Problem in WebI reports in a single dashboard

Hi All,
How many WebI reports we can display in a single dashboard, and what should we do to increase them without error.
Now, Our dashboard consist of 7 WebI reports, each of them have a link (OpenDoc) to open WebI in new window.
After a link have been clicked, then we open another dashboard tab, there are error message appears like this...

Problem scheduling webi reports with XI3.1 pending forever

Hello,
I've got a problem scheduling webi reports with XI3.1 scheduler.
After confiming scheduling job (loggin in with "administrator" user), status remains "pending" forever(using Infoview or CMC).
I tried different job recurrence a modalities (attachment formats, destination user etc).
I also try to add (-javaArgs "Xmx900m,Xincgc,server") wich is the SAP solution found on its portal but it does not work.
I use BO XI 3.1 in Windows 2003 server, after the install I reduced the maximum memory of Java in the tomcat 5.5.2 server from 1024 to 512 because the server never started with the initial size.
Please I need Help.

I applied this solution and now everything works fine !!
I just add this -javaArgs "Xmx900m,Xincgc,server" in the command line of the server

Symptom
Scheduled WebIntelligence reports remain stuck in 'pending' status after installing Microsoft windows patches of April 2009. Restarting the Adaptive Job Server, Central Management Server or Server Intelligence Agent has no effect.
The Event Viewer logs show the following entry: Unable to start the sub-process (Job Server Child). Cause : Couldn't get IJob interface or writing IAudit: Pipe exception. Reason: jobserverchild (WebIJavaSchedulingService ReplicationSchedulingService, 0, Timeout waiting for Child [4716] to register ([120]seconds).
Reproducing the Issue
Install Business Objects Enterprise XI 3.x on a French Windows 2003 SP2 32bits server
Install the following Microsoft windows update patches of April 2009:
KB923561, KB925336, KB952004, KB956572, KB959426, KB960225, KB960803, KB961373, KB967715
Schedule a WebIntelligence report
The report remains in Pending status
Business Objects Enterprise XI 3.1
Windows 2003 SP2 32bit (French)
Microsoft windows patches of April 2009
Cause
With Microsoft windows patches of April 2009, the maximum Heap Size for java processes has been reduced to under 1000MB.
Resolution
Apply the following steps to fix the issue:
Launch the Central Management Console
Select Servers
Right click on <server_name>.Adaptive Job Server and select Properties
Add the switch -javaArgs "Xmx900m,Xincgc,server" in the command line of the server
Click on Save and Close
Restart the <server_name>.Adaptive Job Server

Problem in WEBI Report with PCM OLAP Universe (PCM MDX Connector)

We need to create reports in Web Intelligence from our PCM Models (Business Objects Profitability and Cost Management). We are able to create the olap universe using PCM MDX Connector and we have no problems creating the reports in webi. The problem is when we execute the report (run query): all the data from PCM model is loaded correctly (dimensions, levels, etc.), except the Measures. I mean, the values of all the measures are always zero (0). No matter the way we change the query (adding filters, adding or chopping dimensions, drilling levels, etc.) the value for every measure is zero.
We've checked the aggretation method of each measure in BO universe designer and are all correctly configured.
The model in PCM is calculated and even when we run the queries in PCM Model Builder tool directly to the model, the results are retrieved Ok and the measures have correct values (Revenue, lineitem values, etc.).
Any ideas of what is going on?

The reports we are creating of PCM are not from BW universes, but PCM OLAP Universes. PCM have its own cube OLAP files, and BO universes for those OLAP models use the Business Objects PCM MDX Driver.
Nevertheless I will try to catch the MDX statement, as you suggest, and see if something is wrong with it.
The versions we have are: “Business Objects Enterprise 12.3 build 601” and “Business Objects Profitability and Cost Management (PCM) 7.5.11”

Format/justification problem in web reports

Hi ,
We are running the reports3.0 from forms5.0 using the run
product. The application is web enabled using the developer 2000
server.
The text in the report is Justifed ( Left and right
justification). If I run the reports with the destination type as
screen it is displaying with left and right justification. If the
Destination type is printer then the reports justification is not
correct( It is coming with no justification ).
The developer 2000 is 2.1 version and developer 2000 server is
also 2.1 version.
Any one of you has faced this problem.Please reply ASAP.

