Message Board task flow customization
Hi,
I am using webcenter PS3 jdeveloper 11.1.1.4.0 version.
I am creating an application in which I am using default task flow of message board-quick view in jdeveloper for a webcenter application. Now i want to customise its UI as well as functionality (for that i followed this pdf- "owcs-r11-custom-taskflow-wp-129672.pdf" ) but its of no use.
can any1 please suggest any way to do the same.
If you want full control over the UI you can create a data control out of your discussion service connection and create your own taskflows.
Just right click the discussions connection in JDeveloper and select "Create data control". The rest is just plain old ADF.

Customization usually is a challenge for developers. You can change look & feel and modify information showed.
Usually decompile and see how is printing the information can be a tip to add more information or call custom manage beans for add more functionalities.

I tried customizing Discussion service taskflow customization .Repeatedly restart Jdeveloper by switching between roles and I got work done. More than customizing in coding,try to edit in structure window , that shows a good result.

Facescontext message in a bounded task flow with a jsff
Hi,
I have a jsf page that uses a page fragment. The page fragment uses a backing bean to do some task. In the backing bean I am creating a FacesMessage and adding it to FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().
Everythign works fine and i can see the message during the runtime.
When i create a bounded task flow using that page fragment, and include that task flow onto a page, i cannot see the message anymore.
Does someone have any idea what may be going on?

does the page fragment have an af:message tag ? Since you are not refreshing the parent page, which usually holds the af:messages component, its not showing . At least this is where I see the problem coming from

How to customize the Rich Text Editor task flow in the doc lib?

You know that webcenter portal has a feature is called customizing task flow.. so we have client request to customize the Rich Text Editor task flow of the Document library. Such as disable the Format, Font, Size drop down menu of the richtext editor UI. But after I open the editHTML.jsff of the oracle.webcenter.doclib. the code is like this:

Which means that if you want to change the toolbar you have to check what is the type of toolbars the CKEditor uses, I can tell you that there are two defaults: Basic and Full and I believe the tag uses a custom toolbar called WC by default.
So if you want to change the toolbar to only show basic, change the toolbarSet property to Basic to make the final result looks like <rte:editor id="rte" value="#{pageFlowScope.rte.HTMLTextArea}" converter="#{pageFlowScope.rte.HTMLConverter}" toolbarSet="Basic" />

Error while runtime customization for task flows in jdev drop6 build 11

I am using jdev drop 6 build 11. I am trying to build a webcenter application in which I want to drag and drop task flows at runtime. I am able to add the ADF components at runtime. I am also able to expose the task flow at runtime on the UI after creating my own catalog. But if I try to add the task flow by dragging it, it gives an unhandled exception and it shows that no metadata found for metadata object for the task flow. And after this error I am not able to add the ADF components as well. It gives the same error. This is the error I get:

Hi,

Hi,
I am trying to do some customization to a SOA Approval task flow.
My requirement is, I have to present a checkbox with a message.
The user has to click the box, only then should be able to approve.
I have tried this whole tutorial with no luck

Unable to pass parameter value from a Task flow to a Portlet
Hi All,
I'm using Jdev 11.1.1.6.0 and created a simple ADF application with one Taskflow which contains one JSF page to display the User details from the default LDAP configured within the Integrated Weblogic Server. The Taskflow have one Parameter to accept the User Email Id as input. Based on the given input value, we will fetch the User details from Weblogic server and display in the JSF Page. I created a portlet out of Taskflow by "Create Portlet Entry" and deployed it onto Integrated Weblogic server.
Portlet works well when executed standalone for the given User Email Id values as input.
Then I created a webcenter Application, On a page, there is a task flow that contains a form with one input text field and one Submit button, and a portlet (that displays the User details from LDAP) that listens for user input from the form. Clicking the Submit button sends the user entered texts to the listening portlet. This is a combination of contextual events established by the producer (task flow) and the wiring of the portlet based parameters from within the consuming page definition file.
The taskflow page which contains the form with Submit button, within the page defintion file contains an event binding (submitEventBinding) and a contextual based event (submitEvent). This event is tied to the ActionListener of the commandButton.
After added both the task flow and the portlet onto a page, I have subscribed to the contextual event of the task flow, and completed the wiring of the Taskflow and Portlet events together.
But in the Form, when I enter the User Email Id in the input filed and click the Submit button, I'm getting the below error -

