MessageBox changing event processing ?

Hey all..
I am trying to ask a user a question during some event processing, but it seems everytime I pop up the messagebox where a yes/no response is required the event never 'finishes', meaning, if the event code was called when a user clicked on a CheckBox, the checkbox never gets checked, regardless of what the user chooses on the messagebox ...
but, if the code doesn't get to the messagebox call, everything works fine..

Hi Michael,
following the advice I read in this forum I use the Item_Pressed event instead of the click event. It catches the event properly, and the checkbox is (un)checked.
Click event is only for editable items.

Data Change event triggering Process hangs in Process chain

HI Folks,
In a daily running Process chain we have a Data Change event triggering Process , to trigger broadcasting settings
This process is running for a long time , with no progress
in SM50 , there are 2 process
Process 1 : RSRD_BROADCAST_STARTER Status : OnHold Reason : SLEEP
Process 2 : SAPLRSRD_X_RUNTIME Status : OnHold Reason : RFC
I tried to change the Parallel Processing setting as Number of Processes = 1
But still the process is hanging.
Any inputs will be a great help.

I would suggest you to uninstall all the components and start all new again, n please make sure you have the following order :-
1) install GUI 710 along with BEx 7.0 and 3.x complete.
2) install BW AddOn (bw350gui710_8-10004473.exe latest one from Service market Place).
3) Install BI AddOn (bi710sp11_1100-10004472.exe latest one from Service market Place).
4) Install SAP precalc server (xPreCalServer10_1-10004472.exe, latest one from Service market Place).
In service market place you can get the components from Downloads ->Support Packages and Patches -> Entry by Application Group -> "SAP Frontend Components"
Also, plz make sure that you restart your Server OS after each and every installation.
This would solve your problem.

No sourceSet nodes in the change event??!, help!

I have Acrobat 9 pro and it comes with Lifecycle 8.2 ES
I decided to try the data drop down with an address block for a simple database hello world form.
I have read every web reference to this (on the surface) simple hello world style forms project.
In the process I’ve learned formCalc, accessors, clone(1), Ref, the XML form model, sourceSet,
binding, nodes, items, shortcut formCalc notation, form vars, defining OLEDB and OLEDB ODBC (tried both).
I’ve coded the change event at least 30 different ways using both formCalc and javascript.
I still can’t get this to work. I belive in RTFM but this has finally kicked my a** and I need some help.
I know what the problem is, I don’t believe it. The sourceSet node in the change event has 0 nodes even though I have two data connections and I can access them in the initialize event. Did they remove access to the sourceSet in the change event completly in Acrobat 9 and just didn’t tell anyone?
My database is SQL server with two tables.
A customer table with Name and CustomerID
An Address Table with CustomerId and address information
I set up the data drop down to display the Name and then in the change callback I tried to get the CustomerId
and query for the data in the second table. I’ve bound the address block data to fields in the second table and set the second table to delayed open.
I’ve tried this with every possible way of coding an accessor. When coded directly (using the intellsence thing) I get unknown accessor for the error. When using the index method and searching for it with a while, I get index out of range with an index value of 0.
Here is a formCalc version of the change callback:

I’ve coded this line many different ways using xfa notation, $sourceSet notation, resolveNode notation, but in the end it doesn’t matter
because this message box:
$host.messageBox(Concat(“sourceSet=”,xfa.sourceSet.nodes.items.length))
returns a 0 count in the change event.
I’ve check the XML and I have sourceSet in there and as I’ve said, the intellisense thing works and
the initialize callback works. The dropdown is correctly populated.
Note: I do realize I’m going to have to do something different in order to get the customerId as this:
var sCustomerId = $.boundItem(sName)
doesn’t work due to the way the initialize event populates the drop down. I’m sure I can fix that.
I just can’t get past the problem of no sourceSet nodes in the change event.

