is there a method to create and test an RFC?
(HTTP-connection to ext. Server)

I have a java system which is connected to the sap i have configured it in sm59.then created a function module<rfc_function module> which is RFC enabled give some import data which will return some values.in the main program i called the <rfc_function module> by syntax
call function <rfc_function module> destination <dest>.
export
rfc_fm-import = <values>
import
rfc_fm-return = <return values>.
if sy-subrc = 0.
write: "rfc is there".
else
write:'connection failed'.
endif.
there is a simple way to check connect click on the connection test in sm59 of the RFC destination

Hi Debraj,
You should be able to do that in SM59 of the XI Box.
Create the connection under "HTTP Connections to R/3 System".
Provide the Target Host IP Address.Service Number and Path Prefix.
Select the logon procedure as SAP Standard.
SSL Inactive.
Provide Logon details.

I'm making a web site and want to test it on my computer. Because some of the urls are absolute: "/" for example the links aren't working. What can I do to not change these links but have the site browsable on my computer? Some kind of imitation volume possibly? Or something else. What's best? How can I do it?

Yes I think you've understood me. I've got a collection of various html pages that have links like /images/picture.png and when these collection of files go on a web server an images folder will be in its home directory therefore /images/picture.png will access correctly, but in a folder on my desktop for example an html link of /images/picture.png does not access picture.png in the images folder in the folder on my desktop, and I was wondering if there was a way to get html links in their present form to work while on my computer.
Thanks very much for your suggested sollution. It doesn't make full sense to me, but not to worry -- I've decided it's not worth it. Not solving this is something I can live with. I thought there might be a fairly simple solution, but if not, no serious problem.

Creating and Testing a Hashtable

Hi guys I need to craete a program that organizes a RegistrarRecord
of students of a certain institution.The program should do the follwing:
(i)The program should create Hashtable in order to organize the Academic record of the whole institution
(ii)The program should cast the studentrecord to fit in Academic Record
(iii)A student number should be used as a Hashkey to get the Student's record
(iv)The program must have two classes public one RegistrarRecord and the other which is not public known as AcademicRecord
(v)The student's courses should differ by faculties in that institution

Just for the laugh maybe you could show us what you've done already! Did you have to type that from a paper copy or did you get it from your lecturer electronically? If you had to type it yourself I hope your fingers are not too sore!

Overriding the method EntityImpl.create() and setting attribute values?

How to you do that please ?

The easiest way would be to set the date as default in the EO. The date then is visible when you create a new row. If the use overwrites it you get the new date, if he leafs hte date untouched you get the default date.

IN XIR2, I want to work on OLAP Intelligence. I have uploaded the Key.
Please advise me How to enable OLAP Intelligence and hwo to work.
I have not found any OLAP Connection section in CMC.
Developer sent a OLAP report, and uploaded to BO Environment. now it is showing connection filed..
Please steps to fallow, enable the OLAP Intelligence in currently running BOXIR2 Env, and how to test whetehr OLAP is working or not.

Hi,
OLAP Intelligence does not manage its connections in the CMC. You can create an OLAP Intelligence connection by going to InfoView and clicking on the New menu. You should see two OLAP Intelligence related items. One called 'OLAP Intelligence Report' and another called 'OLAP Intelligence Connection'.
In order to use OLAP Intelligence through InfoView you need to have your third party OLAP connectivity components installed in the same maching as the web application server that is hosting InfoView. To test which connectivity you have installed and set up correctly you can click on the 'OLAP Intelligence Connection' option under the New button described above. One the new connection page you should see a drop down list of available OLAP providers. You will always see connectivity options for Hyperion Essbase and IBM DB2 OLAP regardless of whether you have set this connectivity up. If you don't see a connection for Microsoft Analysis Services you will need to install the Analysis Services client connectivity on your web application server machine. If you don't see SAP BW connectivity you need to install something like the SAP GUI that will place librfc32.dll on the path and you will have to install the Business Objects SAP Integration kit.
If you see your connectivity available, you can test whether you can reach the OLAP server by creating a connection. Use the same OLAP server pointed to by the report that you uploaded.
If you are able to creat and test succesfully a connection, can you post what error message you were seeing when you tried to access the published file?

Automate DBAdapter creation and testing using ANT

I am using SOA suite 10.1.3.1.
I would like to automate creation and testing of DBAdapter and I know that we have some ANT task to create and test connection pool and datasource like
createJDBCConnectionPool
createManagedDataSource
testConnectionPool
testDataSource
etc...
but I fail to found ANT task for DBAdapter.
It would be grateful if someone can tell if it exists or not.

How to creating file with APD (tcode rsanwb) with Key and Test characterist

I'm creating an APD with RSANBW. Data Source is a query and Data Target a File. I want display Key and Test for everyone of query characteristics. I've revised properties of characteristics into the query rows and check "key and test", however the file only contains key values.

the data the query pulls is from the cube/DSO, which stores only the key.
the query pulls the text from the master data tables for diplay purpose only. For APD purpose the query only supplies what is avaialable in the infoprovider.
To have key and text in the target file you neeed to use transformation type routine in the APD or create an infoprovider that stores both text and key as separate fields in it and use that for the APD, with or without a query.

Need a tool to create Development and Test instance of a Production db

I am very new to Oracle and have previously worked with SQL Server 2005/8 only.
My current company only has one instance of the Oracle database (which is production) and until now, all development and testing used to take place on the same instance (what a mess!!).
Anyways, we have now decided to create a development and test on a separate physical machine. We are on Oracle 11g on Windows 2008 Server.
In SQL Server, it used to be fairly simple, just take a full backup of the database and restore it on another box with SQL Server and we had a new instance of the same database.
Can someone point out a simple technique to create these development and test instance in Oracle. Essentially, we want to clone the database. Are there any tools available that can make this task simple.

You will first need to clone the Oracle binaries (ORACLE_HOME) - see MOS Doc 1154613.1 (Master Note For Cloning Oracle Database Server ORACLE_HOME's Using the Oracle Universal Installer (OUI))
Then clone the database - see MOS Doc 458450.1 (Steps to Manually Clone a Database)
