MessageLovInput error with apostrophe character
Hello, I am using jdev 10.1.2. I have a messageLovInput box and when I insert a value such as "O'Lone" and click on the Lov flashlight, it throws a huge error:
oracle.jbo.SQLStmtException: JBO-27122: SQL error during statement preparation. Statement: SELECT Person.NAME_LAST, Person.NAME_FIRST, Person.NAME_MI, Person.PERSON_ID, Person.EMAIL_ADDRESS, Person.VMS_USER_ID FROM PERSON Person WHERE Person.Center='CBER' AND Active='Y' AND (upper(NAME_LAST) LIKE upper('%o'leary%')) ORDER BY Person.NAME_LAST
The thing is I cannot find anywhere in my code or in JDEV functionality where it adds on the "AND (upper(NAME_LAST) LIKE upper('%o'leary%')) ORDER BY Person.NAME_LAST" onto the rest of my viewObject sql query
Can anyone help me out?
Hi,
thanks for your reply, unfortunately the oss note doesn't solve the problem.

Error with EURO-character in pdf417 bar code with adobe forms
Hi,
we have a problem with the Euro-Sign (u20AC) in the bar code type pdf417. The encoding is set to "ISO-8859-15", but after creating the barcode and scan this, instead of the u20AC-character the ?-character appears. Is this a bug in the encoding-routine? Or have we to set some special parameters?
Can anybody help?
Thanks!

Error: Invalid dimension member with special character / in BPC NW 7.5 SP7
Hi experts,
We are encountering the following problem in our Financial Planning application.
We are migrating our existing BPC solution from one server to another through backup and restore. The existing solution was on BPC NW 7.5 SP 5. The profit_centre dimension in the existing solutions has several member ids with special character '/' (forward slash). The dimension never threw an error when processed in the existing solution and there is planning transactional data against these member ids.
While the entire configration , appset , files were successfully restored through UJBR on the new system (BPC 7.5 SP7) through UJBR (backup and restore), the masterdata could not be restored only for this Profit_centre (masterdata for other dimensions were processed successfullu). All the member ids with / are rejected for this dimension. The same error is thrown if processed through the admin client from the member sheet.
Error: Dimension member PC_FF/WS/NT is an invalid member ID
Error in Admin module
Is there any setting which need to be made to allow / character in member ids? Any suggestion to get around this problem would be much appreciated.
Thanks
AbhimanHi Abhiman,
Yes, you need to maintain the transformation file to correct all dimension member IDs. Can you please refer to the following link with a similar issue:

Hope this helps.

I am trying to create a process to import to import data using a date variable but when I use the date to get the data from SQL server I am getting a error.
I have tried setting the variable as both a string and date - Select
CONVERT(varchar(10), DATEADD(day, -1, GETDATE()), 101) and map it to the Variable. The date variable is working. It’s correct in the Watch and I am able to use the variable to get data from an Open Link database (row_date = ?)
in the OLE DB Source query. I get a "Invalid character value for cast specification"
error when doing the same thing to get data from an SQL Server OLE DB Source
where the date field is DateTime (row_date = ?). I have tried making the variable as a date and string but get the same error regardless. To make it work, I have to duplicate the date
calculation in the query - HAVING (row_date = CONVERT(varchar(10), DATEADD(day, -1, GETDATE()), 101) ) which works fine.
HAVING (row_date = ?) gives the error with the Parameter mapped to the variable.
Any suggestions as to how to make this work correctly?May I suggest to use style 111 instead of 101?
From experience, yyyy/mm/dd date format will work most of the time for date conversion and
It's due to different date format from mm/dd/yyyy to the system date format that SQL Server is using.
Hope this helps.

