Memory still being used but no songs playlists being shown

I went to charge my I-pod, using the adapter, and when I went back later to start playing songs, it showed that all the songs were gone (or not being shown) and no playlists!
But the weird thing is, my I-pod is still using the same amount of memory. I did the manual reset and still it's the same!
Anyone can explain this or help me out?

First thing to check is if the songs show up when you connect your iPod to you computer and open iTunes.
If they do not, you will need to Restore your iPod using the iPod Updater. NOTE: this WILL ERASE all music on your iPod.
The disappearance of your music is usually caused by corrupt iPod software. The restore will fix things.

Go to Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Keyboard and Mouse -> Mouse
And edit your mouse settings to do what you want it to do.

Third, from my understanding, it would appear you are concerned about the noise the hard drive makes when it falls asleep? Why not put your machine in screen saver mode instead? Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Energy Saver turn off all Energy Saver settings, or set them to run Never.
Fourth, if your machine was purchased just a few days ago, you may still be able to get an exchange from the store, quicker than you can get a repair done. You may want to look into that possibility.
Fifth, it does appear you found the Logic forum. I would persist in asking there how to solve your technical issue with Logic regarding the audio. It may be you don't have to do anything special to the hard drive. Remember audio can be transmitted by wire, avoiding ambient sounds.

I can move the file.(200gb+) but its still useless
does 2012 server just produce worthless backups sometimes???
I cant seam to get it to even follow its own set schedule its supposed to do it weekly, but its decided not to do it.

Could you please provide a little more information about your environment? What backup program are you using? What sort of VHD file are you trying to backup? VHD files are used for more than just virtual machines, so it is difficult to try
to diagnose a problem when we don't know what is being used. What sort of NAS?

server 2012 datacenter running the Microsoft backup utility.
the vhd is standard MS backup image.
im running a domain network and the nas is a netgear readynas in domain mode, i.e. user account has full folder privilages.
I have several 2012 servers all with subsequent VM's of ALL flavors. and my most recent backup did this anomaly on one of the 3 servers.
the backup is being done from the main domain admin act, and I am logged into that server as my account (cloned from domain admin) but logging in with actual administrator account does nothing for the errors.

My IPod Clasic will sometimes display the error "lost connection" when it's being used, but not when connected to my computer. Any ideas?

This does not happen when connected to a docking device or computer, only when it is being used with headphones. If I reboot, it's fine, but it does happen again.

Can't delete file after renaming due to Word file handle still present. Error staes document is still in use but it's really not. Worked fine in 2007 but not in 2010.

I have some code associated with a Word Template. The template is opened, filled out and saved via a routing in vba. This all works fine in older 2007 version (which is version it was originally created in). Once this file is saved, the user can change the
date in a text box and re-save document. The code saves using the new date for part of new file name and then deletes that older file from the server. It fails at the delete function because the newer version of word is not dropping the file handle from the
first named file when user saves it to the new filename. In older version (2007) this handle was released as soon as file was saved to a different name. I can't seem to figure out how to release the old document filename so the old document file can be deleted.
I hope I explained this well enough.

I went back and looked at my code and had already updated it to SaveAs in the new docx format. It still holds the lock handle in place until Word closes, unlike earlier versions which released the lock handle when you did a SaveAs.
As a note, all my Word and Excel macro-enabled (dotm & xltm) templates are read only and are never filled in, prompting the user for a file name on any close event or if they run the code gets auto-named. I do the SaveAs and concatenate the file name
from data on the document (or sheet) that has been filled in. During the SaveAs the docx gets saved to a network folder and also on a local folder. The lock gets renamed to the filename and remains until Word is closed.
So my code still fails at the point noted below while trying to delete an old filename version after the file has been saved as a new filename in a new folder. So....
The code is looking in the last folder where the docx file was saved for the older filename so it can be deleted. The newest docx version has already been saved in a different folder and has a new lock handle of its own. That lock is not my problem, it's
the older file lock which really exists in the same folder as the first filename that the docx was saved to. It does not release that lock until I exit Word. My work around has been to instruct all users to manually delete the older version file.
The other odd thing is this only happens when I run it from code, if you manually go through these steps with the SaveAs menu drop-downs in Word it will release the lock handle???

I can certainly see how that would be an inconvenience. We call this “Activation Lock” and this is a security feature that is enabled by the original owner of the device. This feature can only be disabled by the owner who enabled it.
In this case, since you purchased it from Cash Converters, they would be the best resource for you to contact, as they may be able to reach out to the original owner.
Once the original owner is contacted, they can remove the iPhone from their iCloud account on iCloud.com and you will have access to activate the phone again.

Yes, absolutely. However, the block is controlled by the carrier. If we are dealing with an Activation Lock issue, that is a feature of iCloud and once the owner releases the device from their account you would be able to add it to your own.

