Mic problem with Audigy

I am trying to use a mic but such programs as teamspeak, google chat, trillian won't work. I can hear myself talking from the speakers but the programs don't get the audio. I tried testing the hardware in the control panel sounds and audio devices properties(voice tab) but it doesnt show any level of sound coming in. Is there a setting to change the mic audio to go straight to the speakers?

Never worked for me :-((

Is it an Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro you have (with the external dri've)?
Did you check the mixer settings when you connected your mic? As long as the recording source is set up correctly you should be able to record from that input. Did you test that with a standard computer microphone aswell? You mentioned you have several mics.

  • Please help! Mic problems with Audigy 2

    Hey everyone,
I have a Audigy 2 ZS, and my problem is that whenever I try using my headset/mic combo it never fails that people can hear everything going on my computer as if I have speakers. Its kind of confusing to explain so I'll just give you a few examples.
. On ventrillo if I use the "push to talk" key and have an mp3 playing at same time or anything playing in teh background, we'll just say MP3 for example. Whenever I will try to speak they will hear the MP3 playing also as if I had speakers on. But im on a headset.
    2. In Counter Strike people will hear my game as I play also. Again almost making it seem like I was playing on speakers and the mic was picking up the background noise.
Now what I have tried so far is gone thru 3 differant types of plantronic mics and they all do the same thing and they work fine on my laptop. I've have 3 formats and clean installs and its always the same problem. So I'm totally confused if it is a hard ware problem or software problem.... Also when I play counter strike at times my voice becomes garbled (if that is a real world) and people tell me it sounds like I'm talking with marbles in my mouth. But other times im perfectly fine. This computer was just purchased in end of January so I'm just baffled... any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    I have the solution!!
OK first go into your Creative Volume Control Panel
On the far right side it says REC make sure that says Line-In2/Mic 2 and also make sure that same option isnt selected in the two left columns those I guess can be set to whatever. I have mine set to Aux and Aux 2 and there muted.
Now if your using VENT like me then go into setup and starting from top right on main page
    Output Device: Default Wave Mapper
    No check in box
Input Device: YOUR CARDS NAME (i.e. SB Audigy 2 ZS Audio)
Mixer: SB Audigy 2 ZS Audio
    Mux: Recording Control
    Line: Line-In 2/Mic 2
This is what worked for me, I hope you all have as much luck as I have had. Just post if it doesnt work and Ill do what I can to help!

  • Microphone problems with Audigy 2 ZS/win 7 x64

    Hello.
I have very common problem with my soundcard audigy 2 ZS on windows 7 x64 with 8gb RAM. A week ago installed win 7 (was xp before) and noticed that my mic is not working. When I turn on microphone in output device i hear crystal clear sound from headphones, as input device it is not working properly. After reboot it don't work, no reaction on any changes. Usually after 5-20 mins I can hear signal from it (even when I'm not doing anything). Still sound quality is terrible, lots of noises and bugs. So I can't use it. After reboot mic not working again.
My microphone is fine, soundcard also worked on XP without problems (almost all A2ZS users have same problem). The latest drivers was installed on clean, fully updated Win 7 Ultimate. Tried danielK pack. Still no results, this is about 2 years old problem with drivers and I want to know any realistic way to solve it. All post on forum are outdated, or don't have any useful info.

    Krookut,
Try these suggested steps when cleansweeping and reinstalling. They may help make the reinstall more successful:

  • Problem with Audigy 2 Platinum Front Panel Input

0Problem with Audigy 2 Platinum Front Panel Input? Hey everyone,
Here's the background of the issue. I got a PS3 over the holidays for literally free
I had my computer out in a testbed style. Plugged the PS3 into my monitor HDMI --> DVI cable, and Red/White into the front RCA jacks of the Front Panel (Aux 2). As soon as I plugged in the cable, I got sound out of my speakers and was able to enjoy my PS3 in 720p
I put all of the components back into the case after cutting exhause and intake fan holes. I brought everything back to school, fired up the PC and PS3. Lo and behold, there is no more sound from the PS3. I know that PS3s are temperamental in moving, but I hooked the audio up to my TV and the sound came out just fine. The AD Ext cable looks like it's secure and in place. When I hooked up a mic and headphones to the front, they worked fine as well. However it seems to be just the AUX 2 RCA inputs that dont work anymore. Any ideas about how to fix this issue? Is there a function I have to turn on now in the software to allow sound to pass through? Any information would be wonderful!? I'm going to try an optical cable in the near future, just need to borrow one from a friend =/

    Problem Solved.
I had moved my cards around for better airflow. I moved the SB Audigy card from the bottom PCI slot to the top. Thinking this might be the problem, I moved the video card back to the top slot PCI-E and the sound card to the bottom PCI slot. Sound is now working again. Thanks for the thread views?:smileytongue:
Think that when I have to buy Win 7 for real if the problem would still persist if I moved the card again? Or is this a hardware limitation?

