Message split in pipeline processing

Hi,
Can anybody explain what is mean by "message split in pipeline processing" ??
Thanks in advance

  • Split message mapping to integration process

    Hi,
    I faced an error when trying to send a multiple message (after a message split) to an integration process and I would like to know the possibilities to resolve this issue.
    What I want to do (more details below) :
    1. Get an order list from a database
    2. Split the order list in multiple orders (via a multi-mapping)
    3. For each order, create a new integration process instance
    The error I got is:
    Messages in multi message format can be sent to one adapter engine only
    The solutions I thought of:
    - Creating a new integration process / Update the existing integration process in order to execute the message split in the process engine
    - Create a new service (or business system) as a receiver instead of the process that points back to another XI service and set-up the appropriate configuration between the second service and the existing integration process
    My question: is there another solution than the two above?
    Thanks in advance
    Here are the details of what I did:
    1. A JDBC request returns an order list like:
    <resultSet>
       <row>
          <order>[...order 1 details...]</order>
       </row>
       <row>
          <order>[...order 2 details...]</order>
       </row>
    </resultSet>
    2. During interface determination phase, a multi-mapping is executed to produce several orders:
    <order>[...order 1 details...]</order>
    <order>[...order 2 details...]</order>
    3. The target receiver is an integration process who take as initial document only one order ; so, having two orders as a result of the split, I would like XI to create two new instances of my integration process, each receiving exactly one order.
    And there's when the above error occured.

    Hi Alexis
    Creating a new integration process is suggested as your target receiver is your current integration process and along with this splitting and passing data to multiple receiver can be done in integration process.
    Thanks
    Mitesh

  • Integration Process problem in Message Split.

    Hi all,
    I have done message split using the this blog.
    /people/sudharshan.aravamudan/blog/2005/12/01/illustration-of-multi-mapping-and-message-split-using-bpm-in-sap-exchange-infrastructure
    I am getting problem in the BPM i.e. in Integration Process. In the message monitoring of RWB I am able to see data Outbound to BPM exchange but BPM to Inbound is not at all happening.
    I dont have any SAP tools to trace the BPM.
    I have been trying this for 3 days desparately.
    Can somebody please help me in this.
    Thanks,
    Subhosh.

    Hi,
    Like mentioned by Udo, you need to have the SAP log on to be able to debug and find the cause for your problem.
    One option, can you look into message monitoring in RWB and check what the error message is?

  • Problem with Mulit Mapping/Message Split

    Hi,
    I am a newbie to XI trying to set up a file2file scenario with multi-mapping/message splitting without BPM.
    System is XI 3.0 SP14
    Scenario is:
    read an XML-File and multiply it and write 2 XML-files using the File adaptor.
    For reference I used "multimapping without BPM".
    - setting occurancy of Message types to unbounded in both Message Mapping and Interface Mapping.
    - using the RB_Split button
    - setting up one business service containing 2 message interfaces and 2 communication channels for output.
    Designing and Konfiguring worked fine.
    File is read but no file is written.
    XML-Moni tells me "Mapping did not create Messages"
    I did extensive studies in sap.help, forum and various blogs. Also to verify Messagetypes and Kommunication channels I set up similar file2file scenario without splitting. Nothing really helped.
    Any clues?

    Hi again,
    very efficient method to test XML-source file. - Thanks.
    Unfortunately it did not solve my problem.

  • Pipeline Processing

    If I have a file to file Scenario, what are all the steps involved in the Pipeline processing.
    (When the file is picked up by Adapter first, then it enters into the Pipeline until that point I am clear I hope)
    Thanks

    Hi Mohini,
    When a source message reaches the Integration server, it performs 6 steps before the message reaches the destination. The steps are:
    1) Receiver Determination: This steps determines the system that participates in the exchange of the message.
    2) Interface Detremination: For each receiver determine which interface will should receieve the message.
    3) Message Split: If more than one receievers are found, Xi will instantiate new message for each receiver.
    4) Message Mapping: Mapping to transform the source message to destination message format.
    5) Technical Routing: Bind a specific destination and protocol to the message.
    6) Call outbound Adapter: Send the transformed message to the adapter or a proxy.
    One can examine these steps in Runtime Workbench using the Transaction: SXMB_MONI.
    Hope this answers your query.
    Regards.

