Messaging services with ldap replication

using JES2004_q2
Every single component is working fine. Now I am trying to establish the replication with other LDAP for user data. To achieve this I deleted the current ou=People and ou=Groups under my default domain o=xyz.com. And created and initialized NewSubsuffix with the same data for ou=people and ou=Groups under the o=xyz.com on configuration>data.
Replication is working fine with other ldap and as well the search. But messaging is not. On imsimta test come out 5.1.1 unknown or illegal alises but I can see the user entry in search also I can see the entry msg-admin-test.xyz.com-20040824154024Z, which is required to host the domain and run the messaging services.
Any idea why messaging is not working?

As I indicated replication and search for user entry is working fine as we can see all attributes for entry.
Acess logs at directory server is like that when I try to run ./imsimta test

consumer ldap is not using messaging so we don't need to do the replication of PAB
I know Configuration data is tricking. After deleting the ou=People and ou=Groups under o=xyz.com I can see these ou but once I created these as subsuffix under o=xyz.com I can see the entry for ou=People and Ou=Groups with all the intialized entries under Directory tab > o=xyz.com

    To the original poster,
    First, determine how much downtime is acceptable and then determine what your DR plan should be.
    Trying to make a "hot" standby mailserver is a not an easy task. What I would do is just do a complete backup of the current system and load a standalone machine. Then, from that time forward, all you really need to restore are the DS data directory and the mailstore itself. When ever you do a system change, ie patches, then do another level 0 dump and restore to the backup box. If the primary box crashes, restore your latest mailstore and DS data tapes to the backup box, plug it into the network and you're up and running.
    For a fairly small mailstore, you could probably run rsync (remote filesystem sync utility) to a third machine, so you always have a fairly recent copy of the mailstore.
    Once you have that procedure in place, you now know your DR recovery time. If that is unacceptable, then the next step is probably using Sun Cluster 3.x. But now, you're talking big $$$ for a dual-hosted disk array and supported servers and network hardware.
    The time to recover and your tolerable data loss will determine how much you spend. The smaller those numbers, the more it will cost.
    One of my lessons learned, run 'mboxutil -l ' on a regular basis (at least nightly) and save it to a file. That list of folders has saved me a lot of grief over the past months. I have users who constantly misplace /rename/delete folders. It's a lot quicker than messing around with backup tapes to find out which folders did or didn't exist.

  • Integrating Hyperion Shared services with LDAP

    Hi All,
    I have a quick question regarding managing LDAP users using Shared services. I was able to create connection with LDAP using "anonymous bind" but now when I try to see the LDAP users in Shared services , it says no records. How can I see the records ?
    Please help.

    Suggest you talk to your IT people who setup that specific id. Tell them you need the Distinguished Name (DN) of that user -- usually they will have the user placed in a set of containers which may be several levels deep depending on how they organize the directory.
    If you were using Active Directory rather than LDAP you could use AD Explorer to locate the user and you can find the DN yourself. AD Explorer is available at: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963907

  • Secure OSB Service with LDAP

    Hi Friends,
    Greetings!
    Is there a way to secure an OSB service so that user will be able to access it only if they pass their AD/LDAP userid and password?
    Note: I know I can add servie accounts. However I want to avoid adding a guge number of users/services acounts manually.
    Thanks,
    Sachin.

    Hi Sachin,
    You have to configure webogic security realm to add AD/LDAP Authentication provider.
    http://onlineappsdba.com/index.php/2010/02/04/how-to-integrate-weblogic-with-oracle-internet-directory-for-login-authentication/
    In order to secure OSB service you can enable HTTPS or have message level security for the same.
    >know I can add servie accounts. However I want to avoid adding a guge number of users/services acounts manually.
    No Need to maintain n nunber of accounts per n number of users.
    use Basic Authentication/Custom Authentication/OWSM username token service policy to to authenticate username/password with AD/LDAP.
    For Authorization: Use Transport/Message Level Authorization at OSB Service level

  • Idsync with LDAP replication

    I have 2 LDAPs set up in a replication. LDAP2 is the failover for LDAP1. Will I be able to set up password synchronization on both of them from a single AD?
    The need is if LDAP1 goes down, LDAP 2 should be able to server the apps along with the synchronization taking place. Has anyone done this setup.

  • Oracle User Messaging Service unable to connect to Mail server through SSL

    Hi,
    I have a SOA server setup with User Messaging Service, with email driver installed. I set it up to connect to an SMTP server over SSL.
    Using the user messaging sample app from samplecode.oracle.com, I encountered the following error:
    javax.mail.MessagingException: Exception reading response; nested exception is: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target
    After doing some research, I copied the cert from the Mail server and put in in the JDK keystore (jdk\jre\lib\security\cacert) using keytool -importcert command. Then I did configure the SOA server to use that keystore. However I still encountered the above mentioned exception.
    Anyone has encountered and solve the problem?
    Appreciate any pointers :)

    Yes another user with problem with Apple Mobile Device Support, I am getting the error message: Service 'Apple Mobile Device'(Apple Mobile Device) failed to start. Vertify that you have sufficient privileges to start system service....I hit retry and it came up again. I hit ignore and it prompted me to hit finish so Itunes can open.   I looked thru alot of these posts on here to try and resolve this problem myself but it's not working too well...I downloaded Itunes to my desktop so I can right click it with the program i downloaded called WinRAR. I extracted it and then went into the folder called Itunes64setup. I saw the file called AppleMobileDeviceSupport64 in there so I began to try and download it on it's own. Well that didn't work as I planned and got this error message:
    Apple Mobile Device Support wasn't installed on your computer. The installer encountered errors before Apple Mobile Device Support could be configured. Your system has not been modified. To retry these operations at a later time,please run the installer again.
    Well I tried to run it again and came up with the same message...I see that some people got great support to help them so I am hoping someone can help me as well. I know "b nor" is very qualfied and hopefully can help me! Please advise what I can do. Thank you

    Having horrible service with 4GLTE I have had 3G for several weeks (I am not the only person I know having this problem), I have reset my network settings and it did not resolve the issue.  I am also unable to send SMS and text messages without them either failing or not sending at all.  Is there an outage in the Cleveland, Ohio area (zip codes 44129, 44134, 44137) or anything else I can do to resolve this issue?