ADF mobile: how to link task flow to a list view item
Hi
I am trying to build a mobile app in adf and i created a popup on the left button on the header. this popup has a list view showing few options.
now the requirement is to click on the option and navigate to that feature (which is created as a task flow).
so, i am not sure how do like the task flow to the link in the listView of the popup. Please adviseWell, if that list contains all features, you can use the 'features' from the ApplicationFeatures DC (they contain the ID, name, ... so you can use #{row.id} instead of hardcoding it).
If that list does only contain a few features, you can make your own list.
In your own backing bean or data control, you can get all the features by using:

af.getFeatures();And filter them.
An example that I made/use myself:
It uses an commandLink to navigate because I need to be able to 'disable' (= not clickable) some features (it has the same look as an ListView).
So iff just use the getFeatures(), you can use the ListView for navigation.

Problem with ADF security and task flow calls
Hi.
I am using JDeveloper 11.1.2.0.0.
I encountered a problem when tried to apply ADF security to my application.
The way to reproduce the problem:
1. Create new Fusion Web Application;
2. Import Business Components from Tables from any existing schema and add at least one table to the ApplicationModule.
3. Create "welcome page" (for instance, welcome.jsf). Add a button with fixed action outcome "test".
4. Create test page, for instance, test.jsf. Drag and drop any view object from Data Controls onto the page and create a form with navigation controls. Add a button with fixed action outcome "return".
5. Create bounded task flow, name it "test", drag and drop our test page on it - the page will be the default activity. Add a task flow return activity. Add a control flow case from the default view activity to the return activity, set From Outcome property to "return". So our return button should cause the task flow to exit.
6. Open adfc-config.xml in diagram mode and place our welcome page on it. Then drag and drop the test task flow to create a task flow call activity. Add a control flow case from welcome page to task flow call activity, set the From Outcome property to "test". So our test button should call the test task flow.
7. Configure application to run the unbounded task flow starting with Welcome view activity.
At this point all works as expected: when application runs, the welcome page is displayed with test button. Pressing the test button results in displaying the test page, return button leads back to the welcome page.
Now let's configure ADF Security.
Run the ADF Security configuration wizard, choose ADF Authentication and Authorization.
On the second page select Form-Based Authentication, check the Generate Default Pages flag.
On the third page choose No Automatic Grants.
On the next page keep the Redirect Upon Successful Authentication unchecked. Press Finish.
Open jazn-data.xml to configure roles, users and resource grants:
1. Create application role test-role.
2. Grant the test-role privileges to view the test task flow.
3. Create user and grant him the test-role.
Now we have the public available welcome page and the test page with restricted access.
When application runs, the welcome page is displayed as expected. Pressing the test button redirect us to auto-generated login page. After successful authorization the test page is displayed. But nothing happens if we click now the return button for the first time. When we click the return button once more, the application crushes with Error-500 and message "Target Unreachable, identifier 'bindings' resolved to null". The exact error trace depends on UI control bindings, but looks like this:

The welcome page is public available since it does not have appropriate PageDef file.
Login page comes not from the welcome page, it comes after attempt to access the test page. So after the login succeeded the test page appears, because redirect to welcome page after successful login is not configured. I do not need to return the welcome page at this moment, I need to go to the test page.
It seems the task flow call stack to be destroyed after redirect to login page.