  • Multi-Mapping Message Split 1:n

    Hi experts,
    I have a few questions regarding a multi-mapping for a 1:n message split. I have a business process which collects IDOCs from a specific IDOC type (ZHINVOIC01).
    I have a 1-to-1 Mapping for collecting the IDOCs.
    After this 1-to-1 Mapping the IDOC has the following structure:
    xdoc has the occurrence 0..unbounded
    For every IDOC in the source structure one xdoc in the target structure should be created. My Mapping works very fine, but I have one question. If there are more IDOC-Elements in the source structure, I have more xdoc-Elements in the target structure. But I do not want to have one target-message. the mapping should create one file with the element xdoc for every IDOC element in the source structure.
    I want to send a xml-file for each xdoc-element to a ftp-server. is that possible?
    Thanks and best regards
    Christopher Kühn

    Hi Udo,
    look at my example above:
    for the source structure
    <Messages>
       <Message1>
          <ZHINVOIC01>
             <IDOC/>
             <IDOC/>
             <IDOC/>
          </ZHINVOIC01>
       </Message1>
    </Messages>
    I have the following target structure:
    <Messages>
       <Message1>
          <xdoc/>
          <xdoc/>
          <xdoc/>
       <Message1>
    <Messages>
    now the target structure is only one message, isn't it?
    But I want to have for this case 3 Messages each with only one xdoc-element.
    I hope that we are not talking at cross-purposes
    Thanks and best regards
    Christopher

  • Message-Split in a Sync Scenario

    Hello Experts.
    As i am quite new to Pi, i have some problems with an integration scenario we are about to implement. As i am not really into the topic, i do'nt even know, if the prefered solution can be implemented in PI or if our current approach is nonsense after all.
    The currently preferred solution would look like this:
    1.) The sender system collects the data and sends one message using a synchronous webservice call
    2.) PI splits the message into n parts (one outgoing message per receiving system), sends the message-parts synchronously to the receiving systems, collects the response messages into one big message and sends this message as the response message for the webservice-call, the sender system made.
    3.) The sender system receives the response message and updates the database.
    The problem is, that i have no clue how to do a message-split in a Sync scenario. I already experimented with a message-split in Async scenarios and everything worked fine, but i have no idea, how to do the trick in a Sync scenario.
    As the incoming message represents a table (only one kind of element; occurence 0...unbounded), i would have to do the following:
    1.) Split the incoming message line by line (or childnode by childenode)
    2.) Collect the lines for the single receiver systems (each receiver should get only one message)
    3.) Send the messages
    4.) receive the results
    5.) Join the results into one response message / Handle timeouts, if a receiver could not be reached in time
    6.) Send the response message to the sender system
    When experimenting with the async scenario, i used BPM to split the message into parts, but an integration process seems to need asynchronous abstract interfaces. At least PI did not accept my synchronous message-Interface and even if it would do so, i would have no idea how to send the message parts synchronously and how to join the results.
    Of course we could also send one record per message - in this case everything would be easy and clear, but unfortunatelly this is not the preferred solution, but the "Plan B"...
    Does anybody know how to do what we want? Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.
    And by the way: We are using PI 7.0.
    Regards, Jörg

    Thanks for your reply.
    I was already afraid, that the preferred approach could be a dead end. If the described scenario is impossible to implement, i could immagine two alternative solutions:
    1.) Our "Plan B":
    -> Single records
    -> One record per message
    -> Synchronous communication
    PI would only have to do a quite stupid routing based on a certain field in the message.
    2.) Something totally different:
    -> Asynchronous communication
    -> The sender still send the data for n receivers in one message
    -> PI splits the message and sends the n parts to n receivers
    -> The receiver sends a response after processing the data
    -> PI simply forwards this message to the sender
    I think scenario #2 could have a better performance, as the total number of messages is limited to the necessary minimum, but as i'm not experienced in PI, i'm not actually sure about this.
    Any recommendations?

