Measuring point reading conversion from FLTP to Decimal

Hi Friends,
I want to create view for measuring document (Plant Maintenance). In view I want to select following fields.
Counter Reading
Measurement Reading/Total Counter Reading
Counter Reading Difference
All above columns have data type FLTP where as I want to convert it into decimal and want to show using view.
Kindly suggest...

  • Conversion from Binary to decimal - Need help

    Hi guys,
    I am new here and learnt some very basic Java before. I have a program that is in C++(to convert a binary number to decimal) that I found in the internet that interest me a lot. I am thinking whether this can be re-write in Java. I have tried to searh for solution but to no avail. I am wondering whether you guys can suggest a solution to this. Below are the source code in C++ :
    #include <iostream.h>
    #include <stdlib.h>
    int main()
    // part 1 : declaration
    int Bin, Dec, TempBin;
    int div;
    char valid, again;
    do {
    // part 2 : Repeat asking the value of the binary number
    Bin = TempBin = 0;
    do {
    cout << "Please input a binary number (1 to 10 bits) : ";
    cin >> Bin;
    TempBin = Bin;
    do {
    if ((TempBin % 10)==0 || (TempBin % 10)==1) // Note (1)
    valid='Y';
    else {
    cout << "Invalid pattern! use 0's and 1's only\n\n";
    valid='N';
    break;
    TempBin = (TempBin/10);
    } while (TempBin>0);
    } while (valid=='N');
    // part 3 : Convertion
    div = 1;
    Dec = 0;
    TempBin = Bin;
    do {
    Dec += (TempBin % 10)*div; // Note (2)
    div *= 2;
    TempBin = (TempBin/10);
    } while (TempBin>0);
    cout << "\nThe binary pattern " << Bin << " is equal to "
    << Dec << " in decimal pattern.\n" << endl;
    // part 4 : try another number ?
    cout << "\aTry another number (Y/N) : ";
    cin >> again;
    cout << "\n";
    } while (again=='Y' || again=='y');
    cout << "\n" << endl;
    system("PAUSE");
    return 0;
    Appreciate your help. Thank you.

    So for Java, in your example, it takes a Java
    String like "1001" and converts it to an int whose
    value is one thousand and one. Can suggest a code for
    this that takes user input str and convert to bin int.
    I read books and noticed they are various ways to do
    that. I am quite confused actually. It is like there
    is no fix way to do that, unlike C++ which is more
    easier to understand(in my opinion). Probably, because
    I knew C better than Java.
    The 'standard' way to take a String and convert it to an int...
    int TempBin=Integer.parseInt(your_string);
    You seem to be saying that you do not want to use the standard method, so you should not complain that there is no standard method. Here's some code that re-uses most of your modulo 10.
    import java.io.*;
    public class Test {
         public static void main(String []args) throws IOException {
              BufferedReader bf=new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(System.in));
              String result=null;
              while(true) {
                   String input=bf.readLine().trim();
                   try {
                        long v=Long.parseLong(input);
                        result=toBin(v);
                        System.out.println(result);
                   } catch(NumberFormatException e) {
                             System.out.println("Only enter 1 or 0, nothing else!");
                   System.out.println();
           public static String toBin(long btemp) {
              long temp=btemp;
              do {
                   if ((temp % 10)!=0 && (temp % 10)!=1) {
                        System.out.println("Invalid pattern! use 0's and 1's only\n\n");
                        return null;
                   temp = (temp/10);
              } while (temp>0);
              // part 3 : Convertion
              int div = 1;
              int Dec = 0;
              long TempBin = btemp;
              do {
                   Dec += (TempBin % 10)*div; // Note (2)
                   div *= 2;
                   TempBin = (TempBin/10);
              } while (TempBin>0);
              return ""+Dec;

  • How to  make Measuring Point Description Field scrollable on the Detail Read Screen

    In the Measuring Point Read Detail Screen (Rounds Manager), the description field does not have a scroll bar like it does on the Point Read Counter Detail Screen.  This means that the end-user has to arrow-over to the right on the handheld device to see the entire description.  We changed the transaction property to be the same as that on the measuring point field on the Counter screen but that did not resolve the issue.  We are assuming that the field width is defined in columns but are not sure if columns is the same as pixels.  It seems like there is some type of behind the sceens calculation based on the number of pixels used by the characters in the description.  The transaction property does have word wrap activated but it seems to make no difference. Does anyone have any suggestions on what can be done to make the measuring point description have a scrollbar and have the description wrap?  The Rounds Server is version 2.3.

  • Measuring Point Counter Overflow reading

    Dear Masters,
    I want to know whether there is any standard method by which i can create a notification in the system whenever any measuring point reading reaches its counter overflow reading?
    Can I do the same with the range valued measuring points? That if the measuring point reading is out of the range defined in a measuring point, it should create a notification

  • Measuring point update by production order confirmation

    Hi friends,
    I created a prt as equipment and assigned it to the routing. I created a production order and when i confirm the same i am getting following error as:
    Document MeasUnit has a different dimension to the characteristic unit
    Message no. IR071
    Diagnosis
    The measurement unit on creation of the measurement document must have the same dimension as the measurement unit of the characteristic of the measuring point.
    In this case, the measurement unit % does not suit the character unit EA of the measuring point 103.

