Mic Output Won't W

Hi,
? I've been using my X-Fi Xtreme Gamer sound card for over a year. I have really enjoyed the amazing quality and find my $00-+ well worth it.
?I have never mistreated, overused, or incorrectly plugged in my sound card. Just yesterday I was playing a computer game with my friends, and all of the sudden they stopped responding to me. I found out something was wrong with my mic, when I went to record my voice with a program and heard nothing. I have tried other mics on my computer and they don't work. I know the problem is not my mic (the wire and everything is fine anyways).
I can hear sound perfectly normal. Yet I can't record, and my friends can't hear me. They say all they hear is an echo and static. I've played with the settings, restarted, installed new drivers, and reinserting my sound card into it's slot, and even made sure that connector was plugged in properly.
Any suggestions, other than "did you unmute your mic?" would be greatly appreciated. Also, I'm trying to install a new codec, my friend suggested. But I don't think this will work.

I'm beginning to think that's the case. I've put 20 hours or so in it so far. I'm gonna call service one more time. It shouldn't be this difficult. I always start by assuming it's something I did wrong but I'm about to give up.
I spent the best part of 3 days with my original XFi, uninstaling/instaling many many times. I even deleted the complete harddri've and did a fresh instal which boots the PC back to it's factory state.Don't waste anymore time with it. Exchange it for another one.Good luck, and keep me posted.

  • Mic output very

Using a Sound Blaster X-fi (SB0790), I have very low Mic output. Using Ventrilo, when I try to increase the output volume a pop-up says to use the " +20db Boost" but looking in the "Sounds and Audio Devices" I do not see a way to do that, the "Advanced" setup for the mic is gryed ou.
Bottom line, its not my Mic tahts the problem, so how I get the Mic output to be stronger so that Im heard on Ventilo (or any other chat program).
    Whats with this card?

The problem with a noisy mike isn't going to be in the software.  It is a hardware problem.  Possibly the wiring, grounding, shielding, cross-talk from other wires picking up interference.

  • IPad Mic Output

Is there an app for Mic Output to speaker on iPad?
I have to give a speech to a small size audience and would like to use external mic and wireless speaker with iPad instead of MacBook Air. I could not find any ans here or on Goolgle.
    Thanks.

To clarify , Garageband has an input volume meter with a needle that goes in the red if it's too loud.
I tested the ipad against the ipodtouch and I got a much stronger signal from the ipodtouch. It went  into the red if I got loud. The ipad will not go into the red no matter how much I yell.
It definitely has a lower input level then the ipodtouch.

  • Low mic output, can't figure it out at all!

Recently, I tried to find a portable solution just for fun. In the studio, we have a proper mixing desk, amps, pre-amps and the lot. But I'm going away for a few months and I needed to be able to work on the go… That said…
I got myself some candy. At first I thought it would be cheap… I was wrong.
It's costing me because I keep buying new things to try and fix the issue!
I got a nice shure condensor mic and the Behringer Tube Ultragain pre-amp.
To input the sound into the MacBook Pro, I also got Behringer Firewire FCA202.
For those not familiar with these, the FCA202 has 2 ins / 2 outs, 1/4 inch, no pre-amp. The Tube Ultragain offers up to 60dB of gain, +48 V, 20dB PAD, a phase reverse and limiter.
First observation is how the Tube Ultragain indicates proper volume, in fact, when all knobs are all the way up, a simple hush in the mic send the volume indicator to clip. Still, nothing through Logic. I can see a bar, but barely a sound.
I tried to plug my headphones in the back of the Tube Uktragain and it's quite loud. So why won't it work?
Then, I decided it was the Tube Ultragain. I thought I'd get extra gain by buying another audio interface that could be portable. I chose the Line6 Toneport X1. I plug the XLR from the mic to the XLR input of the Tube Ultragain, crank up all the knobs. I output to the Line 6 through the mic input, cranking the gain as well. Still nothing.
I decided to get a different mic. I got the ribbon Superlux R102. I read great reviews. Any setup combination with any of my devices resulted still in very very very very low output.
Considering that I have a few mics, what should I get that will work or what am I doing wrong with what I've got?
The thing is, all these devices work great with guitars. It all points to not enough juice for the mics but seriously, shouldn't the Tube Ultragain do the trick?
    Help???

