Merge BQYs to a Single Dashboard

<p>I am trying to create a dashboard on top of 2 different bqyfiles two different people made with the same tables. Is there away I can either merge the 2 bqy files so I can just put a singleintegrated dashboard in one place or is there a way I can create anew file with the dashboards in them and link it to the other twobqy files?</p><p> </p><p>Thanks So much!</p>

The Dashboard Studio module of BI+ includes a Merge Utility that allows you to combine sections from two or more BQY files to create a single BQY file. <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://dev.hyperion.com/products/s9_interactive_reporting/dashboard_studio_9.cfm">http://dev.hyperion.com/produc...ashboard_studio_9.cfm</a><BR><BR>If you have the Dashboard Development Services module, launch Dashboard Studio and click the Launch Merge button. • Acrobat Pro 9: "Merge files into a single pdf" creates blank pages

I have a similar problem as a previous post (which hasn't been answered).
I am able to pdf individual Word documents fine, but when I try to Combine > Merge files into a single pdf, the resulting pdf pages are all blank. I don't receive any error messages or have problems saving the file.
I am using Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 (9.5.1) on Windows 7.
The merging of pdf's hasn't worked at all since I installed the program.
Any help would be much appreciated.

    Hi Bill
Thanks so very much - you have solved the problem.
I tried Document > Insert Pages and that worked.
I then ran the "Repair" feature on Adobe which installed a few updates and I am now also able to merge pdf's by using the "Combine" feature and all the pages show the text/info.
Thanks again for your help, it is very much appreciated.
Thank you also to Apoorv for your assistance.

  • Open the "Merge Files into a Single PDF" utility via script or exe?

    Greetings:
I'm trying to find a method to open the Merge Files into a Single PDF utilty without opening Acrobat first.  Does anyone have some example code on how to open this dialog window?  It doesn't matter what language it is in, I can do the legwork to translate it to something I can understand.
Ideally, I'd like to open the combine/merge window through an EXE or VBScript and pass it a handful of filenames that would appear in the programs list to process.
Any help would be *GREATLY* appreciated.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
As far as I am aware it is not possible to pass a list of files to this dialog using any API in Acrobat.
You could however create your own VB .net application that has a mutli file select dialog box and the use the JSObject to merge all those files and open the resultant file in Acrobat.
There are samples in the Acrobat SDK that show how to use the JSObject and the JavaScript function you could use to perform the merge are in the SDK documentation, I would start with investigating "insertPages".
Please note that using the Acrobat SDK requires the Acrobat program to be installed and it will also need to be running in order to convert the files.
    Hope this helps

    Hi,
    That's called Pivoting . The forum FAQ has a section on this subject: {message:id=9360005}
I hope this answers your question.
If not, post your best attempt, along with a little sample data (CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements, relevant columns only), and also post the results you want from that data. (You did post the results you wanted, but they're very hard to read because they're not formatted. Use \ tags, as described in the forum FAQ, below.)
Explain, using specific examples, how you get the results you want from the data given.
Always say which version of Oracle you're using (e.g., 11.2.0.2.0).  This is always important, but especially so with pivots.
    See the forum FAQ {message:id=9360002}

  • Dashboard builder vs single dashboard

Hi all, can someone please tell me whats the difference between Dashboard builder, single dash board.
I have access to single dashboard. What features does it provide other than accomodating multiple reports.
    Regards

Dashboard Builder is some module comes with the EPM , Enterprise Performance Manager, which allows you to create corporate dashboards, add analytics web pages,,, etc
which is also different in its navigation and developing more than the single dashboards,
the single dashboards its just like you create one page using the infoview, and you put some shortcut for you reports on it.
    good luck

  • How to merge calendar month dimension on dashboard??

    Hi All
can anyone get me solution for below issue?
    Report : Vendor Performance
    Reporting tool : Dashboard
    Selection : Vendor1
Requirement : Should show the report as you see in pic 1
    1. I have three different KPI's which has to be shown in same table like u see in Pic 1 and each KPI values comes from different queries.
    2. When i map this data to excel i am getting values as you see in Pic 2, Pic 3 and Pic 4.
    3. if you see Pic 1 (data comes from query 1)  there is data for JAN where as we dont have JAN data for Pic 2( or query 2).
Now my question is how we can combine all this values as we see in Pic 1?.. I need all values to be shown for respective month. for example if there is no data for march and it should be blank.
Can it be done on BW side if not in BO?\
Note : I am able to done this on webi report by merging calendar month for all three query.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Vijay
It can be on BW side also. Check with your BW team if all three queries are built on different infoproviders if yes built a multiprovider on top of all infoproviders and create a new query. This query will have calendar month and your KPI1, KPI 2 and KPI3 key figures in it.
You can use this single query in Dashboard now.
As suggested by others you can use webi merged dimension functionality or HLOOKUP also.
    Regards
    Shabnam

  • Merging two Queries in single crystal report lauout

    Hi All,
I need to show two reports from two different BEx queries in a single crystal report layout. The queries are independent of each onther and having their selection variables. I have implemented two subreports for two queries in a main report. Now the problem i am facing is, though both the queries are having same slection(Profit Centre and Fiscal Per/Year), they are getting repeated in crystal report parameter screen. I have to enter the values for selections for each report.
Is there any method to merge the selections for both reports if they are same, so that i can enter the selections only once?
    Thanks in Adv,
    Shubhramukta.

