Media Server Consuming Memory

My project is forwarding an RTMP stream to an RTMFP (multicast stream) using a server action script. In forwarding this stream, the AMSCore process keeps consuming memory. This consumption of memory requires the system to be rebooted repeated. How can this be prevented?

I did not think I could use the sample multicast application with my
project's software. Instead,  I compared the outbound NetConnection and
NetStream code in the sample application with the outbound NetConnection
and NetStream code in my project's multicast server actionscript. One of
differences I discovered is that my project's application connected to the
rtmfp group with the following call:
nc_connect..connect("rtmfp:");
while the sample called:
nc.connect(resetUriProtocol(streamContext.client.uri, "rtmfp"));
Therefore, in my project's actionscript, I replaced connection to the
"rtmfp:" serverless group with a connection to the application uri:
net_connect.connect("rtmfp://127.0.0.1:" + port + "/" + application.name)
This change fixed the excessive memory consumption. So, why does the
connection to serverless network endpoint consume memory on Windows Server
2008 R2 to the point that all of the virtual memory is used or it crashes
the system?

  • Edge server consuming more memory

    Hi
    We are using flash media server 3.0.1 to do online streaming for more than 1 year. Sometime (once in 2-3 months) edge server consumes more memory. It will be utilizing more than 80% of swap memory.
    I am new to flash and unable to figure out, why this is happening.
    FMS is running on unix box.
    Please any body help me to know why this is happening.
    Thanks in advance,
    Bhaskar

    Hello,
    8 Gb is the strict minimum for solman itself, but your OS needs also at least 2Gb and maybe your DB is running on the same host and consume few Gb also...
    Thus I would say the minimum RAM should be 12 Gb (8 for solman, 2 for Db 2 for OS)

  • What's consuming the app server heap memory?

    Dear all,
    I keep getting the "java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space" error in our environment, I tried to remove the BAM from the Jboss, and the error disappear for some times, but it appear again recently, while we only changed one line of script in one of the form. (i.e. I don't think the error is caused by changing code)
    So, I would like to know where can I find some information about how the memory is consumed in ALC? Because we only have 2 workflow running, although one of them is heavily used.
    Here some information about my environment.
    - ALC 8.2.1 with no sp
    - Using the default Jboss as app server
    - Using the default MySQL as Database
    - Only 2 workflow running
      - While 1 of them have around 4 - 8 request pre week
      - And the others will have around 60 - 80 request pre day (i.e. around 490 pre week)
    Here listed some points I think may affect the memory and I want to know for sure:
    1) Number of variable used in long-live process (i.e. More variable = more Memory used)
    2) Number of operation used in long-live process (i.e. More operation = more memory used)
    3) Number of track record of long-live process (i.e. More track record = more memory used)
    4) Long-lived process vs Short-lived process (i.e. Only long-lived process will keep consume memory because short-lived process will only load on call?)
    5) Number of long-lived process still running (i.e. If we send a assign task to notify the user the workflow have been approved, and the user never dismiss it, it will turn out to consume the app server memory because it is still in the running stage)
    6) Old version of the same long-lived process will use memory even no active workflow? (i.e. Because active long-live process will load up into memory?)
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Bill

    Did you tried to increase your heap size in jboss server . try this  and i think it will  help you in solving this problem .
    if u want  to know how to increase the heap size:
    go to bath of ur JBoss    "D:\Adobe\Adobe LiveCycle ES2\jboss\bin" as example.
    scond find the Run file and  open it in  Text File
    find a line  which is responsible for   heap size ==>>"set JAVA_HEAP_ARGS=-XX:PermSize=128m -XX:MaxPermSize=192m -Xms1024m -Xmx1024m"
    close it and restart the server again and test your problem.
    put ur line to be like what i wrote 1024 means that 1 giga for heap of jboss.
    if the problem still appear for  you then your Memory doesnot of because memory heap size

  • Publishing point is not starting in the windows media server

    In the setup VCS expressway starter pack is used as call controller & the endpoints are registered to it.  TCS is used for recording.  A existing publishing point is used for live streaming using windows media server.  This publishing point is not started when the recording starts for this recording alias.  Windows media server is running locally in the TCS.  I could see the below in the server logs.  Please note that this setup has worked with this configuration for more than a year and it stopped working now.  Your help on this greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

  • Recording sound without Flash Media Server?

    Hello,
    I am totally new to Flash Media Server I need to be able to record sound via a Flash app and save it to a server preferably without the use of a Flash Media Server type setup. There is no requirement for live streaming.
    Is it possible to record the sound and save in memory then pass the data/file as a query parameter to the server?
    I don't even know if I've posted this in the correct place... any help/guidance will be appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    You can use any publisher to publish like FMLE and publish the streams to the application in applications folder suppose application name is sampleApp then create a folder in applications folder of FMS root directory and then keep the below mains.asc file which does the recording of published streams to the sampleApp application.
    //main.asc
    application.onConnect=function(clientObj)
    return true;
    application.onPublish = function(clientObj,streamObj){
      trace("in application publish");
      streamObj.record("record");
    application.onUnpublish = function(clientObj,streamObj){
    trace("on unpublish");
    streamObj.record(false);
    I think this should solve your problem.

    Amit

  • SQL Server 2005 Memory Explosions

    We have the following configuration:
    ESXi 5.1.0 running on three clustered Dell 710 servers
    vCenter Server 5.1.0
    The clustered servers have a total of 88G of RAM
    SQL Server 2005 x86 running on a virtual Server 2008 R2 x64. All databases run fine for several days with memory usage seeming at ~25%. Suddenly, the memory consumption
    shoots up to ~98% and we have to reboot the server. This is based on information from the task manager and the measurements in vSphere Client. I understand that the task manager is not an accurate measurement when AWE is active but that’s the best I’ve got
    at the moment.
    Here's what we've done thus far:
    Looked through the logs on the SQL Server and found the following:
    In the System log, Resource-Exhaustion-Detected appeared at the same time but the highest memory consumption was services.exe at 125MB. Doesn’t seem to be the culprit.
    In the Applications log, started getting MSSQLSERVER errors indicating ‘The Server was unable to load the SSL provider needed to login.’ These errors persisted through the downtime.
    In the SQL Server Log File Viewer, we see the following errors, though I’m not sure that they are at all related:
    A significant part of sql server process memory has been paged out. This may result in a performance degradation. Duration: 0 seconds. Working set (KB): 4464, committed (KB)
    66976, memory utilization: 6%
    (About 4.5 hours later) Warning: the available page file has dropped below 4Mb. It is at this point – seemingly – that the memory usage has jumped up to near 100%.
    The virtual server has 8G of RAM allocated. However, within the vSphere Client, the Memory Granted and the Memory Consumed seem to be at the same value…meaning that
    the consumed value seems to be at 100% under normal operating conditions. Not sure why that is.
    If anyone has any recommendations or areas to look, we would certainly appreciate your assistance! Thanks in advance.
    Tony

    I thank you guys so much for the rapid response! Please forgive the delayed response. All of this is on a DoD network and I cannot post to blogs on government machines. I have to go to a private
    machine. Below is the information you asked for:
    The Max Server Memory is 5.0GB and the Min Server Memory is 0.0GB
    I have PerfMon currently running to try and capture as much information as possible.
    We are getting a few other errors in the SQL Log that has given me some concern:
    Failed Virtual Allocation Bytes: FAIL_VIRTUAL_RESERVE 65536
    Memory Manager  VM Reserverd = 3673288 KB  VM Committed = 55688 KB AWE Allocated = 0 KB  Reserved Memory = 1024
    KB  Reserved Memory In Use = 0 KB
    There is also a series of MEMORYCLERK and CACHESTORE errors following
    The Server was unable to load the SSL provider needed to login. SSL is used…
    o
    I presume that this is due to the lack of memory to process these SSL request.
    There are indeed several Error: 701, Severity: 17, State: 123
    Below is the system information from SQL Server 2005:
    Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio                   9.00.5324.00
    Microsoft Analysis Services Client Tools                       2005.090.5324.00
    Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC)                6.1.7601.17514 (win7sp1_rtm.101119-1850)
    Microsoft MSXML
                3.0 6.0
    Microsoft Internet Explorer
    8.0.7601.17514
    Microsoft .NET Framework
    2.0.50727.5477
    Operating System
                6.1.7601
    I run a query SELECT SERVERPROPERTY(‘edition’); and it shows ‘Standard Edition’ rather than ‘Standard Edition (64-bit).’
    We are using Windows Server 2008 R2. I don’t believe that there was an x86 version released but I could be wrong.
    I’ve actually looked at enabling the LPIM but we are on a domain that we have no control over and there are GPOs that make it very difficult if not impossible to gpedit but that is something
    we can certainly look into with the domain owners if you think it might help.
    I just ran the following script in SQL:
    Exec sp_configure ‘AWE’
    The response is  name – awe enabled, minimum – 0, maximum – 1, config_value – 0, run_value – 0
    There is no third party software on this server.
    The Max Server Memory is set to 5GM
    Again, I do appreciate all of your help. Please let me know if I can provide anything further.

