDAP? If that's the case, then I'm still doing multiple LDAP modifies for one transaction, right? In the end, my goal is for a reconciliation process that updates up to 60 attributes for a user to just make one LDAP modify with the up to 60 attributes being updated rather than having a separate LDAP modify for each attribute. So if a reconciliation process updates 20 attributes for a user in OIM, I would like a single LDAP modify to update the 20 attributes for the user in LDAP rather than having 20 LDAP modifies that each update one attribute.
    Thanks for your help. I would appreciate any further comments or suggestions.