There is no standard way to do it.
You can manually use javascripting to create custom hover boxes.
You will have to understand the way HTML generates (it has flat image and AREA maps which isolate the areas of flag image w/ coordinates). Then enhance the AREA maps to override the standard hover boxes.
If you know javascript very well then you can use even available javascript frameworks to get highly customizable hover boxes. But it will involve considerable effort.

Printing problem in Web report (PDF)

Hi All,
I have got a report in 6i, which is running fine on web as PDF file. But when i give print command to that report, it throws an error 'Could not start print Job'. This message comes from 'Adobe Reader'.
Please guide me to resolve this problem.

1. Save the report to hard drive & then give print out.
2. Reduce the length of URL less then 254 it will work

PROBLEMS WITH WEBI REPORTING FORM BW DATASOURCE

Hi Experts,
We need some help here !
I installed BOXI 3.1 with SAP Integration Kit, also Installed transports on SAP BW 7 following the installation guide, OS= Solaris 10 . We already put all the authorizations as the documentation says, and started to make a universe on a top a BEx Queries and directly on top Infocube, the universe is generated automatically OK ! , in both cases.
Then we export them and publish them OK, but here is the issue: When we try to create a simple report with no more than tow dimensions and one ratio, the report don´t data returns at all !
Could be an Autorizations issue ? Transports ? SAP Integration Kit Issue??

Hi Hugo,
can you provide the calculation the ratio you mentioned? I assume we are talking about a calculated figure on SAP BW or a formula added in the Query designer. If you have access to the individual components of the calculation in the universe, just try to build a simple report only with those and see if data are displayed.
Furthermore would be great to check what happens when you let the query run in the SAP BW query designer. Do you have at least on entry (dimension) in the Rows section and at least the ratio in the columns section there? Do get data displayed when you let the query run in BEx Analyser for the same parameter set that you are using in your WebI?
I also may be helpful to know which support package is currently installed on your SAP BI system.

Problem Exporting Webi report to Excel in Edit mode

I have posted this question on BOB forum [http://forumtopics.org/busobj/viewtopic.php?t=189429&sid=8539bfcc4dbbf782ba1a9950085373ed] and found no response so I am cross posting here.
I have two environments: Enterprise XI 3.1 SP2 and Enterprise XI 3.1 SP3 FP3.6. On both instances when I open reports in web intelligence and try to export it to excel (using Save to my computer as Excel) I will get a "file download" dialog box asking me if I want to open, save or cancel. However when I am in Edit mode I get the same options to save/open only in the first instance(SP2), what I get in sp3 is a somewhat different "save docuemnt" dialog box (with a save as type all files not explicitly excel), doesnt allow users to open at all. I need your help to get the file download option to open/save when i export reports to excel in the second instance too. BTW it works fine for PDF export.

Problems in WebI reports

Hi all,
QUESTION 1: When we create queries in webi by selecting objects in the right hand side panel, there is a tab called "SQL" in the tool bar beside "Add Query" tab. So can anybody explain me exactly for what purpose this tab is there?
I am unable to find it as it is always disabled.
QUESTION 2: Can anybody explain me with example the use of merge dimensions?

Q1 : Add Query is to add new data provider to your report, which can be on any Universe.
Q2: Merge Dimension - which is used to merge data from different data providers.
        Ex: If you have two data providers ( Query 1 & Query 2) with One dimension (Year) and one measure ( Revenue) in both with data as below.
Query 1 data :
Year         Revenue
2008         10000
Query 2 data :
Year         Revenue
2009         20000
You can merge dimension 'year' and use the merged dimension feild in you report template to get both the rows.Like below.
Year         Revenue
2008         10000
2009         20000

A strange problem of web report

When I browse a report on the webpage, I find once I click a field of the report, the browser will be frozen, I have to close the browser window since it has no response.
I also find it will appear if the report has many fields(ie, the number of columns >6).
why? I'm confused.

Is it a HTML report, a JSP report, or a PDF report? If it's a PDF report, it's more likely to be a problem of Acrobat plug-in. In that case, you may want to reinstall/update your plugin and try again.

