MediaWiki Monitor: Monitor a wiki from your menu

Out of curiousity, I decided to try to whip up a pipemenu/item that would allow wiki users to easily check the RecentChanges page of their favorite wiki. With a little bit of struggle, I came out with the current version. It's geared more towards people who are editors of wikis, monitoring article changes specifically (which is why it may display less items than you give to it in the command).
How to use:
1. Download one of the corresponding versions:
Compiz-boxmenu iconed version: http://pastebin.com/CvaHXk4y
Compiz-boxmenu no-icon version: http://pastebin.com/Lnz23eYR
Openbox version: http://pastebin.com/1pCWSLxW
Pekwm version: http://pastebin.com/iBczsy2K
2. Make the script executable
3. Place it as a pipeitem (if you're using compiz-boxmenu) or pipemenu (if you're using openbox). The command should be this:
/path/to/your/script protocol://address.to.wiki.no.trailing.slash rangeofItemstoDisplay browsercommand
Screenshot:
Roadmap:
Possible TODO: add iconed version for Pekwm
TODO: increase performance for quicker output
TODO: Add submenus for other changes
TODO: Utilize favicon in Compiz-boxmenu iconed version
Wikis tested and known to work (unless bugs are reported otherwise):
ArchWiki [fixed]
Encyclopedia Dramatica
Wikipedia [fixed]
Bugs you should report over others:
*Bugs on openbox menu syntax
*Whether the icons I used in the iconed version are valid with all icon themes
Feature requests, patches, and bug reports are welcome Be sure to test this with other wikis you contribute to!
[EDIT]: Links are now outputted in a standardized format

My thunderbolt port stopped working on my late 2011 MacBook Pro rendering my external monitor useless--or so I thought.
Mac Genius suggested using the Apple TV via AirPlay Display as a $100 solution. Took me all of 6 minutes to figure this out as there are no directions in the Apple TV box supporting this. But, it does work and I am now back in business.
PS. Don't set up with bluetooth--seems logical but you want to use AirPlay Display under Settings > Displays.
Also, I originally thought my external monitor stopped working because I upgraded the OS. This time, it was definitely a hardware issue and not software. It also fixed a known sound issue my monitor had with Macs. First time in my 15 years I've ever had a ViewSonic have issues with an Apple product, too. Thanfully, it is now fixed.
Hope this helps.

    I just connected my wife's Mac Mini running OS 10.6.8 to an IG 32' monitor. What resolution should I select from the menu in order to provide maximum screen appearance? My wife has AMD and a visual acuity of 20/400 with central scotonata.

    In System Preferences:Displays you have an option to show
    Displays Prefs in the title bar above the screen - where she can
    iteratively adjust to her liking. Higher screen resolutions, ironically,
    result in smaller characters so adjust to suit. Below, Displays is

    It needs to be wireless.
    I am not asking about mirroring, but as a second screen.
    Apple tv communties said the Apple tv cannot do this, but maybe another type device can?

  • Interface Monitoring - any example from your experience please ?

    Hi Gurus,
    In Interface Monitoring (as a subset of BPM), as you may be aware, as of Software Component ST-SER Release being  700_2008_1, a new functionality is supported:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_sm40/helpdata/en/2c/40328724e2431ba71958275b15e9fb/content.htm
    Well, I am keen to learn from your experiences if you have already used this.
    My specific question is: Can you please share an example, from your experience, an example of Interface Scenario, Interfaces and Interface Steps  for SAP interacting with Non-SAP systems inside/outside the company?
    Best regards,
    Srini

    Closing this for housekeeping sake.

  • How do I visually monitor instrumental plug-ins from the SAME computer??

