Menu buttons without draw-down menus

I need help…
I have a client that is adamant, refusing draw-down menus in the navigational buttons.
So I laid out a page where there are 6 navigational buttons across the top, then on the left side I added 7 buttons (lozenge shapes) going down.  So all together I have approx 13 links / pages. Based on the top navigational buttons there are 6 pages. How can I create 7 additional individual pages without affecting the 6 original navigational buttons. Is that possible?
Thank you!
sal

Anshul,
Here's something similar of what I have in mind.
How can I link the side buttons to the pages "test 1, tast 2... etc.?

Do a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder before (re)installing a fresh copy of the current Firefox release.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
    *Firefox 21.0.x: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
Uninstall your current Firefox version, if possible, to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.
*Do NOT remove personal data when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because all profile folders will be removed and you will lose all personal data like bookmarks and passwords from profiles of other Firefox versions.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.

    *(64 bit Windows) "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\"
*It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.

Your bookmarks and other personal data are stored in the Firefox profile folder and won't be affected by an uninstall and (re)install, but make sure that "remove personal data" is NOT selected when you uninstall Firefox.
If you keep having problems then also create a new profile.

  • Can anyone tell me how to increase the text size in my menu bar and drop down menus?

Just bought a new 27" screen iMac.  The menu bar and drop down menu text is much to small for me to see without leaning close to the screen.  Does anyone know how to customize the text to a larger size.  This is an issue for any program I open.

Once upon a time Apple displays packed in 72 dots to an inch (making their resolution 72 DPI). That meant that what we saw on screen at 100% scale was exactly what was printed on a printer - not to mention quite comfortable to read. However that advantage was eclipsed by the fact that photopgraphs and video were pixelated and the only solution to that was to increase the resolution - to pack in more dots per inch - which has the side effect of shrinking the size of text. Where I once used Word at 100% scale I now find it most comfortable at 150% scale.
There are several solutions. One, as Lex gave you, was to reduce the resolution of the LCD display. But unlike CRT displays, an LCD is tuned to a specific resolution and when you change it the results tend to be blurry. Another is to keep the resolution as it is and to adjust each program (if the program allows it). This makes Word usable and your browser can be set to use no font smaller than a size you set (which has some unpleasant side affects at some Web sites), but some programs and some parts of programs cannot be changed. The menubar and menus are among them. The third solution is one that Apple promised several years ago but has not yet provided - a resolution independant GUI. We can only hope that comes soon. And there's another partial solution - look in System Preferences under Accessibility.

  • Menu buttons without underline when hyperlinked

Can anyone help me with my menu buttons? I want to have a red
text without underline, but they turn blue and underlined when I
hyperlink them. What can I do to avoid the automatic formatting for
hyperlinks? I have the menu buttons in a table in the library.
Earlier I used flash text, but then I first had to click at
the button to delete some kind of security filter before I had to
click again at the button I wanted. Anyone that knows something
about that? I really liked the flash text buttons that changed
color when you rolled over them, but now I can't use it because of
the extra clicking everyone has to do.

(by the way, you can remove or change the font-weight if you
    like)

  • Buttons without pressed down colour

In currently working on a program for which I need buttons without decorations. I succeed in removing most of the effects: the borders, the 3D-effects are replaced by colours etc. The only problem that is left is the fact that when I press the button it changes colour. I've been searching for a way to do so, but I didn't find a way to solve the problem:
The button still needs a background colour, so that means I can't just make it transparant, and I can't do it using look and feel because that seems to change ALL of the buttons (and I also use some normal ones apart from the 'stripped' buttons).
Is there a way to change the down state of a JButton without having to truly make a new object that extends the AbstractButton? And if there really is no other way, could someone point me in te right direction on how to make such an extention? (I know how to make extended objects etc, but I'm quite new to using Swing etc and haven't found how to make such things)
    Greetings,

Sorry BaltimoreJohn, I completely missed your post!
Yes, as you said, b JLabel is probably the answer. But don't implement mouseClicked() - you should actually use the other four methods of MouseListener to handle button presses. Reason being that mouseClicked() will only work if the cursor is perfectly stationary in between the press and release.

  • How do I get video clips out of menu button?

    iMovie 9.0.8  iDVD 7.1.2
I have a 90 minute video with 11 chapters.  I found in "edit" menus something called populate drop zones" and clicked it for main page and two sub menu pages.  When trying to burn,  I got the error message "- There seems to be too much motion menu content in your project. Correct this problem before you continue burning this project."
Fine, I'll take out the damned videos out of the menus....BUT HOW?  There seems to be no way to "unpopulate drop zones"  I tried dragging a photo into the menu buttons without success.
I shouldn't have to start over and wait another hour for iDVD to read my iMovie project every time there is some change to make to drop zone content.

Sounds like Revolution and there's only one dropzone in the top menu.  Type Command + i to bring up the info window for that menu.  The dropzone will be the one in the middle:
It'll be the same for the submenus.
iDVD allows up to 15 minutes of playing time in motion menus.  If you're referring to the buttons for the individual chapters you can change the button type to just text.  Or if the video in the drop zone is longer than 15 minutes just add a still photo to the drop zone instead of a movie.
You can get an idea of  the total menu playing time in the Project Info window:

  • Motion menu buttons in Layered menus

I´ve got a PSD Layered menu and I need to have a preview of the film playing either as the button or just on the menu, either way I can´t get the track playing in the motion menu.
Is there a way to do this?
    Thanks

I´ve just seen I can´t use video in layered menus, that´s after creating the whole menu system without being told in the manual...
Can I use Overlay mapping to display a layer or image over each of the 9 buttons to select?