  • Help needed with HTC One regarding mic problem with noise cancellation

I picked up an HTC One last week, and so far I am loving the phone.  Great build quality, screen, sound - all as advertised.
However, there is one very annoying problem I am having.  When I am talking to someone, I can gear them great, but they keep telling me I sound muffled or robotic.  I performed some tests, and the problem appears to be something with the dual microphones and the HTC One's noise cancellation features.
Here are the tests I ran:
Typical phone call, with holding the phone as I normally do on the sides and to my ear.  Call result, pretty muffled voice.  I'd give the call quality a 5/10.
Help the phone as I typically do, but covered the mic hole on the back of the phone.  This definatelyimproved call quality.  Was louder and clearer, but not perfect.  I'd rate it at 8/10.
Help the phone towards the bottom, using my hand to kind of cup the bottom directing the sound to the bottom mic.  This was a further improvement in sound quality.  Rating would be 9/10.
Help phone as normal, but covered the bottom mic hole.  Very low volume and muffled sound.  Rating a 4/10.
Talked directly into the bottom of the phone into the bottom mic.  This gave perfect call quality and volume.  Rating a 10/10!
Talked directly into the mic on the back of the phone. Horrible quality, couldn't hear hardly anything. Rating 0/10.
Speaker phone on, held the phone up and moved it around as I would normally use a speaker phone.  Call quality was really nice.  Id give it 9/10.
Speaker phone on, covered back mic hole and used speaker phone as in #7.  Very bad quality, rating 1/10 for call quality.
Speaker phone on, covered bottom mic and help speaker phone in hand.  Really good quality, even an improvement over test #7.  Would give the call quality a 9.5/10.
Speaker phone on, placed face down on table.  Volume a bit low, a little muffled.  Call quality 6/10.
Speaker phone on, place face up on table.  A bit worse than test #10, low volume and a bit muffled.  Call quality is 5/10.
Based on these tests, I know this problem has nothing to do with the network CDMA connection.  It is obvious that the noise cancellation features are a bit too aggressive, or I have some hardware problem with one or both mics.
I question wether its really a hardware mic problem, because on non-speaker phone calls, talking directly into the bottom mic gives great quality.  And on Speaker phone, covering the bottom mic makes the speaker phone sound really good.  That's why I think there's something going on with the "Sense Sound" noise cancellation.
Is anyone else seeing the same issues?  I want to be able to hold the phone normal on a non speaker phone call and get good quality.
Looking for any tips and advice anyone can give.  Is it worth exchanging for a new one, as I am still in my 14 day window.
Thanks in advance for the help!

  • Problems with Audigy Platinum and Firew

    Hi,
I've been running my Soundblaster Audigy Platinum on my Win2k-System for some years and have just encountered some weird problems with the Firewire-Connector. When I connect an external DVD-Burner everything works fine. But when I connected an external harddisc for the first time recently, the system completely flipped and rebootet without any messages. When I connected the dri've via USB it wasn't recognized automatically (what it should have after the manual) but after installing the Drivers on the Disc. Afterwards also the Firewire-connect was possible, the dri've was recognized and appeared in the Explorer. So far so good.
But now, everytime I try to copy files larger than some Megabyte the dri've stops copying and I get an error message. Then the dri've disappears in the explorer. When I connect the dri've to my Laptop (XP Pro System) everything works fine. I already tried to google the problem and found some users with the same problem, unfortunately no answers to their posts. Is there someone who can help me (us)?
By the way, I already tried to re-install the drivers for the audigy...

hi kakarocht, tks for help me.

  • Itunes 7.0.1 skipping problem with audigy soundcard

Hi, I have an audigy se soundcard and running itunes 7.0.1. Whenever the cpu usage spikes (opening applications and loading animations on webpages) and I'm playing music in itunes, the music skips and cracks. I don't think it's issue with soundcard/driver cuz winamp works perfectly fine with no skips. I've tried changing audio pref (tried 8, 16, 24 bit and 32, 44.1 and 48 khz) in quicktime, all of which did't work. I don't want to change the process priority for itunes cuz i have to do it every time. Any ideas? This doesn't happen with onboard audio so it's really weird. I want to be able to use my soundcard. Thanks.

