Merging separate .aspx files within dreamweaver to do tasks?

http://media.bloomu.edu/watch/?id=4fa81566ec488
The part I need help with start at 1:08.
This is for my final. I am completely stumped on how to go about this... I only know how to make separate .aspx files with separate links. Can anyone give me some help on how to essentially "merge" them to do 4 things without the user clicking anything? I'm stumped after scowering the internet for hours on end trying to figure out this seemingly simple task.

you need to use the localconnection class to communicate between swfs open at the same time by the same client.

    I just upgraded from Dreamweaver CS6 to Dreamweaver CC and now can no longer double click to open ASPX files.
    Is this something that was removed from Dreamweaver CC?
    Or, is there something I need to install or edit in order for it to work again?
    I tried adding it to the Extensions.txt file, but doesn't seem to be working unless I entered it into incorrectly.

    Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated.

    You can apply the default file association in windows. Follow http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows-vista/change-which-programs-windows-uses-by-def ault
    Also, you can try adding it in DW preferences.
    1) Go to Preferences < File Types/Editors.
    2) Click on the "+" icon on left Column and add the extension you need.
    3)  Click on the "+" icon on right column and add the Editor as Dreamweaver. Locate the Dreamweaver.exe file installed at "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Dreamweaver CC".
    4) Click on Make Primary Button and Click OK.
    5) Close DW and re-launch.
    I hope this helps

  • Controlling sound of separate html files within the same html page.

    I need to allow users to preview audio files for purchasing. I have CF pages that return records form a SQL database. Each record contains the same swf file however, each swf file points to a different mp3 for previews of different audio examples. So far, everything is working fine. My problem is that I need to be able to stop the sound from one  swf when I click to play a second swf.  The only solutions I see in Flash forums deal with loaded swf files. These are not loaded files they are separate files within a page. The question is: How do control one swf from another swf in the same page.  The following items have not worked:
    soundChannel.stop();,
    soundMixer.stopAll()
    I think my solution may be to use ExternalInterface but I am not sure where to begin with this. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

  • Templates Not Updating .ASPX Files in Dreamweaver CC

    I have website based on .ASPX pages. I have successfully used templates (.DWTs) to update .ASPX pages page in Dreamweaver versions through CS6. I installed CC and updating the templates no longer seems to update .ASPX pages. It seems I have to open each .ASPX page in the site and choose Modify > Template > Update Current Page and then save the page. Is there a better way to update the pages in the .ASPX website?
    I originally posted this in the "Develop server-side applications in Dreamweaver" form, but it was suggested that this would be a better place to post it.

    I decided, after the New Year, to migrate my clients (I support 75 websites) from Microsoft Expression Web to Dreamweaver. I bought the latest version (CC) and started my first migration of an Expression DWT to Dreamweaver. I should not have picked a site with 125 pages. I cannot believe that when I change a DWT the changes are not cascaded to the 125 linked ASPX pages. With Microsoft dropping Expression support, where in the world are we supposed to turn for a really good, modern, design platform. I'm calling Adobe to terminate my subscription as this simply will not work. I downloaded the installed the Extension Manager, installed and enabled the .ZXP files for ASP support and it still doesn't work. Really, seriously, disappointed. I was really looking forward to learning this new platform, but I'll have to stay with Microsoft Expression for now...

  • Merging separate bookmark files?

    I have different bookmarks on different Macs. Is there a way to merge the files?
    Thanks.

    Another possibility, if you won't need to edit the combined file, is to create pdfs from each document and use Automator to merge them into one pdf. Wendell's post in this thread gives very detailed instructions in the pdf he provides for download.
    EDIT Oops, sorry. Just noticed you don't have Tiger. My bad.

  • Can't merge separate PDFs into a single PDF

    I receive the following when attempting to merge separate pdf files into a single pdf file in Acrobat 8.1.2 using OS 10.5.4 on my iMac:
    At least one file in the list requires a password. The combined file will not be secured. Do you want to continue?
    I then get a message that a file in my list is protected, and Im prompted to enter a permissions password. I dont know what that is (the only password I have associated with Adobe doesnt work) or where to locate it.
    This problem has just cropped up recently, and currently I must send a list of PDFs instead of a single file.

    If the pdf is password protected, there any utilities available to
    remove the password protection. Which explains why password protection
    is not to be relied upon. If the protection is certificate based or
    server based, then removing the security is a non-trivial matter.

  • How do I enable syntax highlighting for jspf files on Dreamweaver CS6 on Windows?