    Please suggest the solution.

    Hello Sir(s)
    i have gone through entire post for the subject related to measuring point auto update from production order confirmation.  I have tried the same but i dont know what i am missing.
    if i put some value like 1 or 2 and appropriate UOM then only my measuring document is being updated with the same value not with the actual confirmed quantity..  i have already maintained standard formulla in prt view.
    my basic requirement is to get actual value of produced quanity as counter update. means if 20 pieces have been produced and confirmed in co11n, then counter must bhe updated with the value of confirmed quantity.
    please advice what value should i put as usage in routing master to get actuall counter update.
    Will Highly appreciate your quick reply.

    Hi Satish,
    Yes, it is possible to generate a maintenance notification if the measuring point reading is not as per standards or target value. You require a user exit IMRC0001 to IMRC0005. Also read documentation for these user exits in tcode SMOD.

  • Issue with fixed point number output from 9219 module for full bridge measurement (cRIO/FPGA)

    Hi,
    I have a question regarding the fixed point output acquired from a 9219 module (in FPGA on a cRIO) when setup to acquire a strain measurement (full bridge).
    Software: Labview 2009
    Hardware: cRIO-9012 (NI-RIO 3.2.1), NI-9219 module
    The 9219 module is configured in the project as follow:
    Ch0: Full-Bridge +/- 7.8mV/V
    Ch1: Voltage +/- 4V
    Ch2: Voltage +/- 15V
    Ch3: Voltage +/- 60V
    The calibration mode is 'Calibrated' so the FPGA outputs fixed point numbers.
    My issue is that the precision of the fixed point number for Ch0 (strain) is "(fixed point <+/-32,-1>[-2.5e1,2.5e1]:1.16e-10)", which indicates that the fixed point number is a value between +/- 0.25 and not the +7.8mV/V as I expected?
    The fixed point number does not change in precision whether the range for the strain measurement is set at +/- 7.8mV/V or +/-64mV/V (the two available options).
    As the fixed point number doesn't change precision I'm assuming that changing the range of the strain measurement changes the resolution of the acquired number? And as such I will need to perform additional scaling on the fixed point number to convert it to the expected range?
    There is no mention of scaling of the voltage or strain measurements mentioned in any documentation or examples, with the only scaling example provided for the thermocouple measurements.
    Any help/clarification is much appreciated.
    Regards,
    Mike

    Hello Mike,
    Hopefully I can help clarify some of the behavior you are seeing.
    For calibrated values on the FPGA VI, the returned data is a Voltage measurement, not a directly calculated strain value. Based on the specified ranges for the 9219 in a Full bridge configuration, 250 mV will encompass all possible input values, at the module provided excitation (2-2.7V dependent on the sensor gage resistance).
    The fixed point number does not change in precision whether the range for the strain measurement is set at +/- 7.8mV/V or +/-64mV/V (the two available options).
    As you may notice from the fix-point definition, the fixed point data contains 32-bit precision which is larger than the acquired precision of 24-bits provided by the 9219. The fixed point data-type is coded to accept input encompassing both the range and precision of the instrument; such that, no additional coercion of the input data values is required based on user-defined software settings, i.e. the bridge sensitivities +/- 7.8mV/V or +/-64mV/V.
    As the fixed point number doesn't change precision I'm assuming that changing the range of the strain measurement changes the resolution of the acquired number? And as such I will need to perform additional scaling on the fixed point number to convert it to the expected range?
    The documentation does not clearly define that by varying the discrete levels of strain input (+/- 7.8mV/V or +/-64mV/V) the range of the ADC on the module is also adjusted. I am working to follow up further on this topic, to provide a clarification on the module documentation. As for scaling, the voltage values acquired regardless of the ADC resolution will still be related strain via the bridge sensitivity. The resolution of the ADC will simply define the smallest measurable change in the strain value.
    There is no mention of scaling of the voltage or strain measurements mentioned in any documentation or examples, with the only scaling example provided for the thermocouple measurements.
    For converting the acquired voltage values to a strain measurement, I would recommend the documentation linked here for a detailed explanation on strain calculation. Often, users will forward the acquired voltage data as fixed point values through a DMA FIFO to the RT controller on the Compact RIO; such that, they may handle conversion from voltage to strain using floating point math in real-time.
    I hopes these responses provided a bit of clarity. I will continue to work to provide additional information on the 9219 specification information. Please post back any further questions.
    Cheers!

  • Functional module to Copy measurement points from one equipment to another

    HI,
    Please give some body function module to Copy measurement points from one equipment to another which is not assign to functional location.

    To Copy Measuring Points from one equipment to another , Go to transaction IE10 and copy all the relevant data that need to be copied Check the measuring point check box, it would copy the characteristic for measuring point to the newly created equipment and would create a system generated number for the measuring point. Both the measuring points would have the same characteristics and if they are attached to each other in a hierarchy then the measurement document readings could also be transferred from one measuring point to another.. You could use the following Function Module "EQUIPMENT_COPY" to copy the measuring point from one equipment to another if equipment has already been created.
    Regards...
