Memory leak while debugging but not in release version

I have an Adobe AIR application that must load and unload multiple external swfs, and it must run for hours.
I had an issue where there was a memory leak. I tried all kinds of fixes, including rolling back SDKs and Adobe Runtime,
but every time I tested in Flashbuilder, the memory would climb, and with each unload a FlexLoader would stay in memory.
Finally I tried creating a release build, and low and behold the memory did not climb. It stayed the same even under stress testing.
So evidently, the memory leak had to do with debug version, and once it was a release version, the leak disappeared.

UPDATE: The problem was with the external swfs being loaded into the main application.
If I compiled them in debug, they leaked. In release version they did not.

Little lost here. Looks like you are facing memory leaks in Tuxedo 7.1 WS
client code when it talks with Tuxedo 6.x? Is this correct?
If so, try installing latest rolling patch for Tuxedo 7.1.
We recently fixed couple of memory leaks in interop area. One was related to
compression.

Network Stream On PXI W/RTOS works in debug but not deployed

I have a new problem, recently my network streams have decided to not work.
I have a PXI with a 8102 controller running the NI RTOS, If I run the program on the PXI from in the development environment they work as expected, however if I build the exe and run as startup the communicating program times out, the target (PXI) is unresponsive.
This has work previously, we had a power outage and I had to re-format the PXI HD and re-install the RTOS, I do believe it is back to the original state before the power issue software wise, but as stated my network streams seem to be unresponsive as an app

any ideas? The fact that it work like a champ in debug, but not as an exe is very frustrating, especially since it was all working beautifully before the power outage.

The Sub VI is setting up and controlling the 2536 Switch and 6133 capture cards based on the command recieved by the Vi from the host program.
It also talks with the 7811
I thought that I was using slot numbers to reference the cards before the corruption, but now it is device numbers,.
I was playing around in MAX and it caused labview to crash if I tried to view the block diagram of the subvi.
I changed everything back in MAX and now the App is running - that is I can now establish a network stream with it and comunicate with the 7811, my data captures however seems to not be working and cause the PXI to go off in the weeds, the CPU loads go up and stay up and I can't re-establish the network streams without a reboot.
I just took a look at MAX while the PXI is in lala land, it has little red x's next to the 6133's and 2536

Generate DDL works in old version of SQL Developer, but not in new versions

Hello all,
How to generate DDL in new versions of Oracle SQL Developer for production Oracle database?
For production database, the generate DDL feature works fine in old versions (version 1.5.5) of Oracle SQL Developer, SQuirrel, Toad and many other similar tools, but not the new versions of Oracle SQL Developer (such as 2.1.1.64.45).
The SQL tab for a table is blank for me in production databases. Of course, it works fine in development Oracle database.
I did some research that many articles describe SELECT_CATALOG_ROLE as the required read-only role in production database. Our DBA did a test to grant me this role temporarily, and it worked for me to generate DDL using new Oracle SQL Developer. It is pain for me to ask for this role.
Is there a plug-in or work-around, so the new versions of Oracle SQL Developer can have this generate DDL feature in production without the mentioned SELECT_CATALOG_ROLE?
I could not find the answer in older forum threads.
For now, I will have to install older versions of Oracle SQL Developer.

I've seen a couple posts about people not being able to generate DDL for other users. To date, I've never seen a anybody post a workaround, nor have I seen one of the developers post a response, nor have I seen anybody say they've submitted a SR.
I think I remember reading somewhere that the new version of SQL Developer uses dbms_metadata.get_ddl to generate DDLS, rather than some custom query built on top of catalog views...which could explain why it use to work, but no longer does. But whether or not this is true, I don't know.
You could try submitting a SR and see if Oracle responds saying that it's a known bug and will be fixed in the next release. Until then, unless you get the role, you're stuck using something else for DDL generation.

Client-side Memory leak while executing PL/SQL and reading from a view

Iam noticing memory leaks in OCCI while performing the following:
Sample function()
1. Obtain a connection
2. Create a statement to execute a PL/SQL procedure
3 Execute the statement created in step #2
4. Terminate the statement created in step #2
5. Create a statement to read from a view which was populated
by executing stored procedure in step #3
6. Execute the statement created in step #5
7. Terminate the statement created in step #5
8. Release the connection
The PL/SQL populates a view with fixed 65,000 records for every execution. PL/SQL opens a cursor, loads 65000 records and populates the target view and closes the cursor at the end. If i invoke the above function it results in memory leak of 4M for every call. I tried several variants such as:
1. Disabling statement caching
2. Using setSQL instead of newly creating second SQL statement
3. Obtaining two separate connections for these two activities (PL/SQL exec and View read)
4. Breaking the sample function into two, one for each of these activities (PL/SQL exec and View read).
All the combinations results in the same behaviour of 4M memory leak.
Iam using Oracle 10g Client/Server 10.2.0.1.0.