  • SQL Server Max Memory Settings

    Hi,
    I'd like to check if SQL Server will consume memory more than the configured MAX Memory settings? And if so when does SQL consume that and how much would it consume.
    Regards,
    Jay

    Hi,
    I'd like to check if SQL Server will consume memory more than the configured MAX Memory settings? And if so when does SQL consume that and how much would it consume.
    Hi
    Can you please tell us what is version and edition of SQL Server here. If it is 2012 its little difficult to reporduce your scenario where SQL Server 2012 will take more than max server memory setting because lots of features which use to take memory
    outside buffer pool before SQL 2012 are now changed to take memory from buffer pool. Also quite lot depends on whether system is 32 bit or 64 bit
    For SQL Server versions below 2012(not SS2000) you might get lucky with following (taken from
    Here)
    1. COM Objects
    2. SQL Server CLR
    3. Memory allocated by Linked Server OLEDB Providers and third party DLL’s loaded in SQL Server process
    4. Extended Stored Procedures:
    5. Network Packets
    6. Memory consumed by memory managers. If the memory request is greater than 8 KB and needs contiguous allocation.
    7. Backup
    If you heavily use above features you might see SQL Server memory utilization crossing above max server memory setting. Of all above SQLCLR and extended stored procs would be my bet. If you use them heavily you might see what you want to. Extended
    stored proc has performance issues so use it on your own risk. Use below query to check SQL server memory utilization( works from SS 2008 and above)
    select
    (physical_memory_in_use_kb/1024)Memory_usedby_Sqlserver_MB,
    (locked_page_allocations_kb/1024 )Locked_pages_used_Sqlserver_MB,
    (total_virtual_address_space_kb/1024 )Total_VAS_in_MB,
    process_physical_memory_low,
    process_virtual_memory_low
    from sys. dm_os_process_memory

  • DynamicLink Media Server won't let me import video for video frames to layers anymore.

    I am trying to load a video into photoshop cc (trial) via File > Import > Video Frames to Layers. It has worked in the past, but for some reason has seemed to have stopped working. I have uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times, and I've shut down my computer and rebooted it multiple times. I have also looked into the other questions listing "dynamiclink media server" as a problem and have tried to figure out what is wrong, or how to fix it. I have not been able to understand what I should do, so I was hoping someone would know how to help me.
    I have a macbook pro, which is about 2 years old. That's all they've told me to list, so thank you if you're able to help!!!

