Menues in english and spanish languages

Hi! I was given a Swing interface:
10 menu items, each one launches 5 to 10 submenues, each one launches several panels all in Spanish Language like this:
private JMenu jMenuFile = new JMenu();
jMenuFile.setText("Archivo");
Now I was asked to change it to let the user select the language he wants all the menues to be displayed, for the moment only 2 languages: Spanish and English (but in the future maybe more).
I think there could be a file where all the tags could be in both languages, for the tag "Archivo" in spanish, in english should be the tag "File". But before reinventing this wheel (which of course I am not able to, i'm new to java) I'm here asking for advice or an example..

Have a look at the tutorial for Internationalization:
http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/i18n/index.html
Have a look at the "Java Look and Feel Design Guidelines" for a localization word list:
http://java.sun.com/products/jlf/ed2/book/Appendix.C.html
http://java.sun.com/products/jlf/ed2/book/Appendix.C2.html
http://java.sun.com/products/jlf/ed2/book/
I also started to make a library to localize standard actions (open source). Currently only english and german are supported. To support spanish you have to put a file StandardActions_es.properties in a package org.softsmithy.lib.swing.action and fill in the values for the keys used in http://softsmithy.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/softsmithy/trunk/lib/src/org/softsmithy/lib/swing/action/StandardActions.properties?view=markup
(Note: that the localization files are not complete yet. I can provide you more information if you are interested.)
If you do this, it would be great, of course, if you would contribute this localization to the project. :-)

I am a language intructor, can I use Adobe Presenter to work properly on both, English, and Spanish presentations with the same software?

It shouldn't be an issue. Ultimately, Presenter doesn't care what language the content or audio is in, it will deliver it just the same. The only issue I could see causing problems would be the player skin. It has Spanish lables, but they only show on a computer with the OS set to Spanish. If you want the student to view both and English and a Spanish version on the same computer, you may need to have two versions of the language.xml file where you have one that has the desired English lables in the "en" section and one where it has the desired Spanish labels in the "en" section. You would then swap these files in and out of the folder located at,C:\Users\{UserName}\AppData\Local\Adobe\Adobe Presenter\Themes , as you need to publish an English or Spanish presentation.

    Hi,
check which language is installed on your sap system using tcode SMLT
if Spanish language is not installed then you need to import it.
after that you need to specify the language whether EN - English or ES - Spanish during login.
    regards,

The calendar language is determined by system prefs/language & text/formats.
The app language is determined by system prefs/language & text/language, or you can probably use

Everyone does things a little differently. I love to "jam " along with iTunes ( or old Lp's) . Always have. That's where/how I've learned to play .
I'm sure leonieDF is giving a proper way to jam along on a keyboard with an iTune. He blows my mind all the time with what he knows. Nuff respects to him !
What I do is make a GB project I call "Jam With". I'll make several new tracks that are blank. Just has a few instruments named in the blank tracks. You can change those per song ...
Because I'm not concerned about changing the pitch / key.... of the iTune or the tempo ... I can simply play along with it.

  • HT5449 In my iPad I can easily switch languages by hitting the world icon.   I have it set up to switch betwee english and spanish.  I can use both in  one document.   Is there any way to do this on the mAC other than go to system preferences?

When I am dictating on my ipad, I can switch back and forth between languages by clicking the world icon.  On the MAC it seems as though I have to go to system preferences and switch language there.   That is a little cumbersome,  Is there a way of switching on the MAC?

System Preferences/Language & Text/Input Sources - Select the languages you want and then Show Input menu in menu bar. This allows you to switch back and forth from the menu bar.

  • Proposal to extend dialer functionality (english and other language for T9 search in dialer)

    Hello.
Here is a proposal to extend functionality of dialer.
In current version T9 dialer language is set to english (always) + some other language (optional ONLY IF menu's language is different fron english).
    For example.
Menu language - english, dialer T9 - english.
Menu language - russian, dialer T9 - english + russian,
Please add possibility to choose language for T9 dialer with menu's language set to english. It is usual option to other dialers.
I want to use english language for phone, but i need both english and russian for T9 dialer.
You need just to add option to dialer's preferences to add T9 language independently to menu's language.
Can you do it in further updates?
    Thanks.

There is no settings for this as standard in the phone.
I will pass your feedback on internally.
For more information about language specific questions I suggest that you contact your local support:

  • News available in English and Spanish

We are long time users of the EP5 and now EP6. We are very much a bilingual company (English/Spanish) and have the following problems and are looking for solutions.
we need to have the news generated in the portal available in English or Spanish.
Currently the people who write up the news write the articles in English and in Spanish, i.e. essentially two different news items.  We know you can link news items to profiles BUT we need to link the news items to portal language.  Any ideas?
Ideally we would like to have quick-polls available in both languages, ie, depending on the language of the portal the user is presented with the same quick-poll but in the relevant language. Any ideas?

