Measuring with both channels of virtual bench simultaneously in labview, error 375903

Hi, I am trying to perform two measurements simultanously using both channels of the Virtual Bench's analog input. I have selected MSO channel 1 and 2 for the measurements yet I am getting error 375903 returned evewry time saying the resource requested is reserved. I am not running any other software that should be using the virtual bench. The error occurs when I am initializing the session, before a measurement has even been made. Can someone tell me how to call each channel so that I am not getting this resource reservation conflict?
I have included the VI and a screenshot of the error.
Thanks!

The MSO only supports a single instrument session, and your VI uses two. To use both channels, remove the second MSO session and specify both channels in the MSO Configure Analog Channel.vi
Here is an example that uses both scope channels:

  • Video playback very slow/failing with both iGPU and dGPU enabled simultaneously

Until a couple of months ago, my PC was running with an i5 760 and my current Radeon HD 7850 on Premiere Elements 11 just fine - playback was smooth and I could edit my videos just fine.
However, recently I installed a new CPU and motherboard - an i7 4770K. The key feature here is that it has an integrated GPU (hence referred to as "iGPU") which can run in tandem with my current dGPU (discrete GPU, the HD 7850) by having encoding jobs such as rendering videos and transcoding sent to the iGPU in a feature called Quick Sync. In order to utilise this, I had to bind a virtual monitor to my motherboard's VGA port (as according to this post made by vaesauce on the OBS forums), and for all related applications it worked perfectly (HandBrake transcodes really quickly, and I can stream with OBS with negligible performance overhead). Except one - Premiere Elements 11.
When I booted up Premiere Elements 11 to edit a short clip yesterday, I was greeted with a screen that informed me I had incompatible drivers. I went and checked my video drivers for both of my GPUs - both up to date - reinstalled them and rebooted. Tried once again, same issue. Going on to try and edit just resulted in audio playback, and a complete failure of video playback. I found the solution was to disable my iGPU in device manager, then it works fine.
Now, here is my question - how can I have both the dGPU and iGPU enabled and still be able to edit videos with Premiere Elements 11? While it does work in this fashion, the constant going into device manager before and after editing a video is very annoying (also, I'm sure PrEl 11 could itself benefit from the QuickSync!)

Don't disable the Intel GPU. Causes more problems then it fixes. Here's your solution believe it or not. Go to download.com and find the K-Lite Codec Pack_Full and install. It seems that the new updates have been messing peoples system's ability to read Codecs. This fixed my problem and I've been searching all day every day for over a week now.

  • Working with BOTH channels of a stereo file INDIVIDUALLY?

Most of the content I use are interleaved stereo files. The sample editor displays both the right and the left channel of stereo files but my question is: How can we actually work with either the left or the right channel. It's great that I can see both in the sample editor but is there anything I can do in Logic to separate an interleaved file into two channels?
    Thanks!

bounce it out or copy/convert from the audio bin, as a split stereo file. rename as Left and Right rather than .L and .R - then reimport as two mono wavs

  • Multi trigger measurements with a keithley 2100

    Hi all,
I am using a Keithley 2100 DMM to measure voltages through an USB bus. I am using an agilent multiplexer to route different chanels to be measured by the 2100. A labview software control the two instruments.
If I use a labview  “read single” KE2100 function between each switch of the agilent the program works well. The problem is I would like my measurement to be done faster. So I am trying to store the measurements in the buffer and collect all the data at the end. It goes like this:
          Configure the trigger
(sample count=1 , trigger count X, trigger source: bus)
    2.       Initiate the trigger (VISA INIT)
    3.       Trig the measurement with “*TRG” X time in a for loop
    4.       Fetch the data
For some reason I cannot collect these data, I just get one or sometimes two measurements
Does anyone know what the problem is? Many thanks for your help !
PS: enclosed a simple labview version of what I would like to do

    Hello Melanie,
I discussed with them indeed and it seems it is not possible to trig from the bus in case you just have a USB bus and not a GPIB one. Therefore I will try  to trig the DMM measurement with the "channel closed output" from the MUX and see if it can work like that.

  • Can I use virtual bench to measure/communicate with other device by I2C etc?