My program contains layers of inhouse wrapper classes, which will take some time for
me to present it in pure OCCI calls, to be posted here for your understanding.
After some more debugging, i found that if the connection level statement caching is set to
0, the memory leak is much lower than before.

Mountain Lion memory leak while asleep?

My early 2011 MBP started to randomly crash after installing ML and Safari would take an age to load, endless spinning wheels, apps not opening etc etc. So did a Boot sector permissions verify and repair (2 very minor mismatched files) then a reset of PRAM and SMC which has cured the crashes and improved things from startup and removed old Sophos and installed new ML version.
But the biggest problem is when waking from sleep. I have a memory tool in my status bar which usually shows anything between 3.5 - 5gb free RAM under normal conditions (I have 8gb installed) and that is what will be showing when I put it to sleep. When waking I get constant spinning wheels, the clock is frozen (spinning wheel will start from Time Capsule icon all the way to Spotlight) and the RAM tool is displaying 45mb or less of free RAM. It takes at least 5 minutes for RAM to creep back up to 150mb or so when things will then start to become usable. But at this point I won't even get an internet connection until I use the memory tool to fee up more RAM. I've read of other problems regarding wireless connectivity when waking up but I'm using an ethernet connection. Once everything has calmed down and memory settled down MBP works flawlessly with no crashing and all apps working fine and there is a speed improvement but I shouldn't have to wait up to 10 minutes for my MBP to be usable. I did notice that when launching Sys Prefs the Time Machine tab caused it to freeze so could this have something to do with that?
But what could be bleeding off the RAM while it's asleep?
I'm so ****** off at this, never a problem with SL and definitely wishing I'd waited before doing this upgrade, it reminds me of my Windows Vista days!!!

In my Macbook Pro 4GB RAM recently note memory leak when I opened Safari even with 1 or two windows open without refresh the web content.
In Activity monitor could see consume Web Content the Safari Spend more the 2 GB RAM (Memory Real become Memory Inactive)
Solution: Disable All Extensions and probe one to one. Finding that Fastesttube Extension was responsible.

How to find the memory values while debugging

I am using the "Menu Selection With Events.vi" example alongside other while loops, When I select exit from the new menu it stops the other while loops but not the menu/event while loop

The event driven menu example works fine and I've integrated it into my application. I have built in simple local vars to link menu selections to existing GUI buttons. The problem is that I cannot get the File-Exit menu option to switch off/terminate the application. The [1] "Stop": Value Change panel of the event structure simply switches off the other while loops but leaves the event while loop running. Add a while loop to the axample using a local var from the event while loop to terminate 2nd while loop to get the effect.

I documented what I did on the block diagram.You were right on you just needed to add a variable with a true wired to it.

I assume that you will have to set up as new since it will not let you restore from the backup. Then after you set it up, you can restore from the iCloud backup. The backup should not disappear be use you are setting this device up as new. Your backup should still be in iCloud.
However, after you activate the iPd and update the software, you will have to erase the device in order to restore from the Cloud backup, that is the only way to get to the iCloud backup.

Xfdf and pdf works in Adobe Reader 6, but not with new versions 7, 8, X

I have a xfdf file which is created by querying a SQL data base and contains data for a pdf form; it works with Adobe Reader 6, but does not work with new versions of Adobe Readers (7, 8, 9 and X).
It is an intranet site running IIS 6.0 in Windows Server 2003 Web Edition SP2 with Adobe 6 installed and client systems include XPSP2, XPSP3, Vista, Windows 7 with different versions of IE, Firefox.
With new versions of Adobe Reader, click on the hyperlink launched the pdf form in a browser window without data; below is the link:

I have installed new versions of Adobe Reader in the Web server (to match what the clients are using), but results are the same – blank pdf.
I uninstalled the new versions and installed version 6 and the pdf and xfdf worked happily together, but we need new versions of Adobe Reader in the client computers.
Thanks for helps and suggestions – I have read articles about using iTextSharp to create pdf documents from .NET apps, but that would be my last choice.

It switches to the Classic view but not the new view which I really like.... My laptop has Google Chrome and it has not problems with this new view of Windstream only with Mozilla Firefox 5, the other version never had any problems either...I had 3 and had no problems till I up graded....

I do agree that ''something'' needs to be done better with regards to plugins for Firefox, but I do disagree with you as to whose responsibility that ''something'' is.