    Not that I'm a Verizon employee, but I have experience in the field. An LTE tower will only extend up to, on a perfect day, with no elevation, 6-7 miles. On a typical day, you will be lucky at four (4) miles. The three ZIP codes you've given are all within about a 12 mile radius. That would mean that 2-3 towers are currently down at the same time, and Verizon would know about it within the hour. Being it's Cleveland, I'm sure they would receive numerous calls regarding an outage of that size.
    My point is that if you're having issues in all three ZIP codes, chances are it's a phone issue. If you're handset is simply not receiving LTE, but still receiving 3G, that would signify a SIM card issue. You need to get your SIM card replaced.

    I cannot install Creative Suite 5.5 on my Windows 7 Professional. I keep getting error message: "Exit Code: 15 - Media DB sync failed". I have disabled UAC and Startup items and Services with no luck. Can you please help?

    I am sorry Erickkasner but there is no longer direct support provided for Creative Suite 5.5 installation issues.
    You are welcome to post any specific errors you are able to discover within your installation log to this discussion.  Since you are using Windows then Exit Code 15 could mean one of the following:
    Installer database is corrupted
    Update pending to your operating system
    Improper permissions set for the Media.db
    The installation log file should provide additional insight into the exact error you are experiencing.  Please make sure to use the find command to look for the words 'ERROR' and 'FATAL' to locate the relevant error messages.

    Can anyone please tell me where i m  going wrong.Is that because i m using flex2gateway for java calls?.I used it since it was how it has been configured in the turnkey project for coldfusion.I have replicated the file as it was there and since it is using flex2gateway even for javaEndpoints i felt we could use the same.

    Thanks for the reply. Yes, I did compile all the Java and it
    works OK with a simple Java program. It just will not work in a
    Flex application.
    The java classes are:
    RRA:
    package blah.myPackage;
    import java.util.List;
    import java.util.Collection;
    import flex.data.DataSyncException;
    import flex.data.assemblers.AbstractAssembler;
    class RRA extends AbstractAssembler
    public Collection fill( List fillParameters )
    RRS service = new RRS();
    return service.getSome();
    RRS:
    package blah.myPackage;
    import java.util.ArrayList;
    import java.util.List;
    import java.sql.*;
    import flex.EORS.*;
    class RRS
    public List getSome()
    ArrayList list = new ArrayList();
    String str = "bob";
    RR rr = new RR(str);
    list.add(rr);
    return list;
    RR:
    package blah.myPackage;
    class RR
    private String name;
    public RR() { }
    public RR(String name)
    this.name = name;
    public String getName()
    return this.name;
    public void setName(String name)
    this.name = name;
    I started with something that retrieved data from a database
    but watered it down just to try and get some kind of communication
    between Flex and Java.

  • Integration Of BPM with SMS & Instance Messaging services

    is it possible to integrate Oracle BPM with SMS & Instance messaging services? If yes, how?

    BPM 11g can be configured to use SMS & IM for notifications using the User Messaging Service.

    If you want interactive user messaging and collaboration, then the WebCenter based Process Spaces application can provide this.
    There was a recent webcast on Social BPM, which may be helpful - you can view it on demand here:

  • Web services with message interface

    Hi;
    I have  questions.Can anybody help me ?
    First; I created web service with function group,function module,bapi.
    But I don't use message interface for endpoint type and I don't know how to use it.
    I don't know mean of message interface.Can you send me documan or example for this topic.
    Second; I don't know security of web services.

    Hi,
       You can create webservice for message interfaces as same as you created for FM, BAPI...
    Here you need to mention the message interface  name for which you need to create webservice..
    To know about Security ...please refer the below link..

  • Trying to integrate with User Messaging Service adapter in SOA suite.Can it be possible through an JMS interface.

    Trying to integrate with User Messaging Service adapter in SOA suite. Can it be possible through an JMS interface.
    I have an JMS backend integrated to Oracle B2B. Is it possible to send an email protocol message using JMS interface to B2B where User messaging Service has been implemented. The adapters required for UMS have been deployed and the sdpmessaging jar files also have been added to the classpath. The only problem i face is i dont have an BPEL system to integrate where as in the forums it has been mentioned how to post a message using BPEL.
    Please let me know if there is a way to integrate the adapter with JMS interface.
    Thanks in advance
    Deepak

    If I remember correct, to use JCA adapter with SOA stack requires that adapter implement some Oracle API.
    The Adapter SDK is a light-weight tool kit that enables rapid implementation and deployment --- http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/integration/adapters/pdf/DS_OracleASAdapter.pdf
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B16981_04/current/acrobat/cct115dg.pdf
    Mostly you will have to wrap your jca adapter to make it available in SOA suite/stack.
    Other option is that you adapter provider would have given CCI interface or some custom interface which can be used for invoking adapter end-points.
