Messages in the program

i am working in 4.6C version.
i developed a report to update a Z table.
from the report i am calling screen and disply in table control.
my requirement is in the middle of the program, for certain conditions i ahve to get back to the selection screen of the program.
i am giving error and warnign messages. even warnign meesage also behaving like error message.
in ECC version we can over come this problem like below syntax
message s000(ID) display like 'E'.
or
message s000(ID) display like 'W'. but in 4.6C version what is the suitable syntax for this.
i want to dispaly error message and i want to come to the selection screen of the program from both the screen and the program.
could any one suggest.

Hi,
One thing you could try is give success message and then call selection-screen:
MESSAGE S000(ID).
CALL SELECTION-SCREEN.
Success message will come in the status bar.

Started a Itunes software update this morning which didn't work. Now Itunes will not open at all. I get the following message."The program can't state becasue MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer."

There are a couple of options that I know of to fix the issue.
One is listed in this thread - https://discussions.apple.com/message/24606478#24606478 - and involves uninstalling iTunes and related components and then re-installing iTunes. You will need to read the instructions in the thread to see the correct uninstall order.
Second option is use System Restore to set your system back to a date prior to the iTunes update. I did this before finding the thread mentioned above.
Not sure exactly what the problem is but I know, after a search, that MSVCR80.dll was indeed already installed on my computer.

All of a sudden my iTunes stopped working, and I get the following error messages:
1. the program can't start because MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem
and
2. iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows error 126).
Now I've checked the forums and followed the advice of uninstalling all Apple applications, rebooting, and reinstalling iTunes.
This is not working. I've tried installing as Administrator but doesn't make any difference at all.
There must be a way to fix this? I'm not a tech geek but I want to avoid having to take my laptop back to factory settings to sort this out.

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

How to display a tray message when the program is just minimized to tray?

hello there
i made my program is minimized to tray when pressing the standard close button using the new features of Java SE 6 system tray
but i want to display a tray message when the program is just minimized to tray(when pressing the standard close button)
like in MSN Messenger to alarm the user that the progam is still running here,any ideas?

Try to debug your code first with simple System.out.println statements to see if your method from adapter class WindowAdapter is called at all, I don't understand you fully and I don't understand you code but you can simply add WindowListener to the thing you are closing (like JFrame) with
this.addWindowListener(new WindowAdapter(){
            public void windowClosing(WindowEvent e){
                //to do - when JFrame is closing!
        });The "this" is the reference to your Window/Frame, inside the overriden method you can invoke the operations on the system tray instance, like display message etc.

I'd like to have a closer look at that error message please.
Generate the error message again. While the error message box is open, hold down the Alt key and hit the PrtSc key. Paste the screenshot into an image file (using a program like Paint), and save the file.
Start a reply here and click the wee camera icon at the top of the reply window. Click "Choose file", browse to the image file, select the file and click "Open". Now click "Insert file" to insert the screenshot into the reply.

I am running OS X10.4.11 Recently I have been having trouble opening entourage, word, safari, excel, etc on a cold start It has been taking 3 attempts each time getting a message that the program quit unexpectedly. Seems like a virus. What can I do?

If I have been running any of those programs and have not shut down the laptop then the program will reopen normally but may shut down unexpectedly on its own and sometimes not. What changed and how do I fix this problem? Running OS X10.4.11 and software updates are current. Ran diagnostics and checked out ok.

Very Important, how much Free Space is on your Hard Drive first of all? Click on the Macintosh HD on the Desktop, then do a Get Info on it.
Could be many things, we should start with this...

2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
3. Click the First Aid tab.
4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.
Do they launch OK while in Safe Mode?

A way to display error messages from the program

Dear all,
I am looking forward to display a set of error messages(in a internal table) during the execution of the program to the user.
I wanted to know the better way of displaying error messages from my program with more options.
Well I tried out using displaying errors as ALV list/Grid or as simple list processing.
But I found some stanadard transactions (Like in MM and FI where errors are shown in a better way, but failed to find out how they are done.
Please guide me.

Try to use application logging it has a very good way to display a set of messages.

Every time that I attempt to open the store in my iTunes program, I receive and error message and it states ITunes has stopped working and needs to close the program. How do I fix this?

How do I show and hide a popup message by the program

Hi,
I've the following problem. Sometime the program must wait to open a seriel port. On slow machines, this could take some seconds.
During this time I'll display a popup message with the message "please, be patient....".
After the port is open, the message should be hide by the program.
JOptionPane could be good, but without a "OK" button. Everthing should be controlled by the program.
I would implement the Runnable interface for the showing of the popup message.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

You can use a JDialog... this will act like JOptionPane, but you can put on it whatever components you like... so no OK button!
For example:
JDialog dialog = new JDialog(parentFrame);
dialog.add(new JLabel("Please be patient", BorderLayout.CENTER);
dialog.pack();
dialog.setLocation(100,100);
dialog.setVisible(true);
dialog.setVisible(false);

Every time I click on photoshop edit I get a message that the program has crashed. I' ve been using photoshop elements for two years and nothing on my computer has changed. My software was downloaded and I have no disk.

Suddenly cant open itunes. message says the program was downloaded incorrectly

I recently was notified by apple that an update was available for itunes and I downloaded it to my windows operating system on my laptop. Now I can't use I tunes on my computer. It said that the program was improperly downloaded and should be redownloaded.
I have before only followed apple wizard for their downloads, and don't know how to proceed. Should I uninstall I tunes via my control panel and then go to I tunes and download as if I were a new user?

This all started when my mouse/thumb clicker was going crazy. Found an expanded battery. Obviously need a new battery. Unfortunately must wait 6 weeks to get my new battery. Meanwhile, I'm running my computer on AC only, as there appears to be no other option. I was informed that when using AC only (no battery) some high-energy-use programs like Office might not function.
Do you know if there is away to use office even when just using AC and not having the battery in? I'm doubting if I have other OSX problems because everything else works: email, safari, itunes, iphoto, quicktime, etc . . . . ?