Issue in execution of Dynamic action on change event

Greetings.
I have scenario, where I have one select list (P_CATEGORY) and one shuttle control (P_ROOMS) on page.
The values of the shuttle list is being populated based on the selected value in select list.
The left pane of shuttle control's value based on LOV and source of the shuttle item is a plsql function, which returning colon separated value list.
So that returned values shown in the right pane of shuttle.
The LOV values are getting being populated using cascading LOV i.e based on the of Select List item. But the Shuttle source values not getting auto refresh and for achieving that I've created a dynamic true action on change event of Select list.
The dynamic action is with :
Action : Set Value
Set Type : PL SQL funciton body
Page items to submit : P_CATEGORY (this is select list)
Escape Special Character : Yes
Suppress Change event : Yes
Affected Elements -
Selection type : Item(s)
Item(s) : P_ROOMS
This is perfectly working on Firefox but not working on IE9 & Google Chrome.
I've debugged in both IE9 & Google chrome and found the dynamic action get executes ajax call and the values get back but not rendering on the screen. i.e not assigning to the item.
So can you please advice me what will be a workaround for this issue?
I am using Application Express 4.1.0.00.32 .

I don't understand why this is not working withouth seeing an example, there might be multiple processes working on the item.
Anyway if the value is returned check if the value is in the session aswell. If it is in the session but not on the page that means you will need to find a way to bring it from the DB to the page. You can do this by adding an action to your DA:
Action: Execute PL/SQL code
PL/SQL code: NULL;
Page Items to Return: your shuttle item

Oracle Event Processing (11.1.1.20100416-1727)

I have recently started working on a oracle event processing application.
In our case,we dont have a streaming data coming as input to the application but we maintain a static relational table which we need to hit every 5 seconds and check for a particular rule to be executed. Right now we maually update/insert the data now and then. So the input to our application would be a select statement from a static table. The rules executed successfully and all looks fine.
Being a developer am able to visualize the rules that I have created via the code for manipulation.
Adding to the above functionality we are in need of window/API kind of thing where the end user updates the rule regularly. Let us assume the static table contains the withdrawal amount and the end user changes the threshold withdrawal limit on daily basis.
When we open the visuallizer ,we can see our application running on the oep server and in the cql rules tab we can see the rules formed for streaming data for ex: select * from helloworldinputstream.
Is there any way to show the sql queries which we have written for the manipulation in the CQL rule tab?

You should install oracle software first and then launch DBCA. Once you have installed oracle software only you can crete listener using netca. Check your init.ora file (must be under
C:>$ORACLE_HOME/database/dbs or $ORACLE_HOME/dbs and local for following parameter LOCAL_LISTENER and remove it. But I recommend you to install oracle software only first and then launch DBCA.
What's your OS? Is it vista? XP?

Getting the rawValue of a Drop-Down list on the "change" event

I am having problems getting the rawValue of a Drop-Down list on the "change" event. It seems that you have to select the same item twice in a row to get the rawValue to be the value of the selected item.
::dropdownlist onChange event::
xfa.host.messageBox(this.rawValue);
On the first time a value is selected you get 'null'. The second time the same value is selected, you get the selected value.
Does anyone have any thoughts on why this is happening? Also, I CANNOT use xfa.event.newText, I need to use the rawValue of the dropdownlist.

The change event occurs before the rawValue is changed. If you NEED to use the rawValue you'll need to use a later event. Perhaps you could use exit so that it gets triggered when the field loses focus?

Contextual Event question (Currency Change Event)

Hello,
I have published a contextual event on my table (Currency Change Event)
I also have a SelectionListener on the same table.
Will I have to manually/programmatically publish the event within the selection listener code? (and if so, how?)
The reason I ask is that I practiced with a small app containing a region from an ADF library that handled currency change event from the referenced task flow and everything was great, but now I am trying to apply the same principles to my "proper" application and there is no currency change event being received in the parent application.
I had a look at Andrejus example (http://andrejusb.blogspot.co.uk/2010/10/contextual-events-framework-and-adf-11g.html) but he has hand crafted the events on the page binding will I have to do that too? Is it not enough that I have the currency change event declared?

I've applied the same processing to another table that uses the standard collectionModel.makeCurrent selection listener and it's firing the contextual event handler in the parent application, so that almost confirms that it's the bespoke selection listener that needs code adding to it to invoke the currency change event

Data change Event for Information Broadcasting

This is regarding problem with "Data change Event for Information Broadcasting".
We have integrated the evening in a separate chain which is scheduled after the transaction data load.
In the settings for the event we have mentioned the infoprovider name based on which the reports are to be distributed.
Now, when the process chain is executed it does not distributes any reports though the data is changed in the infoprovider.
However when executed again its distributing it,any ideas what the problem is ?