    Hello -
    My set-up is noted below. Please note that my audio device for my main computer (the Mac Pro) is the _Motu 2408 MK3_.
    For larger sequencing projects, I use up to a choice of three slave computers (an aging Dell Precision Workstation, a Receptor and a MacBook Pro). I am happy to say that all works fine with this set up.
    I own many instrumental plug-ins for the MacPro (and the slave computers). Most of the instrumental plug-ins in this computer (and the others) are "powered" by Native-Instrument's Kontakt 2 Player or the full version of Kontakt 2.
    For the first time, I was experimenting with the MacPro's IAC Driver. So, for example, I was able to get the piano to play using Kontakt 2 OUTSIDE of the Logic program using the IAC Driver. It is very nice to know that I am able to do this. However, I was not able to visually monitor the audio signal from within Logic as I was playing the piano sound from the "external" Kontakt 2 program. So, to clarify my problem, I could hear the piano, but I could not see the audio signal on the audio meter from within Logic.
    First, I tried using the Logic's "*External Instrument*" plug-in. That did not work. Second, communicating with the "external" Kontakt 2 program using Logic's midi instrument via the IAC driver, I tried monitoring the audio signal using an Audio Channel from Logic. I Could not figure out how to route the audio signal so that it could be seen by Logic, so that did not work.
    I tried seeing if I could somehow configure the 2408 MK3 driver and CueMix Console. Nothing.
    So, here is my question (possibly two questions):
    1) Is it possible to configure the MOTU 2408 MK3 device so that I can monitor audio signals from within Logic that originate from instrumental plug-ins activated OUTSIDE of Logic?
    If yes, then. . .
    2) HOW do I configure the MOTU 2408 MK3 device and/or configure Logic so that the audio signals can be monitored? (And so that I can add EQ and audio effects, etc.??)
    Thank you in advance. . .
    Ted

    First, noequplease, THANK YOU very much for taking the time to answer my question. I sincerely appreciate the time and effort that you shared!!!
    I need to clarify myself, I guess. These are not "external" synths in the literal sense. Everything is "internal" within the same computer (the MacPro) as the Logic Pro program. These are instrumental plug-ins like the *Kontakt 2 Player* or the *Kontakt 2* (full version). What I've learned how to do is connect to these instrumental software plug-ins external from the Logic Pro program via the IAC Driver. So, it's all "internal" within the computer, just "external" from Logic. (If that makes sense.)
    The reason I'm attempting to connect Logic this way is so that I can use more of the 8 GBs of RAM found within my MacPro. So, in other words, I would use the Kontakt 2 Player as an instrumental plug-in within the Logic Pro program and ALSO connect Logic Pro to the "external" *Kontakt 2 Player* (the _stand alone_ plug-in version) via the IAC Driver.
    I can communicate with the stand alone version(s) of Kontakt via the IAC driver. Sound is coming out. However, I have yet to figure out a way route the audio signals from the stand alone plug-in to inside Logic.
    I suspect that your suggestion of using an external mixer might be the answer (despite using computer-based instrumental plug-ins). I don't think that there's a way of routing the audio signal from a stand alone plug-in to Logic without the use of some kind of mixer. I most probably will need a digital mixer to take advantage of the 2408 MK3's ADAT digital signals to route the signals back into the MacPro. Sadly, I can't afford a digital mixer at this time.
    I don't know. . . .
    BUT, like I said in my original post, my CURRENT set-up using the "slave" computers works just fine. I'm just trying to figure out a way to make use of all of my MacPro's 8 GBs of RAM. UGH.
    Any ideas??

    Initially i've a put an index of emp table in monitoring state..
    later i've got this query
    select 'alter index '||index_name||' monitoring usage' as index_monitor from user_indexes where index_name='EMP';
    can any body explain me what is the meaning of this query...
    and how do that query in the strings of projection area works....
    i'm totally confused
    thank you in advance.