  • BPM Configuration in Message Split

    Hi All,
    My scenario 1:2 Message Split is like this....
    Message types: MT_INPUT,MT_OUTPUT1,MT_OUTPUT2.
    Message Interfaces: MI_INPUT(OUTBOUND),MI_INPUT_ABS(ABS),MI_OUTPUT1(INBOUND),MI_OUTPUT1_ABS(ABS),MI_OUTPUT2(INBOUND),MI_OUTPUT2_ABS(ABS).
    Message Mappings: Source is MT_INPUT and target is MT_OUTPUT1,MT_OUTPUT2(MM_Message_Split)
    Interface Mappings: Souce is MT_INPUT_ABS(ABS) and traget is MI_OUTPUT1_ABS,MI_OUTPUT2_ABS(IM_Multiple Files).
    BPM steps are:One recieve step,transformation step,Fork.
    Fork Branch-1:Reciever determination and Send Output1
    Fork Branch-2:Reciever determination and Send Output2.
    I didn't create any correlation ID in BPM.
    In the configuration of XI I know that I have to create 3 reciever determinations,3 Interface Determinations, 2 Reciever agreements and 1 sender agreement.
    But I am fumbling to find out the flow of message interfaces involved here, especially in the interface determinations.
    Please help me, I am a newbie to BPM.........

  • BPM: error at exactly 2500 messages after message split: no coincidence?

    Hi everybody,
    we poll a message, split it in BPm and than call a WebService.
    We got an error exactly after 2500 messages were processed successful.
    Is there a special parameter which influences the BPM?
    Thanks a lot
    Regards Mario

    Hi,
    In SXMB_ADM you can set the time out higher for the sync processing.
    Go to Integration Processing in SXMB_ADM and add parameter SA_COMM CHECK_FOR_ASYNC_RESPONSE_TIMEOUT to 120 (seconds). You can also increase the number of parallel processes if you have more waiting now. SA_COMM CHECK_FOR_MAX_SYNC_CALLS from 20 to XX. All depends on your hardware but this helped me from the standard 60 seconds to go to may be 70 in some cases.
    Make sure that your calling system does not have a timeout below that you set in XI otherwise yours will go on and finish and your partner may end up sending it twice
    when you go for BPM the whole workflow
    has to come into action so for example
    when your mapping last < 1 sec without bpm
    if you do it in a BPM the transformation step
    can last 2 seconds + one second mapping...
    (that's just an example)
    so the workflow gives you many design possibilities
    (brigde, error handling) but it can
    slow down the process and if you have
    thousands of messages the preformance
    can be much worse than having the same without BPM

  • Message split questions

    Hi Guys!
    First I need a confirmation for following assumption:
    To create multiple messages of same type (without BPM) I set the inbound interface to 0..unbounded in the if-mapping and I also set the target message to 0..unbounded in the message mapping. If I want to create one message per let's say "ITEM", I map ITEM to the root node of the target message and there will be one message per ITEM. Is that right?
    Then I have a question concerning the processing order:
    Are the messages processed in the order they appear in the message mapping?
    Last question:
    Does the message split within the if-/ message mapping also work with synchronous processes and with jdbc adapter?
    Thanks in advance!
    Karsten

    Karsten:
    In anwsering your first question, it is 1:N multi-mapping scenario, noticed that your target message is just single type.
    1. In your message mapping, go to "message" tab, change your target message to 0:unbounded
    2. In you Interface mapping, change to inbound interface to 0:unbounded, mapping program need to be specify your message mapping
    3. In your message mapping, you want each 'ITEM" in your source message to generate each target message:
    you need to map: ITEM  --->  Target_Message_Type.
    Hope this answer your first question as well.

  • Message Split 1:n

    I have created a multi-mapping for a message split (1:n transformation). Tested the mapping and it works fine. However when I try to activate the related interface I get the error:
    A multi-mapping with multiple source or target interface instances is only recommended with asynchronous interfaces, since only a mapping of this type can be used in the process editor.  IDoc ORDERS.ORDERS05 | urn:sap-com:document:sap:idoc:messages are not asynchronous abstract interfaces
    As my interface is asynchronous, and according to SAP-Docu this is the only restriction for a multi-mapping - I have no clue what the problem is?? Has anybody a hint?
    Regards
    Anna

    Hi Anna,
    When you import standard structures like ORDERS.ORDERS05 , It imports both message interface(this interface does not have any direction like i/b, o/b or abstract ) and message type, but you can use these interfaces only ouside the BPM. If you want to use them in BPM then you need to create Asynchronous Abstract interfaces using the imported message types.
    Please create Abstarct Asynchronous interface for ORDERS.ORDERS05 to use in BPM.

