Message Gateway to MQ slow

I have a system the propagates messages to a consolidated database where the messages are transformed by the Message Gateway subscriber and placed on the foreign queue.
With the exception of the move from the AQ queue --> MQ queue using the gateway, all the queues/subscribers move the messages quickly, including the MQ queues that distribute the messages to foreign queues.
The time required to move the messages from the AQ queue, across the foreign queue to MQ is causing a backup of messages in the AQ queue - approx 1.2 million messages.
I can seem to pinpoint where the problem is occurring...(in the transformation, in the JMS, in the network?)
Any help would be appreciated,
Kevin

Thanks for the suggestions. I did setup statspack and collected statistics over a day or so. I ended up tuning the buffer cache and was able to process over 2 million messages in less that 24 hours. The queues are almost always clear now. Thanks again.

    Out of the blue, no audio playback.  Was working just fine earlier today.
    I repeatedly get the error message:
    Disk is too slow. (Prepare)
    (-10001)
    NOTE: I have more than enough disc space.  That is NOT the issue.
    I also just got a second error message:
    Part of the Project was not played
    This project has too many real instrument tracks to be played in real-time. To optimize performance, see the 'Optimizing GarageBand performance' page in GarageBand Help.
    NOTE: Odd as I have only 2 tracks in the GarageBand file.
    Any others experience this?  Suggestions?

  • Why am I getting this error message, "Disk is too slow. (Prepare) (-10001)"

    Hello all!  I've been using GarageBand for a while now and I've accumulated quite a few files.  Along with all of my movies and iTunes library, my internal hard drive filled up rapidly and I didn't catch it.  I received a warning message on my screen one day saying that my hard drive was nearly full and I only had a few MB available.  I'm using a 150 GB Solid State Hard Disk on my 2009 MacBook Pro (2.6 GHz Intel Cre 2 Duo, 4 GB of RAM).  I remembered reading a while back that it's better to use an external hard drive for pretty much everything when using Garageband, so I bought one.  I now have a seagate 500 GB, 5400 rpm external (USB 2.0) and I moved ALL of my movies and music over to it.  I freed up around 60 GB of space on my internal hard drive in doing so.
    So now that I've given you a little background, let me explain the issue I'm having.  Before I noticed that my hard drive was full, I started receiving this error message:
    Disk is too slow. (Prepare)
    (-10001)
    Upon receiving this message, I was unable to do pretty much anything in GarageBand.  I couldn't listen to tracks, export to iTunes, or do anything!  All I'm using GarageBand for is editing.  My band and I do all our recording (and mixing) offsite at a separate studio and i just deliver a 2 track stereo signal (L/R) to my MacBook.  From there, I just cut the individual tracks from a block of 30-45 minutes of recording because we just record our entire studio session and mix everything there.  I pretty much never have more than two tracks and a few effects going at the same time.
    After I realized that my disk was nearly full, I consulted my brother-in-law.  He's head of the IT Deartpment at a major hospital here in West L.A. and he told me that I may have created a problem with the cache by filling up my internal hard drive and that I may still have issues with performance even after I free up space.  He then told me that I may need to reboot my MacBook a few time to "free up the cache" (or something close to that, sorry guys I'm not that tech-savvy).  It seems he may have been right, as I'm still experiencing the same issue.  I rebooted around 10 times overall to no avail.  I'm still using my internal hard drive to store the files that I'm working on (temporarily) because USB 2.0 is way too slow for my liking, when using GarageBand.
    I've read quite a few articles on this offering solutions such as:
    1.  Do a complete Uninstall and Reinstall of GarageBand
    2.  Clone my hard drive to my external, format it, and reinstall everything back on it
    3.  Get a hard drive that supports Firewire 800 (The HDD I bought is USB 2.0, but it has two USB cables to increase speed, but I only have 1 port and I tried      a powered USB Hub, but this HDD won't work with it for some reason).
    4.  Use different editing software.
    5.  Take it to Apple!
    Will any of these things fix my problem?  Are some better than others?  Before I do anything, I wanted to ask this question on the furum to see if anybody had an easier (or cheaper!) solution.  Any suggestions, tips, or advice would be much appreciated, as my band is starting to get on my case about finishing our CD!  Thanks...