    Hello Unconscious2015,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
If you are trying to configure your Mac to use SMS continuity with your iPhone, then please follow the directions below to configure SMS Continuity.
To use Continuity for SMS and MMS with your iPhone and your Mac, iPad or iPod touch
Your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch need to use iOS 8.1, and your Mac needs to use OS X Yosemite.
Sign in to iMessage on your iPhone, your other iOS devices, and your Mac using the same Apple ID.
    On your iPhone:
Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > You Can Be Reached By, and add a check to both your phone number and email address.
Go to Messages > Text Message Forwarding, and enable the device(s) you would like to forward messages to.
Your Mac, iPad, or iPod touch will display a code. Enter this code on your iPhone to verify the SMS feature.
Connect your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Mac using Continuity - Apple Support

  • Mic Output Iss

I'm currently using an Audigy 2 ZS on Vista Business 64-bit. Everything that I say into the microphone comes out of the speakers. I have tried turning off line in and other settings. I tried changing bit rates as if that would have any difference anyway. I've even tried running the mic through line in or other inputs.
I'm currently using a 5. Creative sound system so I didn't have to do anything special with the three sound inputs. Why am I able to hear myself talk? Can this be fixed?

    Bump.
According to the Creative AWE64 documentation:
    <i>
The digital audio signals from the SPDIF Out jack contain audio output from the EMU8000 wavetable chip mixed with digital voice playback if the playback is in 6-bit stereo mode, 44. kHz CD quality. If you want to listen to WaveSynth/WG through the SPDIF Out jack, you must enable the ?Enable WaveSynth to play at CD quality? feature. To do so:
. Start Creative WaveSynth-Waveguide. The WaveSynth/WG properties sheet appears, displaying the Profile tab.
    2. Click the Performance Settings button.
    3. In the Settings dialog box, select the Enable WaveSynth To Play At CD Quality check box and click the OK button.
    4. In the WaveSynth/WG properties sheet, click the Quit button to close it.
    </i>
Now I am running Windows XP and it seems that the WaveSynth software is incompatable with this OS (not that I've ever used it before or really know what it is). Is there another way to force the card to output all sounds at 6-bit stereo 44.KHz?

I just have just downloaded Mountain lion and I wanted to listen to music on my computer screen with my HDMI cable plug into my back of my screen and I wanted to talk to dictation on my regular standard iPhone headphone and I was wondering if it's all possible change your settings Mac Mini to set it so you can listen to those both like your headphones and use the mic in your headphones and there's no settings that would change in the Mac Mini so do there is a flaw in this system or I am just really really really really dumb.

You computer is probably perfectly repairable, but if you want a new one anyway, it is perfectly possible to transfer the data from the faulty one.
But it would be a mistake to simply put the old HD in the new computer.
    These are the steps:
Remove Hard drive from faulty computer. (very easy on Unibody MBPs, do-able but not so easy on older MBPs)
Put it in a cheap enclosure
    Connect it the new computer
    Boot up new computer.
If the new computer has never been run before the Setup Assistant will ask if you want to import your apps, data, settings etc from either another mac, another HD connected to the Mac or a Time Machine back up.
Obviously chose the second option (another HD connected to this Mac) and follow prompts.
If the new computer has already been run (so Setup Assistant doesn't run when you boot it up), you will need to use Migration Assistant...or run the installer again so that Setup Assistant runs again.

  • KT6V SPDIF OutPut won't work

I have a KT6V motherboard and I can not get the SPDIF output to work. I have change the speaker config countless times, I have found and adjusted the volume control for this output but still nothing. This problem has been with me since new and the board has even been back to MSI for repair for another problem but still no SPDIF output. I have run out of ideas. Any suggestions would be great. Thank you all.

Thanks heaps. Believe it or not it was the only thing I did not try. The surround sound system is shaking the walls now.

