Message cannot send if P.C was started by function module, ok for event

Hi Expert,
I face a very strange situation
As you know, we could create message for each process chain steps
I have one process chain which contains message if it is start and when it is finished
The start condtion for this process chain was after event
But the strange situation is
1. If this process chain was start by function module: RSPC_API_CHAIN_START
The message in process chain cannot be sent
2. If we trigger event for this process chain, the p.c could be execuced correctly
Could you kindly let me know the possible reason for this issue?

Root cause is the function module we use will run the process chain in dialog module (no batch job). So system cannot send the mail.
If run it in background, we could get the mail

The issue definitely sounds like your Outgoing/SMTP settings need to be changed. Simply set them to the proper settings for your provider as was suggested above.

The SMTP settings can be edited on the iPad/iPhone by going to Settings--> Mail, Contacts, Calendars, edit the account having trouble, click the Account, then at the bottom is the SMTP server info, click on it to edit it further.
It should allow you to edit the primary smtp server and let you enter all the good stuff as you see in the Knology link above.
Some providers require you to register your account on their service like AT&T.

Interesting db mail issue. If i click send test mail from sql mgmt studio, it works fine, but when i execute a SP to send a mail, it fails. One thing I noticed is that the "LastModified" column in the mail log shows the domain account when a test
mail was sent from mgmt studio, but show "sa" when the SP was used to send mail.
This is from SQL 2012, did not see this in sql 2008, looks like 2008 always used the service account. any ideas ?

Hi Ranga,
I also use SQL Server 2012. I send a test email through SQL Server Management and the last modified By “sa”.
If you used stored procedure to send a test email. Please use the command below:
EXEC msdb.dbo.sp_send_dbmail

@body = 'The stored procedure finished successfully.',
@subject = 'Automated Success Message' ;
I can both send test email through SQL Server Management Studio and SP. Make sure you have the right profile. Since you could send test mail via SQL Server Management Studio, please try again to send it via SP.

Thank you for heading me in the right direction. I reset my Mail account for Outgoing Mail Server to outbound.att.net:(customer ID)@att.net (instead of smtp.att.yahoo.com, per Apple's online troubleshooting information). I'm not sure what "(Offline)" means when it appears at the end of my Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)?? In the Advanced box I clicked on "Use custom port: 465" and checked "Use Secure Sockets Layer." Authentication: Password; I have correct User Name and Password put in. After doing all this, when I try to send emails again today, they go directly to the Outbox and sit there.
What's curious is that my first sent email this morning did go out using the Outgoing Mail Server, smtp.att.yahoo.com: (customer ID)@att.net(Offline) but subsequent emails I tried to send with this server were rejected with the message: "Cannot send message using the server smtp.att.yahoo.com (etc.). The SMTP server doesn't support TLS(SSL) on port 587. Verify your account settings and try again." That's when I tried resetting my Outgoing Mail Server to outbound.att.net (etc.), as mentioned above, and was unsuccessful in sending out any further emails. Sounds like you opened and saved it in CC, so now you need to go back to CC and either complete the project there, or export to IDML to take it back into CS6.

Error message: "Cannot send alert message to browser" on Rule Policy

Hi Experts.
Have anybody experience with the error message "Cannot send alert message to browser" on Rule Policies? The condition-check of the rule is working fine. But the error message shown appears in the web UI Similar exception on Complaints Error Message but no answer. Is it possible that the SSL settings are responsible for that error message? Any ideas? ITouch error Message Cannot send Mail.

My first generation iTouch has quite sending mail. I can receive email, but can not send. When I try to send mail I get the error message
Cannot Send Mail
The connection to the outgoing server "smtp.mac.com:jbleeg" failed.
I am using apples Mail program and have it set up as imap. When I right click on the inbox and choose Edit Imap Accout, I can see the incoming and out going settings match my ipod setting screen.
This used to work, but when apple went to this "cloud" and .me, it quit working.
I rarely send email from my iTouch so this is not a big problem, but annoying.
Any suggestions.

The other thing you might want to try on your touch is to just delete the mail account and re-enter it. This seems to fix a number of problems with e-mail when you are getting these types of errors.

I have SP 2013, and it was working properly. and workflows send emails perfectly. yesterday, i decided to build a fresh site collection so i deleted the old one and created a new one. now, workflows are unable to send emails. i'm sure it has nothing to do
with my mail server cuz no changes happened to it. i'm sure about the settings for outgoing mail on central admin. all i did, was to enter mail server IP in outgoing mail field and email below it.
in the workflow status the status says "error" followed by this message: "The e-mail message cannot be sent. Make sure the outgoing e-mail settings for the server are configured correctly."

Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you failed to send email after building a fresh site collection.
I recommend to verify that you have entered your SMTP server name correctly.
You can add it as FQDN e.g. ServerName.DomainName.

MAIL reply all to large message- "Cannot send message" how to get this to go away

I replied all to a large message and got the notification "cannot send message..." I usually press cancel or try again, but since the message was so large, I don't have access to either buttons. It won't allow me to scroll down and maximizing the message does not help. I have tried force quit and shutting down my computer, but everytime I reopen mail, the message pops up. PLEASE HELP!!!!

Hi,
I'm working offline from time to time, but Mail.app keeps generating these annoying messages saying that he "cannot send message" and that "the server cannot be contacted", after trying to send alert messages (generated by Calendar.app)
Well I know that the server cannot be contacted.. that's because I'm not connected, because I don't have an internet connection.
How can I disable these messages when I'm working offline? Quitting the Calendar and Mail.app does not work. Processes are working in the background I suppose. And choosing the "Try Later" option just suppresses the message for a while.
What can I do?

Open Activity Monitor, located in /Applications/Utilities. Make sure you have All Processes showing in the drop down in the upper right. Locate CalendarAgent (this is likely the one doing it) and Calendar (this one is the actual calendar app, so leave this one if you still want to view your calendars). Select them and click Quit Process in the upper left. That may do the trick. Opening your Calendar will reopen both processes.
If that doesn't help, you may want to repost this. Some users may not look at the thread since it was marked as solved.

Getting message cannot send mail check server setting

Trying to get email to send out, but getting a message saying cannot send...check outgoing server setting...

Do you have any other mail accounts on your iPad? If so you can select another server from the options.
Go to settings again and select Mail, Contacts, Calendars. Then select your mail account from the window on the right side. Then tap on the email address of the account to open the next window that shows the account information. Then there should be heading titled Outgoing Mail Server. You can tap the arrow to the right of the server name in that field to get to the next window that shows other servers. Try to select one from there and see if that works.
I keep forgetting about this as well. It has provided help to others.

Process code's function module required for the IDOC Message type PROACT

Hi,
I am trying to trigger an IDOC from ME32K transaction which will carry my Contract agreement details to XI. The IDOC I am using for this purpose is PROACT.PROACT01. But I couldn't find the outbound process code / Function module for the process code associated to this IDOC message type.
Pls help me out....

I checked table EDIFCT for the message type and found this:
Function module Function type Basic type Message Type
IDOC_INPUT_PROACT F PROACT01 PROACT
Oops...I think you are looking for outbound..Ignore

Message cannot send if P.C was started by function module, ok for event