    Hi,
I have two queries in BEx having Selections. Query 1 is having selections (Profit centre and Fiscal Per/Yr) and query 2 is having same selections as well(i.e. Profit centre and Fiscal Per/Yr). I have created two reports corresponding to these queries have used as subreports in a main report using Crystal report 2008. When i run the main Crystal report, it automatically prompts for values to be entered, as variables are set at BEx query level.
Though both the reports are having same selection variables, crystal report asks to enter values two times , once for each report, and it is obvious.
    Parameters are Crystal parameters.
Is there any method to merge the parameters,is selection variables are same, so that it will ask only once?
    Thanks

  • Error message when trying to merge multiple files into single PDF file

Greetings! I'm on windows 7 professional, adobe 9 pro and a 64 bit PC. When I try to merge several PDF files from the same folder into a single PDF file I get this error message "You can choose multiple items only if they are all located in the same folder" - Please help! Thx.

The product is Acrobat, not Adobe. That being said, I suspect you may only be running AA 9.0 and that may be the issue. If you have not done the updates to the 9.5.5, you probably should. That may fix the issue you are having, particularly since you mentioned a 64-bit system.

  • Merge form responses into single pdf

I have 30 form responses and would like to combine them into a single pdf.  When I use the Merge Files Into Single PDF feature, the forms are combined into a single pdf, but the first form is duplicated 30 times.  In other words, the form fields on the other 29 forms are replaced with the data from the first form.  Can multiple form responses be combined into a singe pdf and the data be retained for each form?

It is a bit late but I recently came across the same issue with combining mutliple PDF forms for which form fields have identical names. For example 100 people fill out the same PDF form and you need to combine them into one.
I beleive you need to have Acrobat Pro
    1. File > Export > Export Multiple (This brings a dialog up where you can drag and drop a group of files.)
    2. Click OK
    3. Select EPS (Encapsulated PostScript)
    4. Click OK (Now you have .eps files of each PDF)
    5. Advanced > Print Production > Acrobat Distiller
    6. Select Standard
    7. Drag all the EPS files into Distiller
PS - If anyone has a better solution please let me know!

  • Password required to merge files into a single PDF - why?

I use a registered copy of Acrobat Professional version 8 on my desktop
I routinely download official Adobe upgrades when prompted
I have attempted twice this morning to merge multiple files (in one case two PDF's, in the second a PDF + a JPEG file) into a single PDF.
I do this frequently to manage documents (I'm responsible for maintaining the company's technical file) more efficiently.
Now Acrobat is asking me for a password if I want to merge the documents into a single PDF but none of the documents involved have passwords!
Alternatively I am allowed to combine multiple files into what is called a "PDF Package" without using a password.
I much prefer using the single PDF document option
Why am I being prompted to provide a password when one does not exist - I created the original PDF's in the first place!
Please advise how I can solve this very annoying problem

If I use either of the create or combine file functions at the point in the process where the files have been added and a summary of the files is presented, above the summary, two options are offered.
The first one I am used to - it says merge the files into a single PDF
The second option is to merge the files into what is called a "PDF Package"
I want to use the first option but a warning sign is also present at this stage, informing me that I need a password to use the first option.
If I use the second option I don't need the password.
This change has only appeared today - I am assuming as the result of downloading and installing an official Adobe update - nothing else has changed.
    Hope this info helps
I am running on Windows XP
Thanks for any advice you can offer

  • Problems merging files into a single PDF

    Hello,
I have a problem whenever I merge multiple files to one PDF.
Sometimes the files with smaller images simply lump together onto one page!
For example, if I merge three files... an 8 1/2" x 11" and two business cards,
I'll get the 8 1/2" x 11" on the first page, but the two business cards lump
together on the second page, when I want them separated onto
    page two and three.
How do I tell Acrobat exactly where I want the files to go when it merges them?
    Thank you!!

    Thank you,
What happened is, when I told it to create single PDF document from the three images, it behaved as if it made a three page document, by representing each image (including the two business cards)
in the page view column as a separate page. (good)
So it showed there, that I had created three pages, and you could click on any one of them in the pages panel column
But the view of the three images was on two pages, regardless of which page you clicked on in the page view column
The two business cards are, technically, thrown together on page two.
If you clicked on page two or three in the page view column, (either business card) you got the same view on "page two", which was one page with the two business cards on it.

  • Merge jpgs into a single pdf, but page dimensions? how to set...?

I have merged a number of jpgs into a single pdf but for some reason it ends up being a strange page dimension - 23.6 in x 30.6 in. The jpgs were saved at a resolution so that they might print an 8.5 x 11 at 200 dpi. Is there a place you can set  these dimensions? I know it is quite easy to still make it print on a letter sized sheet but the ppl who I am sending the dosument to might be thrown off by the dimensions.

I had a difficult time finding the answer on the web.  Finally found a forum with my answer to share with others facing the same issue.  Last entry worked for me.