    Hi Sergio,
i18n isn't supported within the standard KM framework. In our business package easyWCM - http://www.easywcm.com - we have added this among other features (the main feature is: you only set the easyWCM iView into the PCD and do not give the concrete path as for navigation / news iViews, but this is done generically by the iView itself). It automatically takes the portal user language and switched between corresponding folders; in addition, it determins if the user is an editor or an end-user, so having the rights to edit/create news (or not).
    Hope it helps

  • English and Korean language support, buying in Korea?

The guy in the mac store told me all the macs can switch between Korean and English or whatever language. Are the operating systems the same but just selected for a main language? Would I be better to order one online from Canada or US? I do sometimes type in Korean and would like to have mainly an English system with the ability to toggle between typing English and Korean (hangeul) characters. If I buy in Korea the keys will actually have the hangeul characters on them, which is a bonus, but I'd like to know the operating system is the same and that I'll have no problems. I don't want all my menu's in Korean or nothing like that.
Also from what I've read I am thinking it would come with Leopard. Am I right or should I have posted this in a different forum?

OS X is the same no matter where it is sold and can switch among the 18 languages listed in its tech specs by simply changing preferences settings.
    http://www.apple.com/macosx/techspecs/
Regardless of the language of the OS, the user can select dozens of input keyboards separately via different preference settings. This includes 5 or 6 Korean input methods.

  • Displaying English and ARABIC language on a smartform?

    Hi All,
Hi Folks, I have an issue printing two different languages on a smartform; I should print English and One more language of ARABIC style (RIGHT TO LEFT). In Debugging mode i could see the Arabic Text exactly in the format which i have entered but when i print it takes the other way.
For Ex: ABCD - (Fyi - this is of Arabic Language dialect)
    o/p: ( i m getting) DCBA
i tried with Text Include n Text Element during debugging i could see the data as DCBA but when i print the system (MS Tools - Word) are recognising the Language is of Arabic and its automatically changing the cursor position to the end ((**I found this in XML Format of Smartform)). so the form is printing from the new cursor position i.e A; and its displaying the output as ABCD.
Note: I have no problem with List, Screen Etc. except "Form".
Please Advice me. Thanks in Advance.

    Shekher,
Check the printer device type you are using.
For printing the Arabic output you need the printer defined using ZARSWIN device type. Ask the Basis consultant to do the same.
    Regards..

  • English and French languages

Can anyone tell me how I can setup the form to allow a choice of language they can fill out the form in prior to submitting it?  Thank-You.  Sparky131

Support for multiple languages in a single form is not something that is supported.  You could use the show/hide functionality to expose fields with the user's language choice, but all date, number, currency settings will be wrong for one language.  The spell checker will also only be correct for the form's chosen language (not the user's chosen language).  The alternative would be to create your form in one language, duplicate the form and set the language to another language and then hand craft your email invitation and place links to both forms with an explanation that one is for English and the other for French.

  • HT5557 I would like to link French-English, Italian-English, German-English, and Spanish-English dictionaries to my iBooks app. The default dictionaries are inadequate. Any hope for me?

This question applies to Mac, iPhone, and iPad.
The foreign language dictionaries supplied by Apple are inadequate, depending on knowledge of the language, either too limited (for me in Italian) or too difficult
(for my level of German). I need better single language and dual language dictionaries linked to my iBooks reading app.
    Any scholarly hacks? Work-arounds? Thanks.

For iOS it's not possible.  For OS X, see

  • How do I switch through the English and Spanish keyboards on my ipod touch while I am typing instead of stopping and going into settings?

I went into settings and added the Spanish keyboard on to my ipod touch. But here's the thing. If I have the keyboard in English, while I am typing I can't use any Spanish because it wants to correct all my words and turn them into English words, and this happens vice versa when typing in Spanish and it makes corrections in English. When I type I am constantly switching back and forth between Spanish and English. Is there any way to change the keyboard language while I am at the typing screen? For example on my Samsung Galaxy 4g, all I have to do when I want to switch languages is swipe my finger on the space bar key from left to right. That way I don't have to stop writing, go into the phone settings and find the language and switch it, slowing me down considerably because I would have to stop every few minutes.  Is there no way to do something like this on my ipod touch??
    Sarita

Use the Globe key.  Hold it down and you will get a list, or just hit it to switch.
The Globe key should appear if you have more than one keyboard chosen in settings.
