MessageCountAdapter throws MessageRemovedException for a new Message

Question

Using JavaMail 1.4.2...
I recently have encountered an error with a MessageCountAdapter class of mine (NewFaxEmailHandler) where the below exception is thrown when a new email is received. This happens at some point in time (days or hours) after successfully getting new Messages - and then always occurs from that point on. I am confused how a message could be just received, but yet an expunged Message?

I should mention I am using JDK 6u12, and below is the MessageCountAdapter used. I have just enabled -Dmail.debug=true, so I am hoping to get this error to happen again (I cannot reproduce it yet) and get more info on what is going on.