    I followed the instructions (which I modified for CS6) in this posting: http://blog.metameister.com/blog/2011/04/08/open-new-file-types-and-add-syntax-highlightin g-in-dreamweaver-cs5-on-window…
    but it did not work for CS6.
    How do I enable syntax highlighting for jspf files on Dreamweaver CS6 on Windows 7?
    cheers
    Marvin in Edmonton

    Ok, I figured it out after hunting for a few hours.
    Step 1. Add the File Type
    In Dreamweaver’s toolbar:
    Select Edit > Preferences;
    under File Types / Editors, add .jspf to the line “Open in Code View:”.
    Step 2. Extensions.txt
    Add file type .jspf to the Extensions.txt files. There are two of these files:
    C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Dreamweaver CS6\en_US\Configuration
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Dreamweaver CS6\configuration
    Step 3. MMDocumentTypes.xml
    Add jspf to the MMDocumentTypes.xml files. Open this file in Notepad or Text Editor. Do not modify the Dreamweaver configuration files within Dreamweaver.
    There are three MMDocumentTypes.xml files to be modified:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Dreamweaver CS6\configuration\DocumentTypes
    C:\Users\mhaagsma\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Dreamweaver CS6\en_US\Configuration
    C:\Users\mhaagsma\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Dreamweaver CS6\en_US\Configuration\DocumentTypes\
    Step 4. Restart Dreamweaver
    Hopefully the file type will now be recognized and appear with syntax highlighting.

  • Fix for Dreamweaver CC 2014.1 JavaScript Error With All ASPX Files

    Entire morning wasted.
    Adobe's upgrade to Dreamweaver 2014 to 2014.1 on Windows 7 Professional has broken the product across the board and it no longer opens any .aspx pages correctly.  A large number of people use .NET and now we can no longer access/use these files/pages without multiple JavaScript errors.  Particularly those that have edited the MMDocumentTypes file to make the product work in the first place since they stopped supporting the users that develop in ASP.NET.
    Every time a .aspx file is now opened, the following JavaScript error is received: "While executing translateCustomControl in ExternalRenderers.html, a JavaScript error occurred.  Click 'close' and it appears again...over and over.  Our sites are all unable to open in DW because of this.  It worked fine in earlier versions of DW, including 2014.  It's only 2014.1 that broke everything.
    The fix for this:
    1. Follow instructions on this out-of-date help file: Change, add recognized file extensions | Dreamweaver
    2. (and the part that's new): The MMDocumentTypes file is located in  C:\Users\*your username*\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Dreamweaver CC\Configuration\DocumentTypes directory. Open that file and add aspx back to the <documenttype id="HTML"> declaration at the top.
    I am posting this issue here in hopes that some of the users won't waste most of the day trying to figure this out.

  • How to merge two separate Muse files into one file?

    Have 220 pages built for a website, client wants to add another 180 pages. The Muse file is already slow to load and cumbersome to work with at 220 pages, it's going to be much worse at 400 pages. Is there a way to create two separate Muse files and then merge them prior to publish (or at publish, or post-publish). The only other solution I have is to build the second batch of pages in a separate file, then copy them into the main file one by one. Is there a batch copy/paste? Is there a merge?

    Hello,
    It's not possible to merge muse files as such. The pages have to either be created in the same file or they must be copied over individually later on from the other file to this file.
    Cheers

  • In Design Data merge into separate pdf files with variable data name

    Hi all, thank you for taking the time to read this.
    Here's what I have.
    I've created a file in indesign using a 65 page document.
    With this document I've set it up to have specific data in certain areas with data merge.  I have that part setup and it works fine.
    When I go to export PDF it creates one massive pdf document with all the variable data in it.  However here is the scenario I would like.
    1. Indesign to create a separate pdf file for each record.  So in this example it would be 100 different 65 page pdfs since it should have different pdfs for each record and there are 100 records in the csv.
    2. The pdf should be named after each variable record.  For example record one says name "Joe", record 2 name "Frank".  So it should create joe.pdf, frank.pdf etc.
    How can I accomplish this?

    I don't know if this script works in CS4 or not:

  • Dreamweaver CS3 quits when opening some .aspx files

    Dreamweaver CS3 has begun suddenly quitting when opening some .aspx files - not all, just some.  Other .aspx files open just fine.  In most cases these files are virtually identical in every way from one to the next and still, one will open and the other will cause DW to crash.  This problem just started about a week ago.
    I have been running DWCS3 on the same Vista Ultimate machine for over 2 years now with Service Pack2 installed.  Apart from these few .aspx files, the program is running as it always has... perfectly.  Nothing has changed on the machine, nothing new is installed, and, as far as I know, no Windows updates have come through from MS.
    I have tried bringing the files down from the remote server to see if my local copies were somehow corrupt but... same thing.
    Any thoughts?

  • Separate pdf files

    How can I separate pages from within a single pdf file?  For example, a fax sent to my inbox as a pdf file consists of a cover sheet and the document itself.  What if I want to save the document as its own file, stripped of the cover sheet?  I have tried printing the document pages to a new pdf file, but all I get is an error log.  This is true with all the versions of Acrobat I use on various computers.  This computer uses Acrobat Standard 7.0.  I also use 8.0.  I have the same problem with all versions.  It's easy to combine files.  It must be possible to separate them as well.