I am in a similar situation. Hoping there has been an update to fix this problem by now.... I do NOT want to deauthorize all 5 computers, AT ALL. I only want to deauthorize 1 computer I do not have anymore! Because there is no way I'd ever want to deal with re authorizing the other 4, when I only need to deauthorize ONE.

I contacted support and asked to remove all activations for my product. Some software was installed on a computer that I can't use anymore. The computer is still in use but I never deactivated it or uninstalled it.

Basically, how long will this person be able to use my software until the activation updates?

That isn't how it works. Even if Support reset your activation count, products that have been activated previously will remain activated. (Unless it's a CC product, which requires regular re-activation.)

My itunes program wont allow me to eject my Ipod, it says that my divice has files that are currently being used but I dont have anything running intentionally. If there is any advice you can give that would be great. This is my first time trying it out.

Try delete it and reinstall.
To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2. Download it from the App Store to reinstall It's on your Purchases List* there.
For older versions that have been installed from Disk you'll need these additional steps:
2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
2c: on 10.7 or later they're at
/private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
*Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.

iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always.

As above since getting my iPad replaced I used almost 6gb last month but was using it on 3G for a week. In July only used it on home wifi network but orange say I have used 8gb of mobile data and slapp me with a 250 quid bill. Help! I am not thick i have turned off mobile data but have not used it at home on wifi.

You've somehow already pinpointed the problem, of course (Office). Many people seem to run it successfully. Maybe re-install it?
Anyway, if this were happening to me, I would be looking more closely (via Activity Monitor) at how the RAM is being used. With "All Processes" being shown, sort by "Real Memory" and see who is the hog.

Ipod Suffle memory shows 550mb already used before any songs added.

I just got my new ipod shuffle.
When I connected it and started to add songs it showed that 550mb of the memory was already used but did not show what it was used for. I have not added anything to it.
I just added songs and although it claims I can add up to 240 songs I have added 50 and the memory is full.
This is my first move to apple and I am not impressed. Maybe I am doing something wrong, anyone any ideas?

try resetting it to factory settings. anything on it should be reset and wiped off.
How to reset:
1. Disconnect iPod shuffle from the computer (if connected).
2. Move the switch on the back of iPod shuffle to the off position.
Tip: When iPod shuffle is off, the green stripe by the switch is not visible.
3. Wait 5 seconds.
4. Move the switch on the back to the play in order or the shuffle position. The green stripe will be visible in either position.

Can't the iPod nano 7th gen. VoiceOver function identify which language that is being used? My iPod Shuffle can.

I am very satisfied with my iPod SHUFFLE (last version), especially with the VoiceOver function which is (quite) able to identify correctly which language is being used in every song: For a Norwegian artist / a song in Norwegian, the artist and title is pronounced in Norwegian; for a French artist / a song in French, the artist and title is pronounced in French; for an English artist / a song in English, the artist and title is pronounced in English etc. A really impressive and useful function!
I was very surprised and dissatisfied to find that my new iPod nano 7th generation does not seem to work this way: I am able to select the language to be used in VoiceOver, but then this language is used in everything that is pronounced. Most of my music is in English language, so this is what I have selected. But to hear Norwegian artists' names and Norwegian titles pronounced with an English-speaking voice is quite disturbing.
I believe I have been through all possible settings in the nano and in iTunes to correct this, but I am unable to find a solution. I have also asked people at an Apple store, but they were unable to help. Can anybody help? Or is it really possible that this excellent function has been removed?
(Could it be that the previous version of iTunes could fix the problem? I have installed the last one, v. 11.0.1.12.)

Check what oracle installed components are actually being used in database

I have been allotted a new database which I have to optimize. So I am thinking about removing some installed components which I think are not being used in any way in database (i.e procedures calls etc). I can see a whole lot of components like "SDO","ORDIM" which I think are not being used but previous DBAs have installed them. So, is there any way to ensure that no part of database are actually using these components so that I can remove these components. Also ,what are your expert comments about this?

Is this a production or a development environment? If an object isn't being used then it's not necessarily a problem (performance wise) unless it's cluttering up either your dictionary or raising concerns in regards consuming unnecessary space. Personally I'd recommend that it's better to tune what is being used / taking resources. It may be a once a year report or some old utility pulled out once a year, best check why these things are there.
If you go down the dropping route, rather than drop anything immediately lock accounts for an agreed period of time to make sure that the schema isn't used & check any references from other schemas to objects within the schema that you're planning to drop, potentially audit these to check whether they're being called by other schemas / checking dba_dependencies between schemas & objects using a hierarchical query to check sublevels.
There are also quite a few Oracle standard components that are installed by default that have interdependencies and won't necessarily be used in the dictionary (checking dba_features_usage_statistics)