Query Broadcasting - Event Process Chain

Hello BW Gurus and experts...
I need to broadcast same query to different set of users filtered on company codes. Thought process is to create different broadcast settings for each company code and these would be waiting for event which would be triggered by process chain using "trigger event data change for broadcaster" process type..
I have done following so far:
1) Created new setting for query broadcasting. Given email ID's and check marked "Only upon data change" in the setting. Is this the correct setting so report will be broadcasted after event? I have succesfully executed this setting and report is broadcasted directly manually.
2) Created process chain and included event data trigger process type for broadcaster. I successfully executed this chain. When I saw associated messages for this process type, it said that 0 setting waiting for this trigger for this infoprovider. I have checked infoprovider and it is correct.
3) I went to RSRD_ADMIN and tried to search for mysetting. It exists but under direct scheduling and not under waiting for data change event.
I dont want to use ABAP program to trigger reports as I beleive I cannot filter data if I go with this query..(or can I ??)
Any ideas how to make this setting work. I am on BW 7.0 and it is Query and want to broadcast by email or email burst.
My thinking is that I have not done correct config while creating setting.

I think you can achieve this with the concept of interrupts:
1) In your meta chain select two interrupt process types one for the first 6 months and the other for the last 6 months.
2) Now in the maintain mode of interrupt you can define a formula to check the month from sy-datum. Here you have the if else condition, you can use it to trigger the further event or not based on the month condition. ( You have to figure out the formula as i cant help it as i dont have system access presently )
As per Mansi you can go for ABAP but it wont be a Meta Chain concept:
1) Create 2 events for botht the PC, put one in each and schedule them periodically as event triggered
2) Create a simple ABAP program. The logic would be as follows:
          data: month(2) type n.
          month = sy-datum+4(2)
          if month LE '6'.
              CALL FM 'BP_RAISE_EVENT'
                to raise event 1 which will trigger forst PC
          elseif month GT '6' and month LE '12'.
              CALL FM 'BP_RAISE_EVENT'
                to raise event 2 which will trigger second PC
          endif.
3) Schedule this program to run daily in the background.

Problem Broadcasting via Data Change in Process Chain

Hi, When I execute a Data Dhange in my Process Chain, my broadcasts are sitting in the transaction SOST Queue with a waiting status. If I Broadcast manually the reports are sent successfully.
Can anyone guess why my broadcasts sit in the queue with a "Waiting" status when I broadcast from a Process Chain via Data Change Event?

JSpinner generates multiple change events

Having problem with JSpinner generating two change events when using double values in the model. It looks like the number editor formatter is causing an event to be generated before it rounds and after it rounds.

This workaround reduces the amount of duplicate events, but I still see double change events that make it through the filter.

Value-Changed Events

There are two basic events, action and value-changed events.
How is the server informed of a value-changed event? Does this include javaScript? If not, how is this handeled?

JSF is a server-side technology, so while JavaScript can be generated for some client-side behavior, the bulk of the processing (and the only processing that is guaranteed to work for all client types) happens on the server.
Value-changed events are generated on the server when the form is submitted, by comparing the component's old value to the new value recieved with the request. In other words, these events are not triggerd by simply changing the value in the browser; the form must be subitted before the event is triggered (which, of course, can be initiated by JavaScript code immediately when the value is changed in some client-types).

'CHANGE' event not triggering for BTE 2214 on park/change from FBV1/FBV2

I have designed a workflow template for FI parking. If the parked document is rejected, i need to trigger FIPP 'CHANGE' event for sending workitem to approver when someone changes the parked document. In SWEL event trace, the 'CHANGE' event is not getting raised.
So i implemented a BTE 000002214 and now i am able to raise 'CHANGE' event and capture it in workflow. But this is only working when i park a document using FV50 transaction and later change it.
But when i park a document using FBV1 and then make changes from FBV2, the 'CHANGE' event is not being triggered in SWEL. Should i implement some other BTE like 2218 etc? Can you please help?

Hi Gokul,
You can try handling the SAVE event instead of the CHANGED event.
T-code FBV2 will not allow you to save the document unless you make some changes.
Try implementing BTE 2218 and revert.