    Were you able to solve this problem?
    I am experiencing the same on
    Computer Environment:
    MacBook Pro Early 2011
    Graphics  AMD Radeon HD 6490M 256 MB
    Memory  16 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
    SSD with 512GB; about 81GB are still free
    Software:
    Mavericks  OS X 10.9.5
    Adobe Mastercollection CS6 Extended, 64bit.
    Including the Dynamic Link Media Server Update 1.0.1 are all individual apps up to date as of today, March 9 2015.
    Quicktime Player (v.10.3)
    I am also following this discussion Re: trying to import video"Could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document"
    but non of the solutions under the post #4, #17 either did not work or applied to me, because they were suggested for a Windows user.
    Other notes:
    Bridge is not working at all. It launches, but crashes as soon as you see the workspace.
    Hence, Mini Bridge in Photoshop is also crashing.
    I do have all codecs for the videos, that I was trying to open, though.
    It cannot be an issue, that I have not enough RAM.
    After several other problems with After Effects, Premiere Pro and Media Encoder, which remain partly unsolved, this post starts form a fresh installation of the whole Adobe Suite. Even used the Cloud Cleaner Tool beforehand and made sure, all presets are from this CS6 version only.

         I am trying to retouch two video files in Photoshop CS6 Extended for Mac OS X, and I cannot find the dynamic link media server. I never had this problem before. It says a component is missing. I downloaded the update to the server and I even re-installed Photoshop Extended CS6. I have the Master Collection. I also have anti-virus software that I have turned off. It still does not work. Can family filters for my family be the cause of the server not being found? Thanks for the help and I do really appreciate it.

    I am new to Flash Media Server 3, but I have experience with
    Windows Media and Real.
    My issue is simple: I have one application on FMS 3 and I
    want to stream VOD files from a remote storage (NAS to be exact). I
    cannot find proper documentation or forum entries on how to do
    this. I have tried pretty much everything I have seen on forums,
    but no luck.
    Platform: Windows Server 2003, Flash Media Server 3 (not
    interactive)
    NAS: Dell Windows Storage Server 2003.
    I setup a user to run FMS and it worked, I used
    \\IPaddress\share\ to access the content from the NAS, but the
    content never plays. I don't need multiple applications. This
    application will be used only for streaming VOD.
    Also, I read the online documentation that streams are cached
    in local RAM. If I were to be successful in streaming off a NAS,
    what is considered local? The FMS machine or the NAS? I don't want
    my NAS to run out of memory.
    Boy this is difficult to implement. Any help would be highly
    appreciated.
    TIA.
    Shan.

    Adobe Connect server includes its own flash media server. in
    that case;
    There can be some conflicts for port/service registration
    etc.

  • E4200 - Media Server Claim

    This unit works well for a router, but so does the E3200. The E4200 is claimed, by Cisco, to be capable of being a UPnP/DLNA Media Server when a hard drive is connected to it's USB port on the back. What they don't tell you is that only a handful of Flash and Hard Drives are actually supported. I tried two USB 2.0 devices. A WD Passport (WD1600XMS-00) at 160GB and a Memorex Flash Drive at 2GB and neither were recognized by the device. And this is after upgrading the firmware. Most of the advantage of this product over the E3200 is the Media Server, but if you don't have one of the handful of storage devices supported, then forget it.
    Also, there is no range advantage over any Wifi device I have ever used since before my Linksys WRT54G I bought about 7 years ago.
    What's great about it: Nothing over the E3200
    What's not so great: Media Server, Range

    As per the scenario that you explained that even after upgrading the firmware WD Passport (WD1600XMS-00) at 160GB and a Memorex Flash Drive at 2GB neither were recognized by the Router... But after upgrading the firmware did you reset the Router and configured it back...
    Secondly you need to download Cisco Connect 1.4 from the Cisco website (homesupport.cisco.com ) which contains the Virtual USB setup for the E4200 and the E3200 routers... Then only Your USB hard drive or memory stick can be installed and shared on multiple computers using the same Cisco Connect setup....
    As far as wireless is concern both the Routers are dual-band Wireless-N Router... So that it means it has 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies...
    For Channel Settings of 2.4 GHz you can make Channel Width to 20 MHz only and Channel to 6, 9, 11..
    For Channel Settings of 5 GHz you can make Channel Width to 20 MHz only and Channel to 40 or 161..

  • Update: E4200 Media Server Issues

    Dear All,
    Late last week engineering released beta firmware for the E4200 that should resolve the media server issues many have experienced.  This firmware release will go through a cycle of testing internally as well as with members of the community that we have been working with. Once the firmware has gone through the required testing and approvals it will be released publicly.  There is no ETA at the moment but we will update the community once a release window has been identified.