Open the WebI report from Xcelsius dashboard

Hi All,
I would like to know how to open the WebI report from the xcelsius dashboard.
Looking at the previous posts I followed the following steps to implement the same but that is not working.
Inserted the component URL button and used the folowing link:
http://servername/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?sType=wid&sIDType=XXX
But this is givingerre: " Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage"
Also, tried the copying the reprot link, but that is opening the Infoview login page.
I want the report to opened when we click the URL button.
Could someone please provide me a solution.

did you try passing the iDocID parameter? When prompted did you try to login to InfoView and check whether Report gets displayed?
Ideally the URL should be as below:
[http://<server>:<port>/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?iDocID=<cuid_of_the_document>]
If you want to bypass the logon screen,you need to modify the OpenDocument.jsp to pass logon token to the above URL i.e.token=+token where the +token is being retrieved by sdk.

How to connect Already created WebI reports with Xcelsius Dashboards

HI Experts,
My requirement it to bring data from already in use WebI reports to a consolidated Dashboard. I am aware of connecting universe with Dashboard with the help of QaaWS.
Is there is any other way that we can connect our dashboard?
We are thinking to publish those dashboards on the SAP Enterprise BI Portal.

Hi,
One can connect WebI reports with Xcelsius dashboards in 3 ways:
1. Using QaaWS : connects universe with Dashboard. Dashboard uses the WSDL link to get data that works on SOAP (that works on exchanging web structures).
2. Using Live Office Connection: With the help of Live Office one can connect the WebI reports directly. One can take advantage of the scheduled instances of the WebI reports. So it is good for time consuming reports.
3. Using BI Web Services: Here custom web services are created of intended report instances. Publication is done from CMS side.
after that WSDL is used as any other web services.

Is it possible to have a common prompt on the Dashboard. Which passes these variables/prompts to other WEBI reports show on the dashboard
Most of the financial WEBI reports have common prompt (year and period)
If I select or enter two common prompt can this be passed to all the webi reports shown on that DashBoard.

Hi,
You cannot achieve this using WEBI alone. You will have to use Xcelsius with WEBI to achieve this. In XI R3.1 you can use the content linking feature on the dashboard to link a Xcelsius Analytic with multiple WEBi reports. You just need to pass prompts to the Xcelsius Analytic and all the corresonding reports will recieve that value. There are several possibilities with this and i have just stated one. Hope that helps.

Setting the HTML Web Reports encoding to UTF-8

Hi,
We have a problem with web reports (Reports6i with 9ias r1) showing some characters wrong(like the pound/yen symbols). The whole system (database and reports server) runs in UTF-8 characterset, but the web reports dont set any "ecoding=UTF-8" tags in the header section of the generated HTML .. so the users browser doesn't display the html correctly (unless he switches the browser from "Western European" to UTF-8 encoding himself).
Any way we can force this? i didn't found any way on setting the UTF-8 tag in the report?!

OK. I think I can answer your question. You can change the Apache settings into UTF8 of your Apache Web Server in which you deploy your reports.

Web reports password

Hi everybody.
I have a problem with web reports. In the web reports page I have a link with information about each report. The problem that Im having is that every time the user clicks on tthis link, it asks them for their password again. This link is in ppt form, and is in a server. The user enters their password whenever they access the reports page, and then they have to type it again to access those links. Does anybod know how to avoid this?? thank you

NO. Dont hard code uid/pwd for this scenario. what you require is SSO2 to be enabled. What it does is, it will as for uid/pwd for the first time during the browser session. after that it will remember authentication information till the browser is closed. that means within the same browser session for each link click it wont ask you to authenticate.
how to enable.
go to transaction RZ10 (you may not have authorization - this is generally done by basis people)
and maintain the following profile parameters (instance)
login/accept_sso2_ticket = 1
login/create_sso2_ticket = 1
after this is done. the application server needs to be restarted. and then run bsp page system/sso2test.htm to check whether its configured properly.
Now try your application.

Business Objects Webi Report looks at the wrong universe

Hi,
Problem: A Webi Report that is believed to be running off Universe A in Dev A Environment no longer works because for an unknown reason it is trying to run off Universe A (same name different version) in Dev B Environment where most of the objects do not exist.
Universe A has not been changed in either Environments. Reports were working yesterday but not today (reports were not changed too).
Any ideas what may have caused this? The only way we were able to find out that it was using the wrong universe was when we checked the Universe in the properties of the Query.

in the above senario, how can a WebI report automatically catch Bad Universe. (we cannot save 2 universes of same name in one folder). So how the above senario happned.