  • Help writing code for drop down menus and/or radio buttons

Hey, new to the forums, fairly new to programming in Java. I want to put up a "Ebay store", on Ebay.... well I guess that's obvious. I want to make a menu that either incorporates "Drop-down menus" (preferred - see below) or radio buttons. I do not know how to code these or how to incorporate them with the Ebay interface so that the new options selected by the customer with automatically adjust the price of the item. All help is appreciated.

I'm guessing what you want to do has nothing to do with Java. It probably has more to do with JavaScript. You are probably going to have to learn a little HTML (Drop-down menus are really select boxes) and then some JavaScript to go along with it (onChange="javascript: doPriceChange();"). I have absolutely no idea about the EBay interface so this is all just a guess. Here's a google search for adding javascript to a select box.

  • Flash Drop Down Menu Buttons

I was under the impression that Flash allowed one to place
buttons within buttons. Basically I am trying to create a simple
drop down navigation menu. A simple horizontal bar with four
buttons that change color and drop down menus as the viewer scrolls
over the buttons. I would then like the drop down text titles to
change color as the viewer scrolls over the individual items on the
drop down menu. When the viewer clicked on the title ("down"
position) it would once again change color. Thank you.

I ended up doing just what you suggested and everything in
the Universe is back in place.
    Thank you.

  • Creating a Drop Down Menu Attached to Existing Rovvover Menu Buttons

I am working on a website, and I was wondering if one can create a drop down menu for existing buttons. I looked over directions for adding drop down menus for iWeb (http://iwebfaq.org/site/iWebTeardown.html) but wondered how difficult it would be to connect them to the rollover buttons that I am already using in my menu bar.
Here is my draft site: http://web.me.com/toesproductions/AFW/Home.html
Thank you for any advice or help you maybe able to provide.

In iWeb you use the HTML Snippet to paste the code for the dropdownmenu.
You have to find the code first.
    [Using the iWeb HTML Snippet|http://www.wyodor.net/blog/archives/2009/07/entry_213.html]
You can also add the code directly with a JavaScript :
    http://www.wyodor.net/_Demo/tmf/Duckmenu.html
    http://www.wyodor.net/_Demo/tmf/TMF.html
    This is the JavaScript :
    http://www.wyodor.net/_Demo/duckmenu/tmf.js
It searches for a textbox with the word DIVmenu in it and replaces it with the code.
You may have to learn HTML/CSS/JavaScript and how iWeb creates its webpages.

  • My Firefox menu button has disappeared. Why? How can I get it back? Without it I don't know how to get to my FTP.

My Firefox menu button has disappeared. Why? How can I get it back? Without it I don't know how to get to my FTP. I never did anything to make this happen.

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in full screen mode (press F11 or Fn + F11 to toggle; Mac: command+Shift+F).
Press F10 or tap the Alt key to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily if the Menu Bar is hidden.

  • HT202157 I brought a new apple TV after it was going thru its update, it lost power?  I tried the reboot with the down arrow and menu button, but no love. Is this unit busted?

I brought a new apple tv.  I tried to update it. When it finished, it lost power.  I tried to reset it with the down arrow key and the menu button, but no love. Does this mean that i should take it back to the store?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
    Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Devices list, and then click Restore.
(You may already have a micro USB cable if you have a camera or other digital device)

  • Adding pages without adding menu buttons.

I've built a website with iweb: www.freedin.org. I want to add pages, underneath pages, that already exist, because I don't want a new menu button for each page I put up.
Is there a way to layer the pages, like the layers of an onion, so that if you went to Din's Unfair Trial menu page, you could click on pages below, all living under the same menu button?
    Panther

In iWeb, go to a page you don't want to appear in the navbar (the menu). Click on the inspector button (the blue circle with an i). Click on the page icon, and uncheck the "Include page in Navigation Menu."
On the page you want to be the "master" page for that section, add links for the pages that don't appear in the Navigtion Menu. Links are also created from the inspecto. Select the text or picture you want to be a link; click on the inspector, then click on the blue circle with the arrow. Check "Enable as Hyperlink" and select the appropriate choices from the drop-down menu.

  • Setting width of drop-down menu buttons

    Hi,
I am creating a site that has two horizontal navigation bars, each of which has several submenus (drop-down menus). You can view the page here.
Most of the main (parent) navigation buttons are of differing widths, for which I had to create different styles. Now I want the drop-down (child) buttons to match the width and positioning of their parent buttons. Do I need to create different styles for each set of drop-downs, and if so, what's the best way to do that?
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
    Arthur

I think you have some other issues as well - at least in IE8 (see below).
I didn't look into the code you have yet, but there are several sites that offer very nice navigation systems for a pretty reasonable price - may be worth looking into. I'm not promoting any specific ones, but one site that's been heavily recommended within this forum is project seven (http://www.projectseven.com/ ), may be worth exploring as they offer full tech support, and the time saved will likely pay for the cost of the system many times over...
    Hope that helps,
    Jesse

  • Cs4 vertical drop down menu button malfunctioning

I need some help please.  My vertical drop down menu buttons have started to get small when you hover over them. They have been working great for over a year and now have started to do this. I don't know how to help the situation. gobhi.org
    thanks!

That's because you have set the font-size to 18% on hover & focus.  Change it to 100%.
/* Menu items that have mouse over or focus have a blue background and white text */
    ul.MenuBarVertical a:hover, ul.MenuBarVertical a:focus