    Hi,
Can I use vitrual bench to measure I2C/SPI/CAN by digital I/O or logic analyzer?
And is it possible using digital I/O to communicate with other device by I2C etc?
    Thanks,

You might be able to get it to work (not sure how fast the DIO on the Virtual Bench can go), but for I2C, I would recommend using something that is actually meant for it, like the USB-8451 or USB-8452.

  • Can I playback in both channels with my audio interface?

From what I've found so far I'm afraid the answer is already "no" but I have to ask for myself.
When I record into QuickTime movie (not Pro) using my Alesis IO|14 Firewire interface, it only plays back on the left channel.
Is there ANY way to get it to play back on both channels?  (Or is this a sneaky way of urging us to upgrade to QT Pro?)
I'm assuming the audio quality of my M-Audio Nova condenser mic is better than my iMac's built-in mic, which is why I'd really like to do this.  I don't even need true stereo, just both channels playing back.
    (QT 10.1, on Lion)
    Thanks.

The mic and interface record just fine into GarageBand, either as stereo or mono, and plays back out of both channels with the same setup, so I think the problem is with QT.
I don't find any kind of switch like that in the Hardware Direct Monitoring software for the Alesis, but I'll investigate further.
As I mentioned, I've searched this and other forums and it seems like this is just how QT is set up. But I was hoping for some sort of solution.
As previously indicated, I am not familiar with your IO device, so let me ask a few questions here.
    1) Is the Nova mic you mentioned mono or stereo?
    2) If mono, are you using two of them?
    3) If mono and you are not using a pair of mics, does the input interface hardware have the ability to blend left and right (mic 1 and mic 2) input channels?
    4) If mono, you are not using a pair of mics, and the device has no ability to blend left and right channels, are you you using an adapter cable to input a split signal to both input channels of the device?
If you are using a mono mic to input a signal to only one channel of the input device and are not/cannot blend this signal to both channels before output via the Firewire cable, then its sounds like your system is working normally and correctly. Basically, the Firewire audio is sent to the QT app as received from the Firewire device and recorded as is in stereo. I.e., if the left channel is active with the mic signal and the right channel is empty, then the audio is recorded only to the left channel and the right channel records the "nil" signal/nothing. On the other hand, GarageBand is an audio editor designed specifically to blend, pan, duck, filter, and/or otherwise taylor audio content as desired by the user. (I.e., which includes the ability to re-channel a single mono audio channel to both channels of a stereo track during the recording process which the QT app can't do.) In short, both apps are doing what they are designed to do as they were designed to do it. As such and as previously noted you have three basic options here.
    1) You force the IO device to send stereo or two-channel mono audio to your Mac by using two separate mics, use a single stereo mic with dual channel audio output, using an adapter cable to split the single mono mic audio output line into two separate lines to be plugged into both channels of your IO device, or you can apply/blend the active channel to left and right Firewire output channels within the device if it has this capability.
    2) You can use GarageBand to do create and export audio recordings instead of the QT app, or
    3) You can purchase QT 7 Pro in order to fix your left channel problem post recording by simply applying the left channel audio to both left and right channels within the audio track so it will play as you want in any media player on your computer.
(Actually, there is a fourth option if you are using an external amplifier for playback, which is to simply use the output amplifier to accomplish re-channelization during playback rather than actually fixing the media file with QT 7 Pro.)

  • Tektronix AFG 3022: How to use both channel with VISA

    Hi all!
I am trying to control the AFG with LabView using the NI VISA driver. There are several given VIs I can use, but I don´t know how to use both channels at the same time correctly. I attached a VI I made.
    Problems are:
-Sometimes it works, sometimes random errors occur.
-The waveform generation doesn´t start at the same time.
-To stop the waveform generation I used the "initialize VI" because I found no better one. Else the generation goes on and on, even though the task was terminated in LabView.
-How can I trigger the AFG with my NI 6259 in LabView?
I hope someone has some good ideas helping me out...
    Best regards

    Hi Benjamin,
thanks for the replay. You helped me out very good! I had the Visa driver. I downloaded the driver in your link and it´s way better (more functionality) than the one I used. I now have a configuration, which is working. But there are two things I still doen´t know:
    - How can I put out a trigger signal on the NI 6259. Am I doing this over the normal daqmx VIs? (I, by now, didn´t have the time to try it myself, maybe someone can give me a hint. Saves time...)
    - I want to create two signals on the AFG that are the same, but one is inverted. At the AFG it is no problem (output menu-> invert on/off). This function doesn´t seem to be available in the driver. Is there a possibilty to modify the driver and create a VI with that functionality? Can anyone do this for me or explain to me what I need to do it myself and how to do it?
    Best regards