Did you try turning your hardware acceleration setting down? I was having the same problem with the previous version of iTunes and was advised to change my acceleration setting from "full" to "basic". If you want to try this, go to the control panel>sounds and audio devices>audio tab>sound playback advanced button>pull the acceleration lever down two notches from Full to basic. Restart itunes and see if that helps.

  • Problems with audigy 4 softw

    hi ^^
i have a problem with the software of my audigy 4 pro
the programs don?t start because of a strange error:
"Das von dieser Anwendung unterst?tzte Audioger?t wurde nicht gefunden."
    in english:
"The audio device supported by this application was not found."
    what causes this problem?
    what can i do?

An installation error causes this problem which in the first instance is addressed by ensuring that you have disabled the onboard audio. If this does not work in the second instance you will need to uninstall the card as follows:
/ Uninstall software and drivers either, through control panel or the installation CD
2/ Move the card to PCI slot 3 (if not already there)
3/ Manually remove registry entries as follows:
. Delete the files from "\Creative".
    2. Delete the following registry node from the registry
    (a) HKLM\Software\Creative Tech\Software Installed
    (b) HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uni nstall\5CDDF96A- BC34-4D72-9ABA-EFFF0C39977
4/ Reinstal the software and drivers.
In the third instance we wait to see first.

  • Problems with Audigy 2 ZS ASIO driv

I have some problems with ASIO drivers in my Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro. I use the program Cubase SE. When I select the SB Audigy 2 ZS ASIO 24/96-driver, it works for some time but then the sound starts cracking and popping and eventually doesn?t work at all until you reselect the driver. And with the SB Audigy 2 ZS ASIO-driver I can only record in mono, even though I checked the inputs. I think the Creative ASIO-driver had the same problem. Actually the ASIO Multimedia Driver has functioned the best. What could be the problem?

Indeed, if you think it's something that might be useful to others aswell, then it would be nice to have it up here

  • Vista x64, CMSS, and Distortion Problems with Audigy Z

I have an Audigy ZS 2 Plantinum, and I recently upgraded from XP x86 to Vista x64. With XP, I had no problems with the most recent drivers. I used CMSS-3D to output to all my speakers, mainly to make my music sound better when I played it (so it surrounded me, not just in front, even though its just Stereo).
Well, after trying to install the drivers for Vista x64 and having a ton of difficulties getting it to even set to 5. speakers, whenever I have CMSS turned on, sounds within programs are scratchy/distorted (such as Aol Instant Messenger). Music is fine (I use MediaMonkey), and those sound .wav's from programs play fine when opened on their own in MM or WMP. When I turn CMSS off, there is no distortion.
Does anyone have a solution for this I would like to have music played through all my speakers, but I am always using other programs when listening to music and I don't want their sounds to be distorted.

If anyone else is having similar problems: For me it seems to be an incompatibility between Creative Audigy 2 ZS drivers and Philips amBX set drivers. I've started a thread on the amBX forums : http://ambx.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=3797
I still need help to fix these problems.

  • Serious problems with Audigy 2

Several Threads here in the Discussion Forums and across the Internet reports that there are crackling/hissing/popping noises with their Audigy 2 and also the X-Fi Sound Cards.
I have the problem since that day they where available in the austrian or german stores, but at that time i thought it was a problem of the motherboard or the internal raid controller on my abit kx7 raid board. At that time i tried the first problem solvings like putting the card in the furthest slot from the agb, dismantle the whole computer and only tried to run with the audigy. I even reinstall a new Windwos Xp and always used the newest drivers and bios upgrades. But there was no solution for my problem. Soon after that i found the first postings across the internet reporting the same problem. Time after time more users came across and speculated about the possible solutions. Its really awesome, the people put much effort in helping each other. I TRIED EVERYTHING, really. I dont know how much time i invested to get rid off this annoying problem, and so other great guys do and as im writing this thread. But nothing works
Hey folks, come on, this cant be true. Not when there are so many people reports the same problem. They are all using different configurations but they all have the same problem: a hissing/crackling/popping sound. We all cannot say whats the real problem, we even can not say if its a problem with the soundcard.
Sure, no one can make a product without failures, but there are so many people reporting the same problem over a serious period of time, that there has to be a reaction from Creative.
I have to say i am very upset, i, or better many, feel to be left alone with a problem which we can't solve.
Please dont let us folks alone and help us to solve the problems we have. We have a right for it, as you have the right to get good money.....

I recently had a problem with my sound card, it became glitch while playing battlefield 242. I reinstalled windows, downloaded the driver and I'm still getting this "product not detected" error.