Adding Saved Searches task flow to a Page Template
I am trying to add the Spaces "Saved Searches" task flow to my custom page template. I have tried a few different approaches and none seem to be working.
First, I tried simply dragging and dropping the task flow from JDeveloper's Resource Palette into my template. JDeveloper created added the following to my template source code:

After uploading the changes to Spaces, there seemed to be no change to the rendered template.
Second, I tried to simply add the task flow to a page in my test space via composer. However, as soon as I click the "Add" button next to the Saved Searches task flow, the page goes blank (white screen of death) and the following message shows up in the spaces error logs:
javax.servlet.ServletException: com.sun.el.parser.ParseException: Encountered "\'" at line 1, column 65.
Finally, I looked at how the out of the box templates implement the saved searches functionality. It appears that the saved searches use a custom folder in the Default Navigation Model. I looked at the source in the Default Navigation Model and found the following node:

I copied the entire node and put it in my navigation model. Upon rendering the template, I can see the new node in the navigation but when I click on it, nothing happens.
Can someone please tell me if I am on the right track with any of these three approaches? Or where to look to diagnose the issues I am running into?

JoeUPDATE: I updated the "activation" property in the page def for the allsavedsearches task flow to be "deferred". Now I am getting an ADF popup menu with two menu items: "My Searches" and "Other Members" but clicking on the items does not trigger anything...
Any thoughts? What additional information would be helpful for analyzing this issue? -
ExecuteWithParams in adf Task flow is not executing

I have a generic page fragment(Task Flow) which accepts a parameter from the calling page, when I use it as a Region.
Based on the value of the parameter passed I have to filter the table data or I have to execute a ViewObject .
For that I used a bind variable in the View Object.
And I dragged the ExecuteWithParams from DataControl to the Fragment defenition(TaskFlow).

i am using Captcha Code, make new Task flow and fragment to be deployed on webcenter spaces, the code working correctly when am using in JDeveloper and make Run from JDeveloper, but when i deploy it on webcenter spaces and call this Task Flow from webcenter spaces the image not appear(The image using Servlet).
i am download the Captcha JAR from Oracle : http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/adf/learnmore/index-101235.html , Download Captcha an using it as Task Flow to deploy it on webcenter spaces, but as i told you when i Run this code from JDeveloper working correctly, but the problem when i deploy it on webcenter spaces the Servlet code with image not appear.

Do you see any error or warning messages in hte server log?
I don't think it's a adf or jdev problem as it runs OK using jdev. I more assume a configuration problem with webcenter spaces.

Calling a bounded task flow from an unbounded task flow
How can I navigate from an unbounded task flow to a bounded task flow....
My situation is as follows:
In the adfc-config.xml, I have a view activity ADMhome, Wildcard as well as a task-flow-call, admTaskFlow. A control flow goes from the wildcard to ADMhome while another control flow goes from the wildcard to task-flow-call.
I have a bounded task-flow "adm-task-flow" with two view actitivies: AdmListView and AdmPageView with AdmListView as the default activity. A Control flow goes from the AdmListView to AdmPageView, all pointing the page fragments
I created another page ADMregion which is a (jsf) where I dragged the adm-task-flow onto.
When I ran the application, the home page displayed properly but when I clicked on a command button to invoke the "adm-task-flow", the application will not responded.
When I looked at the log message, It gave this message:

I created a view activity in the adfc-config-xml and called the page (ADMregion) where the task flow was embedded. It worked well..
Another clarification I want is this, when do I use a task flow call to call a task flow? My thinking and my understanding was that when you create a task flow, you use a task flow call to invoke the task flow.
Pls another aspect I want you to guide me is on calling a java class from jsf and jsff pages. Being new in these technologies, I have having some difficulties navigating and putting all of them together. My problem is this:
I created a java class under the view package of Application Sources in the View Controller of my Application. The java class returns a value. I designed a jsff form with input fields and and command buttons. I want when I clicked on a command button to take a parameter from the input field and pass it to the java class, the after processing, the java class returns a value which I will place inside one of the input fields in my jsff form.