Error occurred during character conversion in SXMB_MONI
Hello Experts,
Good Day!
I would like to seek your help here. When i used tcode SXMB_MONI to search for messages i get this error : Error occurred during character conversion.
So far no problem with the program. Its work for all other dates. Just for one particular day and specific time period, im geting this error.
Does anyone know what is this error means? Please reply..
Thanks for your help.
Looking forward for ur replies..Hi Presheela,
Basically this problem occurs when ur payload contains any special characters like '&' ,'>'...etc .So you have to take care of how to deal with these characters in XI.
Refer the following documentation:

------=_Part_176_29725195.1331307008851--I do have SR but hoping i can get quicker answer hereYou may always escalate the SR if you are not getting response timely. Anyways, give the reference of this thread in the SR and ask service engineer to file a bug.
I will email you the wire messageI saw the wire message you mailed across. There are some junk characters in the starting of the payload and that's why parsing is failing. Most probably it is a BOM (Byte Order Mark). Ask your TP to send messages in UTF-8 encoding without BOM or any other junk character in the starting of the message. You may open the wire message payload you mailed across in notepad or textpad and you will able to see those junk characters in the starting of the payload.

Bypass Adapter URI Endpoint with Escape Character for Web Service
Dear All,
I would like to apply by pass adapter URI Endpoint for XI webservice, the default format is
http://<host>:<port>/sap/xi/engine?type=entry&version=3.0&Sender.Service=<BusinessService>&Interface=<namespace>^<Outbound Interface name>

http://<host>:<port>/sap/xi/engine?type=entry&version=3.0&Sender.Service=<BusinessService>&Interface=<namespace>%5E<Outbound Interface name>
Then error occurred

WengHi ,
as per my knowledge.....................
When you create a WSDL with the help of a wizard. In the Integration Directory, choose Tools -> Define Web Service to enter the wizard.
On Propose URL button, as this genertated URL default Point to Entegration Engine.. SO already proformance wise Good.
If You want to Point your URL to adapter engine , use below given URL this will point ur incoming soap message to SOAPadapter sender channel
http://<host>:<j2ee-port>/XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet?channel=:<service>:<channel>.

SMQ2 (Inbound Queue) : Error occurred during character conversion
Hi,
In SMQ2 an Inbound Queue has failed with status text "Error occurred during character conversion". The XML message inside this queue is in waiting status with status text " Scheduled for Outbound Processing" .
Even after cancelling this message from SXMB_MONI, and reposting the PO, still again the queue and the XML message inside the queue are in same status.
As this is in XI production system, requesting to provide some suggestion ASAP.
Thanks,
Mateen. The queue status is still sysfail. There is only 1 message waiting in the queue.
I think that the queue might be locked for some reason and after unlocking the queue and restarting the message, the message will get processed successfully.
But before working on this I want to make sure that the queue is locked.
Do you or anyone else know how and from where can I check whether the queue is locked or unlocked?
Regards,
Mateen. -
Problem with a character in an external table
I have Unix Sun OS 5.8
I received 1 file with data. The problem is that this file has a character ' ' in the end file then the charge has an error. The character in the end file is in hexadecimal: 0A, 1A.
Then I have an External table and I put the the clause LOAD WHEN (COMARC != ' ') but when I edit the external table I see LOAD WHEN (COMARC != '.').
And the last record with the ' ' character doesnât filter.
Note: the character isn't a space ' '. It is the hexadecimal: 0A, 1A
What I have to put in the LOAD WHEN (COMARC != '??????????') to filter this character?I put LOAD WHEN (COMARC != x'0A1A') but I receive the error:
ORA-29913: error in executing ODCIEXTTABLEOPEN callout
ORA-29400: data cartridge error
KUP-00554: error encountered while parsing access parameters
KUP-01005: syntax error: found "single-quoted-string": expecting one of: "and, not, or, )"
KUP-01007: at line 3 column 26
ORA-06512: at "SYS.ORACLE_LOADER", line 14
ORA-06512: at line 1
If I put:
LOAD WHEN (COMARC != ' ') for example I don't received any error!
What happens?
Thanks! -

Prasad.t.aWhat special character do you want?
your special character is probably beyond ZZZZZ in the numenclature of characters.
enter you special character instead of the Zs in the number range definition and try again. -
