Hai All,
My Scenario is Two Companies are going to Merge as one Company. How to Do the Merging in SAP.
Is there any methodolgy or Steps to follow.How the Reassisgments are doing in SAP.

Hi,
This is related to Merging of Two Companies in SAP in CRM Perspective.
You can approach the problem in the following way:
1. Create a function module which can accept two parameters a) Parent Company and b) Child Company
2. Now get all the activities of the child company by entering the partner number of the child company and the OBJECT_TYPE = 'BUS2000126' in the table CRMD_ORDER_INDEX.
3. Call the function module BAPI_ACTIVITYCRM_CHANGEMULTI and change the partner of all the activities to the partner number of the parent company.
4. Call BAPI_ACTIVITYCRM_SAVE and then BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT.
Follow the same procedure for reassigning the contact details of the child company to the parent company. You will have to use different set of function modules here.
After reassgning all the details to the parent company delete the child company using the function module BUP_BUPA_DELETE.

Another Example of merging Project:
The Merger project involved three diferent companies from two different countries. When you merge HR you should pay attention to following:
=> Define the complete enterprise structure that covers the business requirements: Company codes, Personal Area, Personal Subarea, Employee group, Employee subgroup and payroll area.
HOW to define the enterprise structure:
=> Analyse the business requirements from the 6 companies:
1. Will the FI/CO be treated as an entities per company. This determines how many company codes and payroll areas will be needed;
2. Number of payroll areas is also determined if the 6 companies are from different countries, if the salary dates will be differents and if there are diferent payment periods;
3. Time management requirements. Are there rules that are applicable only to certain group of employees? For example: Overtime payment is only for employees in the plant. Offices workers earn additional rest hours when they work overtime, etc...
4. Payroll requirements. The salary structure are different for a different group of employees? For example: Expatriates salaries has an host and home componenet on there salary with diferent tax implications. When the local employees do not have that split.
Answers to 3. and 4. will determine the Number and structure of personal area/subarea and employee group/subgroup...

    There is no straight forward transaction to download the Configuration data and export it to a file.
    However, you can use the BC set functionality to extract the IMG node with its contents.
    Check the following  SAP help portal link for more info on BC sets
    Business Configuration Sets (BC-CUS) - SAP Library
    The archive data that you are talking about; Is it master data or transaction data?
    Also, what this data is related to-Financial Documents, Billing related info?
    There is one standard transaction SARA through which based on the migration object you can archive the data and export it into a file in a particular location..

  • Creation of shortend Fiscal year for the Merger of two Companies.

    Company 'A'is getting Merged with the Company 'B' on 15th February 2010. Company 'A' is suppose to submit all the financial details to the Company 'B' on 15th February 2010, furthermore the users with the Company 'A' should not be allowed to post any transactions after 15th February 2010.(Max they should be given 10 days grace period for closing the financial year)
    The current fiscal year for the Company 'A' is from April to March. However, as per the above mentioned scenario it is required to have fiscal year from April to February.i.e. a shortened fiscal year.
    Please note that Company 'A' is using the version 4.7.
    Steps we have already proceeded with
    1. we created a Shortened fiscal year "Z1"from April to Feb 2010 (Monthly basis) wherein we have taken only 15 days for the month of Feb 2010.
    2. we have created an another Shortened fiscal year(weekly basis) wherein we have taken six weeks as posting period.
    3.We assigned the Fiscal year Variant to the company code.
    4.After assigning when we want to check the details of the assets in the Asset explorer AW01N.the system is reflecting an error "
    SYST: Error when calculating first day in fiscal period   > F1
    Message no. AA654
    Please provide us with the solution for the above mentioned scenario.

  • Question about merging 2 Companies in SAP

    Hi,
    our client wants to merge 2 Companies, the company that is going to disapiar is not in SAP.
    Our approach is to post the account balances and movements into SAP posting them in the SAP Co.COde, ant that is fine, the problem is that they want to get all the legal reporting (P&L, Balance Sheet...) separately for both companies in SAP.
    We think that we could cover that requirement doing:
    1. posting the merged company documents with and specific Doc. type. But we think that a lot of legal reports cannot be filtered/selected using Doc.type. It seems no to work.
    2. the other thing that we have thought is to use "business area", but BA was out of our blue print and we are not sure what can happen creating BA when a CoCode (in fact several CoCodes) are already in production (went live some time ago).
    I will really appreciate if someone can give me any approach about how to meet client's requirements.

    For a legal entity, you need to have separate company codes.
    If it is just the ownership of the company that is being taken over and for all other practical purpose the taken over entity shall be a separate legal entity you can create a company code for the. This is recommended, as the P&L and Balance sheet report is readily available.
    You can do a consolidation later for merging both the companies results. either through ECCS within SAP or SEM-BCS.

  • Problem with a fusion of two companies

    Hi,
    Maybe somebody can help me with my problem with implementing FICO modules in two companies which are soon going to become one company. The fusion will probably take place on 1st january, but it can be posponed as well.
    Everything is prepared to run the common mont-end closing procedures and common planning/budgeting for both companies from the 1st january.
    However, there is a great risk, that the fusion will be delayed.
    In that case I suppose it would be better to enter one separate budget for the leading company and upload the budget of the other company after the fusion takes place. These actions have influence on calculating the manufacturing cost of products. It will certainly be different before and after the fusion.
    Maybe you can advise me on this subject, wheter I should make a common budget for both companies no matter the date of fusion or make a buget in SAP only for the leading company and upload the budget of the other company after the fusion, and then recalculate the manufacturing cost of products.