    XI message processing is very slow.I did everything in tuning guide, but it is still very slow.
    I executed <b>DB13-->Check and update optimizer statistics</b>

    Hi,
    I got this working finally. All of the issues were mainly related to properly setting environment variable LD_LIBRARY_PATH. Oracle Metalink helped in solving those issues so I recommend searching there first if you are getting stuck.

  • Sending message from oracle to middleware through oracle messaging gateway

    Hi,
    I am very new to oracle AQ and oracle messaging gateway. I am actually trying to propagate a message from oracle to middleware through oracle messaging gateway.
    I have created the link between oracle messaging gateway and middleware(IBM Websphere).
    1.*Created an object type with a single attribute of type sys.xmltype*.
    create or replace type xpctas_type as object(payload sys.xmltype);
    2.*Created a qtable with payload type as xpctas_type, a queue and started the queue.*begin
    dbms_aqadm.create_queue_table(
    queue_table => 'xpctas_qtab',
    queue_payload_type => 'xpctas_type',
    multiple_consumers => TRUE
    dbms_aqadm.create_queue(queue_name =>'xpctas_q',
    queue_table => 'xpctas_qtab',
    max_retries => 16);
    dbms_aqadm.start_queue('xpctas_q');
    end;
    3.*Created a transformation that converts user defined type xpctas_type to messaging gateway canonical type sys.MGW_BASIC_MSG_T.*
    For this I created a function that converts xpctas_type to messaging gateway canonical type sys.MGW_BASIC_MSG_T.
    CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION APPS.order_2_basic(my_order in xpctas_type)
    RETURN sys.mgw_basic_msg_t
    IS
    v_xml XMLTYPE;
    v_text varchar2(4000);
    v_clob CLOB;
    v_basic sys.mgw_basic_msg_t;
    text_body sys.mgw_text_value_t;
    header     sys.mgw_name_value_array_t;
    BEGIN
    v_xml := XMLTYPE.createXML(my_order,NULL,NULL);
    v_basic := sys.mgw_basic_msg_t.construct;
    header := sys.mgw_name_value_array_t(sys.mgw_name_value_t.construct_integer('MGW_MQ_characterSet','1208'),
    sys.mgw_name_value_t.construct_integer('MGW_MQ_priority', '7'));
    IF(LENGTH(v_xml.getstringval())>0 AND LENGTH(v_xml.getstringval())<=4000) THEN
    v_text := v_xml.getStringVal();
    text_body := sys.mgw_text_value_t(v_text,NULL);
    ELSE
    dbms_lob.createtemporary(v_clob,TRUE,dbms_lob.session);
    v_clob:=v_xml.getClobVal();
    text_body := sys.mgw_text_value_t(NULL,v_clob);
    dbms_lob.freetemporary(v_clob);
    END IF;
    v_basic:=sys.mgw_basic_msg_t(header,text_body,NULL);
    RETURN v_basic;
    END order_2_basic;
    begin
    dbms_transform.create_transformation(
    schema => 'apps',
    name => 'order_to_basic',
    from_schema => 'apps',
    from_type => 'xpctas_type',
    to_schema => 'sys',
    to_type => 'mgw_basic_msg_t',
    transformation => 'Apps.order_2_basic(source.user_data)');
    end;
    4.     Registered a foreign queue.
    declare
    v_options sys.mgw_properties;

    gv_mq_queue_name := 'MB.O2C.SOFTWARESOLUTION';

    Hello,
    your setup of the message gateway seems to be ok.
    Did you check the corresponding versions of the client libraries (*.jar) ? These are the libraries on
    db server side (e.g. aqapi.jar, based on your CLASSPATH entries in file "mgw.ora") and for the IBM MQ jars.
    Kind regards,

  • Messaging Gateways (MQ for example)

    Hi there,
    Is it possible to use Enterprise Messaging Gateways on standard edition Oracle.
    I would like to give my clients the option of what version they wish to use but need to connect to MQ Series.
    If the Oracle Product does not allow this, are there any other 'Gateway' providors that do develop such a bridge for the Standard edition.
    Many Thanks

    Wrong place to ask this.
    This forum is for the Sun MQ, not the IBM MQ. I would suggest, either going to the IBM site for this, or to the http://forum.java.sun.com/forum.jspa?forumID=29 on the JMS specifications.