  • Flatten two audio cords (mic output) into an Apple port.

Anyone know of an adapter where you can stick the two wires from standard headsets into one side, and plug it into an apple input/output port (designed for "iPhone Headset"
    Thanks in advance.

Yes, I've seen those, but I was asking simply of curiosity because it would just be cooler to connect it right through the jack. Also, I just realized, a USB adapter wouldn't help iPhone, iPad, and iPod users, as there is not a standard USB port. But thanks.

  • Premiere Pro CC 7.2.2 audio output won't play L and R channels

    Hello,
I am running Premiere Pro CC 7.2.2 in Windows 7 64 bits. I have also a Genelec 8000 series pair working with an AJA Kona 3G and only one of the speakers works for any project. If I test the same audio file in Adobe Audition, it works perfectly for both channels. I tried with another clean new hard drive, and still it doesn't work. I can see that both channels have audio level, but it's just not played.
I tried to change the speakers to all the channels of the AJA K3G Box, and change the Audio Hardware settings accordingly, but nothing help in Premiere.
I would appreciate any help with this issue, because I can't work with one speaker forever
    Thanks in advance!!!

Fixed it by renaming the profile folder, see instructions here - Sorry, a serious error has occurred that requires Adobe Premiere Pro to shut down! Frustrated.

  • HDD cam EX1 output won't show on macbookpro

I have just bought a new Buffalo TERRABYTE Drive to copy footage onto for my Macbook pro (Snow leopard). It worked fine until I turned off the power without exiting from finder. Now the green light goes on and then the drive turns itself off and will not even show in finder. Can I revive it?

Can you detect it with Disk Utility?

  • Airhelp browser-based output won't open in network location

    Hi,
Wondering if anyone can help us with the following issue:
I want to enable internal reviewers to open my browser-based AIR Help in a shared network location. Currently, in order to open the Help, reviewers must do the following (which seems rather complicated):
    1. Create a folder on their local systems:  \Macromedia\Flash Player\#Security\FlashPlayerTrust.
    2. Paste into it the folder the RoboHelp.cfg file (containing the network path to my AIR Help index.html file).
I derived the above steps from the procedure provided by  http://help.adobe.com/en_US/robohelp/robohtml/WS1b49059a33f77726-484da80912ce87f5f33-8000. html
Is there a way to avoid having to make reviewers perform these steps in order to access AIR Help on an internally shared network location?
Seems like a very involved process to just check to make sure others in the company can open it and test it. If they don't do this and they click on the index file it looks as if the help will open but then hangs on a blue grey box with a progress bar that never moves.
    Thanks!

    Hi there
Here's the fundamental issue. When you present WebHelp, it's just a frameset with some HTML pages, images and lots of javascript. Browsers generally have no issue with presenting that from local locations such as the C drive or network drives. Well, most browsers. IE will refuse things unless you enable Mark of the Web. When you present browser based AIR help, it's a similar setup, but the fancy looking elements are presented using Adobe Flash. Because you are running from local media and not a Web server, Flash Security kicks in and doesn't allow things to work until you pat it on the head and tell it the world, in fact, will NOT end if it shows you this content. That's what the config file does. Tells the Flash Player that it's okay if the content in this location is presented.
The thing is, if you run from your local drive and Flash Player didn't worry about security, folks could do some pretty nasty things to you if they wanted. That's why it exists. But if you run from a Web server, the browser automatically places you in a safe area. I believe in temporary files where things can't get out of hand. So there is no need for rigid security.
    Cheers... Rick

The video you have at the html5.html URL is different from the other, but it also plays when downloaded and transferred to the iPad.
I didn't examine your html5.html file.  I take it you are not hand-encoding, but using a program that does that for you.  Here is the html line I used to download one of your files:
    <LI> <A HREF="http://timken.com/sites/momentoftrust/en-us/Documents/pr6.mp4">MP4 Test</A>
I downloaded the mp4 file by right-clicking the URL and selecting Download Linked File As.  Just clicking the URL plays the video on the Mac Pro's Safari, but I don't know how to test it on the iPad.