    Hello there,
    I'm sorry you're having trouble. To select only specific pages of a file, try choosing File > Create PDF > Merge files into a single PDF file... You will be prompted to select the files you'd like to merge; choose only the document from which you'd like to strip the cover page. At the bottom of the dialog box, you'll see a button marked "Choose pages":
    From there, you can select only the pages that you would like to be included in the new PDF file - which is to say, all but the first page of the original.
    If you have any further questions about your Adobe Acrobat desktop software, please post them to the product-specific forum (this forum is for questions relating to Acrobat.com - www.acrobat.com - and we are not usually able to help out with questions about other products).

  • Using an .aspx file for a spry dataset

    I need to pull title data and associated links from this page (
    http://www.isurv.com/site/custom_scripts/rss_whats_new.aspx) on to a separate site where the info is displayed as latest news.
    Whilst locally I can get this to work in I.E.  no data shows in Firefox, Chrome, Safari.
    If I upload the file and supports to the site I get nothing in any browser.
    Question. Can I use an .aspx file as a source for my Spry dataset?
    If so can some one show me an example?
    here's my code:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    var ds2 = new Spry.Data.XMLDataSet("http://www.isurv.com/site/custom_scripts/rss_whats_new.aspx", "rdf:RDF/item");
    ds2.setColumnType("dc:date", "date");
    </script>
    <body>
    <div spry:region="ds2">
      <ul spry:repeatchildren="ds2">
        <li><a href="{ds2::link}">{title}</a></li>
      </ul>
    </div>
    </body

    The problem lies with the fact that XML data cannot normally be transferred from one domain to another, that is unless you are using YQL, see here http://developer.yahoo.com/yql/
    Our friend Arnaut Kazemier (V1) has written a nifty script that combines the features of Spry with that of YQL and can be found here https://github.com/3rd-Eden/Spry-YQL-DataSet. Using the YQLDataSet I have written a test page which can be found here http://pleysier.com.au/rss_example/
    However, I tried to connect to http://www.isurv.com/site/custom_scripts/rss_whats_new.aspx without the result
    Another interesting possibility can be found here http://www.linecraft.com/dreamweaver-get-external-feed/extension.php. I have not tried it yet.

  • IDCS6 MACOSX JS: Data Merging many txt files one after another

    Hello everybody.
    I have a situation where I have to data-merge many text files to the one actual indesign "base" file. The formats of the databases are all the same, the point of difference is a code in the second field of the database that refers to a mailing zone (not a zip/postcode, a "distribution centre" code that has 56 or so possibilities). I would prefer to data merge one file and then somehow split the resulting PDF via Acrobat, but the length of the resulting mailing zones is inconsistent and something that can't be done though the "split document" feature in acrobat.
    The database starts out as one massive file but using a one-line  code, can be split into its mailing zones into separate text files.
    My ultimate question: is there any way to data merge more than one file at once (e.g. one after another) and give them their names based on the names of the input text file?
    Ole Kvern had a script to Data Merge one file without the UI. I have altered the last line slightly so that it outputs to a PDF based on [High Quality Setting]:
    if(app.documents.length != 0){
            var myDocument = app.activeDocument;
            app.dataMergeOptions.removeBlankLines = true;
            //Select a source file.
            var myDataFile = File.openDialog("Select a data file")
            var exported = "file location(redacted for the sake of this post)"
            if(myDataFile != ""){
                    myDocument.dataMergeProperties.selectDataSource(myDataFile,);
                    myDocument.dataMergeProperties.exportFile(exported,"[High Quality Print]",);
    I figure the answer has to do with the variable "myDataFile" and rather than being simply open a dialog, it would be somehow selecting an array of text files, but this is where I am out of my depth.
    Any insights or other thoughts that may not involve trying to do many merges at once but may somehow revolve around one large merged PDF?
    Many thanks
    Colin

    I've answered my own question, but the answer lies outside of Adobe InDesign – it uses bookmarks within Adobe Acrobat.
    1) Data Merge the art/data to one large PDF file.
    2) In the resulting PDF file, manually search out the mailing zones and apply bookmarks to each first instance only of each mailing zone. In this case, it is a manual process of find/replace to find one of 70 possible mailing zones that may be used in any database. Each bookmark should be named with its respective code. It is a manual process, but it would take 5 minutes so this is acceptable.
    3) Using "Split Document" from the pages panel, make sure the "top level bookmarks" radio button is checked, and in the Output Options make sure that the "Use bookmark names for files" radio button is checked.
    I'm aware that this was a rather obscure question that only a fraction of users on this forum may wish to know an answer for, but hopefully this workaround helps someone else in a similar situation.