  • Importing a Skype recording into iMovie with BOTH audio channels intact

Today I bought Call Recorder from ecamm; this is software designed to record video and/or audio from Skype conversations.  Today I successfully recorded a Skype phone call, resulting in a .MOV file that contained both people in the conversation.  But when I export this file into iMovie, I get only one voice!
I've converted the .MOV file to MP3, Apple Lossless, and m4a formats, but I still get only the person on the other end of the line, without my voice included in the file.
How can I export the file into iMovie so that BOTH channels are retained?
    Thank you!

Lennart usually quotes Fred Shippey on this:
If it's an AVCHD hard disc camcorder, try using Voltaic for converting to DV format. (..I haven't tried that - I don't have a hard disc camcorder - so I don't know how easy or not it is..)
For other kinds of non-tape camcorder, e.g; miniDVD, hard disc, memory chip, the usual means is to use MPEG Streamclip (..which is a free download..) and you'll also need Apple's MPEG-2 Component, which is a $19.99 download from Apple.
In both cases, convert to .dv.
Oooh, sorry Lennart; I didn't see you there!

  • Can I measure 2 differential channels on a single SCC-SG24?

I am trying to use a single SCC-SG24 module to excite and measure the
output of 2 pressure transducers.  The module is installed in the
ACh2 position of an SC-2345 carrier. When I configure the module
through 'custom voltage with excitation' in MAX, I can set the terminal
configuration of ai2 to differential. However, the other channel of the
module, ai10, can only be set to RSE or NRSE; the other options are
greyed out. I want both channels to be set to differential. Can I
configure the SCC-SG24 to measure 2 differential channels on a single
    SCC-SG24? Thanks.

    Hi,
I did a little looking into the DataSheet
for SCC Modules, and I found the following schematic.
As you can see there 2 instrumentation amplifiers that make it to where your measurements
are really differential, and then mapped to the NRSE lines in the
SC-2345.  If you were to set up the DAQ board for differential it would
simply read the difference between one pressure transducer and the next.
Long story short, you set up the DAQ board for NRSE for all of the channels,
the SCC-SG24 makes it to where you are really taking a differential
measurement.  Everything works quite simply in the end.

  • Agilent E364XA IVI driver does not support measurement of 2nd channel?

    Hi,
just downloaded the IVI driver for Agilent programmabel power supplies E364xA. It's supposed to support also the E3646A, a dual power supply. In my case there are two of 'em, connected via GPIB. I've configured 'em in MAX and have set up logical names, driver sessions and hardware assets. The two driver sessions use the hpe364xa as software module, the hpe364xa_32.dll as module path and show a whole bunch of supported devices, amoung of is also mine. I've set up two virtual channel names each for both driver sessions (4 channels over all). I can set the output voltage of both channels properly, but cannot read the voltage back. Get always the voltage level for the 2nd channel of the device. Hav
e tried measuring both or just one channel, it always returns the voltage of ch2, either two times a very narrow level or just one result.
    Any idea?
BTW, this happens both in LabVIEW 7.1 and in TestStand 3.0
    Greetings from Germany!
    Uwe Frenz

    Hi,
the problem is that function does not set active channel. This function measure value from your last configured channel. For example: If you set volatge on channel 2, the measured value should be from this channel, if you set volatge on channel 1 before measurement, measured value should be from channel 1. :-(
I attached fixed source code and DLL. Please try it, and let me know if the problem is fixed. I don't have instrument so I cannot test it. My email is [email protected] . Thanks.
you should copy these files into [IVI] directory. The default path is C:\Program Files\IVI
    hpe364xa_32.dll => [IVI]\bin
    hpe364xa.h => [IVI]\include

  • Sound Power Measurement with 4472

Is onboard DSP a must for any Sound Power Measurement?
I know that NI-Sound Power Plus works only with 455x.
Is it simply because NI has not yet written a software for Sound Power Measurement using 4472 or is it technically NOT possibly to do Sound Power Measurment using 4472?