    This is referred to as SQL generating SQL.  It is most useful when you  need to generate SQL statements for all indexes or indexes for one user.  After generating the text you then would execute it in SQLPlus or the tool of your choice.  If you combine this with a spool statement, SPOOL MyGeneratedScript.SQL you can run it with @MyGeneratedScript in SQLPlus.  I combine this into a script which generates the file, calls the editor so you can look it over and then executes it.  Here is an example of moving indexes to a different tablespace.
    -- UTL_Move_Indexs_To_New_TableSpace_Script.SQL
    /* This script will grab all the tables out of the specified source tablespace
    ** and move them into the specified target tablespace.  Ensure the the target
    ** exists and has sufficient room.  You must be logged in as the table owner.
    ACCEPT v_source_tablespace_name PROMPT 'Enter source tablespace name: '
    ACCEPT v_target_tablespace_name PROMPT 'Enter target tablespace name: '
    SET HEADING OFF
    SET FEEDBACK OFF
    SET TERMOUT OFF
    SET ECHO OFF
    SPOOL _move_index.SQL
    SELECT    'ALTER INDEX '
           || ndx.owner
           || '.'
           || ndx.index_name
           || CHR (10)
           || 'REBUILD '
           || CHR (10)
           || 'TABLESPACE '
           || UPPER ('&v_target_tablespace_name')
           || ';'
             sql_statement
    FROM   dba_indexes ndx
    WHERE      ndx.tablespace_name = UPPER ('&v_source_tablespace_name')
           AND ndx.index_type <> 'LOB'
    ORDER BY ndx.owner,
             ndx.index_name;
    SPOOL OFF
    --Edit the move script
    EDIT _move_index
    --Reset parameters.
    SET TERMOUT ON
    PAUSE Hit Ctrl+C to ABORT, any key to CONTINUE,
    -- Run the move script
    SPOOL  Move_Indexs_To_New_TableSpace.LOG

    SPOOL OFF

  • Monitoring JRockit 8.0 from WLS console

    Hi,
    In JRockit 8.0 docs in section "Monitoring WebLogic JRockit JVM from WebLogic
    Server" I read the following:
    To monitor WebLogic JRockit JVM, do the following:
    Start WebLogic Server with WebLogic JRockit JVM as the VM.
    In the left pane of the Administration Console, expand the Servers folder.
    Click a server that is using the WebLogic JRockit JVM.
    In the right pane, click the Monitoring tab. Then click the JRockit tab.
    Unfortunately there is no JRockit tab in WLS 7.0 sp1 console. Is it possible
    to monitor JRockit from WLS 7.0 console? Any additional setup needed for that?
    Thanks in advance,
    Andrew

    Unfortunately this piece of documentation refers to the coming release of
    WLS, not 7.0. Sorry about that.

  • 10.5.2 Update - Second monitor "blinks" after wake from sleep

    Posting in the off chance that others have seen this behavior. This seems to be Leopard related, and did not start happening until after I installed the 10.5.2 update.
    After waking from sleep my second monitor will blink on and off for anywhere from 2 seconds to about 30 seconds at which time it functions properly. It does not do this on initial startup OR when booting from my tiger volume (backed up with superDuper before a clean install of Leopard). Unplugging the display and plugging it back in also stops the "blinking"; turning the monitor off and then on has no effect.
    My machine is a early (2007) model 2x2.66 dual-core with 3GB of (Apple) RAM and a GeForce 7300 GT. All firmware updates have been applied and software update reports no updates available.
    The displays are both Sceptre X9G-NagaV 19" flat-panels connected via DVI, though I see the same behavior when using my 20" apple cinema display as second head. (I know these are cheap monitors. Please refrain from telling me that the displays are at fault - it 's not a problem with the display, as this doesn't happen under Tiger. The monitors have performed admirably for over two years)

    Have you tried unplugging the second monitor, rebooting and letting it run without it for a little while, and then plugging it back in to see if it clears some persistent loading problem? My monitor has always gone out on me kinda randomly, but I think it's my GPU in my PMG5 that's losing power and resetting or something so it wouldnt be the same issue (I've gone through two so far with the same results).
    Alternatively, try changing some of the display settings, such as resolution, color, and such to see if the change corrects how it's loading the display.

  • "Because a USB device was drawing too much power from your computer..." error withOUT any USB device

    Hi,
    I am getting this error since recently when I am using my MBP:
    "Because a USB device was drawing too much power from your computer..."
    The 'funny' thing: there is no USB device attached to the computer (only power and monitor cables).
    Why is this happening and what could I do about it?
    Appreciate your ideas?

    It's probably an internal hardware fault, but you can try this:

    Usually the apps belonging to these icons have an option that allows you to hide the Menu Bar icon by allowing them to run as an app in the dock. However, certain applications like Caffeine must show their icons as otherwise you wouldn't be able to access them.
    For example, Dropbox doesn't allow you to remove its menu bar icon:
