MerpAD Database Daemon keeps turning up in my trash can

Since upgrading to Yosemite (apart from the annoying loading bar) why do I keep getting this file in my trash can that I have to delete only to find it there the next time I start up?

Someone found a solution here: MerpAD Office365  in trash and I have not used Office 365. but it doesn't work for me (the problem appeared also since upgrading to Yosemite).
The procedure was this:
1. Open application Office error reporting, the application is located in this folder
      /Library/Application Support/Microsoft/MERP2.0
2. Go in preferences
3. Uncheck enable office error reporting
I unchecked, but the file continues appearing in my trash can.

Check in your settings Eddie4502.Under General there is an item called "Auto-lock"  You can set it from 1 to 5 minutes or never.  Perhaps its set to 1 minute which isn't enought time to sneeze!  I use 5 minutes.

  • I have an iPhone 4 and have upgraded to iOS 6.  Based on posts regarding battery life after this update, I want my setting for "Use Cellular Data for" iCloud Documents to remain off.  However, it keeps turning back on...can I avoid this?

I also wanted to note that this setting goes back to On even if I have not turned off the phone...but it also does this when the phone is turned off and then back on.

I am seeing the exact same thing on iOS 6.0.1 on my iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S.
    Steps to reproduce:
In Settings:General:Celluar, check to be sure the following is off:
    iCloud Documents
    iTunes
    Passbook Updates
    Reading List
Check back to the same screen after 5 minutes (while not on Wifi) and iCloud Documents is back on.
It's burning through data like mad.
I know I could kill iCloud on my devices or turn off Cellular data, but neither is a solution.
Apple, are you aware of this? I think most people assume that users just don't know how to turn this off. That's not the case, it's coming back on by itself.

  • What is "database.sqlite3"? It's keeping me from deleting my trash.

What is "database.sqlite3"? It's keeping me from empting my trash can.

    Hello:
I have no clue how you got that on your computer - it is not installed by OS X.
    http://www.fileinfo.com/extension/sqlite3
In any event, try emptying the trash while holding the option key down.
I use a little utility called "Cocktail" for really tough trash problems (be careful if you use Cocktail, it has very powerful capabilities).

I am trying to charge my iPad but it won't charge & keeps turning itself on and off

You can try resetting your iPad by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears.
Try again to see if the problem persists.

  • Reduce Transparency keeps Turning On

    Hi all,
I'm running Yosemite on a Macbook Pro Retina (circa 2013).  I have noticed that repeatedly the accessibility setting to reduce transparency keeps turning itself on.  I can turn it off so that the transparency returns, but the reduce transparency seems to be turning itself back on again.  I've been trying to narrow down the causes, but it doesn't seem to be just one thing.  It looks like it could be the when the screensaver triggers and/or when I connect to an external monitor and/or launching a virtual machine (either using Parallels or VirtualBox).
What I'm looking for is some way to prevent this.  Either:
    a) a solution to ensure that reduced transparency stays turned off, or
    b) a solution that will turn it off repeatedly (thinking applescript that runs every 5 mins??)
Any help would be much appreciated.

I had this issue and found in another thread that the application Duet was causing this issue. I went in and changed Duet from starting at start up and this cured the issue. When I need Duet I just start in manually. Do you have Duet installed?

  • Database daemon and SyncServicesAgent won't close during MS Office Update Install

While running Microsoft Office Updater I tried to close apps that were preventing the Installer from continuing. Two apps wouldn't close: Database Daemon and SyncServicesAgent. Out of desperation rather than knowledge I ran the Disk Utility and repaired permissions. BINGO! the Installer closed the errant apps and completed its task. What is going on? I read the same advice repeatedly in this forum that repairing permissions is a waste of time. Clearly not in this case I think.

A message to quit applications occurs in Office for Mac
If you see a message to "quit the following applications"  while installing an update for Microsoft Office for Mac  (See image) , click Continue, and then quit the applications listed in the message. To quit an application, click its name on the Apple menu bar, and then click Quit <application name> or press COMMAND Q. You can also quit an application if it has an icon in the Dock by pressing the CONTROL key, clicking the icon, and then clicking Quit.
You'll also have to turn off Sync Services in Outlook. To do this, start Outlook, click Outlook > Preferences, and then choose Sync Services under Other. Uncheck all boxes and then quit Outlook.
You should now be able to install the update for Office.
NOTE The message to quit applications may also appear if you're installing Microsoft Office for Mac. Follow the same steps to quit the applications before you install Office.

  • Database Daemon

Every time i turn on my MBP, a process called Database Daemon, or at least i think, starts up automatically. It is related to Entourage, as it has the same symbol, and it is a powerPC function, and uses a good amount of resources, so anyone know why it starts up every time, and what can i do to get rid of it.
Also, what does it even do?

4 ways to turn off Microsoft Database daemon:
    1. In Entourage Menu select "Turn off Office Notifications"
    2. Double-click the Office Notifications program, located in the Microsoft Office X/Office folder. On the Office Notifications menu, click Turn Off Office Notifications.
    3. Fire up Activity Monitor, look for 'database daemon' and choose 'quit process' from the processes menu (just do a normal quit, not a forced quit).
    4. Use this script

  • How do i close microsoft database daemon and syncservicesagent to install office 2011

I am trying to install update 14.3.2 for Office 2011, but keep getting notice to close MSFT database daemon and syncservicesagent.  Can't figure out how to do this.

The easiest way is to do it using Activity Monitor, an app that it's stored on /Applications/Utilities. Just open it, search the processes that belong to "Microsoft Database Daemon" and "syncservicesagent", and kill them.
If you don't want to use Activity Monitor or you don't want headaches, another possibility is to install this Office update in safe mode, to make sure that no Office for Mac processes are opened. To start in safe mode, hold the Shift key while your computer is starting until you see the Apple logo. Then, log in your admin user, install the Office for Mac update and restart as usual

  • How do I close Microsoft Database Daemon and SyncServicesAgent

I cannot update my Microsoft software on my iMac as it keeps asking me to close Microsoft Database Daemon and SyncServicesAgent.  I cannot find out how to do this... hence I have not updated Microsoft on my iMac since I have had it. What are they for anyway?  Any help would be great - thank you.

Found an answer. Go to your Outlook, select Tools, SyncServices, untick all the boxes. Close Outloook, go to Activity Monitor and quit Microsoft Database Daemon and SyncServicesAgent. This time they'll stay closed.
Once your software update has finished go back to Outlook syncservices and retick the boxes.
Painful example of Apple and Microsoft software not talking to each other very well.

  • How can I clean all data in a database but keep all datafile still same nam

    hi,
How can I get a easy way to clean all data in a database but keep all datafiles still same name and location just like a new created database?
dbca has two choice: create templet without datafile or with all datafiles but not empty datafiles.
    thanks

What version is your database? DBCA in 10gR2 allows you to create a template from an existing database using only the structure. From DBCA
From an existing database (structure only)
The template will contain structural information about the source database including database options, tablespaces, datafiles, and initialization parameters specified in the source database. User defined schemas and thier data will not be part of the created template.

If the Office updates have to be run through Win in Parallels, there's not really a section here that covers that , because Neither Office or Parallels are Apple products. There is only a small chance that you'll find someone with BOTH your conditions who just happend to look into a forum on older iMacs.
    Parallels has a forum here:

I think you'll get a faster response there.
