Message no. FMKU135, The commitment item category is not correct

Dear experts,
I'm trying to chek how budget release works in BCS. When I run transaction FMMPRELE, the message in the title appears.
The commitment items in the message log are with category "3" - expenditure. What can be wrong with that?
If you have any idea, please share.
Thanks in advance,
Toni

Hi
any update on this? I also got the same error. What should I do?
Thanks

  • FMMPRELE - have error - FMKU135: The commitment item category is wrong

    Hello,
In current project we use BCS and SAP ECC 6.0.
We also use auto-release function in FMBB when entering budget documents (plan).
I want to reduce the plan value and use FMMPRELE transaction for it. In message log i have the following error:
The commitment item category is wrong
    Message no. FMKU135
    Diagnosis
The commitment item category entered is not correct.
    Procedure
Check how the commitment item category is filled by your application. Notify your system administrator in case of problems.
The commitment item category (FMCIA) is 3 - Expenditures. I don't know why SAP doesn't like this commitment item category because this category is selected in "selection of FM Account Assignments". Have any the same problems with FMMPRELE?

    Thank's a lot

    Hi
This issue is related to document splitting.  Unfortunately I don't have access to an ECC6 system today so can't give you the specific solution, however you need to check the config settings in the following path:
IMG > Financial Accounting (New) > General Ledger Accounting (New) > Business Transactions > Document Splitting > Classify Document Types for Document Splitting
If you are unable to resolve this, you should ask for assistance from a FI consultant.

    Hello,
when I try to post a customer invoice with fb70 tx , and I have created a derivation rule : cost center-->fund center, and also the G/L account that I am using in the posting has a commmitment item assigned , but the system shows the next error:
"Message number: FI311: Any commitment item has been entried in the position 00001 1000(Cocd)

But in the tx Fb01, the system  run correctly and make the derivation
Which is the problem , some note to implement ?

    Hi,
When you post a document, all lines have to receive FM assignment. I believe, you are receiving this message on the line of the customer. Go to FMDERIVE, activate a trace and you will see if you have rules missing to derive FM object.

Note 1358696 - Document splitting: Business transaction "SKIP"
All correction are in place, but still error message is there, Looking for suggestion

    Hi,
    1. In order that document splitting recognizes how the individual document items are to be handled, you need to classify them. You do this by assigning them to an item category. The item category is determined by the account number.
You need to assign the following accounts in the system
    1. Revenue account
    2. Expense account
    3. Bank account/cash account
    4. Balance sheet account
The classification of all other accounts is known to the system, so you do not have to enter them here.
The following item categories are included in the system:
    1. Customer
    2. Vendor
    3. Cash discount offsetting
    4. Asset
    5. Material
    6. Expense
    7. Revenue
    2. In short, Exclude item category 1001, which is technical, in fact you only need to assign the item categories like, B/S Account, Cash Account, Expenses Account or Revenue Account according to you general ledger number range.
If the GL Account 3xxxxx  is the balance sheet account then simply use the item category 1000.
In such case, you can ignore the warning message and continue saving. It is appearing because you are changing the numbers
    Thanks,

  • Financial transaction and commitment item category

    Hello,
Can any one suggest what financial transaction and commitment item category can be used when creating the following commitment items:
    u2022     Value added tax (VAT)
    u2022     tax on profits
    u2022     before-tax income
    u2022     nett income
    u2022     net financial result
And moreover, should such a commitment items be created?
    Thanks
    Irina

    Hi Irina,
As I said, the real question is whether you are going to use these commitment items for budget management. If not, it does not really matter if it will be defined 50/2 or 50/3 - in any case, the AVC will not be applied to these lines. It's not even necessary to define a separate commitment item for these G/Ls; it's possible to define one dummy commitment item for all transactions which are not relevant for budget activities.

  • Doesn't allow us to change the commitment item in ME21N/ME22N

    Hi,
We have prepared Po for Stock transfer Order by using Item Category I, without PR. While making Po we have two line items... 1st line item the material is DMFRL1023 (Raw Material) & 2nd line item is DMFRC1051 (Raw Material). In Material DMFRL1023 itu2019s allowing to change the Commitment Item but  in 2nd line item it doesnu2019t allow to change the commitment item. The Valuation Class & VC: Sales order stk in both materials is same. The Gl which is attached in BSX transaction key in obyc is XXXXXX. And the same GL appears when we do the entry in new po against two materials because we have created Commitment item same no as GL which is non budgetable. But in Material DMFRL1023 it give us to change & for Material DMFRC1051 it doesnu2019t allow us to change the commitment item. If we changed that it will take previous commitment item (Default one).  There is no purchase Order history against both line item
    Kindly advice.
    Thanks in advance
    Regards,
    Nikhil

    Hi Nikhil,
The way that commitment items are derived by transaction FMDERIVE can be the answer for your inquiry.
I will explain to you in detail how to use the trace tool.
Normally the derivation strategies are called at posting time several times. Please turn the trace of FMDERIVE On, as explained in SAP note 666322 (download the note in service marketplace). If you enter in transaction FMDERIVE you will see the trace button (a truck) were you click on activate.
This is a customer tool where you can analyze the derivation log and find out how the Account Assignment objects are determined (values after and before the derivation process).
    Please do the following:
    a. Enter in FMDERIVE and activate the Trace
    b. Test again your issue in ME21N/ME22N.
    c. You will receive FMDERIVE trace screen with the values of account assignments. Probably you will receive more than one time this screen. If you see that the value is correct go to the next step clicking on button "X".
Whenever you find that the value is incorrect (or empty), please do the following:
    d. In the FMDERIVE pop-up screen click on button "Display Log". When you click there you will see another screen.
    e. There, Go to Menu Goto -> Display Print Template
    f. Click on both folders to open the tree.
In the first one you will see the Values after and Before.
In the second one (Steps), you are able to see WHERE exactly was the change, what was happening during the execution of derivation rules, the RULES that it is in use in that step.
All the derivation rules which are in use during the process will be marked with yellow line.
If you check the trace log and the 'value after' is not correct, you should adjust your existing  derivation rule.
If you find out that a derivation rule is responsible for the different behaviour on commitment item changes in MM transactions, I suggest you to find out the derivation rule and then adjust the target field settings.
For this, please enter in the derivation rule -> Definition Tab, double click in the name of your Target Field (bottom part of the screen).
There you will find the fields:
( ) Do not overwrite if Fld Already Filled
( ) Overwrite with new value
( ) Overwrite with new value if new value is not empty.
You should choose the most appropriate option for your business scenario.
    I hope this helps.
    Best Regards,
    Vanessa.

  • Item category is not defined

    hi,
when i am trying to sell raw materials i am geting an error message during PGI .item category is not defined and when i enter valution type manually in delivery doc. it goes through.
batch mgmt is activated for finished goods(no batch for raw material sell)
item category settings are done properly
can some one throw some light( why the error is coming and how it can be avoided)
there are no excise issues since it is an international client
    Regards
    Anil

    Hi sharukh
Generally for raw material (ROH) sales views are not maintained. As you are selling the raw material (ROH) , you need to extend the material the sales views (sales orgn1&2 , sales gen plant ) . Go to MM01 and give the material name and extend it by selecting those material.
Now check in the sales view in MMR , what is the item category group , wheather it is NORM or any other thing. and make sure  that sales doc type and item  category grp what item category is coming in VOV4.
Now when you create a sales order , (VA01) , check that item category is determined or not .in VOV4 if it gives error again