    1. The 6036E is a "sweet" card for high-speed, high-accuracy DAQ on the PCMCIA bus. Even at 10-times oversampling you can achieve 15-20 kHz of response with nice line resolution in the FFT. My experience with the PCMCIA bus has shown a wild variation in DAQ bandwidth (IBM/Compaq...the PITS -- Dell...the best ; and , no I do not work for Dell). For signal conditioning, I use SCXI (so I can not comment on the use of the other components). If you can live with interchannel skew, the set up looks quite promising. Our DAQ requirements demand the use of simultaneous sample-and-hold (SCXI 1140) for either two-channel hot-film measurements or multiple sound pressure measurements with precise cross-correlation (to eliminate wave reflections and e
chos within the test article). Our microphones were developed by NASA for use in VERY HIGH temperature environments, so our signal conditioning ahead of the 1140 is made from custom devices.
    2. It is important to note that any toolkit add-on to LabVIEW "could" be written by the end user using the very same subVIs distributed with the Full Development System. Sound power is merely a term used to describe a particular mathematical method involved in transforming the acquired sound data from the real domain to the frequency domain. The mathematical methods have been used for many decades. I use my own custom code originally developed in FORTRAN, converted to C++, and now embedded in a code interface node (CIN). The issue to resolve comes down to a) do you have the in-house capability to write and support detailed code development, or, b) do you purchase the toolkits and thereby achieve the capability very quickly. Although the toolkits are expensive, the burdened cost of, say, 1
additional highly-skilled employee could cost 20 times as much.

  • Extreme using BOTH channel 1

For many years I have been using my old reliable Snow Saucer base station, with my "Network" on channel 9.
I liked the fact that the Snow had one utility app for getting into the base station itself, and a different app for configuring the network itself.
Is there an app other the Airport Utility 5.6.1 for seeing details about the base station?  For instance, I might want to manually  program the MAC numbers of the computers that are allowed to use the base station.
I have just finished configuring a "New Network" using an Airport Extreme.  My laptop is currently reaching the internet using it.
My WiFi sniffer says that it is broadcasting on both Channel 1 and 149.
    1) Why?  Are these the "default" channels for the two different 802.xxx  standards?
    2) How do I determine which channel my laptop is receiving?  There must be an Airport Utility app for that or is it somewhere in the various System Preferences or Configuration panes?
    2) How do I tell the Extreme which channels I desire to use (to avoid channels being used by my neighbors)?
Next step is to re-program the Snow Saucer to into Bridge Mode so that my old computers can use wireless on the "old" 802.xxx channel...

Is there an app other the Airport Utility 5.6.1 for seeing details about the base station?  For instance, I might want to manually  program the MAC numbers of the computers that are allowed to use the base station.
There are currently two versions of the AirPort Utility (for Macs) for the latest versions of the AirPort base stations. Version 6.1, which has an iOS-like interface, and 5.6 which is more full-featured and includes the feature to restrict network clients by their MAC address. For Windows PCs there is version 5.6.1.
My WiFi sniffer says that it is broadcasting on both Channel 1 and 149.
    1) Why?  Are these the "default" channels for the two different 802.xxx  standards?
The newer AirPort base stations are simultaneous dual-band wireless routers. That means that they have two Wi-Fi radios, one on the 2.4 and the other on the 5 GHz radio band. Channels 1-14 are typical for the 2.4 GHz band; higher channels are used on the 5 GHz band. For the AirPorts, the default radio channel on both bands is set to "Automatic." With this setting, the AirPort attempts to find a channel for each band that has the least Wi-Fi interference or competition from other nearby Wi-Fis. Yours, most likely, chose those channels for that reason.
    2) How do I determine which channel my laptop is receiving?  There must be an Airport Utility app for that or is it somewhere in the various System Preferences or Configuration panes?
Right-click or Option-click the AirPort icon in the OS X menu bar. The radio channel that your Mac is connected to will be revealed in the drop-down menu.
    2) How do I tell the Extreme which channels I desire to use (to avoid channels being used by my neighbors)?
The "Automatic" setting does a pretty decent job already for doing this, but if you want to double-check, I would suggest using a utility like iStumbler. It will show you the Wi-Fis operating nearby and their respective signal strength. You will want to look for those with the strongest signal, and then, note which channels they are operating on. You can then elect to change channels to not use the same as theirs.