    As of now the time frame is more than 7 months to the go live date of Jan 01st 2008. Definitely, you would have drawn up a project plan for executing this project.
    In my view if the project is on schedule, at this point of time we can still consider making a consolidated budget after fusion. And the project schedule should be monitored closely as the deadline is coming closer. However, if by Oct 01st 2007 the project is not on schedule and there is a likelihood of delay / postponement, the second option of having a separate budget for each company code can be considered.
    A contingency / back up should be prepared and this should be implemented if the original plan is not working out.

  • Data of two companies erased after doing a New ID

    Hello everyone,
    We are working with SAP BPC 5.1 MS. We created two companies and have been working with them for a few days (consolidation, introducing data etc.). After this, in order to change de ID of the companies we did a New ID in the administration console. The process of the dimension failed, and after that we realized that both companies have changed the ID correctly, but all the data of the companies was erased.
    Has anything similiar happened to anyone before? We have been using the 'New ID' functionality quite often and never we never had any kind problems.

    First we need to understand what was the error message.
    Of course for old id data was deleted. You will find the data into new id.
    May I ask you what was the process to change the id?
    Did you use NEW ID property from dimension?

  • 'Howto' merge (consolidate) two different BW-Systems in one?

    Hi,
    actual we have two different BW System (BW-FI/CO and BW-CRM - both Version 3.5) which are installed on an own systems (historic grown).
    Now we want reduce our administration and hardware costs and our intention is to merge (consolidate) our two BW-Systems in one - using standard SAP transport method.
    Does anyone have any experience with merge of two and more BW Systems in one?
    Does anyone have a 'Howto Paper' about this topic?

    thx a lot for your quick answer. My question was more 'merge/consolidate' of two BW-Systems as a 'System Copy'. I am trying to give you more information about our procedure:
    - we have two different BW-Systems - BW-System A and BW-System B
    - both BW-System have same Version and Support Package
    - we want to overtake ALL BW-Objects (InfoProvider, InfoObjects, Variables, etc......) from System B into System A
    - for this procedure we want use STMS (SAP Standard)
    - in second step we plan to transfer physical data from System B in to System A with Data Mart procedure (generate Export-Datsource in System B)
    Do you have (or anybody) any experience about this procedure?

    my client has two companies
    but the work is same by the both companies,he use one for one area and another one for different area.now when i create 2 databases 2 companies. but the problem is that the inventory should be managed between the 2 companies like if he don't have a product in 1 company then he can bring from other company and send it to them.but there should not be any financial transactions in this process
    any one has any idea how to link up 2 companies.

    You can use integration products like iBolt or maybe SAPs B1i to synchronise item master data. You could also write your own addon to do this. My gut feeling is that iBolt would be an expensive solution if you only want to match the item records (as you'd only be using a tiny bit of its functionality). The B1i software comes with SBO 2005A SP1 and 2007A (I'm not sure about other versions or clusters). You could try asking about using this on the following forum:

    Writing your own addon wouldn't be that difficult but obviously requires knowledge of programming using the SDK.

    - You can only sync an iPod to one iTunes library/computer. You can however, manually manage music and videos among different libraries.
    Go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Sync your iPod....>Sync You Device>Set up Syncing>Sync your device manually and follow the instructions.
    - If y wnat to switch syncing libraries/computer see:
    go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Sync your iPod....>Sync You Device>Set up Syncing>Sync your device manually and follow the instructions.

    If all the synced media like music is in the iTunes library of the second computer it is very easy.

    As long as you computer is authorized for that iTunes account, the songs will work with iTunes Match. The user does not need to be logged in on that computer.
    Husband's computer and husband's iTunes account signed in.
    Songs from wife's iTunes account on computer and computer authorized for wife's account. Songs from both will work with iTunes Match.

    Apple IDs cannot be merged. You should use your preferred Apple ID from now on, but you can still access your purchased items such as music, movies, or software using your other Apple IDs.

    You cannot merge Apple IDs but you can go to Settings > iCloud and 'Delete Account'.  When prompted to turn off documents and data, choose the only option which is Delete from my iPhone, but on the other prompt for Contacts, Calendars, etc you can choose 'Keep on my iPhone'  Then once the Account is Deleted form the iPhone, log back in with the correct Apple ID and choose Merge when prompted.  This will merge your data from this iPhone with that iCloud account effectively putting your devices on the same account.

    I recently activated an iCloud account after upgrading to an iphone5.  ICloud requires an Apple ID in the form of an email address.  My Apple ID was not an email address.  Let's say it was "JohnDoe".  So I logged onto my "JohnDoe" Apple account and tried to change the ID to my one and only email address, "[email protected]".  Well it seems that a number of years back I had already set up an Apple ID with that email address.  No problem, I used the "[email protected]" apple ID  to set up my iCloud account.  Here's the problem.  I had tons of songs, books, apps, etc. saved in a  wish list on my old "JohnDoe" apple ID.  I have a credit on it from itunes gift cards.  Plus, a few of my apple products are registered to that ID.  (My iphone5 is now registered to the "[email protected]" Apple ID.)  I want to have one Apple ID ([email protected]) with my wish list, all my products and everything linked to it.  Can I merge the two?

    You cannot merge accounts.
    You need to sign into the old account on your computer.

    You do not merge libraries.
    iDevices sync to one and only one computer.
    If you want a single library, you manually move the content from one library to another... all content will still be associated with the Apple ID it was acquired with.