    Dear All,
    Here is an update on the media server issue.
    "The media server issue is definitely a software issue as confirmed by the engineers. A fix has been built, tested and is close to release. The firmware is currently going through the Engineering release process. This process is time consuming as this firmware is open-source and requires that Cisco follows strict guidelines to ensure that they are in compliance with the GNU General Public License. Estimated release date is around 3rd or 4th week of September if there are no other issues."
    As promised, we will keep track of this issue until a fix has been released. Again, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.

  • FLASH MEDIA SERVER 2.2 ISSUE

    i have a videochat with about 500 user once a day it becones
    slow and i have to restart flah media server. why?

    The first time a SWF connects to your app, an application
    instance is created . It remains in memory until you unload it,
    unitil you restart it that is unload and then start the server
    again or until it times out from inactivity. Even if you close all
    connections to FCS that is , close the SWFs that are connected, the
    app instance and all application variables remain in memory until
    the instance unloads Although you can always restart the entire FCS
    server. sometimes you only need to restart an individual app
    instance.

  • Flash Media Server 2 - Trace

    I have ...
    * Flash MX Professional 2004 7.2
    * Flash Media Server 2
    * Flash Remoting Components
    The problem I am having is I cannot get trace messages on
    server side scripts to display anywhere. I have looked at View
    Applications > {APP} > Live Log, but nothing is there. I have
    #include "NetDebug.as" in my code, but while giving no errors, it
    appears not to do anything. I really have no idea what is going on,
    as I have previously managed to get trace messages displayed
    successfully.
    Please help and my thanks!

    About the security warning... you get that with all .swf's
    run locally. To get rid of it, follow the link to add the location
    in the security manager. The link will take you to a page on the
    adobe site. Just add the path to the .swf, and you won't get that
    warning anymore.
    About connecting from a local .swf... it will work just fine.
    It's the flash client that makes the connection, so it doesn't
    matter where it's served or run from.
    In your main.asc, the code looks good but you don't need to
    load the component libraries unless you're using components
    (Communication components, not UI components). Loading them doesn't
    harm the operation of the application, it just uses memory where
    you not might need to.
    In your client side AS, try changing the rtmp string to match
    the following:
    myNetConnection.connect("rtmp://129.186.168.116/LawnChairLarry");
    Note the addition of a second slash after the rtmp, and the
    absence of the _definst_ instance name. If you want to use the
    default instance, you don't need to identify it.
    Next, you'll want to make sure the path to your video file
    looks like this:
    FMS Install
    Dir/applications/LawnChairLarry/streams/_definst_/LawnChairLarry.flv

  • Physical BL460c slow media server

    Hi,
    We installed a standalone Media Server in a HP c7000 Blade enclosure. It is a HP ProLiant BL460c G7 Server Blade
    The Engineer encouneterd a slow response when scanning on the SAN/ IBM Tape Library /VTLenvironment is conducted. The server reboot is extremely slow.
    The problem we encounter with the Media server is that it has a unresponsive slow performance as soon as more than 16 drivers are connected when zoning of VSAN to IBM Tape is conducted. The scanning time constraint is more than 30 minutes.  This is only server Build and zoning-no more. Network has 10GB sfp’s. No issue. It is only the Media server that has problems. What could the issue be as I was informed by the Engineer that the latest Firmware has been deployed on the Server including the drivers/HBA’s etc? Will it be a compatibility issue in terms of the IBM Tape Library?
    The media server does not connect directly to the Tape Library which is a model TS3500.
    Fibre Channel connection to SAN-EMC VMAX Connected to Cisco MDS 9513 switches. Veritas storage foundation (Cluster file system) Active passive Dbase Microsoft clustering. .Netbackup Media server over SAN-Symantec NBU Enetrprise 7.0 to backup SQL Dbases. Media server is connected to SAN CISCO switch to IBM Tape Library. Tape speed is 4GB.HBA”s in server and storage array is 8GB SFP’s Model AJ716A (Emulex).
    Any guidance would be appreciated.
    Thanks