  • Multi-Mapping and Message Split using BPM UDFs Error

    hi
    As per the below blog
    Illustration of Multi-Mapping and Message Split using BPM in SAP Exchange Infrastructure
    I have just modified the UDFs(1.selectnodeifA 2.selectNodeifB)

    The source code given in the blog is correct ? I thought for loop has not completed
    pls help
    manian

    Hi manian,
    I was having a look to Illustration of Multi-Mapping and Message Split using BPM in SAP Exchange Infrastructure blog.
    The functions are not the same. I mean, yours and blogs functions.
    Each function has two parameters, Name and node. Furtheremore, in the blogs' functions is using arrays and you don't.
    So, the right code will be
    1.selectnodeifA
    for(int i=0;i<=node.length();i++)
    if(Name<i>.equals("A"))
    result.addValue(Node<i>);
    However, if you don't need an advance user defined function as you want to process just one element of the node's queue, you will not need to use for sentence.
    Something like:
    1.selectnodeifA
    // for(int i=0;i<=n;i++)
    if(Name.equals("A"))
    result.addValue(Node);
    Hope it is usefull for you.

  • Transmitting message to entry pipeline failed !!

    Hi all,
    We have configured a <b>file adapter</b> to poll a specific directory. Now the adapter polls the file , deletes it after reading it , however it fails to deliver the message to entry pipeline.
    We are getting an error msg that reads:
    <b>Transmitting the message to endpoint http://itcxi1:53000/sap/xi/engine?type=entry using connection AFW failed, due to: Received HTTP response code 404..</b>
    We have already gone through the link:
    <b>Transmitting message to entry pipeline failed !!
    Accordingly we have checked but we have <b>not used any business system</b>.
    There are <b>two business service</b>(one sender and the other reciever).
    We have checked sxmb_adm and httpport in the exchange profile but all of them are filled with the respective values:
    com.sap.aii.connect.integrationserver.r3.httpport = <b>8030</b>.
    com.sap.aii.connect.integrationserver.httpport = <b>53000</b>.
    in sxmb_adm we have given url as http://10.119.4.33:8030/sap/xi/engine?type=entry
    But still in the error msg the url reads as:

    Neetu

    Hi Michal,
    Thanks for ur prompt response.
    Actually in this scenario i am not using any business system.
    As mentioned before i have two business services one of which acts as the sender service and the other one acts as the receiver service.
    Each one of them have their corresponding communication channels.
    So where do i change the url.
    My sld has a business system for xi in which i changed the url, putting the port as 8XXX.
    Next i imported this system to my scenario and tried sending a message again but got the same error.
    What should i do next?

  • Message Split Comes Before Mapping

    Hi,
    Can anybody explains the following queries....
    1.Why Message Split Comes Before Mapping in Pipeline Steps?
    2.What do you mean by Collaborative Profile and Collaborative Agreement?
    3.What are Context Path, Context Object and Context Handling?
    4.Which adpaters run on j2ee engine and which run on ABAP stack.
    5.What is the need of datatype when we are creating the message type
    6. and similarly what is the use of Business system when we are creating the corresponding Technical system
    Thanks n Advance.,
    Stallin

    >>1.Why Message Split Comes Before Mapping in Pipeline Steps?
    Simple. Imagine you have 2 receivers with different mappings. If this has to work correct, XI needs to copy of the source msg for doing the mapping. rite?
    >> 2.What do you mean by Collaborative Profile and Collaborative Agreement?
    Collaborative profile -->Serivce with out party and service and all the commn channels you create for it.
    Collaborative agreement -->Sender & Receiver agreements, that bind your cc with the interface.
    >> 3.What are Context Path, Context Object and Context Handling?
    Context path- It is Xpath expressions I guess. It is used for specifying conditions in receiver determination and interface determination.
    Context Objects -- Used for the same.It reduces the complex Xpath expressions.
    >>4.Which adpaters run on j2ee engine and which run on ABAP stack.
    All adapters are part of j2ee frame work except IDOC and HTTP adapters. You dont need sender agreements for the 2.
    5.What is the need of datatype when we are creating the message type
    To get the valid XML structure.
    6. and similarly what is the use of Business system when we are creating the corresponding Technical system
    Tech systems -->Physical entiteis
    Buss Systems --> Logical entities.
